The Passport to Education® podcasts are intended to empower you. Our primary focus is for you to learn about your civil rights in higher education. Also how to make a request to your college for your civil rights. Seeking approval for your civil rights can result in an accommodations plan that you and your college agree upon when they approve you. You first need to bring documentation of disability to the college. But - aren't there more steps such as paying for your classes? Yes! A huge barrier to attending college is how to fund attending college. In this podcast we want to help remove the financial barrier by providing information about free tuition programs. Let's bust this financial barrier together with Part 1 and Part 2 of the "Paying for College with Free Financial Resources" podcasts. Listen and take notes about strategies and names of programs to discuss with your college. If your disability causes a barrier to reading, understanding or filling out paperwork to apply for college programs, ask for help from your college Financial Aid Department. The Office of Services to Students with Disabilities may also be a help to you. Thank you for listening!
