Are we lying? We lie. So why ain't gonna cover you? Yo, we back. Um you know why I'm here. Unless you've been living under a rock, you know what happened. Um I'm recording this our Tuesday night, well really Wednesday, what's that 1 a.m. So Monday the big shit happened. Youngest to Miami. We gotta talk about it. So let's start. I mean, I'm not gonna lie, I mean, there are like three perspectives here, pre- perspectives here that matter, really. Maybe maybe four, but I mean Miami perspective, the Giannis perspective, the Lux perspective, and the field perspective in terms of who else could have maybe got Giannis. But let's start in Miami because they're the team that ended that uh landed Giannis after the long ass trade saga. Since I mean, I don't even know when you would say it started, but um felt like we all knew this was coming around the trade deadline. It felt like the Bucks had admitted he has to go. Uh, I think the owner basically said he has to either extend or retrade him. Um, and of course they wanted to trade him before the draft so they can get uh they know what picks they have and stuff. But let's start with Miami. Um point blank, this is a no-brainer trade for the Miami Heat. Um, based on what they gave up and what they got back. Uh if you I mean if you're not aware of what they gave up, they gave up Tyler Hero, Khalil Ware, uh Yakachonis, Jaime Hawkes, um, and the 13th pick in this draft, 2020 2031 and 2033 unprotected picks, 2030 swap. Um, I think it was uh another second round pick in the future. Um, and they took back Bobby Purtis' uh contract along with Giannis Um in the deal. So, I mean, to me, none of those young players that they gave up are players I feel like you're gonna regret dumping. Or dumping is the wrong word because they got traded for Giannis. But I don't think the Miami Heat are gonna look back in 10 years and be like, damn, we gave up Himyhakas or you know Kiloware, you know, and that's that's not even if you get a Timichi out of this. Like, I mean, I think even Miami Heat fans will agree those are not you know, none of those guys are future all-star type guys, you know what I mean? Um, and I know Tyler Harrow made an all-star game, but let's be for real, that guy. I mean, I'll get into him in a second, but like, so let's talk about those individually, those players, you know. Khalil Ware, I think, has kind of been talked about as the like premier uh young asset that the Bucks are getting in this trade, you know, along with the 13th pick. But in terms of players, he's looked at as probably the most the highest ceiling guy, I would guess. Um, and in my opinion, I don't really see it with him, but uh of course he's a guy with like you know with the with the potential of a really um dynamic skill set, right? Like he's a seven-footer, long arms, uh pretty athletic, pretty, you know, mobile and whatnot. Um has some shooting ability, has some uh ability to finish in the paint, catch lobs, uh offensive rebounds, stuff like that. Um, so there is a world where he's like a really dynamic two-way big, but as of right now, I think defensively he's got a long way to go. I think his this his awareness in general is pretty um pretty poor. And like I think the fact that Miami with only one real big on the roster in BAM and for long parts of the year, Spo was like, yeah, I'm not playing Khalilware. Like that just that has to matter, it just does. Like, um, and on top of that, there's been like some some work ethic stuff that keeps following him, you know, from college to the NBA. I mean, there was some it felt like it was some weird like quotes in the media between him and Spo. They're going back and forth throughout the year. Um, so yeah, I mean, is there a world where Kalilware is a high level big? Yeah, but I think you're chasing potential a bit too much there, in my my opinion, especially when you're talking about a Giannis trade. Like, bro, I'm gonna need a little more certainty from my trade package. But um moving on, next player, Tyler Hero to me is just not a good player, you know, not a player you want to trust on in the playoffs in any type of form. In the regular season, is he like a fine, you know, like bench scorer? Like, yeah, I can I guess so. Um, I know he made an all-star game last year, but that was off some crazy hot shooting, which did not sustain. Um, he's a terrible defender. Um he I mean part of the reason you know stuff went wrong in Miami is he was kind of tired of coming off the bench. Um, he was kind of insisting on becoming a starter, and when he became a starter, the Miami Heat became a worst team. Like in 2022, when he was a sixth man, um, they were the one seed. After that, he became a starter. They were like what in the play-in, I think, in 2024. Um, and they've been a play-in team since. So I don't think it's a coincidence, to be honest with you. And on top of that, he's always hurt. Um, like always hurt. Um expiring contracts. So even if you think like he's a good player or whatever, you have to pay him again despite always being hurt. So um, yeah, I'm not a fan of Tyler Hero. Um, I understand he provides some sort of you know three-point volume, some sort of scoring floor and whatnot, but just never really been a fan of this game. Um Jaime Hawkes, I mean to me, like he's a fine player, like he's a fine, he's a good solid, like bench piece, in my opinion. Like, he could have he could have easily won like six man of the year this season, and that would have been a valid, you know, award. Of course, somehow Kelden Johnson won that shit, but hey, that's a discussion for another day. But uh with him he hawkins it's not like there's an all-star leap in there at this point. He's already 25. I think he's turning 26 kind of soon. Um, and now he's entering his fourth year in the league, so he's gonna be doing extension. Um yeah, I'm not I mean he's fine, he's like a fine piece, you know, in a trade, I guess you could say. Um, and the last piece, Yakushonis, the point guard they drafted um in last year's draft, I think it was like around 20 or so. Um, to be honest with you, I've not watched a ton of him that much. Um, I do know he's like a talented shooter, ball handler, passer type. So maybe he could be something, but um, yeah, I'm not gonna give too much uh to talk about him. But let's talk about the picks that the the Bucks got from Miami, like I said, uh 2026 number 13, which they just used on Nate Ament, who I'm not gonna pretend to be some draft expert, but everybody that I've seen absolutely hates Nate Ament. So I guess we'll see how that goes. And on top of that, the Bucks drafting history is not good in the slightest, especially the last few years. Uh, but 2026 number 13, 2031, unprotected, 2020, 2033, unprotected, 2030 swap, and like I said, I think there's another second round pick in there, which we'll see if that matters. Um, but the thing with these picks are like these picks are just so far in the future that it's really hard to know what type of upside they're gonna have because 2030s. I mean, is Giannis still playing for the Heat at that point? Is you know, is Bolster still the coach? I would think so, but who knows? Who's in charge of the organization at that point? Like, there's so much that could change in the next four or five years that you you don't even know what those pace could be. Like, I mean, one thing we will say is though, like over the last fucking hell, 15, 10, 10, 15 years, the Miami Heat have not tanked a single time in that period. Um, I think the last time you could say they tanked was like the Michael Beasley draft. But like, since then they've been at the very least in that like 8, 9, 10 range, like seating-wise. So I think if the most likely outcome to me would be like mid-round first picks, um, or maybe I think best like the best case would be like a mid-round first pace, mid-round first picks. Um, and that's in five years. Like, is first of all, is John Horst, the current GM, gonna be there to make that tree? Is the owner like this? I've got there's so much that could change in the next four to five years that I don't even know how to process the value of those picks to Milwaukee or from Miami in the meantime. Um yeah, let's uh so let's let's get into what the Heat are as a team now, what they could be for the next couple years or so. Um as currently stands, I would say the mighty the Miami roster is mediocre as hell. Like um Shams and Wendy both came out and said today that it's unlikely that Norman Powell comes back. To be honest with you, I I'm not a fan of Norman Powell anyway, so I don't really find that much of a loss for the Heat. But like they got Giannis, they've got Bam, they've got Davion Mitchell, they got Andrew Wiggins. As of now, they have Andrew Wiggins, but he can opt out, and then once he is the market, what could happen, right? So I don't know. I thought Miggins, I think, will be there probably. I would assume they would want to keep him. Um, they have Jovich, who I think sucks. They have Pelle Larson, who's like like an alright, you know, backup wing, I would say. Uh of course they got Bobby Portis in the trade from uh the Milwaukee Bucks, but like you know, that's that's it. And I think the biggest thing is that you have to be bullish on Eric Spoolstra working with a player as talented as Giannis, right? Like, if you think of him working with superstars in the past, like LeBron and Jimmy Butler, especially. Um, giving him credit for LeBron feels kind of cheap, right? There's LeBron fucking James, but Jimmy Butler elevated to a whole new level under Spo. Now part of that was just Jimmy Butler himself, I'm sure, but like I think you have to give uh Spo some credit for that. So him working with a player as good as Giannis. I mean, that's a scary sight for sure. Now, the rest of the roster is severely lacking in ball handling and shooting. Like, I like Davion Mitchell as a player, but the fact that everyone is just penciling him in as a starting point guard on a team that's trying to supposedly compete for a championship is kind of bonkers to me. Like, I don't I don't think this guy, I think this guy ideally is like a backup third guard on a serious team. Um, and even that needs to be proven, I would say, because he's not played in any meaningful games. Like the playing game he just played against Charlotte, which he was balling about to be fair, is like the most meaningful game he's played in in his career, basically. Um and the thing is, like I said, I don't think the Heat will regret giving up what they did for Giannis, but they did pretty much give up everything they have, and even if everything they have isn't that like big a deal to lose, it leaves you in a position where you don't have much to fill out the rest of the roster properly. And one thing we've seen over the last couple of years, like, yes, star power matters for sure in the league, but weaknesses get picked at like crazy in the playoffs. Like, if you look at the teams that won championships over the last three or four years, they were like pretty complete teams, you know, like not a lot of holes in the in there to pick at. Now, like I said, you have to be bullish on the combination of BAM, Spo, Giannis, but the rest of the team is gonna be. I mean, it's they gotta fill it out. We gotta see, like, um, and we had I mean to be fair, we have to all we have to also acknowledge their the Miami Heat's ability to like find and develop like just guys off the scrap heat into role players, like you know, Duncan Robinson, uh Gabe Vincent, uh Max Struce, like all these guys. I mean, there's more guys, I'm sure, but like um, they've definitely been able to find guys to fit into roles, you know, and play at a high enough level. I was more than high enough. I mean, what what some of those guys did in some playoff games is crazy. Um, but at the end of the day, we can talk about how you know the roster is lacking, they gave up too much, they don't have much left, they're not a real contender, yada yada. We can do we can go into all that, right? At the end of the day, with Giannis, the Miami Heat have a path, you know, in front of them to do something like relevant. Because, I mean, over the last couple years, I would say since they're since they made the finals in 2023, they've been the most like painfully directions directionless uh organization in basketball. Like them and the Warriors are just like you're watching them like bro, do something, pull off something. Um, and they finally did. They pulled off uh the biggest thing you could possibly think of, you know, in the NBA, like realistically. Um so yeah, they did it. You gotta you gotta give it to them. Um yeah, and the Bam Giannis front court, I mean, offensively, I'm interested to see how it works. Like, you know, Bam has become more of a stretch five um over the last like one and a half years, but um he's still to me still I need the the him shooting the ball is still a big question to me. Um, and both of them working on offense is still I gotta see what it looks like to be honest with you. But um defensively, it's gonna be crazy on the boards, it's gonna be crazy. Um they're gonna be a serious matchup problem, especially in the playoffs, um, for teams in the east. Um, because if you look at the east right now, like who the hell is the Giannis matchup? Like, I don't see anyone like in previous years, that was bam out of he were the honest matchup. It was him, it was Al Horford, like those the only guys that you would look at in the East as like guys that could you know slow down Giannis. I'm saying slow down in quotes because he's gonna get his game off regardless, but like those are the guys that really could like slow him down, and one of them is on his team, the other one is on the verge of retiring either this year or next. So um, despite the rest of the roster being a huge question mark, um, it's gonna be something that team is gonna be recorded with for sure. Um now moving on to the the field, you know, who else could have got Giannis, should have made an attempt to get Giannis, all that. Now, it was reported by numerous sources that Giannis would extend with the Heat, which he will probably do in October, but that he would also extend with the Celtics and with the Timberwolves. Um, and Chris Haynes, who has obviously close ties to Giannis, did say that Miami was not his first destination. Not his preferred destination, I should say. Um that's that's something to consider. And I'm gonna start with the Celtics because one, that's my team, two, it felt like they were in it the closest with Miami. Um, and this is no exaggeration, like a huge moment in the franchise history at this point. Maybe it's a bit dramatic, but like this is crushing, like this is era altering, this is like legacy altering for everyone in the franchise for the next five or so years. I mean, you had in front of you a path to one of the best duos in NBA history, point blank. I mean, two guys in their prime that with complementary skill sets that I mean you need to double team both these guys, you know, you need to commit like two, three bodies to both of these guys, you know, like one player that Jason Tatum has to be guarded from the logo, and one player Giannis, who's I mean, the most dominant paint scorer since Shaquille O'Neal, basically, you know. Um, and ever and thing is, from a Celtic's perspective, every other fan base in the NBA is popping Champagne that the Celtics didn't land Giannis and pair him with Jason Tatum. Like, do you know how happy the New York Knicks are right now? The I mean the Sixers, I guess you could say, uh, the Cavs, the Pistons, uh, the Pacers, uh, the Thunder, the Spurs, all these teams that are gonna be in the mix. I mean, of course, the Heat of I mean, obviously, uh as well. All the teams that are gonna be in the Knicks in the mix for the next couple years are like praying, like thanking the heavens that they that this this the setups didn't land, Giannis, in the trade. Um, and that is just crushing, honestly. Um, and I mean some of this, okay. So I'm I'm gonna give you my my perspective on this, but like to me, once you're in, and it was reported that they're in from various people across the time. I mean, Bill Simmons was the first to really come out and say, like, okay, they're in for Giannis. Um, and then the Monday of the trade that morning, it comes out from basically all media that yep, they're in for Giannis, they're they're offering Jalen Brown for Giannis, and it's between Miami and Boston. Once it comes down to that, you just have to secure Giannis. I just I'm sorry you do. Like, um, and Jalen Brown and two first round picks, one of them I'm presumably being the 27th pick in the draft that just happened. That is not a serious offer. I'm sorry, it just isn't. Like, I'm sure people can be like, it's a fair offer, it's a fair offer. It's like, bro, once you're in a bidding war, you're not in the business to make a fair offer. You're in the business to get the trade done, especially when the reward on the other side is Giannis Antelecumpo and Jason Tatum on the same team. Like, oh man, I'm playing mad low all over again. Um and yeah, so after the trade happened, Shalom's come out and said that the Celtics offered Jalen Brown and two firsts for Giannis, and the Bucks wanted more assets. Um, and based on what he said, um You know, there's been some misinterpretation, in my opinion, of what he said. I think some people are interpreting what you said to say that they wanted Hugo and Baylor and picks and swaps, along with the Jalen and the two first. I don't think that's what Shans was saying. I think what he was saying was that the Bucks wanted more assets than what the Celtics offered, and the Celtics were just not interested in adding you know more picks and young players, and that to me is just insane, to be honest with you. Um like I like Hugo Gonzalez quite a bit. I think he's gonna be a really good starter in the NBA. He is not a player you blink at trading for Giannis. Bear Sharman, whose name wasn't brought up, I think he's a nice bench piece in the NBA. But bro, he's 26 years old, and we didn't play him in the playoffs already this year. He is certainly not a player you blink in a Giannis trade. Like another first or two when you're a franchise that never tanks, like Miami, is not something you blink at getting for Giannis. Like, once you're like I said, once you're in, you've got to be all in. This is Giannis, and you're in competition with your biggest rival the last 10 years. Um yeah, I just think it's a big failure from the organization. Um, I think now you're kind of left in a situation where they're probably gonna look to trade Jalen Brown. Um because I think they're I think I think the Celtics want to trade Jalen Brown. I just don't think they want to extend him on the Super Max contract. And I think there's just gonna be growing tension between Jalen and the franchise. And honestly, I can't blame Jalen for having you know any if you were to ask out in a trade, I couldn't blame him. If you were to be like annoyed or whatever, I couldn't blame him because I mean he's you know he's the finals MVP, he's uh all star all NBA, and he's been in the trade trade rumors for the last like three or four years, you know, and he's been offered point blank offered in trades twice in the last what four years, yeah, four years basically. Now I'm not Gonna act like the Celtics are a bad organization for trying to trade Jalen Brown. Like, look, they try to trade him for Giannis and Kevin Durant, like players that are just better than him, right? They're doing what they're they're doing what they feel like is the best to win championship, and every fan base wants their team to operate like that. Um, so I can't blame the Celtics for that. I can't blame Jalen for being anywhere with that. It's just how the business is, you know what I mean? Um, and I can't blame the Celtics for being like, yeah, we don't feel great about a 70 million per year extension for Jalen Brown. I I get it, you know what I mean? Um, but the issue now is Um I'm almost certain you're gonna trade him for a package with a player nowhere near as good as Jalen Brown because um the teams that are gonna want him, which has been like rumored to be Portland, Atlanta, maybe Houston, uh, maybe the Pelicans, none of those teams have a player better than Jalen Brown. Now you could argue Kevin Durant in that situation, of course, but like he's like damn near 40. He's got some baggage with the burner account stuff. So, I mean, that's that's in the complex situation. But like, the thing is with trading Jalen Brown is you're almost definitely gonna be worse in the short term, but there is a path to being better in the long term, right? Like, if you get let's just say, for example, the Pelicans, they trade you their first round picks for the next I don't know, a couple drafts or whatever. Like, yeah, is there a world the Pelicans are a clown organization and suck and you get like top 10 picks from them? Yeah, I think it's possible. Could that be traded for the next big star that comes available? Yeah, it's possible. So, like in the long run, could it work out? Yeah, but that path is way more complex. In the short term, you're almost definitely gonna be um worse. So, yeah, it's um it's is I mean this this offseason and the next for Brad Stevens, man, his rep is on the line like never before. And that sounds crazy with all what with all he did over the last what three or four years, but man, he really bungled this whole situation in my opinion, and his neck is on the line, bro. Like for real. Um because what if he trades Jalen Brown for like I don't know, Trey Murphy and a couple firsts or something like that, the there's gonna be no one happy with that. Like, when if you was if you were trading Jalen Brown for Giannis, like the fan base would be kind of split. There'd be like people that are happy because the team is better, and then there'd be people that were that would be like, damn, I get Giannis is better, but I fuck with Jalen Brown as a player, you know, as a homegrown star and all that. I'm kind of sad. But if you trade him for a mediocre package like that, or just like a middling young player and a couple picks, man, nobody is gonna be happy. You're gonna be enemy number one in Boston for a little bit. And like I said, as crazy as that sounds, as all he did as a general manager and as a coach, he's still gonna be uh yeah, most wanted for a little bit. Um, but that's all for the Celtics. On to Minnesota, which it's almost kind of going under the radar, how awful it is going for them um of late. You know, of course they lost to the Spurs in six games, or rather uncompetitive six games, I would say, to be honest with you. Um, of course, Anthony Edwards was hurt, which didn't help at all, but um, they did not look like they were on the Spurs level, to be honest with you. Um, and the Spurs, you still haven't done the finals, so that's the levels are are kind of be shown to Tim Rules, and to be honest, the last three years they've kind of went out in a similar fashion. Now they went to conference finals instead of the second round, but yeah, it's kind of been a trend that they hit a ceiling and then they're not on that level at all. But um, yeah, of course, there's them on Monday they gave away Julius Randle. Um, they had to salary dump him to get off him. Uh they chried down five spots, and they immediately followed that up by giving a hundred million dollars, 110-112 million dollars over five years with the player option for Ayuda Sumu. Now, Ayuda Sumu is like a decent bench card to me, ideally, right? But and he is not worth that money that he got, and I think they're overreacting to him having an out-of-body experience versus the Nuggets in the first round, um, and it's kind of being forgotten that he was pretty terrible the next round against the Spurs. Um, and and just to like rewind a bit, like the fact they've gave what like 22 million to Aodisumu a year after not paying Nikula Walker, uh, significantly less money, by the way. And I would say that Alexander Walker's a good amount better, like a real good amount better. Um it's kind of a disaster, I'll be honest with you. It's kind of a disaster. Um, not as big a disaster as salary dumping Julius Randler after Julius Randall after you traded Carl Anthony Towns for him and watched him become a massive piece on the championship team. Um, and there have been some you know reports that Ant has not been happy since that happened, and yada yada. We'll see, I don't know. Um, but I mean I I feel like it's kind of going under the radar that Giannis said he would extend in Minnesota and they were not really aggressive at offering Jaden McDaniels and Nasreed or wherever they had to get him. Like, am I going insane? That really happened. Like, I remember around the trade deadline, it was kind of rumored that Giannis had a lot of interest in Minnesota. He wanted to play with Anthony Edwards, yada, and it felt like a trade was about to get done, but then Milwaukee was like, nah, we can get more than this. Um and the summer comes, and they're not really in the picture, but like they kind of got snuck in at the end that yeah, he would have signed in Minnesota, and they just wanted to make they just wanted their pieces, and Minnesota was like, nah, we're gonna you know bank on internal development, which is like whoa, whoa there. Um, and the biggest you know ramification of this whole thing is that it feels like they're on the clock with Anthony Airwards in terms of you know his future with the franchise. Um, and the issue for them is they gotta reshape this team quite a bit, and they don't really have a ton of assets. Like they traded a lot of firsts in the Rudy Gobert trade famously. Um Rudy Gobert has been everything they hoped him to be. But um the real blunder to me was the Rob Bellingham trade where they offered where they gave up two first-round picks for him. Um and he was a complete bust. He gave them absolutely nothing. Um, and then they attached a lot of second-round picks to to Rob to get Aodasumu, and then they're giving this massive contract to Aodasuma. So that whole transaction just was an absolute nightmare. Um, I don't know how they get this team into legit contention fast to convince Ant to stay long term, but hey, I don't know, man. It's it's it's looking tough. Um I mean they're banking on Jerry McDaniel. I mean, there was a report said that they're banking on addition by subtraction with Julius Randle that they think you know more Nasreed, more J McDaniels on the ball is gonna be fruitful for them. And I'm just I'm just like, I don't know, as quite the quite the hill to die on, if I'm being honest with you. I would have rather just go all in on Giannis and Anthony. We're just doo and figure the rest out later. Um, yes, that's it on Minnesota. And in a more broad sense, I'm just like, am I going crazy? Why are there not more teams just making fucking offers for Giannis? Like, I'm stunned that there aren't more there were more teams aggressively chasing him. Like, I mean, Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City, uh, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, all these teams should have been making like grandfather offers for Giannis. Like, I know he was probably not gonna sign there, but like just do it on a Kawhi, Paul George type thing. If you remember, Kawhi Leonard was quite it was very well known he was not gonna stay in Toronto, and it was he made it very clear that he did not want to be in Toronto. He left Toronto despite winning the championship. Um, but to be fair, the Paul George is you know proof of concept of it maybe working out. Like he wanted to be a Lakers when he was leaving the Pacers. The Thunder swooped swooped in to get him, um, and they eventually convinced him to re-sign. Now, of course, they eventually turned that into the massive SGA Trevor Clippers, but they got they brought in Paul George, he had a great year, the team was pretty good, not great, but pretty good. He got it, he got along with Russell Westbrook, and they kept him. I'm stunned that nobody took that chance with Giannis this offseason. Like, it's just crazy, like if I'm a Denver Nuggets, I'm offering everything but Jokic for Giannis and just being like, yo, let's go at it. I dare you to leave playing with Nicole Jokic for a year. You know what I mean? Like, I dare you to play with Jokic for a year and leave. That's what I would have been on. Like, you can take Jamal Murray, you can take uh anyone, anyone we have and picks we have, you can take them. I just want to have Giannis and Jokic, and I dare you to leave that. That's what it would have been me. Like the Houston Rockets. What what what is going on? Like, what is going on? You could have got Giannis, you could have definitely got Giannis. Um Orlando Magic, you could have got Giannis for Paulo Bancaro, and I would've done that, I would've done that for sure. Um, so yeah, I'm kind of baffled at the lack of aggressiveness when it came to trading for Giannis. But I don't know, I guess Giannis made it clear, like, yo, if you're not one of these three teams, don't come get me. Um, we have to go to the Bucks perspective in this um uh in this whole ordeal. Um, I mean we can talk about the we can talk about the haul they got. Like I said, I'm not a big fan of the players they got from Miami like that. They are like could they flip them for other pieces or other picks in the future? Maybe. Um, but really we're not gonna be able to evaluate the haul they got until you know those picks land where they do, you know. But one thing I will say is that it's absolutely incredible that John Horst was employed to even make this trade in the first place. Like, the fact we've gone to the place where Giannis is leaving the Bucs and it's just accepted that yep, they're gonna trade the greatest player in franchise history for sure. Um, inside the conference, by the way, that they're gonna do that is just bonkers. Like, this is the best player that he that I mean I know Kareem played for the Bucs, but I mean if you're a Bucs fan, Giannis is your goat, I'm sure of that. So it's incredible that the re the put the read the general manager that is the reason why Giannis is leaving is able to trade him is just bonkers. Um and for the Bucs, like the Giannis era to me ended whenever Chris. I mean, since Chris Middleton basically had his career drilled by injury, they've just been done. Like they tried to save it with the Drew for Dame trade, but the rest of the team was just too terrible. Um they obviously obviously bungled the coaching stuff horrendously. Um yeah, just just a bad franchise. And I'll be honest with you, I don't think this team is gonna be relevant for a long time. I just don't. I mean, they don't have their picks obviously going forward. I don't like any of their players as real building blocks. I think the organization is ran by clowns, but in terms of ownership and general manager and front office, they're not a destination or free agency. Uh the new lottery odds are gonna make it so that if you're one of the worst teams in the league, you're in big trouble. Um yeah, just it's bleak. And they would have undoubtedly undoubtedly got more for Giannis if they had shopped him when he had originally asked for a trade, which is I I guess last summer, according to Shams. If they had shopped him then, they would have got f an unholy offers for him. Like who knows what they would have got crazy offers for him, and now they're kind of left with taking the Miami's playing roster, you know what I mean? So yeah, Milwaukee Bucks, I don't think it'll be much of a talking point for the foreseeable future, if I'm being honest with you. Um But now, the last uh perspective in this is Giannis himself. Um, I think anyone that isn't a Miami Heat fan can acknowledge that they are still a fair bit away from being a real contender. Now, like I'm not talking about win a series, win two series, I'm talking about bona fide top three or four uh championship contender. You know, like the season starts and the bookies got you up there for the best team in the league. Now, the betting odds is not everything, but you know, you know what I'm saying. Like, you know, a hardline contender, and I think anyone that's not a He fan, and I think even Enti fans will acknowledge the team is fair, you know, a far bit away from that. Like, yeah, they people say this about Jimmy Butler too, but lightning doesn't always strike twice when it comes to stuff like that. So um, and I think from Janna's perspective, if he was paired with Jason Tatum or Anthony Edwards, they would have been a title favorite pretty immediately, pretty immediately. Um, especially Jason Tatum because the Celtic still had a fair amount of depth around him. Joe Mozilla is along with Spoolstra would say has been able to develop, you know, guys that people thought didn't have much. So I think in terms of winning a championship, I don't think he picked the I don't think he ended up in the best situation. Is there a path to compete for a championship? Yes, I do think it is possible within the next three or four years for that to happen. Do I think it's gonna be do I think it's as clear as other options were? Like it, like especially Minnesota and Boston? No. Do I blame him for you know showing some loyalty to Milwaukee and not like demanding a trade to Boston or whoever and making sure he's on his decked roster? Do I blame him for that? I don't know. I don't know how to feel about that. Like one way to look at it is they took a chance on him when he was like a nobody in Greece. He was like this completely raw prospect that nobody had even barely even watched. Um, and they believed in him, yada yada, all that stuff. But then part of me is like, bro, they just wasted the last what four years of your career. I mean, he's not won a series since they won the championship. Or no, since 2022 against the Bulls in that first round series. They've not won a series, like they've been on bullshit. Like they don't they don't deserve anything you give them at this point. So I don't know. I don't know what to think with that. But um, yeah, for the for the Heat, it's gonna be I mean for the Heat, they got their guy, they always seemingly get their guy, and I mean I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of work for them to do going forward. Um yeah, that's all I got on the Yannis trade. The World Cup is obviously happening um as we speak. Um, I'm probably gonna do like a pod about the first the group stage at some point, you know, kind of wrapping up all the the first round, I guess it is, and I'm saying. Uh and stuff like that. So yeah, I'll get to that next week on the pod. But for now, I had to have to of course talk about Giannis getting traded to the Heat. But uh until then, I'll see y'all.
