Welcome back. Welcome back. The Stories Behind the Wall of the official podcast, powered by Voices for Justice Incorporated, our nonprofit organization that has spent the last 15 years fighting for those whose voices were stolen, silenced, and simply ignored. Bear with me'cause I'm losing my voice. I'm sorry. And I am your host, Annabel. And today I wanna tell you. How this all began, why we started this movement, why we refused to back down, and how stories behind the walls became more than just a podcast. It became a mission. We didn't start as an organization. We started as a family, a grieving, angry, determined family force to face the harsh truth that the justice system doesn't always deliver justice. In fact, sometimes it's a very system that causes the harm. 15 years ago, we were thrown into the storm. We experienced firsthand what happens when your loved one becomes a case number, and when those responsible are shielded by the very agency that are supposed to protect and serve. That was our wake up call out of pain. Voices For Justice was born a nonprofit built on truth, accountability, the relentless pursuit of justice. We made a commitment to stand up for civil and human rights to speak for those behind bars, behind walls, behind trauma, to be loud when silence became deadly. And now we bring you this podcast stories behind the walls. This isn't just talk. This is real. We interview real people. We expose real corruption. We highlight real solutions. We give the mic to those who have been silenced families, survivors, incarcerated, individuals whistleblowers and truth tellers from inside the system. And yes, we do call out corruption. When we see it, we will hold them accountable. Just as quickly read your credit where it's due. When officials listen, when action is taken, when complaints are investigated seriously, we will say thank you because the goal is justice, not just noise. We have been featured on Dateline. We've been on the news, but we're not here for headlights. We're here for the unheard. We're here for the forgotten. Let me be clear. You do not have to be afraid to challenge the system. You're not alone if you don't know where to turn. If you've been wronged, if you need someone to help you fight the fight, we are here. We can help you. File formal complaint. Connect with top attorneys in your state. Share your story publicly. Most of all, we will listen and we will act. If you wanna help us keep this fight alive, become a supporter, every single contribution helps keep us pushing forward. The link is in the show notes, whether it's$5 or$20, or simply just sharing this episode, you can be part of this mission. We're stories behind the walls, but the story isn't just ours anymore. It's yours. It's everyone. Who has ever been ignored, silenced, or abused by a system that was supposed to protect them?
