SPEAKER_00Thank you. I need to take you on the road with me. That was good right there. I like that. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01Oh, thank you. Welcome to She Shines. Carnella, we are so happy to have you with us. I don't even want to waste any time. I want you to tell our audience who you are.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's a mouthful. And I've often asked God that question, like, God, you made me so diverse. Um, not only did you um put me in the corporate space, but then you put me in the entrepreneur space, and then you said, okay, and it's time to be um in ministry, and then you say it's time to start a church, and then it's time to do mission work. And I said, Whoa, God. And then this other nonprofit was community work with Thrive Resource Center. And I said, Whoa, okay, God. And he said, I'm not done yet. I said, Okay. Um, so I give God my yes. I thank God for all he's done in my life and how he has blessed me and continue to make a way that I may touch lives and tell people of the good news of Jesus Christ. So thank you, Karen. We met, oh, when I was a teacher, that's right. I was a teacher. That's right. At Living Arts College, that's how we met, and we've stayed um connected, and I am so grateful to be on your show and for all God is doing in your life. So thank you, thank you, thank you. Oh, thank you.
SPEAKER_01And yes, I was going to say, because I always like to let our audience know, if I know our guests, how we met. And yes, Carnella and I met at a college in North Carolina. You guys know I was there in North Carolina for about 12 years. And, you know, she was an interior designer, and I was drawn to that, even though it was not a gifting for me. But um one of the things that I know I want our audience to know, and so before we get into this conversation, Carnella, let them know what you were honored to do at the White House.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_00So in 2020, in 2015, actually, it started in 2014. I was watching uh the White House Christmas, and I was like, oh, I can do that. God, I want to go to the White House to decorate. And in 2014, I applied, I didn't get in. And I was like, God, like seriously, I know what I heard you say. And then in 2015, um sat down with some other women entrepreneurs and uh Miss Andrea Harris, and they helped me um with um recrafting some things, and Miss Andrea said get the website done. And I was like, I just paid to get the website done, get it done redone. And I was like, but anyway, God blessed me, and I got accepted to go to the White House, and on Thanksgiving Day of 2015, everybody's having Thanksgiving dinner, and I'm on the train, headed to the White House to decorate for Christmas with um other attendees. It was very few interior designers, a lot of florists, and then volunteers. And so um then I was chosen while I was on that trip um to decorate certain rooms and called out. Uh, one was the over office, and then um several, another room, and I had a good time.
SPEAKER_01Yes! I also knew that I was on assignment, so yes, yes, oh my goodness, how rewarding and honorable for you to do that. So this conversation, Carnella, that we're going to have, uh, we have different segments. And the first one, of course, because you're a person of purpose, is the journey of purpose. So, how did your journey begin? And how did you merge business and faith and leadership?
SPEAKER_00Actually, I was thinking about that the other day, and I struggled with bringing my faith into my business. Um, it was a major struggle for me. I when I was in the corporate world, I knew, I always knew something was different. And I knew that I had a gift, and I always leaned on my um faith. I always went back to my faith when things would happen and different things. And so one day I am in Las Vegas at a conference that I almost missed. So I knew I should have known then. Every time I'm about to miss something big, that means God's getting ready to do something big. And so I almost missed that. And while I was at the conference, I kept saying, Why am I feeling the way I'm feeling? And I said, God, this conference, I've been to many conference, but something about this one is not sitting well with my spirit. Um, because when they asked you to tell a story, or it was built around how to tell your story or how to speak and everything, people were getting up and they were telling their story and being open and being very vulnerable, but nobody was there to close them up. And I had a struggle, I had a problem with that because I knew what that meant. Um, uh being in um in my faith and strong in ministry, still learning a lot. But I knew that if you open somebody up and you don't pray to close them back up, they shall be attacked even more. And so I said, God, I'm like, You sent me to this conference. What is it about? So as I began to really intercede in my room and different things was happening the next day. God does move quickly.
SPEAKER_02I will tell you that.
SPEAKER_00He does move quickly. I am sitting in the room, and someone, uh, part of the leadership team came over and said, You're struggling with how to use your faith in a business setting. Whoa. And I said, Oh, she must have been talking to God too last night. She said, And God said, just use it and he'll show you how. And the when I say literally, a door of opportunity open. So the host uh speaker said, I'm gonna give you all about five minutes. I want you to go around to someone in the room and speak uh words of encouragement to them. Well, why you open that door for God to walk in like that? Because he surely took over at that particular time. So the first person I went to, it was just like, okay, people can see the gift on you. I'll put it that way. People can see the gift on you. And I went to her and she wasn't so receptive, and God said that's because of something she's dealing with herself, and she didn't want to be so open. Then he sent me to another person, and when I went to that person and I spoke words of encouragement to her, she said, Who are you? And I said, Carnella. And she said, No, no, no, no, no, no. You're an angel. I said, Well, that I'm not, I can tell you that. She said, God sent you over to me because she had gone through a horrific um divorce. And God was doing this thing in her, and she said, The words that you spoke are words that God has been saying to me, but it's something I needed so badly, and that you spoke life into me, and I needed that right then. And at that point in time, and on my ride back, I said, Okay, God, you have shown me how to be in a room to use my faith for your glory. I don't have to say Jesus all the time, and I tell people that even when I preach, you don't have to say Jesus' name all the time. Let them see by your life, let them hear what God gives you to speak to them and watch God work. And that's how I started incorporating faith in my business. And I tell people that all the time, the workshops and stuff where I share, you can do it. Um, don't leave God out of your business. Don't leave God out of your business.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely not. Absolutely not. And and I can relate to that because Carnella, over 30 years ago, it was spoken over my life. Um, I was on staff at a church, and uh the pastor said that I wasn't to be in the four walls of a church, um, and meaning on staff, that uh I was to be in the marketplace, just like you. So faith meets the marketplace. So, how do you stay grounded in faith while leading in a demanding business environment?
SPEAKER_00It requires a lot of sitting with God, sitting at his feet. Um Lord, you I decrease, you increase. Yes, um, it requires study, study to show thyself approved. A workman needed not to be ashamed, rightly divided in the word of truth. It requires you to say, God, I don't care what happens, I'm gonna put you first. Give me the strength to go through whatever comes my way. Um is it hard? It is very hard. But he's never left us, he's never forsaken us, even in our mess, God is with us. And so it requires a desperation for God. It requires you to want him more than you want the lights. And and the other day I was saying um somebody made a comment about something, and I said, God, if you give me the stage, then I want to use the stage for your glory. So wherever you put me, people say, Why you post all the time and why you do this? Because I want to use that stage for God's right.
SPEAKER_01That's right.
SPEAKER_00And so wherever He sends me, I was getting an award back in 2023. I didn't hesitate. Even though it was a business conference, I didn't hesitate because I give God glory. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have got that award. Man can give it to you, man can take it away. God gives it to you and he blesses you to another level. Yes, he can take it away, but he usually blesses you to another level, and so that's what it's about.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, definitely, definitely. You know, I want to ask you, what does it mean to you to be faith-driven in spaces that may not welcome your conversation? Um, that too.
SPEAKER_00I think I have to lean in to God, like God, you put me in uncharted territory, and then you put me in places where, you know, I I can't even um mention faith, not like they do in other countries. We we have more freedom here. But if you look at the world today, even the world, you know, the United States, you know, things are happening because people are talking about their faith. Right. And so I said, God, I know you have called me to do this. I cannot back down from it. So that means you're gonna cover me, you're gonna protect me, you're gonna, you're gonna put your shield around me, but I don't want you to say, Well done, thou good and faithful servant, but you was afraid to share my name. You was afraid to you and then and like I said, you don't even have to say his name, but you were afraid to tell people uh about how I have blessed you, how I've made a way for you, and so that's where I am. God, even in those places, show me how to speak, yes, and tell others of your goodness and mercy. That's right. And like you said, I don't have to say your, like he said to me, you don't have to say my name, but they will know when you walk in the room, it's something different about you. And I go in a lot of rooms and I've had people to pull me to the side and say, Hey, can you pray for me? Because you look like you could get a praise for prayer.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness. Oh, Carnella, do you know how much we have that in common? Because when I was traveling um with a seminar company for five years across the country, and I would have people repeatedly, I never said a scripture, I never mentioned God's name, but they came up and said, You are spirit-filled. Yes, and I said, uh, yes, I am, and that that's what I do now, Carnella, is I coach to transform people from being out of their avatar, which the world created, to living out of their essence, their spirit. And it's a big difference. So when you said that, absolutely, and you don't have to, God will draw the people because he does that, but we just do as he has instructed us. So I love that you shared that. Well, let's talking about, let's talk about um walking ahead. Let our viewers know what walking ahead is about. Um, my book, Walking Afraid.
SPEAKER_00It is uh I said ahead. I'm sorry, that's afraid. I knew what you meant. This is the book, and God had me to finish the journal, and it says now it's time to walk it out. And so it was about literally, people said, Why walking afraid? Um, I remember having a t-shirt on, and I was in Walmart, and this lady was like, Why are you afraid? God didn't give us the spirit of fear. Okay, but God gave me the name of this book, okay? Okay, and God said, Because every day we are walking afraid. What do I mean by that? Yes, every day you take a faith walk and you trust that God is gonna take you through it. And when another person asked me, and they saw uh uh a big name pastor come out with her book on just do it afraid, she said, Oh, I got it. You're just taking a leap of faith every single day, trusting that God has you. We played, my nephew said the other day, he said, Let's do the the that thing where you lean back and somebody catch you. I can't think of the name of what they call it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. That's a team building exercise.
SPEAKER_00Exercise, right? And so um he had a funny little name for it, and he said, Grandma, she let me fall. And I started laughing because I was playing with him. He didn't hear himself. We were just playing. Oh, is we are playing every day that God will catch us before we fall, and so it's it's walking afraid. You're walking afraid, trusting that God is gonna do what God said he's gonna do. Yes, and you're taking a leap of faith every day, trusting that God is going to be God, and that you will get out of the way, and so you are literally walking afraid, whether you like it or not. You are literally taking that walk and trusting God to keep you, to bless you, to make a way for you to protect you. Yes, yeah, yes, there is some fear, but yes, oh yeah, my fear is in God is in trusting God to do it, not Carnella, because I can't do it on my own. I'm trusting that God is gonna take care of me, and that's where it is.
SPEAKER_01Wow. Well, you know, don't worry, hold on, y'all, because we're gonna tell you how you can get the book, okay? And toward the end, uh, Carnella is gonna tell you how to get in touch with her and how you can be a part of what she's doing. So you just hold on. You know, you know, when a woman comes on, she shines. Yes, it is so she not only can rise, reclaim, and radiate, it is also for others to be able to say, I want, I want to be, I want to work with her, I want her products. So you hold on. We're gonna do that toward the end. So let's see, let's talk about fear. Because you're a powerhouse, yet I want to know, and I want you to share with our audience, Carnella, how did fear show up in your own journey?
SPEAKER_00Sure, sure. Um I am a seer, and uh, for those that are watching, God shows me stuff that's just part of my gift, and there are times when God shows me stuff, and I'm just like, whoo wee guy, uh, what am I supposed to do with this one? What do you want me to do with this one? And he doesn't always, and as a child, it was so hard on me. Because that's when I recognize the gift became real prevalent during my childhood, my teenage years.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00And I won't, I would wake up in the middle of the night saying, Hey, somebody's dying, uh, somebody's passing. And I would say to my mom, can we call home? We was in New York one time, and she was like, Girl, it's in the middle of the night. We are not calling home. We're not gonna wake up everybody because you had a dream. And so the next morning we called my grandmother. My grandmother was like, Yeah, she's right, somebody did pass away. And I knew then, and I remember saying, God, take this away because I don't like how it feels, because I was fearful. I don't like how this feels when I can tell somebody's dying, and sometimes I can see stuff happening before it happens. And I remember, so I was a teenager then, and I remember I was in my 20s, and I talked to my pastor about it. I forgot about it, you know, because I had kind of put it down, yeah, suppressed it, huh? I suppressed it very well, thank you. And I talked to my pastor, and he said, You never ask God to take away a gift that he's given you just because you don't like it. And that was my first sermon I ever preached about a gift. God bring this thing together, but you never ask God to take away a gift that he gives you, ask him to give you the strength to go through it. So that fear taught me a whole lot about myself that God, no matter what, I'm going to trust you in the process, through the process. I will trust you. And so it was then as I was writing a book, God began to show me some things that I was fearful of, and one of them was was dreams. And there are times where I'm like, I don't want to go to sleep, but God said, remember, Carnola, I got you. I got you. And if I showed it to you, now ask me what you what do I want you to do with what I showed you. And so I tell that up to a lot of people because many people have suppressed their dreams and asked God to take them away. And please don't do that. Go back to God and ask God to give it back to you and show you how to walk it out and not be fearful. Yes, you might have fear when you wake up in the morning in the next day and you see some stuff that then manifests in the natural life. I've I've seen it, and but ask God to show you how to walk through that fear, walk through that anxiousness to walk through it. And so, yes, that is my real life story about dealing with fear and being afraid, but I'm afraid in a sense of I know that God has me and I can take that thing back to Him because we are human. And so ask God to give away, ask God to show you how to use it for His good, good, good, good.
SPEAKER_01I like I like that now. You you also have um a devotional group. Um, and can you share one transformation story?
SPEAKER_00And actually, yeah, I stopped the track the group when I started preaching, but God has been nudging me, so it's getting ready to come back. But one of the stories was through the book, again, it goes back to the book this 2020. God says start the devotional group. I was like, God ain't nobody coming out, it's over. He said, and you got Zoom too. Okay, so don't let that be an excuse. And so he gave me names of people to call. It was about 25 women, and we got on the call every Sunday night, um, and and and had this devotional, and we went through the pages of the book, okay, okay, and people had fear too, you know. COVID, people had fear of dying, fear of this and COVID, yeah, fear of this and fear of that, and God had me to use the book to teach from it. So I began to teach. He would give me like the stories in the book, but he would also have me to take those stories and stories and apply it with real life application. And one person, it was one, I mean it was many, but this one story that I tell everywhere. She said, I had been fearful of success for years. She was a business owner, uh I mean, phenomenal. She teaches people how to speak and this, that, and the other before it became real popular. Uh-huh. And she said, but I was always fearful of getting too big or my success and this, that, and the other. And she said, I got it now. I got it. She said, out of all these years of being that way, she said she didn't even continue in the group. She would come back from time to time. But she said, I finally got what I needed, and I can go and do anything now. And so, I mean, it was stories after stories, dealing with relationships and stuff. And people, because the book also has an action plan in the back. So they did their homework, and we just we had a wonderful time, and that devotional group continued on for about two years. It wasn't even supposed to stay that long. But we would sometimes come on and pray. We would have guest speakers to come on, and it was, I'm gonna tell you, God, but he told me this book will be used in churches to teach, to teach. Um I've had men to grab the book and say one man grabbed the book and said, uh, get told his family they had to order their own copy because he was not gonna share it. It was his devotional for every morning um for a long time. And so God said this book will bless many. And so I didn't mean to talk about so much.
SPEAKER_01No, no, that this is a conversation, Carnella. That's what I love, and that's what people want to hear. Um, I I I teach when I coach, I say facts tell right, stories sell. That's true. Because they can write, they can relate, they can relate to the story. So thank you. Yes, share. I'm glad you shared that. Now, let's talk about empowering others to thrive, because that's oof, that's right up my alley, too. So, what inspired you to launch Thrive Resource Center?
SPEAKER_00It always goes back to God. I know. So in um let's see, step back quickly and then fast forward. So in 2021, no, yeah, 2021. Okay. Um, after uh we finished, well, I won't say finished the devotional group. God was preparing me then, and I didn't understand that. Um, I didn't grasp it at the time. So in 2020, when he said start the devotional group, he also put me at rest. Uh oh, he told me to rest. He said, if you don't rest, I'll put you in rest. And I said, God, me and rest, uh, we're not the best of friends. So what do you mean by that? And so he said, rest because I have great work for you to do. He showed me clients and then he took them away. Tell me, God, God don't have a sense of humor.
SPEAKER_01I say it all the time.
SPEAKER_00All the time. So in 2020, um, in it was in December, he said, I said rest. And so I rested, and then in February 2021, he said start the church. Fast forward, starting the church, um, officially started, um, we opened the doors on October 2022. And so we just celebrated three years. Then he says, Oh, yes, and start a resource center. Start a what? He said, a resource center. And I began to cry out to God because they had closed the unemployment office in Wilkeson, North Carolina, my hometown. And I said, God, what about the least of the little ones? What about the marginalized? What about the black and brown people? Everybody can't drive, you know, uh 30 minutes to the closest unemployment office. And typically, we need that, be able to that to go to the unemployment office. He said, start something that would make a difference. And I said, Okay, God. And so he had me to start Thrive Resource Center, which is To educate, empower, and equip the marginalized community. And so we have all these jobs that's coming into Wilson, North Carolina. And so uh with Johnson and Johnson and different things. And I said, Well, who's gonna help the people, God? And he said, You're gonna be part of the group that helps. Yeah, it's some people that's already doing some stuff, but I I called you to help. And so I said, Okay, God, what does this look like? So God has been building it. We work closely with teenagers, uh, 15 to 24-year-old, but then we also have that other group, the 25 to 35. And then my heart is for the marginalized, so it expands out. And so we have done uh workshops, um, AI workshops. We got a money matters workshop. We want to teach our children how how to not just when you come into large sums of money, what will you do with it? So we want to teach them how to be better stewards of the finances. We want to teach them, you want you doing AI, but are you doing AI right? Some got criminal records, you know, they want to get their CDLs. Um, everybody's not gonna work in a in a corporate environment and all these bio gen jobs. We want to prepare them for that. But then those that want to get their CDLs, okay. You want to get your CDL, but you got a speed and ticket that has just been looming uh around for a while. Then we set up, we work with other organizations and do expungement clinics, and we did a big one when we first started with over. We almost got kicked out of the library and thank God they love us. Um but God has just when I say he has been moving and equipping us in so many ways that we can be a blessing in the community. I tell people it is not about me. I'm just a vessel he called to do it. It's all about God, and it's God's business, and I want to be about my father's business. And so that's how Thrive Resource Center came about. We teach people how to do more than survive, we teach them how to thrive.
SPEAKER_01I love it. I yeah. Um, I know who uh Destiny's Child had that song, I'm a Survivor.
SPEAKER_02I'm a survivor, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't want to be just more than a survivor, right? I want to be a thriver, but just like um I I say, you know, it's great to be a dreamer, but it's better to be a dream builder.
SPEAKER_00There you come. Love that.
SPEAKER_01I I I've been told that all my little isms I need to make a book about it. So these are just things that that come to me. So, Carnella, tell us how faith communities can better prepare people for success and personal wholeness.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00Right now, God has me um doing this workshop on crisis. Because we all have been through a crisis or one or two or three or four, where something has happened that is knocked us off our feet for a little while. Because it's only temporary, it's not long term. And so what we have to do is teach people again, it goes back to teaching people how to thrive and not just survive. So communities have to be about what does the people need to survive, not just, I mean, what does the people need to thrive and not just survive? Right. Right. Because we know how to teach people how to survive.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00But can we teach them how to thrive? So one of the big things for me is the entrepreneurship. You know, when corporate started laying off, and I think about all these furloughs and I'm steady playing and saying, okay, God, when corporate had those mass layoffs back in the day, you know, in the IT arena, I had the choice of either taking the layoff or going to moving to Texas. And I said, God, what you want me to do? Now I had already accepted the job to go to Texas uh to do work uh with the company I was working with at the time. And then because they had they didn't move fast enough with my paperwork, I was still in another department. You know how you're still serving two departments in one department, and you got to move to another apartment, they can't get the paperwork done quick enough. And so I remember the boss, the VP, saying to me, and I was dealing with a whole lot of health issues at the time uh with fibroids and everything. And I remember her saying, call the other group that you're going to, AT um government. And I said, she said, and she said, call them. And um, we gotta hurry up, get you off the paperwork, but that means somebody else was gonna be laid off. I know how it works. Oh, and so I said, God, what do you want me to do? I had one more class to be getting my project management certificate, uh, certification. Uh, I didn't want to take the test, but I was like, okay, I had already started my interior design business. See, God is strategic, and that's where we we go wrong. He's strategic. He had already had me to start the design business while I was in corporate America. So I started the design business in 2000, but uh this uh layoff didn't happen until about 2008. So think about that time span. That's eight years. God gave me time to prepare and took the project management courses that I used for my interior design business and was and was starting to do interior design part-time uh on the weekends with some of my co-workers. So God had already laid that thing out, yes, and he already had a plan. And so that's where we are in community. How do we teach people how to not just think about the nine to five, come on, prepare them for whatever will happen next? That is the crisis thing. And when we teach people, you know, the the the Bible talks about the fish, you know. If we if I teach you how to fish, you just get more fish. But if I teach you, did I just mess that up? Because I'm good for messing up something.
SPEAKER_01I know where you're going.
SPEAKER_00Okay, thank you. I know sometimes I talks, I talk so much that I just but know my heart is good. No my heart is good.
SPEAKER_01Charge it to her head, not her heart.
SPEAKER_00Right, right, amen. But God wants us to learn how to be better at what he has called us to do, to use everything that is in our hands, yes, you know, he taught us to be fisher of men. Thank you, God. Holy Spirit, okay, he has taught us how to, he's teaching us how to use everything that is in our hands. Yes, so if God is calling you to you already working this nine to five, but God said write a book, God said start a business, God said do this, do that, and you still sitting on that same thing. That's your problem. Yes, your problem, you know. But why can't we push our people? My um at Be Restore Church, the team don't like me because they say you push too hard. I said, God told me stop letting up on y'all. That's what it is. I be trying to be soft and letting up, and God said, Did I tell you to let up? Because some of them need to be pushed and kicked into the next place, and so that's a story in itself.
SPEAKER_01Carnella, see, we are just so kindred with each other. I I can relate to what you're saying because I tell people if you want the supernatural, meaning you want God to interfere into not interfere, but intercede for your on your behalf, you have to do what's natural for you to do, meaning use the gifts and the talents and the strengths that he gave you. That is what's natural. Then when you start that, he's going to add super to your natural, and you'll get the supernatural. But there is no such word as super nothing. So if you're going to work Monday through Friday from 9 to 5, and you give in 100% to someone else's dream, and then you come home and get on the couch and watch the television. Tell a vision, that's what it does, is giving you a vision instead of you tapping into what God has called you for. Come on, people, listen to what Carnella is saying. This is the time we are in the last quarter of 2025. And so 2026 is coming. What are you going to fix in 2026?
SPEAKER_00That just you need to start in 2025. That's it. It's not too late. To in 2025, that's right. One of my friends, she said, one day she was praying and asking God, hey, uh, one of uh my previous pastors' uh uh leaders, she said, I was praying and asking God for I need some more income and you know, I need to do something. He said, Give me something to work with because I didn't give you plenty, I've given you plenty, but you have not given me anything to work with. So I told you to write a book. You start and you stop and you start and you stop. Finish the book because that's gonna be your extra income. So I'm talking to somebody.
SPEAKER_01Give them something sooner, that's right, that's right. Well, this is the time before we get into Carnela's purpose fire round, y'all know every guest comes on, has a fire round. I have a little wisdom and reflection for Carnella. First Samuel 3:9, speak, Lord, for your servant hears. How has this guided your journey? That's one of my favorite scriptures.
SPEAKER_00So I do that. I ask God, hey God, okay, tell me what you want me to do because sometimes I be missing a boat, God, okay, and I want to miss the boat again. So that has been one of my scriptures I stand on. It's one of the scriptures that was told to me when I said, I keep hearing the knocking at the door, and there's nobody at the door, and it's in the middle of the hour. My pastor said, Say, speak, Lord, your servant is listening. Okay, I said it, but no, but the door now it seemed like they uh Jesus. I need to call it like I said, Jesus is knocking on the inside door. He was at the back door. Now he's on the outside knocking on my door. He said, That means it's time for you to go in ministry. So I I came to tell somebody, say, speak, Lord, your servant is listening, and then wait for the answer. Don't give God all your all your answer. Wait for God's answer. That's right. That's right.
SPEAKER_01Amen. So for someone, because yes, this is inspirational. You we are speaking to someone today, and I don't mean just one person, someone could be very a whole lot globally, for someone feeling called, but they are uncertain, Carnella. What three actions can they take today to start walking in faith? One, speak, Lord, your servant is listening.
SPEAKER_00Write that down. Right. First Samuel 3 and 9 and 10. Yes. Speak, Lord, your servant is listening. Yes, God. I don't want to move without you. I will not move without you. I need you, God, to make it clear. And don't be surprised who he uses to confirm his word. Because God will confirm his word. And someone said to me, uh, he always um makes it clear. Yes, God makes his word clear, but are we listening? And somebody says, God doesn't speak all the time. No, we're not listening all the time. There is a difference. I said, because the birds in the air is God speaking. When you walk outside and you didn't stomp your toe and fall out, God was saying, My hedge of protection is all around you. So it may not come the way you want it, but he's always on time. So the third thing would be is let him, let him show you and confirm what he said. And can I just add a fourth one? Go ahead. Sometimes you gotta walk it out and he'll tell you once you once you stepped into it and own what God has, what you think he said to you, once you step into it. God just wants you to move his move your feet. Once you move, he will confirm it. Sometimes we sitting there waiting for God to say yes, and God done said yes, but you still waiting. He said, Move your feet, and I will give you the next set of instructions because you can't take all the instructions at one time.
SPEAKER_01Come on, come on. Whew not passion, purpose, that is Carnella Renee here. She is the powerhouse. I knew what I was doing when I put that as her title, the powerhouse. And let me just tell you, I remember clearly when it was spoken to me. God doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called. What have you been called to, to do, to be? He will qualify you.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_01He will qualify you.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_01So I am so no, but we're gonna do this purpose fire round right now as we're about to bring this episode to a close. Oh my goodness, I have enjoyed this immensely. She Carnela has blessed me, okay? So these are quick sparks of wisdom and faith and power with Carnela Renee Hill. One word, Carnella, that describes how you're showing up in this season of your life.
SPEAKER_00Affirmed. Oh, yes.
SPEAKER_01All right. Okay. What is a scripture or affirmation you say to remind yourself who you are?
SPEAKER_00Chosen. I'm chosen. The scripture around chosen. There's plenty of them. So the scripture around being chosen.
SPEAKER_01Awesome.
SPEAKER_00He chose me. I didn't choose myself.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Yes. What is a book or teaching that has deeply shaped your faith or leadership?
SPEAKER_00Ooh, one of my favorite books, besides my own, of course. It's the uh book about King Solomon and wisdom. That is one of my favorite books. It talks about King Solomon asking for one thing. I think it's called The Wealthiest Man on Earth, King Solomon Story. I always get the title wrong, but it's very close to that. And how King Solomon only asked um for one thing. And God gave him many things because he didn't ask for the heads of his enemy. He didn't ask for his enemies to be taken out. He didn't ask for this, he didn't ask for that. He asked God to give him basically wisdom, and God granted him more than what he asked for.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness. All right. What's a go-to song when you need to reignite your fire?
SPEAKER_00Woo! So I have multiple songs because God will dropped a song in my spirit. So right now, in his presence is the one I've been playing, been singing and praying and waking up to in his presence. In his presence.
SPEAKER_01And you know the artist?
SPEAKER_00Um, yes, because it's on my it's literally downloaded. Sometimes I have to even look at the words. It's by Shamia. Um keep going, and I'm gonna come back with that scripture. Exactly, and that and that it's yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Last one. Complete this sentence. When faith and purpose meet.
SPEAKER_00When faith and purpose meet, yes, I love God. God is just talking over here, he will blow your mind. That's what I heard. Oh when faith and purpose meet, he will blow your mind. And I say that often blow our mind. Yes, blow my mind.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, yes. Yes. Well, did you did you find your artist? Um uh in his presence.
SPEAKER_00Yep, in his presence, it is by because I I I'm good for sending it to a whole lot of people when he drops stuff in my spirit. Um, it's by Shamia. Oh, I think it's Shamia Wilson. Pressed in his presence. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Pressed in his spirit by Shanna Wilson. Shanna Wilson.
SPEAKER_01It's that awesome. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00Shannon Wilson Wilson.
SPEAKER_01Shanna Wilson. Pressed in his presence.
SPEAKER_00Pressed in his spirit.
SPEAKER_01Pressed in his spirit. All right. Press in his spirit. Wow. Wow. Yes. You guys, I I just know you got all kinds of nuggets from Carnella Renee Hill today. And let me put up right now how you can get in touch with her. And there it is on the screen, Crhillenterprise.com. And also, you can, I'm gonna put it up there again, because reach out to her. And then you can always reach out to me, and I can refer you back to uh Renee, uh Carnella, Renee. I call her combination sometime Renee, sometimes Carnella. And then up on the screen now is how you can have a discovery call with me so we can discover what God has given you as gifts. So once again, let me put that up there as we're bringing this segment, this episode to a close. What does she shine mean to you? What do you keep or how do you keep your light shining? And do you allow others to dim your light? I want you to complete this sentence for our listening audience. I am a woman who shines because and fill in the blank. I am a woman who shines because and fill in the blank. Carnella, saying thank you seems so small compared to the impact you have brought to this episode today. You are a powerhouse, and I love to see faith in action because as the word says, faith without works is dead. So for our listeners, if this episode has blessed you, please, please share it with another sister or brother. But we we here we're promoting women for the fact that so many women have assignments and aren't fulfilling them. So that's why she shines is here, is to bring women so you can see what they've gone through, what they are doing, what they have accomplished. And if God did it for them, God will do it for you. So like Carnella said, we still have a few months of 2025. You want to thrive, and then you will fix whatever it is in 2026. Again, let me let Carnella have the last word before we close.
SPEAKER_00I'm glad um God allowed me to get to this point in life. It life has its ups and downs. I thank God for the travel and the journey, uh, because it has been a blessing to be able to go and do missions work in other countries, but also to serve right here in the United States. And so when you ask me about that scripture, John 15 and 16, and I pray that this will help somebody who's on the fence, um, whether God has called you or not, he's he already done made it clear. It's a matter of you walking that thing out. And so John 15 and 16, sometimes I have to read, I get so excited, God said I be forgetting stuff, but he helps me and brings it back to me. He's like, slow down, slow down. But John 15 and 16 says, You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you and ordained you that ye should go and bring forth fruit, that your fruit should remain, that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you. I pray this blesses you. I pray that you remember in all things that he has chosen you, he called you by name, he knows every hair that's on your head, and he is the one that gives the reward in Jesus' name.
SPEAKER_01Amen. Amen. Look, I'm trying to do my heart. Yes, I love you, Carnella. I love you. Thank you. And we so appreciate the work that you're doing. Keep thriving and keep shining. And for my audience, until next time, God bless you.
