Hi and welcome to the Battle Drill Daily Devotional. I'm Rob Westwood-Payne, and I'm here to help you start your day spiritually strong with a quick, powerful devotional from God's Word. Don't forget to visit battledrilldevotional.com for more daily devotionals and resources. Now let's jump in. Hello and welcome. Let me ask you something as we begin today. Are you feeling stuck in life right now? Maybe you've tried every self-help plan. Every new routine or every determination to do better. But here's a truth that might surprise you. If you want to move forward, if you really want to grow, then you need to grow together. God never designed us to grow on our own. The Bible makes this clear. The Apostle Paul writes in Romans chapter one, verse 12, when we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith. But I also want to be encouraged by yours now. Did you hear the balance in that? Paul doesn't stand above the believers in Rome. He doesn't say to them, I'll pour into you and you'll just listen. Instead, he says, I'll encourage you and you'll encourage me. That's the picture of God's family. We grow together. The truth is that when we try to grow in isolation, we soon lose our fire. Think of a coal taken out of a burning fire on its own. It cools very quickly, but surrounded by other coals, it glows red hot. The same is true in our faith alone. Our courage fades together. Our faith burns brighter. Now, I've seen this in the Salvation Army many, many times. Someone walks into church weighed down by worry. You'll see it, for example. They sit among people who welcome them. You pray with them and walk every step of the way with them. And slowly you can see it. Hope begins to return. That warmth isn't by accident. It's God's design. He made us to grow together. Now, I'll be honest with you. I've often felt the pull to withdraw from people when life feels heavy. Maybe you have to. But I've come to learn that every time I lean in, instead of pulling back, God meets me in surprising ways. A listening ear over coffee. A text message sent at just the right time. A simple prayer whispered in love. None of those things are dramatic, but they carry the power of Christ's presence through his people. And in the end. Isn't that what we long for? To know that we're not alone. To know that someone else believes with us, stands with us, and helps us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus when our eyes are tired. That's what it means to grow together. So as we come to the end of this week, let me ask, who are you growing with right now? Who is encouraging your faith? And just as important, who are you encouraging? Growth is never a solo journey. It's a shared one. Maybe your next step is to join a small group or simply to show up at worship. Even when staying home feels easier, maybe it's picking up the phone to call a Christian friend. However small the step, you'll find God meeting you there. And not only will you grow, but you'll help someone else to grow to. We grow together. Always stay stuck. Which will you choose today? A final thought starter for the week is this. Who are you growing with right now? And how could you take a step to strengthen that connection? This week? Let's pray. Lord, thank you that you did not make me to walk alone. Forgive me for the times that I've pulled back from your family. Help me to grow together with others in faith, love and hope and use me today to encourage someone else. In Jesus name, Amen. As we finish this week's journey, remember that getting unstuck is never about sheer willpower. It's about turning to God. It's about trusting his grace, and it's about walking with his people. Whether it's facing the truth about yourself or asking God for help, or stopping the chase for others approval, or even stepping into a fresh start, the invitation is the same. Don't walk alone. Grow together in Christ and you will find the freedom and hope that you've been longing for. I hope to see you again soon. In the meantime, God bless you.
