A brilliant slice of sci-fi that came out of nowhere (well, actually from South Africa) to blow us all away, Neill Blomkamp's "District 9" is my movie of the year for 2009. An oddly affecting 'alien invasion' movie like nothing before or since, it was a decent-sized hit at the time, but deserves to have been enormous!
