In 2 Nephi 26, we learn that Satan does not lead people away with chains or sudden dramatic temptations. Instead, he works with a flaxen cord — subtle, soft, almost unnoticeable at first. Little compromises, quiet distractions, spiritual laziness, and small decisions that slowly pull the heart away from Christ. Most people do not walk away from God in one moment. It happens gradually, without realizing what is happening.

In this episode, we explore how these flaxen cords show up in everyday life and how we can recognize them before they tighten around us. We also contrast Satan’s hidden works of darkness with the clarity, light, and openness of Jesus Christ. The Savior never manipulates, never deceives, never works in secret. He invites us forward with truth and love.

This chapter is a reminder to stay awake spiritually and to walk in the light, where Christ leads and strengthens us.
