In this special bonus episode, Coach KG invites listeners into a moment of radical honesty and rest. After pushing through pre-interviews, coaching sessions, and planning content for 2026, life brought her to a complete stop — technology failed, energy dipped, and alignment slipped. Even one of her upcoming guests sensed it: “You needed to rest.”

Eye of the Storm explores what happens when we pause in the middle of life’s chaos and allow ourselves to return to center. KG shares how the quiet inner “eye” becomes a place of clarity, peace, and spiritual recalibration. This episode is a reminder that rest is not weakness — it is wisdom. And sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is step back, breathe, and realign.

If you’ve been pushing, forcing, or running on empty, this episode will meet you exactly where you are.

Well, hello there. Welcome. This is a bonus episode of She Shines. This is a bonus episode of She Shines. And this is with Coach KG. I am your host. And today I decided that I needed to do a bonus episode. And I'm doing it live. And so if you are catching this right now, comment where you are viewing from. If you're listening after it's been recorded and it will be on other platforms, then please too tell me where you are viewing from. So the bonus episode for today is called Eye of the Storm. Eye of the Storm. And I don't know if you can't tell the way I'm sitting right now, but I happen to be wearing my shirt because it's game day for my grandson, Malachi. And so I am wearing the Skyview Storm t-shirt. And I thought, oh, this would make a great episode because I needed to share something that I know I'm not the only one going through. So I want to welcome all of the beautiful souls who are watching live, those that are watching or listening to the recording. Again, this is a special bonus episode of She Shines. I hadn't planned on recording this, but it's clearly one that needed to be shared. And before I speak to you about the eye of the storm, let me just say this episode came out of an unforeseen pause, a divine interruption, and a moment of soul-level honesty. So let's talk about what is the eye of the storm. You know, when it's hurricane season and the storms are come up, every storm has an eye. The eye of the storm is the calm, quiet center of a powerful hurricane. It's the space inside the storm where the winds die down, the air becomes still, the sky can appear clear, and there is temporarily a sense of peace. Even though the storm itself is still raging all around it. Now, let's go beyond the science. And I'm using the eye of the storm as a metaphor for life, for leadership, and personal growth. Let's look at a more spiritual or emotional meaning about the eye of the storm. In life, the eye of the storm represents those moments when chaos is happening all around you. Responsibilities are pulling at you from the right, from the left, from the top, from the bottom. Your emotions are not. Our emotions are swirling. Life feels loud and heavy, but your inner self calls you, calls us into stillness. It is the place where God intuition or our own inner wisdom says, Come sit with me for a moment. It is that sacred pause, the still where clarity lives. So why does the eye exist? The eye exists because in the real storm, the eye forms because the pressure drops in the center, creating a calm space that stabilizes the entire system. In our lives, the eye forms when exhaustion lowers our resistance. Our bodies signals that something is off. Your spirit needs grounding. Life forces us to pause. Alignment is slipping away, and we just need some recalibration. It is that moment when everything is swirling, but we are being called inward. What does the eye teach us? Teaches us, and then I'm gonna share with you personally, me personally, and what I experienced. The eye of the storm teaches us peace is available even in chaos. It teaches us that stillness is not absence of the storm, it is the anchor of the storm. We cannot ignore the need for rest. Now let me say that again. We cannot ignore the need for rest. I don't care what is going on around you, the holidays, the parties, the family members, the forts, school, everything, everything can become the storm. You cannot ignore, we cannot ignore that we need the rest. Even nature honors a moment of calm in the middle of intensity. Stillness is so strategic. The eye gives us a chance to reassess, redirect, and restore. Alignment is maintained in the quiet spaces. What we do in the eye determines how we move through the storm. We are the strongest when we're centered. Not when we're rushing around, but it's when we are rooted. Now, this is Coach KG's interpretation. For our listeners, the eye of the storm is a reminder. We do not have to wait for life to fall apart and to choose stillness. The moment your spirit whispers rest, we step into our own, our own calm center. Before the storm overtakes us. It's our sanctuary, it's our alignment check. I say we have to be in alignment with our assignment. And if we are not in alignment, then we need the eye. So let me share. This is a moment of total transparency, okay? A few weeks ago, I was in motion. And if I am totally honest, I was in over motion. Yeah, actually, yeah. I wasn't in motion. I was over motion. See, what I was doing was doing what I do and what I love to do. I was pre-interviewing guests for the podcast. I was recording episodes of the podcast. I was coaching because I do coach on the other side of She Shines with Coach KG. I was doing all the things I do. There was a storm brewing.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I ignored it.

SPEAKER_01

I ignored it. I was brainstorming content for 2026. I was mapping out future episodes. I was designing templates. I was preparing outlines. I was preparing notes for my associate producer. I was refining my questions and moving, flowing, doing nonstop. I even told myself, I said, Karen, oh man, you're in the groove today, girl. But let me tell you the truth. I was in a storm, my own internal storm. You know, there is a difference between momentum and misalignment. I didn't even realize how far out of alignment I'd gotten until my body whispered rest. And to be totally honest with you, I had a client who happens to be a dear friend. She just said something seemed off during our session. And in actuality, we were going to record an episode for She Shine. Wow. What happened next was preparation for me to take notice of what was being said. As I tried to record another episode, I was ready, my script was open, microphone on, headset on, the platform would not work. Let me tell you. When the platform refuses, when technology acts up for no reason whatsoever, when things are normally smooth, but suddenly everything feels frustrated. That's not a glitch. No, it's not a glitch. It's a sign. I sat there staring at my screen like, what's going on? What's happening? I'm trying to click here and click there. And then I heard from one of my upcoming guests, Kendra. She said something to me that hit my spirit like an anchor. She said, I I sensed you need it to rest. Let me tell you, sometimes people can read the part of you you tried to rush past. Eye of the storm. There's a place in every storm called the eye. Yeah, I'm repeating it because you need to hear this. The eye of the storm is where it is calm, it's still, it's quiet, and even when chaos circles all around it. And that's where I found myself. No, I wasn't broken. I wasn't overwhelmed. I wasn't defeated. I just needed to be still. See, rest isn't weakness. Rest is wisdom. Resting is how we reclaim our center before we lose our way. Resting is how we return to alignment before we burn out. And resting is how we breathe God back into our plans. In the eye of the storm, God sat me down. I was reminded: you can't pour when you're empty. You can't lead when you're disconnected from your own source. And you can't shine when you're ignoring the flicker in your own spirit. Let me tell you what I learned and what I want you to hear. So I did pause. I rested. As a matter of fact, right behind me on that chaise is where I went. I didn't even get to my bedroom. I went right there. I rested. As a matter of fact, I rested for two hours. I actually slept for two hours. I stepped back. I let silence do its healing work. Now, here's what I want you to take away from this bonus episode of She Shines with Coach KG. Please, please pay attention to the small signs. Fatigue, irritation, delay. The nudge you ignore becomes the wall you hit later. Productivity is not proof of worthiness. Your value isn't measured by how many tasks you stack in a day. Rest is spiritual discipline. Did you hear me? Rest is spiritual discipline. The revelation I received was that rest is holy, it is necessary, and it is part of the divine design. I mean, look at Genesis. When God in six days created the world, on the seventh day, he rested and called it good. Something else I want you to take away. Misalignment feels like struggle. Nothing seems to work. Alignment feels like you're in the flow. You're in the, you're, you're flowing with it. Your body knows, and better yet, your intuition knows. So listen when your system says, not right now. And the last thing I want you to take away from this bonus episode, Eye of the Storm, honor your own storm. There is healing and stepping into the eye, into the stillness that holds you steady. So for all my sisters out there, and for the brothers that are listening, if you are listening to this right now and you've been pushing, you've been forcing, you've been striving, you've been proving, Paul, not because you are failing, but because you are feeling. And your feelings are data. Your energy is data. Your exhaustion is data. Your body is sending messages. Your mind keeps trying to override. And I I recently heard this in the last, in the last week, I think it was Sunday, from another guest who will be coming on She Shines, another dear friend, who said our brain works for us. We tell our brain what to do, not the other way around. Take a break. Sit down, lay down, stretch your shoulders. I know for me, oh my goodness, right in here, every time, breathe. Now I'm not talking what you do normally. I'm talking about some deep cleansing breaths from your belly. If you need to cry, cry. Take a nap, turn off the world. I did it for a day. Maybe you need to. You know your situation better than I do. You cannot miss what is meant for you. Meaning, if you think like if you if I keep going, I keep going, then you know, I'm I'm bound to get what's meant for me. Uh-uh. It don't work like that. What's meant for you will be for you. But one thing for sure, if you ignore the I and you stay in the chaos, you may not be here to get what was meant for you. I hope you are hearing me loud and clear. You also cannot delay what God already scheduled. But let me tell you what you can do. You can drain yourself trying to do it all all at once. Let this episode remind you that rest is not stopping. Rest is strategic. Just as I'm saying that, I remember my mother says, slow down. Nobody got a gun at your head. I mean, that literally just popped in my head. Thanks, mama. Closing, returning to alignment. As I step back, everything slowed. My thoughts became cleared. My spirit softened. My purpose sharpened. I returned to myself. And when I did, I remembered she shines is not just about rising, it's about resetting, realigning, and recharging. Because when you shine, You shine from inside, not from the rush, but from the rest. I want to take this time to thank you. Thank you for allowing me to share this moment with transparency and truth. And I hope this bonus episode meets you exactly where you are in your own storm, in your own stillness, and in your return to your own self. Now that I've rested, you don't want to miss what's coming up for in She Shines. The podcast, coaching.

SPEAKER_00

I am resting, but after I've rested, my goodness, it just flows like the water. So some things are coming up.

SPEAKER_01

I'll give you a little snippet of what's coming up. I'm planning a workshop on Zoom that you'll be invited to, that you can share so your friends and family can come on. And then I'm working on a course, online course for 2026, where you discover your strengths and you watch the videos to learn how you utilize those strengths. And so much more. So as I close, I just wanted to come on here, not for a long time. So as I close, be gentle with your journey. And I have one of those sayings to say there is joy in the journey. You see, you can't write the word journey without joy. Always remember this nothing changes until you change your mind. And even in the storm, you still shine.

SPEAKER_00

But you know what? Tonight, game night, there's a storm brewing.

SPEAKER_01

And we we mean to bring chaos to the opposing team. So let's go, Storm. And for everyone, have a great weekend. I love you. Bye bye.
