We call this the WHITE WALL prayer tool.

We use this tool in a variety of ways but where we want you to use it today is an opportunity to just sit and listen.

I'm going to open up our time with a brief prayer but before I do that I want you to imagine a big blank white wall just like an art gallery.

art gallery there.

It's this beautiful art on the walls, but they use a big blank white wall, so it's nondescript to allow you to see the artwork for what it is.

You can get closer to the image.

You can get further away, but it allows you to, without any other distraction, just see the piece of art that's on the wall.

That's what we want you to do today.

Imagine now a big blank white wall.

Father, as we begin to pray today, we ask that your power, your grace, your mercy would cover us, that the power of your Holy Spirit would lead this entire time.

So Lord, in the name of Jesus, as we apply the blood of Jesus to our lives, to our memories, to our thoughts, to our feelings, to our emotions, to our bodies, that we give you everything.

And so Holy Spirit, as you lead us, would you give us just a moment to take in a deep breath.

So if we can just take in a deep breath.

One more time.

So God, as we pray, we want to bring everything before you.

So Holy Spirit, as we pray, what memory do you want to bring to mind?

As you engage this memory, take a moment to remember as many details as you can.

So

Holy Spirit, would you now draw that memory out of us and place that memory on the white wall in order to observe it and to get perspective.

Holy Spirit, would you also draw out every person, emotion, and detail that you want to highlight that is associated with that memory?

Imagine all of it now going onto the white wall.

Take your time and allow everything associated with that memory to come out and onto the wall.

So

Jesus, would you now come and be near?

Reveal your presence to us as we pray.

Let us see you, hear you, sense you, and acknowledge your presence here.

As you also observe the wall with us.

Jesus, what part of this memory do you want to highlight?

Is it a person, an emotion, a harmful phrase spoken, a trauma?

Jesus, we acknowledge that we don't always remember things as they really were.

What lies might we believe about ourselves, about you, or about others from this memory?

I confess that I want to know the truth and believe the truth.

Jesus, what is the truth about this memory?

Jesus, what is the truth about this memory?

Jesus, what is the truth about this memory?

Jesus, what is the truth about this memory?

Jesus, what is the truth about the memory?

Jesus, we know that you are always with us.

Where are you in this memory?

Don't force him there.

Just allow him to reveal his presence to you.

Take a moment.

Be still.

Jesus, where are you?

Jesus, where are you?

Jesus, where are you?

Is there anything else that you want to show us?

Jesus, where are you?

Jesus, as we observe this memory on the wall, we acknowledge the people, the emotions, the details.

Jesus, what do you want to do with all of those things on the wall?

Jesus, where are you?

Jesus, where are you?

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we commit this time of prayer to you.

Thank you for leading us.

We trust you, Lord, with all of these things as we give them to you and allow Jesus to do whatever he wants with those things on the wall.

Amen and Amen.
