So here's the situation... Our parents went away on a week's vacation–JK JK. But for real, we took a break after season one and reassessed what we wanted to do for season two, and lo and behold, we both wanted to move away from our initial idea of doing high school-themed interviews. And now we've realized that we need a new name. So technically, this episode is the first episode of whatever the new podcast will be, but we didn't want to lose all of our loyal fans. Please enjoy this episode and feel free to weigh in with ideas for our new moniker.
Okay, so here's the situation. We have completely wiped the slate clean of our former podcast, which was about high school, and we had guests on and we talked about their experiences, and it was awesome. And we took a break to retool what we were doing, and our first jaunt into what we thought was going to be the thing that we were doing didn't work out so hot. So we retooled again. Um, and we have landed on a new podcast theme, which is basically it's a podcast about nothing. So basically, it's Seinfeld. We're doing Seinfeld as as a podcast.
SPEAKER_02Look, okay, here's my elevator pitch that I've been telling people. Tell us your pitch. Two high school BFFs reconnect. Although not really, we have been connected, but we're reconnecting on the internets to catch up and talk about things from then and now.
SPEAKER_01You want to name it then and now, you want to name it that. So bashed.
SPEAKER_02No, that's not on my list. Unfortunately, everything I came up with is already the name of a podcast, so slim pickens out there.
SPEAKER_01Um, I thought of a really awesome one. We'll get to it in a second, but I realized it was a nickname for an entire fucking city. I Googled it and I was like, that uh how did I think of that? Probably heard it somewhere. What we're doing today is we are recording ourselves renaming our podcast. Rebranding? Is it a renaming? We are picking a new name. Can we just catch up first? How are we doing today? I'm fucking terrible.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so we're in we're in the perfect mindset to rebrand this podcast.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, everything is fine. No, I'm fine. Uh, let's catch up. How do you think?
SPEAKER_02Thank you for asking how I'm doing. How are you? I'm doing I'm doing great. Uh I am tired, uh, but I have had coffee and food and water and vitamins, so the day can only go up from here.
SPEAKER_01That sounds good and very matter-of-facty. What did you have for food today? What food items?
SPEAKER_02I have the exact same protein shake every single morning. That's not food, that's a drink. Well, it was food, but I blended it because there's banana in there and there's yogurt. So it was food that has become a drink. Basically, it gives me all of my nutrients for the day, and then the rest of the day it can just be fucking garbage because it doesn't matter, because I've already gotten my fibers and my proteins and all the good stuff. Okay, well, let's we got the pleasantries out of the way. I hope all the listeners, all listener is doing well. Yeah, lit so listener, we are I guess we're still deciding. Are we gonna rename this podcast? I don't know. If you have thoughts, you should call our hotline that still exists because we'd love to hear from you.
SPEAKER_01Do you have a good name for our podcast? Do you have a good name? Because clearly we don't have a good idea.
SPEAKER_02Oh once we realize once we go through all of our ideas and we realize none of these are good, you should call and give us your good ideas.
SPEAKER_01Do you have one that's like okay, if we can't think of anything else, we're just gonna do this? Because I do.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's called Welcome Back to High School.
SPEAKER_01It's called Stop Changing the Name of Your Podcast.
SPEAKER_02It's called what it is.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Do you want to go? I I kind of want you to go first because I made the thumbs up.
SPEAKER_02Mine are such garbage. Uh, I'm just gonna I think there's maybe like two that I that are like serious ones, and the rest are just like garbage. Um I don't even know. I've got so many here. So should I just go down the list?
SPEAKER_01Uh I think just start with the first one, and then we'll know what to do after that.
SPEAKER_02All right. Well, the first one is bad, uh, but again, very difficult to come up with an original podcast name because they've all been taken.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_02Uh, this is a little witty one. It's called Imprompt 2, but instead of two at the end, it's the number two because there's two of us.
SPEAKER_01Should I just make the noise? Next. Okay. It feels like a boy band from Sri Lanka. Like, no, impromptu, like, no.
SPEAKER_02I actually over the weekend I was in Seattle and I went to um a store called Archie McPhee's, which is basically a huge store filled with garbage and crap. Um, and I bought these little figurines, four little kitty cats, all with headsets on, and they're it's a cat boy band group. Oh, and they're called Hiss Two Per.
SPEAKER_01See, I now you understand why I'm like, no, it's a boy band.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I love it. So it's what's why I vote for it.
SPEAKER_01Okay, next.
SPEAKER_02Yours are gonna be serious. I know. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_01Now, now, oh, you want me to we'll go tit for tat?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_01Okay, my first one is we talked about this, so it's not a surprise, but it is in honor of Cantors in Los Angeles. My first offering would be the kibbutz room. Was it already taken?
SPEAKER_02Uh, I think there is a podcast with kibbutz in the name. Okay. And you would not be surprised to know it's a Jewish podcast.
SPEAKER_01Of course, because it's kibbitz.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But I do love that name.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I'm gonna put it in the maybe column. Um Okay. Because maybe.
SPEAKER_02But and and listener, yeah, it's called just the kibbutz podcast.
SPEAKER_01So uh kibbitz, the way we're using it is is a Yiddish terminology about chatting and talking. I could just say it's about talking shit, like just talking shit, catching up. Yeah, and there's a bar in LA called the kibbutz room that we used to go to. We would get we would get delicious bagels and and things at canters, and then we would go to the kibbutz room and have a beer and sit.
SPEAKER_02I saw lots of celebrities there. It's good celeb spot spot and spot.
SPEAKER_01Tell us tell us about these celebs that you saw.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I don't remember who they were because I drank heavily and I don't have any memories left, but I do remember seeing celebrities there.
SPEAKER_01I think you saw Keanu Reeves. I'm just gonna say it.
SPEAKER_02Did we see uh Drew Barrymore? Was that at Swingers or is that in the kibbutz room? I have no memory of that. But put that pen down. You're gonna click that pen.
SPEAKER_01I'm not gonna click the pen, but the next time I see Miss Barrymore, I'll ask her if I ever saw her at the kibbutz room.
SPEAKER_02Okay, name droppy.
SPEAKER_01It's like no big deal.
SPEAKER_02The next time I see Drudiru, I'll ask her. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Okay, the kibbutz room is a good one.
SPEAKER_01I putting it in the maybe pile.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, put that in like the the not trash pile.
SPEAKER_01Okay, not trash. Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna label these trash and not trash.
SPEAKER_02All right, so here's here's one that I somewhat serious. Uh your ears must be burning.
SPEAKER_01I was waiting for you to follow that's phrasing with with the sentence. Uh I like it. Could it be, are your ears burning? Yeah, we could do, we could do, we could riff on it. Or like burn the burning ear podcast.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, something. But I was like, I like the idea of, you know. I like that. Someone's talking about you.
SPEAKER_01Uh, I had something similar. We'll transition right into my next one, Speak of the Devil.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's a good one too.
SPEAKER_01Um, I have that on the list. I have a name app, like notes app thing. I've been trying to name something in my life, Speak of the Devil, for like 20 years.
SPEAKER_02Um how is that not a podcast? Is it uh is it a mental show?
SPEAKER_01I'm sure it's a podcast. It's probably a a religious podcast about the devils.
SPEAKER_02Um uh speak of the devil. It sure is. Yeah, there's speak of the devil and speak of the devils.
SPEAKER_01There's several. Is there devil of the speak? Um, speak of the devil by Nick Wong.
SPEAKER_02Devil of the Speak is a great at is also transitions wonderfully into my next suggestion.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so Speak of the Devil's.
SPEAKER_02Because it's because it's a flip-flop of the words.
SPEAKER_01I what is it?
SPEAKER_02Company loves misery.
SPEAKER_01I love that. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I kind of love that one too.
SPEAKER_01Company loves Okay, so here's the hard part. I feel like I want to be, and I hate using this fucking word because the internet's destroyed it. I want to be intentional with what we choose. And I wonder if that sounds like a horror movie vibe.
SPEAKER_02Like company because it has because it has misery in it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it I think just because of the movie, but and then it's like, and then it reminds me of Collective Soul. Um they say misery, loves company. That's them, right? Or is it Candle Box? I don't know. You know every song! You know Misery?
SPEAKER_02Misery?
SPEAKER_01Candle box.
SPEAKER_02I who it's a song.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I'm putting it's in the maybes. Um, okay. Um, my next one uh is something we also talked about, and it's friends was taken.
SPEAKER_02Friends was taken is a good one. Friends was taken because we're friends. To be to be followed by my uh idea, friends again.
SPEAKER_01Friends again. That sounds like friends that weren't friends that are back to friends. And it sort of sounds like a morning after pill or something. Like it sounds weird.
SPEAKER_02I'm saying no. We did we did fight and then we got back together, so I'm just saying not a lie.
SPEAKER_01Not a lie.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_01Um, okay. I thought of one that makes no sense, but I I wrote it down anyway. Um, immersive human. Your face is so good. It's like you ate something bad. I'm putting it in the trash. Immersive human. Okay, my name. Oh, wait, I just went. You go, you go, what you got?
SPEAKER_02I'm just gonna go down the list because the rest of them are not really that good. Uh long chords. Like long phone cords.
SPEAKER_01Long chords. I like it because I like the postal service naming of things, like yeah. Could it be like long phone chords?
SPEAKER_02Phone you could do whatever you want with that seed of an idea.
SPEAKER_01Long chords, maybe long distance calls.
SPEAKER_02Long distance?
SPEAKER_01We're going LD.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, okay, this one is a is a love song. Uh Just the Two of Us. Which which then led me to you and I, which is an underrated emo core band. Could it be just the two of us? And then a subhead is you and I.
SPEAKER_02I'm sorry. You didn't like impromptu, but you wanted to do just the two of us? No, get out of here. Trash pile.
SPEAKER_01Trash. I don't need to write down the trash because I have a but wait, and then a play on that. We'll just close out. Oh, I hit the mic. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01Um, we'll just close that out. Um, it us.
SPEAKER_02I do like it us.
SPEAKER_01It us. But I kind of I feel like that maybe was a podcast. It us. Like I do.
SPEAKER_02It us, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But also a variation of it us. I had we're it.
SPEAKER_02There is a podcast called It Us.
SPEAKER_01God damn it. This is what I'm saying. What about we're it?
SPEAKER_02We're it. What tag.
SPEAKER_01Oh, tag, we're it.
SPEAKER_02We're it tag podcast. I'm gonna say it's already a podcast.
SPEAKER_01It's also not that good. Um okay tag your it podcast just us out. Oh, okay. You go, you go, because I'm hogging it.
SPEAKER_02Uh again, these are bad. Phone tag, because I'm really good at that.
SPEAKER_01I'm not bad mad at that at all. I actually really like that.
SPEAKER_02That probably is already a podcast, though.
SPEAKER_01Uh let's cut to Cornelius. Cornelius, is phone tag taken? Could it be phone with an F? Phone tag is not taken. Uh one, two, three, four, four, five. Phone tag with rod O tool. What about phone F-O-N-E? Nobody's gonna find us. Like, these motherfuckers can't even spell. I'm not. What a I think we could do a variation of phone tag. Like, what if it was called like, hey, what's your podcast called? It's called phone tag. Like, it's called is in the name.
SPEAKER_02Mmm.
SPEAKER_01Uh it's phone tag. Phone tag was taken. Phone tag, phone tag again. Shout out to name taken for stealing how to name a band in a podcast. Um, I'm not I like phone cat phone tag. Okay, we're gonna put it down. Okay. Uh ready? Mine's another song. One. I think we're alone now.
SPEAKER_02So no, you hate it. I mean, I do love that song.
SPEAKER_01I know you do.
SPEAKER_02Syphony. Love that bitch.
SPEAKER_01I you think no?
SPEAKER_02Because it's just us. That has to already be a podcast.
SPEAKER_01Man, did we? Did we search these before the lips? I'm a busy woman.
SPEAKER_02Because I did I did search pretty much all of mine to make sure that it they were not except for foam tag. I knew that was already taken.
SPEAKER_01Uh nope. I think we're alone now is not taken.
SPEAKER_02What? That's because Tiffany's coming after everybody with cease and desists.
SPEAKER_01Uh I mean, I love I love that. No, it's taken. I think we're alone now with Brittany and Julia. No, but this would be nobody's ever heard of Nikki Glazer.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no. Who is she? Maybe we should call our podcast Call Me Daddy.
SPEAKER_01You call your daddy dad. Your daddy called me.
SPEAKER_02Oh no. Okay.
SPEAKER_01I have I have one that's potentially not taken because it's really fucking weird. Oh. First day at the glue factory.
SPEAKER_02What was happening to you when you were coming up with these names?
SPEAKER_01I I don't know.
SPEAKER_02First day at the glue factory.
SPEAKER_01You know, like it's your first day at work. The glue factory at work. I was trying to think of stuff that would not be taken. You know what? I'm not mad at that one. First day at the glue fa I I mean it's so fucking random.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like I'm not that's why I think I'm not mad at it.
SPEAKER_01See? Fuck. Okay, I'm putting it in the maybes.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02Uh, I'm gonna give you two together because they're both really bad and probably taken. Late night pizza.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I love that.
SPEAKER_02Do you really? Who doesn't love late night pizza? I don't know. I thought that would be such a bad name for a podcast.
SPEAKER_01No, I think it's fucking awesome.
SPEAKER_02Uh, friendship bracelets, also not taken, which is wild.
SPEAKER_01I would love it if we were eight years old. I'm not mad at it, but it doesn't like I'm not attached to any of these.
SPEAKER_02The only one I was really attached to is Impromptu, and that was something like a boy band about cats.
SPEAKER_01Okay, continue. Okay, okay. Uh, I'm writing it down just because I I like it, but not for us. For us, uh Braze. No, it's not good. I'm not writing I'm scratching it out. Okay, my next one is a Beatles nod. I don't know why. It is I read the news today. Oh boy.
SPEAKER_02I you know what? I'm not mad at that one either.
SPEAKER_01Fuck yes! Um, because if we're just gonna be having a little catch-up once a week or whatever, like I feel like that's a like I read the news today, oh boy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. I like that. I like that. Well, you leaned hard into the song lyrics, and I kind of strayed away from it.
SPEAKER_01I don't think I have any other songies. Um okay okay, what's your next one?
SPEAKER_02Uh laugh louder.
SPEAKER_01It sounds like a cancer charity or an open night night. An open mic night. Which come to my cancer charity at at the laughter. It does sound like a charity. A tribute to testicular cancer. Laugh louder. Shall we make bracelets? Brent bracelets that say laugh louder. They have balls on them.
SPEAKER_00Shit. No, no, laugh louder.
SPEAKER_01It's like I can see the like the tote bag from the charity event. The whimsical font. Hey, look, it made us laugh louder.
SPEAKER_00It's so bad.
SPEAKER_01I told you, these are not good. No, I love it. I love it. Okay, my next one is is so fucking simple. I'm gonna I'm gonna do like three rapid fire. Ready? Okay convo. Because you always say, like, we have to have a little convo about this.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I'm sure that's probably taken.
SPEAKER_01I'm putting it down for Cornelius to look up.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yes, Cornelius is our producer from last season.
SPEAKER_02Cornelius is still around. He's we we fired him, but he won't leave.
SPEAKER_01Nope, convo's not taken. Really? Convos with kiddos. Convo Chinese, convos convocation unscripted. I think that means something else. Okay, convo. I don't know if it's good though. Just because it's not taken, I don't know. Uh, next one is no news is good news. It sounds like a news podcast podcast. Yeah. Okay, and my last one. Oh, my last one in this series, meh, M P H meh.
SPEAKER_02Meh's pretty good. Yeah, yeah. But how is that not taken?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I didn't do my research. I'm a very good thing.
SPEAKER_02We're gonna have to have us our next episode is gonna be us finding out these are all already names of podcasts.
SPEAKER_01There is no podcast called Meh. Really? Meh. There's a lot of people named Medy.
SPEAKER_02You just busted out the net so fast. I told you this was gonna be fun.
SPEAKER_01Okay, meth going on maybe next to Convo. Okay, you you do some.
SPEAKER_02Here are three really bad ideas in succession.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02Ring a ding dong.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. What about podcast podcasts? It's a podcast called podcast. It's a podcast podcast. Podcast podcast. No? Okay. Uh Swing By with Amy and Jesse.
SPEAKER_01Fully a swingers club, club bar thing. No, yeah. Podcast, podcasts.
SPEAKER_02Not taken. Not tak I looked it up. Podcast, podcast. Not taken.
SPEAKER_00I'm sweating and I can't.
SPEAKER_02Ring a ding dong is off.
SPEAKER_00What song is that from? I don't know. Ding dong. Ring a ding dong.
SPEAKER_02Ring a ding-ding-ding-dong. Oh, that's uh is that Dr. Dre?
SPEAKER_00It is, it's Dr. Dre.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Okay, so those are all off. All right.
SPEAKER_01Um, I've got new newness. No. Nope. Uh oh, I had Matt on here twice. That's so good. Yeah, the listed twice. Um oh, this one is very much inspired by I don't know what. Uh Love You Buy. That's a good one. Love you by.
SPEAKER_02But could that also be like a relationship podcast?
SPEAKER_01I think it's more about the Lovies. I think so. Okay. Uh, under Love You By, I have Hot Goss. Hot Goss. Huck Us.
SPEAKER_02Hakos. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That sounds like a gossip, gossip podcast.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and someone's gonna listen to find out like what's the latest on Summer House, and then we're not gonna be talking about that. So, you know.
SPEAKER_01No, because I don't even know what that is.
SPEAKER_02Um get off my podcast right now.
SPEAKER_01Get off my porch lawn.
SPEAKER_02Maybe this should be called Get Off My Podcast.
SPEAKER_01Get off another. And this is a podcast about jerking off.
SPEAKER_02Oh, this is true.
SPEAKER_01Get off.
SPEAKER_00That's get off on on my podcast. Getting off on my podcast. Okay, okay. The next one is is pretty great. What's up?
SPEAKER_02What's up? No, I'm sorry. That is definitely already taken.
SPEAKER_00What's up?
SPEAKER_02Way too casual.
SPEAKER_01Okay. This one I had two different ways, or three ways, because you can see the the progression. It started as reality bytes, and then it went to reality bits, and then it went to bits. None of which are good.
SPEAKER_02None of them, none of them are good.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay, you go.
SPEAKER_02Are you out? Do you have uh no? I have a couple Nort. I have KIT. Uh which surprisingly is not the name of a podcast.
SPEAKER_01But would it be Keep in Touch in long format and we just call it KIT? I'm putting it down. I think it's good.
SPEAKER_02Keep in touch is already a podcast, but KIT it's not.
SPEAKER_01I so when I when I picture myself with the future name of whatever, I imagine myself at a party and it's loud, and somebody you don't want to be talking to is talking to you, and they're like, What's the name of your podcast? And you put your hand over your mouth and you go, KITCAS podcast.
SPEAKER_00Ring a ding dong.
SPEAKER_02Ding ding dong, the witch is dead. Ding dong, it's a podcast. Ding dong. Knock knock. Yeah, I know. Well, KIT was like earlier in my thought process, so I just kept it on the list. Um, this one I really like, which actually was spurred by a conversation we had earlier today. It's called Tragically Unprepared.
SPEAKER_01Trag I'm writing it down. Tragically unprepared. I'm not mad at it.
SPEAKER_02Because that's what we are.
SPEAKER_01Tragically unprepared with Amy and Jesse.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01I'm not mad at it.
SPEAKER_02Okay. And then my last one might be the best one. Welcome back to high school.
SPEAKER_01The last one is the stop overthinking it, you fucking idiots. Oh, I have more. I have like 10 more at least.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Well, you worked in advertising, so you're you're built for this.
SPEAKER_01I have a need for speed. Um, okay. I'm just gonna go rapidly.
SPEAKER_02Speed three.
SPEAKER_01Speed three. The next more speed. More speed. Even more speedy. Okay. Next one is till the wheels fall off. Eh? I'm not mad at that one either. Oh, you like my long emo names. I do. Okay. Wheels. Fall off. I like how I have to like write down my own name. Uh I think we should just be friends.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_01Relationship. It just gives relationship. Yeah, it gives relationship. Who has a water cooler anyway? No. Very Seinfelde. Uh speaking of which, Flying Frickfeld. I don't know if that's a fuck I was thinking about. Oh. Okay. And then the next one. I walked around for a week thinking I thought of the coolest name for something ever. And then when I googled it, it's Rip City, which is like an entire like Portland. Portland. Portland. I could have told you that. I must have read like some sort of thing that was like Rip City and was like, why has nobody used Rip City as something? Yeah, Rip City's taken.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01Um something remix. Something with the word remix. I don't know. Something remixed. It's a pill that gives worms to ex girlfriends. Um, no, no. Remixed. Remixed. Uh remix? Something remix. I don't know. Okay.
SPEAKER_02This isn't a DJ podcast.
SPEAKER_01What's your podcast called? It's just the sound effect in somebody else, DJ Colors. Oh my god. Um, I'm very mad at that band called the Old 97s.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I thought that was what's your idea? The next name is I'm very mad at that band.
SPEAKER_01I'm very mad at that band. No, the the there's the band called the old 97s, but I feel like we should be able to pick something with 97s because that's when we graduate high school.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I thought we weren't making this about high school.
SPEAKER_01No, but it's the year that we graduated and we were besties, so okay the young 97s. The old and the 97s. Um, okay. Same time next Tuesday. Don't spit water out on your mic. I kind of like that. Same time next Tuesday. Does it sound like therapy though?
SPEAKER_02Snit.
SPEAKER_01Snit.
SPEAKER_02STNT. Same time next Tuesday. Well, you know, this is kind of therapy for us, so I think so. Yeah, I like same time next Tuesday.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Uh next one, not enough caffeine. Because nope. Uh super posse. No. Uh, and the last one, which I added while we were on the phone, cuidado.
SPEAKER_02No Spanish will be spoken on this podcast aside from the word cuidado.
SPEAKER_01Cuidado. Do you think that if people saw a podcast named Cuidado, they'd be like, I'm not fucking listening to Cuidado.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't I don't think I would listen to a podcast called Cuidado.
SPEAKER_01Alright, cuidado's out. Even though it sort of sounds like something else, but I don't know. Uh okay, we have like 15 that are viable that we both like. What do we do now?
SPEAKER_02Let's talk about let now. Let's let's let's go through them again.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Uh kibbitz room.
SPEAKER_02My only issue with this is that not that I don't want people to think that this is a Jewish podcast, but but it's not a Jewish podcast.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's we we're not I'm not going anywhere near Middle East podcast, but podcasts, politics. Not Middle East podcast. Alright, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I can't be buried in a Jewish cemetery, anyways.
SPEAKER_01Neither can I. I have a tattoo. Oh that's right. Tattoo that would negate the burial things. Um, okay, that got dark real fast. Um that got dark real fast.
SPEAKER_02We just took one off and added another.
SPEAKER_01Shhh, it's like fucking uh I don't know. Uh are your ears burning? I feel like that feels like a hot goss type thing, too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay. This is not a gos a gospod. Um company loves misery. I'm still kind of I'm still kind of into it. Yeah. Um friends was taken. I think it's funny, but not like that funny.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_02I think we think it's funny. And that's it.
SPEAKER_01It was going to be called Friends, but it was taken. Um long distance calls. Is that taken? Hang on. Because that feels like did you Google that one?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. Was that one of mine?
SPEAKER_01Uh I think it was, but I think long distance calls taken. Michael Michael Ventura. Megan Spellman. Okay. Uh we've got it's called phone tag. Tag we're it. Um that I hear these other ones. It's yeah. Uh okay. First day at the glue factory. That's so weird. Intriguing. Yeah. I'm just gonna Google it real quick. There's nothing even remotely like it.
SPEAKER_02I I'm kinda into it.
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah. No, nothing like it. Okay, first thing at the glue factory. I love late night pizza. But I wish that if we're gonna call it late night pizza, I think we have to do these in the nighttime with pizza.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely night. No. No. Nope.
SPEAKER_01Okay, uh, I read the news today. Oh boy. I still like that one. Till the wheels fall off. Wait, is till the news I read the news today, oh boy, going to read as a beatles pod.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01Do we give a shit? It's okay, so I think maybe to the m normal human, they're not gonna know that it's a Beatles reference. Cause man, that catalog is deep. You know? Yeah. Um, I have bad news for you. It's taken. Yeah. Good, because that makes it easier. Yeah. Uh a history of rock music.
SPEAKER_02Powell let them have it. They they that makes more sense. I read the news today.
SPEAKER_01Oh boy. Okay. Uh, sorry, Beatles. I love you. We'll we'll do something one day together. Um uh podcast podcast. Not mad at it still.
SPEAKER_02Not mad at it.
SPEAKER_01Love you bye.
SPEAKER_02I I like that too.
SPEAKER_01Um somehow I just word wrote the letter K and it's not making me mad. K K I T. K. Oh, K I T is probably what I was doing. Yeah, we could probably take that off. K I T. K is pretty cool though. KK? It's too close to something not good with lots of case.
SPEAKER_02Uh uh-uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01Um, tragically unprepared. Um, same time next Tuesday, and that got dark real fast.
SPEAKER_02Oh, we got some good ones here.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I think we need to let the people choose.
SPEAKER_02We need to let the people choose. We need to put this on Instagram and have the people choose.
SPEAKER_01Um, oh, I have convo, which I don't think sounds good now. It look it feels convocation-y in this.
SPEAKER_02So, how how many do we have on this list?
SPEAKER_01One, two, three, wait. Uh, wait. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
SPEAKER_02All right, let's try to ni let's try to cut three more. Start from the top.
SPEAKER_01Company loves misery.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01I don't love it as much as the other ones. Is there one called Misery Loves Company? Yes, of course. That's that's a saying. I know that's a saying, but you know, would you like fries with that? It's not always taken.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. This is a podcast.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. In that case, I would mix it because it's already the inverse of it is already taken, you know.
SPEAKER_02Okay, take it off.
SPEAKER_01Misery Loves Company was taken. Um, okay. Uh, same time next Tuesday.
SPEAKER_02There already is a Misery Lives Company. Oh, yeah, okay. Yes. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Uh oh, wait, I have one, like your last one. I have one that that is harkens back to our original name that I forgot about. Um Welcome back. Since high school. Uh-huh. Because we're catching up like since high school. But maybe we're not gonna talk about high school stuff anymore, so maybe we don't need that. Maybe we don't need to hearken back. Oh, we're blowing our nose on the podcast.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I was just dabbing. Dabbing.
SPEAKER_01Don't click the pen, but I'm gonna honk my honker.
SPEAKER_02I didn't honk, I just dabbed.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Uh, till the wheels fall off, tragically unprepared, love you by, podcast, podcast, meh, first day at the glue factory, same time next Tuesday, and that got dark real fast. I think we we le it that's eight. Eight is so many. It's a narrow diamond.
SPEAKER_02Um I think we can take podcast podcast off.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say the same thing, but I like it, but it just doesn't because then it's a podcast podcast called Podcast Podcast. It's too much.
SPEAKER_02You know, I'm gonna I there I love all of these, but I think one that connects the first season to future seasons is same time next Tuesday.
SPEAKER_01Cause we had CU next next Tuesday.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I kinda love it. Uh and also, like, you know, you make a phone date with somebody and we'll like, okay, we'll talk every Tuesday.
SPEAKER_01It doesn't sound like therapy to you though. Like, okay, we'll talk next same time next Tuesday. No, it feels so doctor's appointment-y to me. Okay, so we've got I'm taking KIT off. Love you by meh, tragically unprepared till the wheels fall off, first day at the glue factory, same time next Tuesday. That got dark real fast. I think as much as I love the glue factory, I feel like it kind of doesn't explain doesn't mean anything. Well, it does. It's it's a fucking shitty day of work, but we're it this isn't a podcast about work.
SPEAKER_02No, and it's not shitty. It's great.
SPEAKER_01Yes, exactly. Um, that got dark real fast. This is a not shitty podcast. I think that got dark real fast, same thing. It's a it's a fun saying, but it doesn't it's not gonna be a dark podcast.
SPEAKER_02No, no.
SPEAKER_01Okay, same time next Tuesday. Uh till the wheels fall off. Tragically unprepared, love you by and meh. That's five. That's five. You wanna go with five?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't know if I love Love You Buy as much as the others. I don't either. Okay, great. This is getting easier. Maybe nobody's voting. Um till the wheels fall off. Does that feel like a tour podcast about a band or some shit? Like, you drive it till the wheels fall off? I like you have to explain that to you.
SPEAKER_02I understand, but I'm trying to where in your brain would you be like, oh, this is obviously a podcast about a touring band?
SPEAKER_01Being on the road. Till the wheels fall off. No?
SPEAKER_02To me, when I hear till the wheels fall off, it's like you're just doing something until Till it's dead. Yeah, absolutely can't do it anymore. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's that feels that feels a little too self-deprecating. Yeah. Yeah. What if people listen to this episode and steal all of our bad ideas?
SPEAKER_02If someone comes up, if someone starts podcast, podcasts, I'm gonna be really upset.
SPEAKER_01Friendship bracelets. Okay, so we have tragically unprepared, meh, same time next Tuesday. We have three. How is meh not a podcast? Meh. It's so it's so internet, it's so good. There is a podcast called the Meh Podcast. But that's called the Meh Podcast. We can just have one called meh.
SPEAKER_02Right? There's one called M-E-H, which stands for mystical everyday heroes. Fuck off. A D D podcast.
SPEAKER_01Meh podcast.
SPEAKER_02Then on then there's a Reddit about which meh podcast would have been fire if they'd have fewer fewer episodes.
SPEAKER_01There's several podcasts called Med Podcast. Meh. The Med Podcast Cinemeh podcast. Yeah, they have meh me h period as podcasts. Call meh a podcast. Uh meh, meh is out.
SPEAKER_02The meh show.
SPEAKER_01When I searched meh, I didn't put podcast after it. And uh it didn't nothing came up. But then when I put meh podcast, all the stuff came up.
SPEAKER_02We have two tragic scenes prepared. It's one from each of us, and we did not do that on purpose. I'm so proud of us. I know. We're so diplomatic. So democratic. Democratic? Was that the word I was looking for?
SPEAKER_01No, both are good. Uh also we could call it trash, not trash. Those are the list names that I had. Trash, not trash. Man or astro man, trash or not trash. Same time next Tuesday. Okay, I'm writing one on one piece of paper.
SPEAKER_02Or tragically unprepared.
SPEAKER_01I have to say, I don't think I would wear merch from either of these names. We don't need merch. Everybody needs merch! Okay, well, I think we need to put tragically unprepared and same time. You know, the funny thing is they are opposite names because tragically unprepared is like we are tragically unprepared for our podcast. Whereas the other one, same time next Tuesday, is like, I'll see you next Tuesday, I'm prepared for it.
SPEAKER_02That doesn't mean we're prepared, that just means it's on the calendar.
SPEAKER_01Girl, if it's on the calendar, I'm prepared. Except for today, because I mean this podcast. Except today, because I needed to eat a sandwich, and the sandwich store was full.
SPEAKER_02I just like how both of them really roll off the tongue.
SPEAKER_01They do. I don't like how either of them, though, neither of them lend to good branding or merch. It has to I have to want to wear it on a shirt. I know we're never making a shirt, but that's how I pick my names.
SPEAKER_02Tragically unprepared would be such a great shirt. What are you talking about? Everyone who's tragically unprepared would wear the shirt.
SPEAKER_01You're correct.
SPEAKER_02It's like the shirts that say, like, I need coffee before I do anything, you know?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It could be a pajama, it could be a shirt.
unknownIt could be a pajama.
SPEAKER_02Not plural, it's a pajama. It's one pajama. You wear your pajama. Llama llama red singular pajama. You don't wear two pajamas.
SPEAKER_01But you say I have to go put on my pajamas. Not my pajama.
SPEAKER_02Maybe I say I put on pajamas.
SPEAKER_01Fuck your pajama. You never say singular pajamas.
SPEAKER_02It could be on a coffee mug. Oh my god, a coffee mug. They're both good on you're right.
SPEAKER_01You've completely changed my mind. You know, uh I've been told in my life that I'm a stubborn person, but I feel like you're like one of the few people on the planet that can change my mind. Do you think I'm stubborn? I don't think so. Great, we did therapy. We're good. It'll be $280.
SPEAKER_02Uh no, I don't think so. Well, no, the answer would be like, well, do you want to be stubborn? Do you not want to be stubborn? And then when you answer it, I'll just agree with you.
SPEAKER_01No, you're not. People pleasing. People pleasing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, I think you are right. I'm I'm thinking too small. I'm thinking a t shirt. You're like, it's a mug, it's a pajama, it's a oh it's a trucker hat. It's a nobody tragically unper Oh, they're everywhere. Everyone wears trucker hats in Ting Tong, Tennessee, where I live. That's where you the rest of the country.
SPEAKER_02Nobody wears trucker hats. But a hat, yes, a hat.
SPEAKER_01A dad hat, a five panel hat, a button. I'm kind of envisioning it kind of in script. I'm that kind of envisioning it in Comic Sans or the 70s fuzzy letter font.
SPEAKER_02Oh.
SPEAKER_01Like the Ironon letters.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Or maybe a mishmash of both.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I mean it doesn't have to have it doesn't have to have a logo. It's just the name.
SPEAKER_01Well, we got that logo. There will, but there will be a logo on the icon in the podcast. You might deny me merch, but there has to be a visual element of a fucking five by five square on the podcast.
SPEAKER_02I'm not denying you anything. You sure are. You can have the whole pajamas. I want a pajum. Veruca, you can have it all, okay? I want a golden goose now, Danny. Oh my god. Alright, are we calling this podcast Tragically Unprepared?
SPEAKER_01No, we're gonna let the people decide.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Well, people you should be able to do that.
SPEAKER_01All seven of them. All seven peoples.
SPEAKER_02You could call our our hotline.
SPEAKER_01Call the hotline and tell us what you think. Um, we'll also put up a a voting uh Instagram-y thing. Or should we just do the hotline? Hotline only.
SPEAKER_02No, I think we should do both. Let's diversify.
SPEAKER_01We should say goodbye. We did it.
SPEAKER_02We should.
SPEAKER_01We named it. We named our podcast. Should we have like option one, option two, or option three? You guys are nuts and these are both terrible.
SPEAKER_02Um, well, on the hotline, I think you could call in and and tell us if any of our final ideas are good or if you have a better one.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Better one is go fuck yourself.
SPEAKER_02Better one is I thought it was a Pearl Jam song. That's called Better Man. Maybe we should just call a better one.
SPEAKER_01Do you have a better one? Um, I like that. And I like Big Butts. Um great. We did it. Uh is this we could call this episode zero. Episode Zero! Season two, episode zero. Yeah. Okay. Okay, say bye to the nice people. Bye, nice people.
