11. What Are You Available For?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode of Designed for More, I share a raw transmission sparked by a deep wave in my own life and marriage.
We often say we’re devoted to thriving, abundance, intimacy… but what are we actually available for? What unconscious energetic contracts are we living inside — agreements we never consciously chose?
This is an invitation to pause, breathe, and get honest:
✨ What are you no longer available for?
✨ What are you truly devoted to?
I share personal stories, Human Design insights, and a practice to help you realign your availability with your devotion — so that life can meet you where you really are.
Want to go deeper with this?
I’ve created an energetic repatterning called Rewriting Your Availability to support this work in the body.
This short activation helps you feel what you’re no longer available for, release outdated energetic contracts, and anchor new devotion that reflects who you are now.
A powerful reset when your energy feels overextended or misaligned.

Welcome to Designed for More, a podcast about what it means to live in alignment with who you really are. I'm Julie, former CEO Turned Human Design Guide and Soul-led Enpreneur. Here we explore the journey of remembering your true nature and creating a life that feels deeply good from the inside out. Because you were never meant to settle. You were designed for more. Welcome back to Designed for More. Today I'm inviting you to enter a space of gentle but radical inquiry with me. A space where I currently am. I'm inviting you to meet me where I'm at, to turn inward, to look at and perhaps rewrite, I hope rewrite what we're actually available for. I've been having a moment in my own life recently where I realize that I've been tolerating things I'm just simply no longer in resonance with. So let's begin. And I'd like to start with a question. It's a simple one, but not an easy one. What are you available for? And when I say you, I mean the real you, the unmasked you, the you that's underneath the performance and the conditioning. What do you actually consent to energetically, spiritually, physically, in the literal architecture of your life? What are you truly available for? If I'm being honest, there was a long stretch in my life where the answer was, I'm available for being needed, I'm available for carrying the weight, for being the stable one, the capable one, the do-it-all one. I told myself that I was devoted to peace, but in truth, I was available for pressure, for proving, and eventually, again and again, for burnout. And maybe you can relate. Maybe you say you're devoted to rest, abundance, ease, but your calendar, your nervous system, your relationships, they all say otherwise. Maybe you've made unconscious agreements that sound like, I'll be the one who keeps everything together. I'll dim my light so that you don't feel threatened, or I'll stay small if it makes you feel safe. And I get that because these contracts begin with love, with a deep desire to belong or to feel safe and to not rock the boat. But at some point, these contracts can and should expire because the pattern starts to feel like a cage. Let me bring it into the present for me. This question of what am I available for became very alive for me in a deeply personal way. My husband, who is a 2-4 manifesting generator, has been building his micro bakery Elman Ash for a few years now. And there are so many things about it that are beautiful and brave. He's creating with his hands something he longed to do when he was sitting in front of a computer for so many years. He's building something real, something healthy, something great for our community and their guts and the way that they physically feel. It's rooted in his Nordic lineage, his artistry, and his real devotion. But if I'm being honest, there's also parts of it that feel brutal. Twelve to 14 hour bake days, like five days a week, workspaces that felt like survival more than thriving, days and days and days where the kids and I don't see him. And sometimes it feels more like he's enduring, that we're enduring more than living. And while it can sometimes feel brutal, I'm also so grateful truly for the container it's created, for the way his work has given me space to step into mine because he began it when I stepped out of my previous life, when I walked away from the corporate world, when I walked away from my six-figure CEO job, and not having anything lined up afterward, not knowing how we were going to resource ourselves. So his building gave me time to study and build my practice of human design, to raise our kids in my rhythm and our rhythm, to even know what our rhythm was, to explore and feel and embody my feminine, to feel and embody my sacral yes, to really honor my sacred nos, to launch my business. But the other day something in me shifted and I felt it rise up like a wave, which isn't a surprise because I hold an emotional authority with a wave that feels like buildup and release. So it wasn't a thought, it wasn't a theory, it was like a full body truth. And the words that came out of me were I am no longer available for the energy of survival and struggle in our home. I am so proud of the work that I've done to look at, to work with, and I believe to transcend a long lineage of struggle and survival. But now I'm realizing that I'm still available for it in my orbit, in our home. And we all make these unconscious energetic contracts. We don't even realize it half the time. Maybe we inherited survival energy from our parents or grandparents, and without knowing, we signed an agreement that says this is what life feels like, like struggle, like hustle, like barely enough. Or maybe we absorbed cultural scripts that say we should grind or overgive or stay small. Maybe we unconsciously signed up to be the emotional caretaker in our family or our workplace. And these contracts, these silent agreements, we carry them into our daily lives without ever asking, did I actually consent to this? Did I actually choose this? And so I realized I was living inside an agreement that I never consciously made. The agreement that said, it's okay for my husband to live in survival mode, and it's okay for me to orbit around that. But here's the thing. What we're truly available for is not what we say with our lips. It's what we allow with our lives. Because here's the thing. What we're truly available for is not the goals that we write in our journal. It's what we allow in our lives. It's what we actually orient ourselves to. Because so let actually let's tease apart two words here: availability and devotion. Availability is what we're willing to host in our field. It's our energetic posture. And devotion is what we're actively orienting towards, not in your words, but literally in your actions. When they're aligned, well, great, life meets you there. Alignment can look like saying that you're devoted to truth and choosing the brave conversation, saying you're devoted to spaciousness and letting go of what feels tight, saying you're devoted to creative joy and restructuring your week around what lights you up. But sometimes, and I would dare to say oftentimes, those two don't actually match. I might say I'm devoted to thriving, but if I keep tolerating dynamics of struggle, then what I'm actually available for is survival. You might say you're devoted to abundance, but if you keep holding on to toxic clients out of fear that nothing better will replace them, then what you're actually available for is scarcity. You might say you're devoted to intimacy, but if you stay in surface-level relationships because you're afraid to be fully seen, then what you're actually available for is loneliness and disguise. You might say that you're devoted to peace, but you tolerate chaos because calm feels unfamiliar. And it's confronting when you realize that these two don't line up. But you know what? It's also super liberating because it means you have choice and you do. You get to choose what you're available for, you get to update the contracts, and you get to write a new story. And this is where human design can sometimes bring nuance. Generators, we can get so used to pushing through that we forget that we're designed to be lit up. If we keep working when the spark is gone, then what we're available for is exhaustion, and that is not it. Manifesting generators like Jesper are designed to pivot, to experiment, to taste. But if you stay frozen in one lane because it feels safer, then what you're available for is frustration instead of flow, and that is not it. Projectors often overgive saying yes to what drains them. Maybe you're devoted to recognition, but what you're actually available for is depletion, and that is not it for you. Manifestors may crave impact, but if you retreat into isolation, then you're available for loneliness, and that is not it. Reflectors, you long for clarity, but if you don't create spacious environments, then you're available for distortion. And here it's not about blame, friends. It's about seeing clearly what's been true, so we can consciously rewrite the terms of our energetic contracts and be available for more, more juice, not more depletion. So let me bring this back to my own life for a minute. Jesper goes through these cycles. Sometimes he's full Viking, charging forward, vision alive, fire lit, and other times it feels like he's sh thrashing around on a captainless ship. And in those moments, I used to jump in and be his ignition. I'd use my spark to get him back on course. Practically, what that looked like is that I would tolerate the struggle. I would tolerate being aware of his survival mode. I would tolerate being aware of his comfort in struggle versus thriving because I knew that that's what feels familiar to him until I literally just couldn't take it anymore, until my emotional wave builded up to such a pressure that it would burst out. And so I would name it and I would put down a boundary and it would work for a while. It would be the ignition, it would be the spark that catalyzed change for a while. But eventually we'd find ourselves right back in the same waters until recently when I felt my whole body say, I'm not your ignition. You have your own spark. And I believe in that more than I believe in this pattern. And it was terrifying to say that to myself, let alone out loud. But it was also super clarifying because what I realized is if I keep being his ignition, then what I'm actually available for is this cycle of him losing his spark and me reigniting it. And that's not what I'm devoted to. I'm devoted to partnership where both of us are lit from within. I'm devoted to a home where thriving is the baseline. I'm devoted to joy, to spaciousness, to vitality, to creativity. And that meant I had to change my availability because that's not devotion. That's codependence disguised as compassion. Real devotion doesn't require depletion. Real devotion sounds like I see your spark and I'll trust you'll remember it when you're ready. And that's the shift, that's the unhooking. So now I'm asking myself daily, what am I available for in this moment? What am I devoted to in this season of life? And I want to offer this to you as well. Right here, right now, I invite you to take a deep breath with me. In through the nose. So therefore, what am I actually no longer available for? And what am I truly devoted to? Be brutally honest. Maybe you're available for overwork, even though you say you're devoted to balance. Maybe you're available for scarcity, even though you say you're devoted to abundance. Maybe you're available for surviving, even though you say you're devoted to thriving. Write down three things you're no longer available for. And then write down three things you're calling in. Three things that you're truly devoted to. And let your body feel the difference. And if you're noticing how deeply some of these patterns are held in your body, that's exactly why I created a practice for this. It's called rewriting your availability. And it's not about thinking your way into new choices. It's about actually releasing the old contracts and anchoring into what you're devoted to. So if this feels alive for you right now, that's where I'd guide you next. I'll include the link in the show notes. Because here's the gift. You can rewrite your energetic contracts at any moment. You don't have to keep consenting to survival just because it's what you've always known. You don't have to keep hosting scarcity just because it feels safer than the unknown. And you certainly don't have to keep tolerating misalignment just because you've normalized it. You get to say, I am no longer available for this. And you get to say, this is what I'm devoted to. And I know from experience that the moment you say it, not just with words, but with your body, with your choices, life will rearrange around that clarity. So let me circle back to that original question. What are you truly available for? Not the theory, not the story, not the surface, but the truth. Because here's what I know. You are designed for more, more alignment, more freedom, more joy, more satisfaction. And when you choose to align your availability with your devotion, you stop surviving and you start living. You are allowed to rewrite the terms of your availability, my friends. Not out of force, not out of guilt, but out of devotion to the life that you chose to come here to live. So I invite you to take a breath and let yourself choose. Until next time. Thanks for listening to Designed for More. If you felt sparked or seen in today's episode, I'd love for you to leave a review, share it with a friend, or come find me on Instagram at JulieByDesign.
