Some people do it's basically when it goes, it gets a lot of attention quickly, essentially, and it's had 11,000 views in two days.

But uh, I'm becoming a bit of uh, an animal, I think, because someone this week there's a couple of people have emerged across the the breaks that I usually go in, who I don't know where they come from, but they started going in the Seahawks fuming.

But yeah, I think I know you, I think we mentioned before, but we've got to stay in our lane, haven't we, as collectors, not cave into the FOMO and YOLO and all that sort of thing? But I don't piss you off when you, when you miss out, someone swoops in, takes your spot fairly, mind, let's be clear. It's a bit of banter in case they are listening. Lovely fellas, get them on the pod, explain their actions. Yeah, yeah, but but yeah, like there's one guy I won't name him, name and shame, but he he got the Seahawks in a National Treasures break and he's only gone and pulled a Jackson Smith and Jigba like a really big patch numbered to 25. Speaker 2:Might be getting that, um, yeah, grim, but it's funny because we spoke about it before. I probably should caveat this before I say I am only joking. But you know, when uh, good people pull good cards on the in a break, now I'm like fucking bastards. You've got to be. Pretend you're happy for them are Well done. Yeah, good, paul, yeah, but no, I'm joking, but no, it's good to see. To be fair, jokes aside, it's good to see and I said this to the guy there's other Seahawks fans and it turns out he actually lives in Wellington as well. You're knocking on his door, so that's pretty cool. I started having a chat with him. So that's like another, another mate and like down the line, you can start. When you know someone else, obviously he's uh collecting seahawks, then there might be some nice little trades there down the line. So it's all good. Um, I'm over it, whatever.
Speaker 2:Um it's a good way to go back into the social, yeah, instagram we I still say this every week, but I'm still blows my mind, but we are just double checking now. Yeah, 1508 followers absolutely fly. Um, yeah, like every morning I wake up, like last night, uh, so this morning woke up nine new followers overnight um, and that's really good and the interaction's amazing, like getting some really cool messages, comments, um, stuff like that, and I feel like not just in new zealand, but I feel like the, the people that I'm talking to and stuff like that. It's just it's growing. Yeah, um, and people seem to be interested in you know the cards we're posting and stuff like that and end up having loads of good conversations off the back of it. So it's been, uh, that's been phenomenal, mate, to be honest. But like, yeah, over 1500 followers now and Instagram, what we've been doing that for four months, something like that yeah, not too long.

Speaker 2:No, it might not even be that to be fair. So, yeah, we want to keep growing that, and I think we've still not got, I guess, all this positivity. The only negative thing is I want more people. We've got people lined up over the next few months which we can't always get them in every single week for guests and stuff like that, but I want people reaching out. I want people to come on the pod, because I think we agree, what are we trying to achieve? What's the end game? And I think the pod's the forefront of what we're doing. So we want to chat to people, have people rant, have people tell us about their collections, whatever it is, and use the pod and make that our thing. So I want more people to reach out. I want to get someone, I want more people from our little communities that we've created, but I also want someone so fucking random from the arse end of nowhere to reach out and and come on the pod. Yeah, yeah, um, that's how we learn, isn't it? I feel like that's the next milestone isn't it?

So we've got Kevin Doyle part of the Retro Threads collection, number 299. It's like a green ice parallel, yeah 22.
Speaker 1:What pack did you pull that out of? It was out of a mega multi-pack. So you get four. You get four like single packs and then the limited edition pack of three cards. So yeah, that was really nice to pull that. Actually, I also bought a Liverpool Tops trading card set from 24 I think, and I pulled a Jaden Downs rookie card, 34 out of 50. So, yeah, I actually pulled. So I actually put up a video on TikTok of the Liverpool team set from last season and I pulled another Jadon Dan's number card, 250 and a rainbow flick Jadon Dan's card. So I'm actually building up a little collection of Mr Dan's himself. So hopefully I say hopefully he's not going to get a sniff in Italy at the moment with the amount of striking options Liverpool have. But yeah, he's on the bench at the moment, isn't he? So he's obviously on slots radar, yeah. So yeah, it'd be nice for him to.
Speaker 2:Actually, he's a decent player though, isn't he? He came in. He came in under Klopp and had some really good games he did yeah, he scored quite a few goals, didn't he?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I like him, but it's difficult, isn't it, when you've got, you know, isaka Ekotiko, gakubo Salah. You know like it's going to be difficult for him to get in, but maybe some League Cup games, I reckon.
Speaker 2:Well, sometimes you've got to go away and get your game time, haven't you? And then come back and get your space, and I think he he's one of those. I'm just looking for a card. He's one of those players who would, yeah, probably benefit from that because he's shown some real, some real potential. But what I like about your you getting a few Dan's cards, that's sometimes how you get a bit of a not weird, but like an unusual PC, and it's quite interesting, isn't it, when you start getting a player like that and then you just want to collect their cards, which is quite cool, yeah that might be my little rookie.
Speaker 1:Obviously, all of his cards are rookie cards at the moment, all the ones that I've got, anyway, from last season. So yeah, but there was talk to him going out on loan wasn't there, I think, to Sunderland, but I think they went with somebody else. I don't know what happened there. I just saw that he was going out on loan to Sunderland, so that would have been quite a good move for him actually.

Speaker 2:yeah, I've had some stuff come through from breaks but I'll give you a couple of highlights. So my absolute um, arguably this is now. This is a Jalen Milrow on card auto from origins which from the last few parts, have been ray absolutely raving about. This is by far at the minute my favorite product. Yeah, that's love. I think I showed you this last week. One another card I had in the posters that's a tour tag of Iowa. It's just a base card, super nice base card. But you look at other sets, in a lot of other sets that's a really nice insert Sort of looks like I don't know how anyone can let these.
Speaker 1:Say that again, mate Sort of looks like I don't know if you've seen them like Inception cards the Inception, yeah Pops Inception. It sort of looks a little bit like that. Yeah, they're really cool.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but yeah, for me they're absolutely phenomenal. So that's like your base on-card auto. I think I don't know if I've got it here, have I yet I've got it here. Oh yeah, another jaylen milrow. Just that's the standard base, which again is a phenomenal looking card, beautiful, um, so I'm chuffed with those. Got the tour. I also did. I don't know if we were discussing it with nick last, but we I went into one of the panini ones where you you're supposed to get one card, but sometimes you get two, and I had Dolphins and this was the second card. So it's a Jalen Wright on card auto. He's a running back, so it's a rookie. I'm not sure if you can see on the camera, but see the orange strip, it's not just one. So you've got the stitch in there that you can just see. So it's a nice RPA. It's numbered to 75. Um, yeah, lovely piece, um, so I'm pleased with that. Yeah, I, something I ordered quite a while ago. But a geno smith color burst. God, that is a lovely card from phoenix.
Speaker 2:It's quite nice. I've got another addition to my AJ Barner PC. Lovely, I've already got one of these. This is numbered to 350. Just bear with me a second. I'm gonna just leave the room. One of the kids is crying yeah.
Speaker 1:So actually going back to the beginning of the pod, actually talking about these panini select 24, 25 trading cards that I got shafted on. So I I got 22 out of 24 cards. But they're really nice, they're thick boys. This is Equalizer. We've got some nice pink parallel ones and, yeah, 22. Yep, recounted again, 22 out of 24 cards. Sorry, just going over the fat tiger out of 2 cards, the Panini fiasco, yeah, yeah, what do I? What do I do in this case? Do I? Do I contact Panini? Do I contact the seller? I think you just need to get over it.

Reason being so I bought just a slight segue out, but I collect vinyls as well, music records, and I sold sorry, hannah's just giving me the old coffee, don't want a coffee. Yes, please. Speaker 1:I bought two vinyls recently. Wife of a card addict yeah, that would be a good episode, wouldn't it, if we got both wives in. It would actually. Yeah, it would be interesting listening. Bring us down to earth.
Speaker 1:Anyway, I bought two vinyls recently and, as a collector, as you would in anything that you collect, you want to keep it in obviously pristine condition. And one of them was delivered and it got shoved down the next down the side of our like meter reading box outside our house. So when I got it, the box was damaged. Oh yeah, ergo, the front of the sleeve was damaged as well. Um, and I I emailed the company that sent it out to me. Um, it was a Spotify only 300 press, so there's only 300 of these vinyls made.
Speaker 1:So I emailed them going look, it's damaged. Thanks, what can I do? Do I send it back to you? Send me another one? And they were like we don't have any left to resend you, so they just refunded me the money. So I was like I've got free vinyl out of it. It's not too bad a damage, but it's enough to go. I need to make, I need to contact someone because I shouldn't be paying £30, £35 and it come damaged. No, no, yeah, but that's part of it though, isn't it? Yeah, exactly, they obviously pay for posters to be delivered, not damaged, so unfortunately it wasn't there.
Speaker 1:for me it was the delivery people anyway, and I bought another vinyl and it turned up and it was wrong. It was the wrong colour. So then I emailed I feel like I'm a Karen, like a proper customer service Karen at the moment and I emailed I'll use A card, karen, karen, cd Karen. I said you sent me the wrong, the wrong coloured vinyl and it said that it was mint. So the quality on the quality of vinyl, so they grade it like by mint, near mint, and it turned out it wasn't. It wasn't factory sealed, it was advertised, it was the wrong colour. I emailed this guy and he went oh, we don't have the other one, but don't worry, I'll refund it and you keep it. So I got another refund, kept the vinyl and he went if it's battered you should keep it because there was a couple of dents on the front of the sleeve and a minor to some people.
Speaker 1:Minor to some people, but to someone who collects, that's still shit, though, because you've obviously bought the other one because that's what you want. Yeah, exactly. So from these emails I've got two refunds. So I'll keep you posted on the Panini saga and see what they come back with, because maybe they'll send me another pack. That'd be nice.
Speaker 2:Yeah, find out, chase it up just to see. But I think they'll politely tell you to jog on, to be honest. But yeah, you can try it. Don't buy a ticket you don't win the raffle yeah, um, I just want to actually, before I forget, a little shout out to a guy over here Sent me and this is the card community, isn't it? This guy? I'll tell you his name shortly. He's been saving me some Seahawks cards and he sent them over and I thought it was quite nice of him, mr Matthew Baxter.

But yeah, like, you can get some really nice cards. And, funnily enough, my first ever box I bought when I you know I've talked about um, a title locket card and stuff like that.
Speaker 2:But when that day, when I opened the drawer and I was like, yeah, I'm gonna see if I can get some jsn card this was one of the first boxes I got because it was like quite fairly priced and obviously I had no idea what I was doing I thought I'd just buy a box um, I haven't got them here, but I got a couple of um, funny enough, actually, emc I've got. I'll give it. I'll give it to you, from me to you. But I've got a card that's almost identical to this, but it's purple and it's got Jordan Love on it. Oh, beautiful, yeah, and I kept it because it was from that first box I bought. So I'll give it to you as a celebration of a viral video and 1500 followers. I'll give you that it's from my first box I purchased and I've held on to it purely because it was uh from that box, but now you're um back into the packers cards and now I'll uh, I'll give you that. That's a very kind gesture, uh speaking of packers.
Speaker 1:Um, I went through um some of the cards you sent me um quite a while ago wasn't it probably earlier this year? And I went through all the NFL stuff and, yeah, I've actually got a segment of Jordan Love cards now from what you sent me and now I've got another one. So see where this is going, can't you, after watching the Green Bay game and starting to like how Jordan Love plays I think it might be I'll be searching the crevices of eBay and Vintage for what I can see.
Speaker 2:I'll keep an eye open over here and see there's obviously sales posts that go up quite a lot. There's one this evening actually I need to go through. But yeah, if I see any Jordan love for you I'll keep it. But yeah, that I'll bring it on the next show. In fact one minute.

Speaker 2:Yes, it's quite thin and it's just got a magnetic Hold on. I've got one here. So you see, you've got the magnet at the top. Yeah, yeah, it just pulls apart, nice. And then you put it in. And then when you usually get them from like breakers, like you get a nice card. I put a sticker over it, but I've obviously put the Kuman curry. I hate that gold magnets. I've got a sticker over it and then put it in a, then put it in the team bag for extra protection. Um, yeah, got quite a lot of cards in those. Now, I never used to like them, but I think when you put the sticker over in the bag it looks quite cool. So I've started using them quite a lot. But I need one for this.
Speaker 2:When you told me you'd ordered that select EPL blaster, I happened to go into I don't know if it was that day or the day after. I happened to go into the card shop in Lower Hutt and um, I bought one and I did a video which you've obviously seen. But, yeah, I've got this new doggy patch auto, but I've just noticed on the back. It's well off center. You might not be able to see on the camera, but you look down in here and here it's over to one side. You're right, um, probably give that to JW, um, when I come back. But yeah, like it's pretty cool though from a blaster, I was quite chuffed with that. Yeah, I was.

It's a Field Level Didier Drogba base card. Oh nice, it's just really nice, isn't it? I mean he's as an iconic kit, a Nike ball. I mean Drogba was an iconic player, wasn't he? Yeah, I've actually just bought a base set. Yeah, definitely, I say base set. The Liverpool cards from Vinted actually should be coming this week, and it's quite a field level Steven Gerrard. So that'll be going straight to the PC.

Speaker 1:Oh, and finally bought any other editions. Yeah, I bought another one. I finally bought the England rookie card Gerrard, it's a blue parallel. It's really nice, but I bought it, Not the unlicensed one. No, this is a licensed one, Nice, Good choice. So I've come back from holiday and I should have a couple of decent JRard cards to add to the PC and basically I'm looking to buy. I want to get all of the LFC team sets, the Tops team sets, because they only started I looked it up, they only actually started doing the team sets for Tops or for the Premier League teams anyway in 2021. So there's not that many of them. So there's 21, 22, 22, 23, etc. So at the moment I'm in the market for those. So watch this space.

Speaker 2:Just a quick one on Donruss. So Donruss Football has been out this week so I've watched a lot of breaks online. We've said this time and time again, but obviously when we started or or you know, when I started getting into nfl this year, like I missed a lot of that early cycle. So for some of this stuff now that's coming around on the breaks is is new stuff to me, um, but don russ is out, uh, now, um, there's been so many breaks. As soon as I don't know a product, it's quite exciting to jump on. Uh, to be fair, it's, it's quite good anyway, even if you know it, because you want to see what, what sort of stuff's coming out. So I've been watching quite a lot on youtube. I've been, I've done two breaks of it myself, pulled some nice, um, jaylen milrow stuff, which has been quite good, um. But yeah, obviously the chase is the downtowns. So I haven't checked tonight, but I know that there's been a massive delay on the checklist. So there's been a lot of talk in groups over here like speculation of the downtowns and I think there's a fairly definitive list out now, which is quite good. So this year there is a Seahawk and that is Jalen Milrow. Okay, so that's good. So that'll be my chase for a while.
Speaker 2:But I've had a look on ebay, um, this morning, and there is one for sale currently. So obviously this is only out this week, um, and it's 700 us dollars. Let's have a quick look actually, while we're on. But I had a look it was 700. I think it might have even been US dollars. Could be wrong on that, I'll have a quick look. But, yeah, like expensive, but it is. Let's see if I can get the picture translates. Yeah, no, sorry, it's 435 US dollars, but that is where it is on the bid at the minute 16 bids, nearly three days, or just under three days left, but I don't know if this will come up. But that's the. Can you see that it's not a good picture, but yeah, yeah, nice, um, that's so that's the downtown this year. Yeah, that's nice, but I'm not sure. I'm not sure it's one I'm gonna go all out for, like it'd be nice to get it in a break. But, like you know, you getting a nice, a nice patch or a nice low numbered card is quite exciting.
Speaker 2:I think these things now are quite. Maybe not as rare as as people think. Um, I'm not sure I would pay for it, but yeah, certainly one. That I'll be chasing on breaks, that's quite good, but the stuff that's coming out so far, I find it's quite. I think it's 18 packs or something, 10 cards in each. It's quite a fun break, so it's a hobby box. It's not the most expensive, but have you ever seen the Bomb Squad cards? It's quite a fun break, so it's a hobby box. It's not the most expensive, but it's um, you get the. Have you ever seen the bomb squad cards? No, no, I haven't seen them. No, it's quite a lot of bomb squad that come out. They're quite a cool car. They're not particularly rare. They're not rare or anything like that, but they're quite a nice insert which is quite nice. I think I've got a sam donald. Um, I think I've got a Sam Donald and I think I've got a Dan Marino from a Dolphins break. I've got a couple of those coming. Yeah, the Donruss has been really nice.
Speaker 1:All I can think of. Whenever I think of Dan Marino, I just think of Ace Ventura. Do you remember him? Do you remember him being in Ace Ventura? The laces are out, yeah. So, yeah, you're looking forward to the Donruss stuff. And obviously there was a hobby box that got released this week in the UK. The hobby box for the EPL tops sold out super quick. I missed a boat on that. And then they're reselling it for, yeah, you know, 200 pound plus. But I've seen some great pulls from some of them. I've also seen some poor ones, but I guess that's part of it. I also saw, so, the festive calendar and the tops calendar. You know, I told you about the advent calendar that I got. Yeah, it looks good.
Speaker 1:Obviously some people are saying it's been brought out to quite early, um, which I guess that that could be. Yeah, it is before halloween, isn't it? But um, I've seen some people open that and, um, you get like five cards per window and someone pulled like an auto from that. Imagine that. Imagine waking up during Christmas. You know, december 7th, christmas Day, yeah, christmas Day. Open it up. I've got Gerard Auto. Yeah, get in. Unbelievable, yeah.

I'll be like, you know, like when you're younger and you, uh, you open your little window and you've got a little chocolate and then, uh, you get about a week in and you think, oh, fuck it, I'm gonna eat the whole thing. It's any day now sitting by the phone, mate, like just waiting for the phone to ring and saying my order's in it's been a long month.
Speaker 2:I'm fuming if it's October, though, because I'm I'm chomping at the bit I can imagine. So, yeah, hopefully I'll be joining the, the top CPL. It's funny because I know this is irrational thought, but in my head I'm thinking everyone else is pulling packs and pulling all these autos and jota cards and stuff like that, and I feel like I'm missing out FOMO.

Obviously it's a base, all about the base, but it's one I've only just picked up which I really really like and I thought about this for a while, but it's an Alison Becker Prism base beauty. Obviously it's a quality card. I've got it in the red top loader as well, which I started doing in my Liverpool cards. But I bleed on about Alison.

Maybe we'll do a vote, shall we which one we're going to get graded, yeah that's a good idea.
