Hey fam, what's popping y'all? And welcome to the triple A podcast where you can be authentically you, anointed by God, and appointed for such a time as Miss. What's popping, y'all? I'm Shawnee. I'm Jay. And welcome. Today we are in a new location. Well, it's not a new location. We are just out of town. Uh, yesterday was Jay's birthday. So happy birthday, Jay. Put happy birthday down in the comments below. Shout out, my girl. Um, so we are out. Uh, we'll be back to our regular vacation uh this week, actually. Um, but the Lord wanted us to record this one here. Yeah. On the rock, right? So we're here, and it's been so beautiful. It's been amazing. Uh, the Lord has kept us, He has really, really shown out and shown out on by the time, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You you watch it this week. Um, there was a lot of devastation that happened in Hill Country and Kerrville, and we've been praying and covering that. So please continue to pray and cover those families, yeah, um, and their losses, and just that the Lord comforts and sustains them. And we had a Fredericksburg trip, yeah, because um some of you know I'm on this whole hiking journey right now, and I really wanted to hike the summit, and Shanet was like, Bet, I'll go with you. And so, yeah, um, the weather looked like it was gonna flood, it was gonna rain the whole time when we were driving. We had the people who knew, um the person who knew we were coming here, she was just praying, praying that the Lord parted the skies, like praying, praying, and literally he did when we were out. It was sunny, it was beautiful, and then when we got back to here, it started pouring again, so it was pouring during the night.
SPEAKER_00But going to Enchanted Rock, the Lord was downloading so much, so much, yeah, he was it was good, and it didn't start pouring until late at night, like it was pouring late night. Yeah, like as we were driving, and we talked about this in a video. Like, we were praying, we had our covering praying, and I'm like, Lord, like disclaimer, I am I hate driving in the rain. It terrifies me. My hilly, she she ain't uh she don't like the room, she don't like it, and neither do I. Hilly is my vehicle. Um, her name is Hilga. Um we're not about that life, driving in the rain, especially driving in the rain at night, even though we came during the day, but it's like it I don't like it, right? Um, but it's literally like as we were driving, it would start sprinkling. And then I'm like, Lord, like, come on, come on. And he it was literally when I prayed in the car, I was like, Lord, I need you to part these clouds in the rain, like you did the Red Sea.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so good.
SPEAKER_00For your chip, like you did those he like for those Hebrews. Like, I need you to do that for me. And he literally did, like, as we were driving, like there was a few spots, and I had to be like, uh, remind him of what he said and what he told me, like, hey sir, we about to go into like I and it literally, like, just and then or and then it'll just like sprinkle, yeah, right? And then it'll just stop. And I'm just like, oh my god, like Lord, this whole trip, he's literally been just blowing my mind. Yeah, like blowing my mind, even when we were on the rock, we did a whole video. We don't know where we're gonna post that video at just yet about like the journey behind you, and how like you're right there, almost so much closer than you think.
SPEAKER_02You're so much closer to breakthrough than you think, you're so much closer to the father. Like, there's so many times where we feel so far away from him, and he's like, I'm right here all of the day, and then this trip for us, we don't do a good job of asking for things um that we specifically might want. Like, I'll cover her in prayer all day long for the things that she wants, right? And vice versa, and then even for the pod. And so the Lord kept saying, Why don't you ask? Like, why don't you ask me? And we're like, Because it's weird. It's weird.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I don't deserve it. One, like, I don't deserve to ask you for anything. Like, I'm not asking you for nothing. Like, I'll pray for others. My thought, like, Lord, you know the desires of my heart. So I'm not gonna ask you because one, I it's selfish, or two, hold on, y'all. Let's pray because we're doing all this and we're getting real into I know, and it's gonna just go and fill it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so let's pray, Father God. Um, we just thank you because you are definitely Holy Spirit taking this to a whole different different level. And we just praise you for it. God, we thank you um for all that you are doing in our lives and everyone on um this line. God, we praise you for them. God, we ask that you cover them with a hajja protection right now in the name of Jesus, Father God. We pray that any lie that the enemy is telling them about them being authentic, anointed, appointed, and um any lie that they are not hearing you, we break that off right now in the name of Jesus, Father God, and we ask that you just continue to give them clarity, Father God. We ask that the words that come out of our lips are just yours. We become less and less, and you become greater and greater, God. We praise you and we thank you. And all of this always goes back to you in Jesus' name. We pray. Amen. Amen. Because you definitely went on a point that I was like, oh Lord. So, scripture right now, I think the last couple months, um, we can look it up, is the man, the paralyzed man um at the fountain of Baseda. Love it because there's just so much in that story um with Jesus. And literally, Jesus comes up to him and he's like, Well, why aren't you healed? Like, do you want to like do you want to be healed? What is it? And he gives all of this explanation of why he's not healed, right? And in that, it I always go back to it. Jesus knew he wanted to be healed, right? Like God knows these things, knows those desires, and he's like, I just I like it better when you you say it to me. Like, we have a relationship. I want you to tell me what you want. And I feel like that's where he's been, at least with me, in this in this journey of why you tell me what you want. I know, I might know. Well, not might, I do know, I know all things, yet it coming from you, you having that personal relationship with the Lord of saying, Hey, this is what I want, or this is what I feel. Like, um, yeah, great birthday trip. And I definitely had a moment of sadness yesterday. And um the Lord was like, just tell me what it is, right? Like, just tell me. And I'm like, you already know, and you already knew too. I was like, you already know, and he's like, just tell me. And then in that, he provided comfort and you provided truth, and so yeah, it's a relationship, that's literally what it is.
SPEAKER_00Like for any relationship that you have, whether it's a friendship, you're dating, or a marriage, or whatever, son to like whatever. Yeah, it's a relationship. How can the relationship grow if you don't communicate? Absolutely. Communication is necessary for the father as well. Just how important it is for you to uh uh what is it, communicate as husband and wife. Yeah, it's just as important for you to communicate with your heavenly father. If Jesus communicated with the father when he was down here and had to go to him and say, Lord, like X, Y, and like what makes us think that we don't need to.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so good.
SPEAKER_00And that's I think that's where a lot of people go wrong, too, is when they'll be like, Oh, I'll pray in my head. He knows like my like, yeah, he knows what you're thinking, knows what's in, but there's power in the words, life and death and the power of your tongue, absolutely. So if you're talking to your daddy audibly, like, hey, like this person, X, Y, and Z hurt me. Or this person, I like I want to bless this person, right? But if you're keeping that in your head, it stays there, right? Like, like I'm not saying that he doesn't answer prayers that you pray in your head or he doesn't know because he knows both, right? But there's power, yeah when we speak, and I think that's why we got that word of tell me what you want. I know the desires of your heart, right? I know what I know what you want, yeah. But tell me, yeah. When my kids, like I have a two-year-old, right? And he he wants something, he's not talking just yet, right? He'll point. Even though he knows what he's he knows what he's pointing at. Like, you want some juice, say it. Say what you want. Yeah, because now I'm about to start ignoring you because I know you can say it, but you're choosing not to tell me what you want. So until you tell me what you want, you can't get no juice. Because you're not using your words, you're not vocalizing it for me to be like, oh, okay, absolutely. Yeah, you can have communication. It's a two-way streak. The same way he speaks to you and downloads into you, you need to speak to him and upload to him. I like that.
SPEAKER_01That was good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, so that was that feel that was good, yeah. It's like that's good. Okay.
SPEAKER_01So, y'all, so good.
SPEAKER_00That was little nuggets. Today we're talking about anointed, being anointed. Um, so our name is triple A, right? Context, yeah. Our name is Triple A, and Triple A stands for authentically you, anointed by God, and appointed for such a time as this. And it's so funny because in my notebook, when we were like trying to figure out like what our names was gonna be, I was like, well, what the heck? Like, interesting, like AAA, like, oh, I like Anointed Appointed, and then authentically you, right? But I had those names like in different like sections, absolutely, and I was like playing with them, and then I was like, bro, like what we gonna do? So we were like naming them off, like canceling them, and like I'm like, Lord, what is our name? Like what do you like want us to call this thing? Like, you told us to do this, we don't know. What do you want? Right? And then I don't even know how it came about, but we were like, that's it. Let's call it triple A.
SPEAKER_02We're actually on a like 24-hour fast. It wasn't full 24 hours, but like we were on a fast trying to figure out the name because again, we're like, Lord, what do you want? Like, what do you want? We really don't want to step out of anything that he doesn't want, and so I think we did, and then we got on the phone and was like, hey, and it was just both confirmation, yeah, and so yeah, today today is anointed.
SPEAKER_00So I'm laughing, I'm not gonna ask you. So, what does anointed mean? It literally is just to be set apart, to be chosen, right? Uh, he had his ones where he like just anointed, right? Like in the old testament, it talks about Saul, it talks about David being anointed, it talks about how they anointed the priest and all the things like those those people were set apart, called and chosen to do something specific for the Lord, right? Whether you were the king, you had to lead the nation, or you know, your providence or whatever, or you were the priest, you took care of uh his house, absolutely, right? So anointed, like even in for today for us, we're all anointed. The word tells us in uh sorry y'all got a few little cards here. Uh, I think it's uh first Peter uh to be holy because I am holy. What does that mean? Set yourself apart to be like the father and not like this world, right? And then in Acts uh 13, 2, y'all. Y'all get y'all Bibles, y'all know what's up. Y'all probably don't because it's only episode two. However, go get your Bibles because I want y'all to see in the word for yourselves. Like, don't again, don't ever just take what we say, take it back to the Lord, take it back to the Lord and open up that book and get revelation for yourself. Like, don't don't ever just listen to what somebody is saying, especially when it comes to his word. Um, always go back and check it out for yourself. Uh, so go to Acts 13 and 2. And this is just a quick little whoop the whoop. Um, let's see. Um, and it's talking about how uh the Lord called uh Barnabas and Saul, but I I wanted to read uh two because it just stuck out to me in this context on what we we're speaking about today. And I'm reading from the NLT version. Um, one day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, appoint Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them. Okay, so again, our name, anointed, appointed, authentically you, right? Um so the Lord called them to do a work, though they were in uh they were in wherever they were worshiping, right? Um, he called them and set them apart to go and do a work, correct, right? So that really stood out to me and for like that part. He has like even like with the whole like in the sense of um like being anointed uh in the old testament, and for us now, it's different but the same. Right, though we're not kings and uh you know, like priests and all of the things that like Saul and Samuel and the house of whomever, y'all. Look it up. Um, they were like the when the house, so specific like tribe or whatever. I think it was Levi, the house of Levi. They were the priest, okay, okay. So yeah, I was on, I was on it, right? Um they were called, they were anointed to be the priest, right? To take care of the father's house. So for today, for me, like I'm like, well, what is uh what is being anointed mean for me? It means for me to be called, set apart, to be chosen, right? To do something different from what I see around me because he chose me, he called me by name, therefore, I'm anointed and I have all power, all dominion, all the things, right?
SPEAKER_02To execute what he's anointed me for. Absolutely. So I'm gonna take us to Matthew 28. Yeah, I'm gonna tie it. Everything you said is perfect. Matthew 28, um, eighteen. Actually, I'll do 16 through 20. I'll do the whole thing. So this is the Great Commission. Then the 11 disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him. But some of them doubted. Jesus came and told his disciples, I have given you all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all commands I have given you, and be sure of this. I am with you always, even to the end of the ages. Thank you, Lord. So, as you were saying, yes, we are anointed truly to go spread the gospel, right? Um to make disciples, point them back to the Lord, right? Um, and in that send them out as well, right? Don't hoard. Don't we're talking about don't be hoarding people, like send them out as well. And then with that, I'm gonna really quick go to Isaiah 61, one through three. And so this is um the passage that Jesus is speaks on um when he's in the synagogue. However, it goes with us in this the spirit of the sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor, he has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted, and to proclaim the captives will be released and the prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord's favor has come, and with it the day of God's anger against their enemies. So it goes on in this part, and so we are imitators of Christ, we are being um taken from glory to glory, being more and more like Christ, and in that we all of us are anointed to bring good news to the poor, to share um the Great Commission, to go out and make disciples and tell people about the good news of Jesus Christ. Like I'm getting emotional, yeah. Um why I know all that the Lord has done in my life, I know what he has saved me through, um, what he has delivered me from, what he has healed me from, generational curses that he has broken off of my family, like that testimony is just not for me, right? It's for you, it's for the people I come in contact with, so they know how good our God is, how good Jesus is, and he just loves you. So your testimony is not just for you, like by the blood of the lamb and by their testimonies, it's not just for you. Your testimony has the power to break off chains out of other people. They can see the Lord did this for me, the Lord did this for me, he can do it for you. I know what special, like in that context of like he doesn't play favoritism, he doesn't do any of that, like he wants to do the same thing in your lives, and so that is the good news.
SPEAKER_00Like, that is the good news that is that right stop letting shame and guilt keep you from telling your story. That's so good. Stop letting what happened in your mama's house keep you from telling your story because you don't want to offend your mom, you don't want to offend Granny. Like, yeah, if it hurt you, tell it. I'm telling. I am telling. Y'all well, I think I said that last time. I'm telling I'm I'm a snitch. I'm telling. You're telling the Lord, I'm telling the Lord, and I'm telling my testimony because no, I will never give anybody the opportunity to try to guilt or shame me or hold something over my head. There's power when you release it, there's power when you expose the dark places within you. There's power when you allow the light to shine in those dark places. Now you're free, you're you're not tied, you're not bound to anything. Yeah, so share, because again, you never know who you're helping.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. So I love that you said that in saying we tell the father, right? And in that testimony, the father is doing a healing, the father is um speaking to us, doing all of that, and then after example, let's just pick an example, um broken heart heartedness. God, me and this person broke up. I feel like they were my whole world, they were my everything for all of these years. It hurts me, Lord. I need you, right? You tell the Father yes, and in that, we can go to my testimony at this point now because we're already there. Um went through years of just being not years, a dark spot for about six months after that breakup. And the Lord was my only friend. Like, Holy Spirit was my only friend. Like, I had friends, my friends didn't know what was going on. Um, my family really didn't know what was going on, and so in that the Lord Himself brought me. Comfort. The Lord Himself spoke truth back into who I am, and my identity wasn't in that situation. My identity wasn't with that guy or whatever. And from that, now I can have that testimony of like, hey, you're gonna get through this too. Like, yes, that happened. Yes, abuse happened. Yes, um, it was a very hard time, and the Lord brought me through it. And you're right, now I can have those conversations of yes, the Lord helped bring me through it, of a dark spot that I was like really sad, like, really, really sad. Um, depression runs in my family, and so trying to make sure also that I'm giving that back to the Lord of like, Lord, I don't want to go down that route, like I don't want to go down that route, like I need your help in it. So I love that you're saying that. You're like, yes, we tell the father, the father is helping us through all of this, and then we tell that testimony and not knowing who it can help.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's so good.
SPEAKER_00And in some sometimes he's healing you while you're sharing. So sometimes he'll put you in a wilderness, I'm saying in a wilderness season where he's shunning you because he needs to do something within you, right? Not saying that in the other situations, but sometimes we go through those wilderness seasons where it's just me and you. Yeah, you and him, yeah, right? And then sometimes he'll do it like in real time as you're open up opening up your mouth and sharing. Can I share? He's done that with me. What?
SPEAKER_02What those situations I'm asking for me, like, do I share with everyone, or is there times where the Lord might just tell me I could share with these people?
SPEAKER_00Or but sometimes people don't even know that he it's him saying to share. And they'll just open their mouth and find healing and peace and comfort. When I feel like when you find those, when you find the fruit, like you can see him in it opposed to just telling old girl next door, right? Your business, because just gossiping, right? And then you don't feel at ease, you don't feel peace, you don't feel like that person's being patient and kind with you, right? Like, so for me, I say that because for me, sometimes in my healing process and in my healing journey, the Lord just like I'll just talk, like I'll just what I'm going through. If I feel safe with that person, I'll I'll I'll talk. And it's not even like feel safe with that person as if I know them, but I feel like the Holy Spirit knows the Holy Spirit, right? Yeah, right. So if somebody like if he like if like if I feel led to like say like if something happened yesterday and I'm like, bro, like or it's hurting me or like weighing me down, like in real time, like I'll go. Like, I feel like the Lord you does it with me in a bunch of different ways. However, it's different for everybody, right? Like, he'll also like in real time, like I'll be talking out my problems, and then I'll find comfort, I'll get the wisdom that I need, and then and sometimes you have to have those conversations multiple times with multiple people sometimes, or the same person, therapy, yeah like right. So that part, yeah, big advocate of therapy. Yeah, go to therapy, get healed, like talk about what you're feeling because what yeah, just do it. Um, so back to anointed, yes, even in so you just read Isaiah, correct? Um 61, one through three. What it was about again, y'all be forgetting.
SPEAKER_02Um, this is where the spirit of the sovereign Lord is upon me, the for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so it's the old testament. We're still because Jesus came to fulfill this, he didn't come to cancel out what was done in the old testament. Um, he's telling us to do the same thing here, right? Like we're we're called to do the same thing here. The anointing that they had back then is the same anointing that we have now. We still have the power to heal, we heal still have the power to set free, we still have the the power to overcome and fight wars and all the things, right? We may not be physically, well, some of us may not be physically at war, but we're all fighting a spiritual war, absolutely, and we have and we have that power that trample on snakes and scorpions. That part right there. He's the same authority that he's getting that he gave King David and all the things, we have that same authority. Agreed, we have that same power, and if y'all go to Psalms 89, I'm just gonna read it, and then I'm gonna go to Matthew's, y'all. This is a little wordy because I think the Lord wants y'all to see how you're anointed and how to walk in your anointing and keep it. That keep it. She's trying to take the anointing back. Oh my, he had to get it together. Anywho, go to Psalms 89 and I'm gonna start at 19. Okay. Okay, long ago you spoke in a vision to your faithful people. You said, I have risk, I have raised up a warrior, I have selected him from the common people to be king, set apart, right? I have found my servant David, I have anointed him with my holy oil, I will steady him with my hand, with my powerful arm, I will make him strong. His enemies will not defeat him, nor will the wicked overpower him. I will beat down his adversaries before him and destroy those who hate him. My faithfulness and unfailing love will be with will be with him, and my authority he will grow in power. And by my authority, he will grow in power, right? And then it talks about how he will be exalted over uh the seas and he'll have dominion over the rivers. Like going back to Luke 10, 19, like we have authority, we have power, we have dominion over all of this. Like they have to bow to us because he has given us that authority, right? So if we go to Matthew 10, where Jesus He sends us out His uh disciples, uh, He told up, He told them Jesus called His 12 disciples to gather and give them and He gave them authority to cast out evil spirits to heal the sick of every to heal the sick of every kind. Wait, sorry y'all, uh cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness, illnesses, and then it goes back to 28 where it talks about the Great Commission, right? And how we are to go forth and make disciples, right? And all the things that come with that. It's the same thing, the only difference is now we literally had uh an example to walk it out in front of us to show us what it's like. Who is the example? Our example is Christ, correct? Right? So if we don't know who he is, or we don't know his journey, how can we go out and make disciples, or how can we fully walk in our anointing that he has given us? It's our birthright. We have been called to be set apart. What are you gonna do with the anointing that the Lord has placed in your hands on you?
SPEAKER_02He's also given us the Holy Spirit within us to guide us, to to comfort us. He's our advocate, our comforter, all of those things. And as you're walking in that anointing, right? Um, he guides as you allow him to. As you allow him to do, as you are not grieving the Holy Spirit, as you are allowing him to do so, he will walk you through um the anointing. And going back to the anointing and the reason for it, you're anointed for an assignment, is what we were talking about. And we talked about the assignments being at this point, go make disciples, go spread the gospel, go tell people the good news. It's that simple.
SPEAKER_00That's it. People make it complicated, they or they like attribute it to like worldly things. Like, what's what's my purpose in life? To spread the gospel, to go and make disciples. That's your purpose. That's what we're that's what we're supposed to be doing. Yet there's bonuses of uh of just living life as a human that you you have a job, you have uh like you're called to like okay, I braid hair, or you know what I'm saying? Like you have your niche, you have your different niches. However, your purpose on this earth is to go spread the gospel, go make disciples, and and tell people of the goodness of our father. That's it.
SPEAKER_02That's it. Yeah, and so then there's also so that's base, right? Like if we we look at levels, so that's that's base, anointing, based uh appointing, all of that, right? And then there's times where the Lord will have you in a specific place assignment and anoint you for that one as well, and so like there's there's levels to that, and he does it um as he as he sees fit, right? The anointing is how do I want to say this? Um the Lord gets to choose, right? The Lord, the Lord chooses who he anoints for um to be president right now, to be um, because we were talking about kings, to be a preacher in this situation, to be a ministry filled, a missions filled, to go out for Africa or whatever. There is an anointing that comes with certain assignments that the Lord gives you, yeah, and the Holy Spirit is guiding you to as well. And so I just love that. I love that we were talking about Saul and David and all of that, and in both of those situations, it wasn't something that they were seeking after. They were not seeking out Lord, come anoint me, right? Come anoint me. The Lord chose who he chose, and then with that, that assignment for Saul and David, honestly, to be king and to reign over his people and to truly love his people and guide them as well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you said something, and I don't want like new believers to be like, Well, what level am I on? The leveling part in the sense of we all are called for different assignments. That's all she means. That's all that means. Sorry, I had to go back to that because only so it was like just clarify because that could be confusing. Or people can be like, Oh, I'm not because I hear it a lot. I'm not on your level. I get that a lot. I don't, I don't, I don't know the word like you know it. Like it's not uh it's not a competition. Like he's called you to where you he called you, he called me to where he called me. There's stuff that you can do that I can't do. There's stuff that you're supposed to do that, you know what I'm saying? So it's not so much leveling up, right? Yeah, it's just being placed where he called you that part and where he appointed you to be. Are you in the right position? Are you in someone else's lane? I think I think that's where my driving thing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, my yeah, my mind works in levels, but I'm so glad you went through that. Like, because yeah, I'm not that people do at all. Yeah, um, take people off a pedestal, take me off of the pedestal, take her off of the pedestal, please. I'm raggedy.
SPEAKER_00Like we are raggedy in the sense we're not perfect, we're just running this race, even like reading the word and stuff and doing this, like we're not perfect, we're just willing. Yeah, we're just willing and being obedient to what the Lord we still struggle, we still have our own stuff, like the enemy still tries to play in our mind. However, are you gonna sit there? I I refuse to sit there. I'll give it some days sometimes, yeah, and I'm like, all right, Lord, enough is enough. And I think I talked about it in our heart check of letting go of his hand, saw, and he ended up getting that anointing snatched from him, and then he went crazy, and then he didn't go crazy, the Lord sent a tormenting, like he sent that spirit upon him because how dare you! Oh, y'all, I love the book of Samuel first and second. Like, I you know I love the song, like uh David. Yeah, he's my he's my favorite person. I do love David, like he's my favorite person, but first Samuel and Second Samuel are my favorites.
SPEAKER_02So, something with all of this going back to the anointing, so good, there is a cost that comes with it, and I feel like the Lord keeps downloading that. Um, and when we talked about authentic and you being anointed and you being on the assignment that God placed you on, not the assignment that you decided to do, right? That's in somebody else's lane that the Lord is trying to grow them and anoint them in that way, and now you're in that space, and you're just not listening to the Lord when He's like, Hey, that was good, sir. Um I didn't call you to be in a mission field somewhere, I'm calling you to do missions here in Houston, and I'm like, oh, ouch. But if I'm out there doing something when he's called me to do this, um making sure that we are staying in that that that space that he's called us to do. The anointing, there is a consecration that comes with that. There's a setting apart. We talked a lot um last week about sometimes being so unique and different. We said going back to unique, but like so different, weird is a term that I used that the Lord had to pluck out of me, and in that He has you in these uniquenesses for a certain reason, and that also goes with your assignment, is what I feel like. Um I'm thinking of me, like I love science, right? I love science, and because of the route that he led me on um throughout college and and and my career now, I'm able to go and travel and meet people and talk to them about Jesus, right? Like um in that field where I get to still do science and I get to tell people about the Lord, which is really cool, and I believe that he's anointed me to do that, right? And so, yeah, that's that's so good.
SPEAKER_00So I remember when we we were like diving into I forget, but I forget like what we were going through in that like little season, but we were talking about uh counting the cost, and that was so hard. Like and I was talking about a situation that I was in, and I literally the Holy Spirit was literally like, This is your cross. Are you gonna pick it up and bear it, or are you gonna live your life how you want to do it? Right? Like, yes, this cross is it's not too heavy because my my burdens aren't heavy, right? And if you give right, so it's not too heavy, it's just you're sacrificing being or walking in a different lane that I didn't necessarily call you to walk in. So counting your cost, let's go to Matthew 8:18. Uh the cost of following Jesus when he talked about uh when Jesus saw the crowd around him, he instructed the his disciples to cross to the other side of the lake. Uh then one of the teachers of the religion of religious laws uh said to him, Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go. But Jesus said, replied, Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to even lay his head. Another of his disciples said, Lord, first let me return home and bury my father. And Jesus told him, Follow me now. Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead. That right there, first of all, it's so much in just that that I was just like, I I can go down so many like like holes with that because that speaks to me in so many different little areas. So, but for context today, right? What are you giving up to follow him? You've been living your life how you want it to all the time. It's not gonna feel good to start following the Lord because you now have to let go of certain things you like, certain people that is not connected to your calling that's keeping you in this space, whether it's drinking, whether it's partying, whether it's it doesn't matter, lustful desires, whether you're sleeping around or like whatever you're doing, right? There's a cost. The cost is what are you giving up? What are you giving to him right to get him? What are you giving up? There it's not, it's it does oh when I tell y'all, dying to yourself. I tell I say it all the time. It literally feels like someone is ripping, like score like ripping my skin off, like dying to myself hurt so bad. Like so bad, where I just be like, like that's how like oh I'd be like, Lord, and I'll be trying, and it's like I'm it's literally a war happening within me, and that's how it comes out because I'm like I'm trying, and it's not you know what I'm saying, or I'm not, you get what I'm saying? Like, so it's the war with inside of me that's trying to do good, trying to be that follower on this right path, right? And then my flesh is which is what I'm killing, that's what you're killing when you're fasting. Fasting is for us, not for him. It's drawing us closer to him, it's denying our flesh, which is why you're always, you know, like bruh, you're because you're feeding your flesh, right? So within this, like you're give you're giving up something.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so now counting the cost and and going to that practically wise is what is the Lord asking you to give up? Um, I feel like there are times where we're fasting's a perfect example um because the fast that we went on with our friend group, it was like true definition of fasting, right? Like um dying to self-like not eating and then giving to the poor after that, like the true definition of it. And sometimes we're like, hey, I'm gonna give up Instagram for a week, which is cool, which is addicted and just starting. But I'm saying, what did the Lord ask you? is what I'm saying. Like, what is the Lord asking? If the Lord asks you to give up Instagram, that's fine, that's totally fine. But if it's a situation the Lord is like, yeah, but I also need for me you to go on a 30-day spending fast. I'm gonna pick that Instagram for me, because I'm like, this what might be easier for me than this. This one, I'm like, Lord, I need you every single day. Lord, I need you. Like it's the crawling, that that breaking in that of again, what is the Lord asking you? Because that is the picking up of the cross, that is um the dying to the flesh in that, and there could be multiple things and why, and he'll give you that answer. And so the counting the cost, we were having that conversation because before this was like three years ago, before really truly stepping into anything ministry, um, in my opinion, like the part of shepherding people, maybe that's better, shepherding people. The Lord had me um in St. Louis, and he was like, Okay, now count the cost. And every single day out of those two weeks, he was like, If I took this away from you, would you still love me? Would you still follow me? And as you're talking about this, like, um, let me go bury my dad. Like in that mindset, you're like, let me go bury my daddy. Like, I should go bury my daddy. This is what I should do. And he's like, No, come on, right? And so in all of those situations, they were really big hard things where I'm like, Lord, that would hurt, that would hurt so bad. Yeah, and you're still telling me to pick up, come follow you, and every day, yes, I'll do it. Like, yes, I'll do it, um, to whatever end, and and being at that place of truly counting the cost of anointing for assignment. That's what I'll call it as anointing for assignment. Because as you're saying, yes, there's the fasting, but there's also the consecration. I think for me, I haven't been able, he didn't let me watch. Let me change that. Yeah, I need it to protect um the my eyes and the things that. I am allowing myself to see and like participate in all of that, and so I haven't been truly released to watch anything really on TV outside of the chosen in the House of David, which I still haven't really watched. So David's but there is that yeah, that consecration and that setting apart that the father told me, not necessarily told my mom or told you or something like that, because the Lord was like, hey, you need to give this up because it's changing um what you're believing about yourself.
SPEAKER_00That part you got um what I got? I don't know, y'all. I was just sitting here thinking, like just I don't know. Y'all, my mind is like all over in a good way.
SPEAKER_02And the whole thing was we literally had a different scripture for this. We did, we did we had a whole different scripture for this. We literally we started praying, and the Lord was like, Yeah, you're overthinking this. We were you're you're overthinking this, and um, I'm just gonna show up. And so we prayed before, as always. Um told him to have his way. We anointed ourselves, um, and just let the Holy Spirit move in that. And so the main things were that the Lord wanted you to know you're all anointed, you're all that part, all anointed to go proclaim the good news um and to share Christ with others, and in that, um what was I saying? Um God sets us a part in those as well when it comes to assignments and the situation. Like if I'm going out, for instance, um, if I'm going out in the club every Saturday night, and then I'm saying, Hey, come listen to me, come come to church, all of the things, yeah, you're gonna look at me a certain way. It it just is like you're gonna look and be like, Well, you're doing this, yeah, and then you're preaching, so to say, or um talking about God on a podcast. Yeah, make it make sense, make it make sense, throwing that out there, huh? No, it keeps coming out and you saw the children every time. I was like, Lord, you saw it made me super nervous, it made me feel really uncomfortable. Why is that working being thrown away or thrown out there? And so, in that being set apart and the things counting the cost, the things that we have to die to our flesh, um, that might be honestly um stop going to the club, stop partying, stop like what is the Lord asking you to do? And he'll do it in layers, guys.
SPEAKER_00Like it's a journey, it's a journey, it's not a sprint race, like it's a journey. Is that you're gonna fall? Yeah, the same way we we're human, we all fall, we're not perfect. Again, I just said earlier, like we are a hot mess, right? Like, we raggedy too, like we fall, however, we're willing to get back up, right? I think I made you your grandmother when you just agree, but yes, um, we're not perfect. Sorry, going back to that. You're right. Okay, we're not perfect. Um, give yourself grace, yeah, give other believers grace, right? Like we're all just walking this thing out trying, yes, give grace and hold yourself accountable and still hold others accountable in love.
SPEAKER_02In love, in love, truth, and grace back when we are just coming out of place of just I'm gonna smack you upside your head with a Bible, right? And we're speaking in a place that does not show grace, it does not show God's love, it does not show Christ's love. Like again, going back to really reading the gospels, he loved people and he loved people well, like loved people well, and there is a truth and a grace in that. And so, yes, in the anointing, in the appointing, in being authentic, giving people grace and doing them both. Because on the other side, if we're just giving a ton of grace and no truth, that's not Christ either.
SPEAKER_00That's why he tells us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves, treat people how you would want to be treated. If you've seen uh followers of Christ, I don't like saying Christians, y'all, because there's a difference for me. For me, there's a difference, right? It's people that just say they're Christians or they believe in God, but they don't necessarily follow Christ, they go by what they heard, or they interpret, they manipulate the word uh for what works for them, right? But somebody that's following Christ is truly walking down that straight and narrow, not saying that those people are perfect, not saying that those people won't fall, not saying that those people won't face the same thing that everybody else faced. Absolutely. It's just they made the decision to walk in their anointing and be set apart from the world and not intentionally do anything that's gonna grieve the father. So for me, yeah, that's why I like to say followers of Christ, because everybody's a Christian nowadays, and that's why we get so much, like, you know, all the things. That was good. So that part that was good. Oh, you like that? Yeah, that was good. Yeah, that's how I think about it. Um, but let's go to 2 Corinthians 1 and 21. It says, it is good, it is God who enables us along with you to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us and he has identified us as his own, anointed us, right, by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as uh the first installment that guarantees everything that he has promised. So I think another translation may say anointed. However, this is him talking about us being set apart, right? Him choosing us, right? Him anointing us to be and to walk in who he called us to walk in. So we ain't gonna keep rambling. I feel like less in this thing because this is good, y'all. If y'all have questions, or if y'all have more about the anointing or want to give us your perspective on it, put it in the comment section below, or you can email us at tripleapodcast91 at gmail.com, and we can continue this conversation definitely. Um, I think these first three.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the Lord is like foundation, yeah. And then I think he's he's bringing certain things back.
SPEAKER_00I I agree. So, y'all go out, walk in the anointing that God called you to be, walk in being called apart to be set apart, because that's all anointing is choose to be set apart if you're looking more like the world than like Christ, there's a problem, yeah. And not even like because I know a lot of people say uh looking like the church. No, we don't want you to look the church, it's a hospital. I worked in a hospital for 10 years, it's disgusting, it's dirty, it's messy. It's messy because that's where a that's a place where people go to get healed, right? It it looks clean, right? And yeah, there's healing taking place in there, there's people being set free from different all the things in there, however, it's in hot it's a hospital. Yeah, where who goes sick people, people that you know that you know that wouldn't, you know, so I can go on the whole thing Christ.
SPEAKER_02It's so good, it's so good. And I I love that you said that because it it went back to uh the church hurt comment from last week. Oh yeah, that time I did, and so with that, yes, be more like Christ. Who is Christ? Start in starting the gospels, starting the gospels that from starting Matthew, and then just Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the four gospels.
SPEAKER_00Start there if you want to know, get to know his character, who he was, how he walked this thing out, what he did, what he told us to do, how he told us to do it. So I think that's great. I love that again. We are not Bible scholars, we are just two friends, sisters doing this thing, being obedient, walking this thing out, reading the word and interpreting it the way the Lord has given it to you. The revelation. Yeah, he has given us to give it us, he may give you a different revelation, he may uh put it on you a different way. And again, every time I read the word, I get something different. Even going back to Matthew, I think, two, whatever that verse was. Like when I was like, oh, I can I it's so many different like things that I get out of that one thing, so you may get a new revelation. If you do, please share it. Like, we would love, love, love, love, love to hear it. So, yes, we're excited about what the Lord is doing, what he's going to do in and through you through this podcast. We hope that this is um a first step for you. And if you've been walking this thing out and needed a little reminder, we just hope it blesses you in whatever the way the Holy Spirit wants to bless you. Um, let's pray. Ow, we love y'all. Oh, me. Father. Funny, Father God, we thank you. We thank you for everything that you just did, Father God. Father God, as we close out, we ask that you cover each and every person under the sound of my voice, Father God. Remind them that they are called, that you have chosen them to be set apart, Father God, that you have anointed and appointed them uh to go and grow deeper in you, Father God. So I just pray that you give them a newfound hunger and thirsting for your word, for your will for their lives, Father God. I pray that they submit to you every area of in every area of their lives, Father God, and that you just blow their mind in only a way you can, Father God. I pray that you give them some sort of uh word, uh, whether it's your scriptures, Father God, to hold on to, Father God, to help them increase their faith, Father God. For the uh believers that just need you to show up and show out, Father God, I just pray that you give them some sunshine, Father God, to let them know that you are with them, that you have never left them, that you love them, that they're not alone, Father God, that you are their comforter, Father God, that you hear them, Father God, that as they speak, you're listening, Father. So I just thank you for everything that you're doing, and I thank you for everything that you're about to do. I pray that you cover me and Jay and cover our family that's listening. In Jesus' mighty name, it is so. Amen.
SPEAKER_03Amen.
SPEAKER_02Love y'all, peace. Hey family, what an episode! There was just so much wisdom, so much revelation from the Holy Spirit, and so much kicking our butts at part. Oh man. But if you got nothing else out of this episode, we want you to get the one thing, and that is Jesus is madly, madly, madly in love with you. He loves you so much. He came on this earth, died a sinner's death, was crucified, and rose in three days for you.
SPEAKER_01For you, you didn't even have to do anything. He's not asking you to do anything, he just wants you to know that he loves you and he wants his sons and daughters back.
SPEAKER_00So we want to offer you the free gift of salvation, and it's so simple. It's just through a simple prayer. We can pray that now. All you have to do is repeat after me. It's that simple. Father God, Father God, I am a sinner. I am a sinner. I believe that you died.
SPEAKER_01I believe that you died, and I believe that you rose.
SPEAKER_00And I believe that you rose. And I believe that you're living right now, and I believe that you're living right now. Father, I ask you to forgive me.
SPEAKER_01Father, I ask that you forgive me of all of my sins, of all of my sins, everything I've done in you. Everything that I've done in my life. The known and the unknown.
SPEAKER_00Father God, I receive you.
SPEAKER_01Father God, I receive you in my heart, in my heart, and I confess with my mouth that you God, that you God, our Lord and Savior, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ over my life, over my life. I believe you died, I believe you died, and I believe you rose again for me to be set free to be set free in Jesus' mighty name.
SPEAKER_00I pray, I pray, amen. Congratulations are rejoicing. The word tells us that he will leave the 99 to get the ones, to get you. He's chasing after you, and he is so, so oh, he just gave me the vision on this day that if I don't see him on his throne, it's because he's chasing me down. Yeah, so he's chasing you down. He's not sitting around waiting for you to come to him, he is chasing you down, he's right there with you. So I just hope that answer the knock. This ain't the time for that. Yes, answer. Uh, we want to walk alongside you as you pray that prayer. The enemy is gonna come and try and snatch it right out of your mouth. But I believe, truly believe, that that prayer fell on fertile ground and that you truly receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. And we want to come alongside you. So if you would like us to, you could email us at triple apodcast91 at gmail.com. And we would love to walk alongside you, hold you accountable, pray with you, uh, sharpen you, um, right, disciple you, like whatever the Lord leads us to do and leads uh you to for us. Like on that part, that part. So follow his lead. Our yes is to the Lord. So whatever he wants to do through this, we're gonna allow him. So we just hope and pray that you have a blessed day. And we are praying for you. Thank you for watching. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe. Love you and bye.
