Jet-lagged from Paris and already on the mics, we kick things off with a wild headline: an alleged Louvre theft of the French crown jewels and Louis XIV’s stones. From there the ride gets sharper and more personal—music loss hits home with the passing of Sam Rivers, plus close-to-home pneumonia scares that remind us how fast life can tilt. That mood swing becomes the engine for the rest of the show: crack a joke, tell the truth, and keep moving.

Basketball fans get the full spread. We break down the Warriors’ cap squeeze and how a league drifting toward unicorn bigs changes the math on small ball. Wembanyama’s reach, Holmgren’s touch, and the Durant–Nowitzki lineage collide with Golden State’s pace, passing, and Curry’s relentless off-ball cardio. Klay’s nine-dribble masterpiece comes up as the perfect case study in system brilliance. Westbrook’s veteran-minimum path turns into a bigger question about aging, adaptation, and respect for effort. Then collectibles enter the chat: LeBron’s rare autograph deal with Topps, the psychology of scarcity, and why the timing will fuel retirement rumors.

We take a hard pivot to the news you read and why AI might be getting too much of the byline. If more than half of “reported” stories are machine-written, what happens to context and trust? That theme shadows baseball, where we defend bullpen decisions, explain why starters rarely face hitters a third time, and marvel at Shohei Ohtani’s alien-level night. Canada’s men’s football slide adds sting, and a candid debate on fairness in women’s sports tackles category integrity with respect and clarity.

We close at home: Halifax in full autumn color, winter tires booking out weeks, and real estate finally showing “new price” signs. There’s lottery-house math, contractor backlog reality, and a reminder that property taxes don’t care about your dream kitchen. It’s sports, news, and everyday life—fast, honest, and never boring.

If you laughed, learned, or yelled at us in your car, tap follow, hit the bell, and leave a quick review. Share this with a friend who needs a smarter sports chat and a good laugh. What should we debate next?

Paris Trip And Louvre Robbery Rumors

SPEAKER_05

That's why it was so fast. Seven minutes in and out. Kind of like my sexual experiences.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Sure. That's a seven minutes pretty long, isn't it? It's foreplay included.

SPEAKER_05

That's the best thing you said, so uh Mike and I were away for a week there. We went to Paris with uh two other buddies, and we just came back about an hour ago, but we're gonna do the podcast anyway. And uh just coincidental, uh the Louvre got robbed, apparently. Hey everybody, welcome back to You Would Think with Bobby D and Uncle Frank. Yeah, Uncle Frank.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

How did you get through the airport with that fake ID?

SPEAKER_04

I know, right?

SPEAKER_05

So uh Mike and I were away for a week there. We went to Paris with uh two other buddies, and we just got back about an hour ago, but we're gonna do the podcast anyway. And uh just coincidental, uh the Louvre got robbed, apparently from some some jewels. That's what we're seeing, yeah. Yeah, the the the French crown jewels were stolen. And if you don't know what those are, uh basically those are all the jewels from like the 790 AD all the way through to whatever. Napoleon wore some of that stuff, just so you know. And uh, by the way, the Napoleon thing being short was total bullshit, just so you know. 100%. Napoleon complex wasn't true. He was not short, he's taller than me. So what am I? Yeah, everybody else said you only got Napoleon complex is short. No, Napoleon was like 5'9 or 10. Yeah, so maybe anyway.

SPEAKER_02

So, oh yeah, and we can still we can still have little man complex with when we're like 5'9, 5'8. Can we?

SPEAKER_05

Can we? Yeah, okay, all right.

SPEAKER_02

I wonder what's the what's the average height for males in the world? I don't know. Now it is used to be about five, seven, five, eight. I bet it's like five ten. It's gotta be higher now.

SPEAKER_05

I bet it's five ten. Yeah, we'll find out Mechatech guy put it right here. All right, all right. We'll see what it is. Uh yeah, so anyway, they stole the French crown jewels and then they stole Louis XIV's uh uh what what's called his stone collection. So it's like stone, like big stones like amethyst and rubies. So it's you know, easy stuff to pocket. So, you know, our friends that came through the airport there, Phil and Dave. I'm sure that the suitcase didn't really get checked, right? Just saying. But uh yeah, so anyway, poor people uh and uh we don't know how they broke in through the window.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it just says it's all it said was. Oh, wait, does it say that already? Well it said they went in through the window. Oh, good, who I thought it just rather somebody is. Uh the the the Louvre, it was open at the time, too.

SPEAKER_05

So the Louvre was open at the time. Well, of course it was. I'm acting like we don't know anything.

SPEAKER_02

Well, you know, 9 30 in the morning, so but still already open. People are already.

SPEAKER_05

I know you guys already had three espresso indeed, by the way.

SPEAKER_02

All right.

SPEAKER_05

Good to go. That's why it was so fast. Seven minutes in and out. Kind of like my sexual experiences.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, sure. That's a seven minutes pretty long, isn't it? It's foreplay included.

SPEAKER_00

That's the best thing you said.

SPEAKER_05

We're getting, of course, but you know, we're all in here just being idiots.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That's fantastic.

SPEAKER_01

We don't fucking have there's no floorplay.

SPEAKER_05

I'm coming in. Oh, oh, I think I feel red. That was pretty Mike, I almost died. I always laugh at those ones where it's like what? You're an idiot.

SPEAKER_02

Then think you know, it's like the ones where there's a picture of a spends all this money on her hair and makeup and like lingerie, and there's me at the end of the bed, and it's like a fucking orangutan.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Uh that's killer, man. Yeah. Anyway, uh, another uh uh a sad thing. If uh you're a Limp Biscuit fan, Fred Durst was the lead singer, of course, who slept with everybody since we're talking about sleeping. Um the bassist died, uh, Sam Rivers, his name was. And uh, if you don't know about Sam Rivers, Sam Rivers was a raging alcoholic for a long time. He left Limp Biscuit, got a liver transplant, got clean, came back, and uh apparently he just died of pneumonia. He was clean, he wasn't uh wasn't alcohol related. But 48.

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna say he must have been young.

Height Myths, Crown Jewels, And Airport Jokes

SPEAKER_05

Young man, 48, yeah. So you know, hate when uh the young guys go, you know, if you're 98, you lived a good life, but you're 48, you got a lot of time left, right? So I think that's what um just the poor Sam Rivers Yes, Diane Keaton just passed away. Yep, pneumonia. Uh uh one of my cousins, not gonna mention names, but uh he had real bad pneumonia also. He had to go to the the hospital, like and they have all these drugs, and he's still just coming around now. He was out the house there about a week and a half ago.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, my holy smokes. But he's you know, he's up there too, right? You know, but uh this pneumonia's getting people, man. Yeah, like it's it's bad, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. You know, so well it always is, right? It's always especially if you have any sort of compromised immune system or well, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I know a guy, and I I could say his name, Eric, uh, that I worked with uh overseas, and he said he was not feeling good for the longest time. Went in, doctor says, Man, you got what's called walking pneumonia. He's like, uh what? He goes, Yeah, he says, Yeah, you're not that healthy, man. Eric's okay, well, yeah, I gotta do something about this. Yeah, and they got him on a puffer and meds and all this. But yeah, he had no idea. Like, geez. Yeah, so that can happen even in a warm climate.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Right. Crazy, man. Yep.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so wow, basketball, brother. Speaking of brothers, I feel so bad for Seth right now. So if you don't know, if you're a basketball fan, you're gonna know if you don't know. Some people don't. Uh the Warriors had to let them go. Right? Because they're over the cap.

SPEAKER_02

Because they're over the cap, right? Right, by two mil. Which is also the second tier.

SPEAKER_05

Correct. It's not even the first tier, it's tier two. Yeah. Yeah. So they're over the cap by two million. So his two million dollar salary.

SPEAKER_02

But there's I hang on.

SPEAKER_05

Seth, it's 53 million. It's staff. Hmm, okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know what I don't know what his is. But regardless, it's uh what I did see was that, and I don't know how this works. Uh, I'd have to go back and look at it, but apparently, like in the next month or whatever, by November, they're gonna be able to sign.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, because they're gonna clear space somehow, and he said he's gonna get back. So he's not gone. So I don't know how that's space. It's called waved. They waved him. Yeah, yeah. No, they waved, they waved him.

SPEAKER_02

But I don't know how that, so that's what I don't understand.

SPEAKER_05

You'd have to read in, I didn't read into it either.

SPEAKER_02

Like how to clear that space without without letting go of somebody, it must have to do with some of the trades they've made somewhere along the way where certain money comes off the books. I don't know, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, probably. Probably the money comes off the books because okay, we finished paying for this guy, right?

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, that's what I don't know, right?

SPEAKER_05

So you know, well, it's like in the baseball, like when you know you trade somebody, but then the Yankees are still picking up your salary, and it's like, you know, do you know how much they don't like you? They're paying you to play against them.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, like some of these contracts are the guys get bought out by a team and then they can go sign for another team. And they're still getting money, and they're still, but they're still getting money from the initial team that cut that bought them out, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I thought Kevin Love that happened. Was it Kevin Love that happened too? It could be, it could be a lot of them. It does, yeah, it does. But uh yeah, so the Warriors, but that team's looking strong, bro. I almost want to put some money on to say they're gonna win the championship. We put it on now, we'll win big bucks at the end.

SPEAKER_02

It'll be interesting to see. Yeah, uh, what did I see the other day? It's gonna be so tight. I see. I think it was Halliburton that said because of it was uh what's his name? Hartenstein, uh whatever the guy's name is. It's uh Chet Holmgrim and Hartenstein. I can't remember who the other guy is. They're two bigs anyway. Oh, I don't know how to say his last name, but I know who he is. Uh uh Halliburton said he goes, I think you're gonna start to see you know more of that, right? Like these big guys that can big tall guys that can shoot that can, you know.

SPEAKER_05

You mean like Wemby?

SPEAKER_02

Like Wemby, like Durant, like you know, like Durant is probably the first one, right?

SPEAKER_05

Oh no, wait, Dirk Novisky would have been the first one, right? Uh wait, man. How tall was Larry Bird? He wasn't seven.

SPEAKER_02

Larry Bird was what, six, eight, six nine? Okay. Yeah, same as same around the same height as magic, same thing. Yeah, I'm thinking, kind of thing, right? Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Um but all right.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, but anyway, that's uh that's what they were saying. They're thinking that you're gonna start seeing teams go that way. So again, going back to the last day, like they're small, aren't they? Like us outside of Kaminga, who do they have? Draymond's Draymond's what, six, seven? You know, he's kind of right.

SPEAKER_05

That's a small team. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I never thought of that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Huh.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So anyway, it doesn't matter. Like, we'll see. They they've won with small ball before. That was the only way.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, because they moved the ball moves so well with those guys, right?

SPEAKER_02

Like, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I would love to see how how many kilometers Curry runs in a game. Probably two or three, right? That's you have any idea?

SPEAKER_02

No, God, no. No, but he's uh we'll get our tech guy to look it up and put it right here. The hardest part about guarding him is that he's he keeps moving, man.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I would just hold his jersey the whole game.

Music Losses And Pneumonia Scare

SPEAKER_02

The guy has crazy handles, but it's also he's also got crazy cardio running. Is that Golden State offense? We talked about this before. Like that one game where Clay scored whatever 60 points or whatever it was, 60 something points. Yeah, and he having dribbles nine dribbles in the whole game. Maybe nine. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe, and held the ball for like eight seconds.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's just it's crazy.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, crazy. Yeah, that's how good people are in the NBA.

SPEAKER_02

If you've never, if you've never seen the clip of that game, go watch it.

SPEAKER_05

It's crazy, it makes no sense. None. I watched it down.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, what?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, like doop, and sometimes just foot like yeah, curling off screen. Crazy. He was, man, he was in the zone that night. He was in the night, he was in the zone that night. Um, so uh our boy LeBron has got a signed card coming out in the package, but he's only for tops, the the the uh brand name tops and a list.

SPEAKER_02

I wonder what they paid him for that.

SPEAKER_05

That's what I was wondering, man. Because but here's my thing, you son of a bitch. If if he retires, because he's if people don't know, LeBron doesn't sign anything. Do you have anything uh LeBron signed? No, no, I mean that thing I bought you, I signed it myself.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but yeah, he doesn't sign anything. So for this for him to sign a card and that card be out there, that's gonna make giant money when some kid gets that card.

SPEAKER_02

Is it just one card?

SPEAKER_05

No, no, no, no. But you know how it works with the top signed cards, like there's one per 100,000 or something. Yeah, you know. So I'm thinking you better not retire.

SPEAKER_02

If it's his retirement year, then that's that if it's just like you know, if he's retiring next year, not this year, that's it.

SPEAKER_05

Cool, I'm cool with that. But if he goes on at the end of this year and doesn't say anything, I will hunt you down, LeBron.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because when Jordan retired, Jordan, Jordan said, if if we don't, you know, resign Phil, if we don't keep the team together, like I'm done. So then they didn't, and so he retired at the end of the year, right? But people knew that was coming. Correct. Unless, unless Chicago made a choice to to be like, ah, we're gonna change our mind, we're gonna bring them all back, right? And they didn't. They didn't. Uh Kobe when he retired, Karim when he retired, they let people know it was gonna be their last year.

SPEAKER_05

Because people want to see you for the last time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So I would think that LeBron wouldn't just at the end of the year be like, you know what, I'm done.

SPEAKER_05

Let's hope not, but he does such stupid shit sometimes. Yeah. Right? Read a book.

SPEAKER_02

You know what I mean? I know you get hung up on that one.

SPEAKER_05

It's always on that same place. What part of the book do you like? I like it all. Be more specific. You never read it. At least read the back, what's the back thing called? Like the summary, whatever. Yeah. Bro, take a picture of it, throw it through AI. Right? And it'll come up with a summary. Read that.

SPEAKER_02

No, you don't even need to just go online now and say, I don't want to read this book. Summarize it for me. Well, there you go. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I'm just saying he's probably got the best AI going. Sure, yeah. Probably not even him.

SPEAKER_02

He's not even, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

He's not even real anymore.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. Who's this guy?

SPEAKER_05

Ah, some clone. We got downstairs. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. All right. Well, that's interesting. Yeah, well, I thought so. Yeah. I thought so. Oh, and by the way, I will put uh uh we will put that up here if we can find that. I don't know if it's gonna be found, but we'll put it up here if we can find it, okay?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I didn't hear about it, so yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It was a small little thing I read a couple days ago today.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's what yeah. He's you know, if he's starting to do some weird things, then maybe he is.

SPEAKER_05

Well, hang on, not just okay, hang on. So that we're gonna let's go this route for a minute. So we're just talking off camera about uh AI.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_05

If this is an AI thing, I'm gonna kill somebody. Like, I've had enough of this AI shit. I just told you like specific instances where I know they're wrong. Yep. It wasn't basketball, it was other things about uh stuff. But I'm just like, what's going on? Like, there's no reason for you to make this wrong or say wrong information unless you're just an idiot. So there's way more idiots than I thought making shit online about lies.

SPEAKER_02

They were talking about something the other day. Fuck, I'd have to go back and see if I can find it or what the percentage is.

SPEAKER_05

Like just in general for bullshit?

SPEAKER_02

For like so for like articles, like news articles or whatever. Even those now, it's more than 50% of them are being written by AI.

SPEAKER_04

Really?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So it's not even being written by like a journalist anymore. That's how that's how crazy it's getting, right? So anyway, I'd have to go look and see. Because again, this was on the I was listening to it on the radio on the drive-in. I was like, I gotta go look that up, and I completely forgot a course. So it wouldn't be interesting.

SPEAKER_05

Too worried about people running to you when you're driving. Yeah, yeah. Right? Yeah, yeah. I'm just gonna hang tires out the windows like they do on the tugboats.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_05

A lot easier, right?

SPEAKER_02

Just drive, start driving a bumper car, you'll be fine.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so we're talking about driving. I gotta drop this in. So because you know I drive a distance to come here.

SPEAKER_01

Sure.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, bro. I'm coming off the highway to go into a ramp that basically you come right around and go the other way, right? Yeah, yeah. So you have to slow down. Yeah. So a highway, I'm doing a hundred, and then you know, you get to the ramp and the ramp says 60. Yeah, so I slow down to 60. The fucking asshole behind me is leaning on his horn.

SPEAKER_02

Really?

SPEAKER_05

On the ramp as I'm slowing down to take the turn.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, what an idiot.

Warriors Cap Crunch And Big-Man Era

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and I and I'm like, and it goes by me and he's like, fuck you. And I'm like, fuck you.

SPEAKER_02

For what?

SPEAKER_05

For what? For me slowing down?

SPEAKER_02

Well, again, it goes back to what we talked about.

SPEAKER_05

I'm wondering if the asshole thought I was I was brake checking him. I wasn't doing that. I was just slowing down the tape to turn it.

SPEAKER_02

But even so, like, get off his ass, then. Like, don't giant truck, by the way. Oh, it's always yeah, yeah. I shouldn't say it always is.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's not, but yeah, I'm like, what I've had it happen.

SPEAKER_02

I told you, I have it happen all the time. Like get right up on your bumper there, like, but I've never had anybody honk at me, especially if I'm doing the actual speed limit.

SPEAKER_05

Like, well, I'm and I'm I'm it's a serious fucking turn.

SPEAKER_02

So the only thing is, yeah, he must have thought you were brake checking him or something, and that's why he's Oh, just unreal.

SPEAKER_05

But here's the other thing, too. So, you know, when he gets around, woo! Like I'm like, you're just an asshole, right? So, whatever. You know, that's okay. Anyway, so driving they're idiots. Everybody I talk to. Yeah, um, okay, back to back.

SPEAKER_02

Only everybody could be as good on the road as we are.

SPEAKER_05

It's not me. I'm very cautious. I really am, you know. And that car pretty much drives itself anyway. I just I don't like it really. Like I'll turn to turn, I'm like, okay, go. Yeah. Turns itself. I'm like, all right.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Let's sit in the back. Oh, you know what that reminds me of? The anchor man. Do you remember that scene when they're in the RV and they're all in the back talking? And he says, says to Ron Burgundy, who's driving? It's okay, it's on cruise control. Oh, yeah. And he's like, What? You know, he had the dog.

SPEAKER_02

I kind of, yeah, I don't, I don't quite remember the scene, but I think it's a good thing.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, that was funny.

SPEAKER_02

Steve Carrell, killer.

SPEAKER_05

Uh okay. Our boy Westbrook, seven, how many 17 seasons probably? 17? It's got to be close to that, right?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. Yeah, maybe even more. I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

Anyway, he was a free agent, but hey, Sacramento picked him up for the league minimum, 3.63 mil. Veteran minimum. Veteran minimum. Let me recreate correct that. Veteran minimum. Uh, but contracts not guaranteed.

SPEAKER_02

No, and it just poor, you know. I saw, was it Melo was talking about him the other day and said, you know, he's one of the best point guards ever to play the game. And uh, yeah, like nobody's nobody wants him.

SPEAKER_05

I'll do one better. I saw a five-minute video with Pat Beverly saying how good Westbrook is. And he goes, This is Pat Beverly. Yeah, yeah, right.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Pat Beverly. Nobody's better than Pat Beverly. Yep.

SPEAKER_05

But Pat Beverly said, Sandy, he goes, This man was an MVP, he's an all-star, and nobody wants this guy. I said, Are you kidding me? He is so athletic at his age, and Patley. And he goes, If you don't like how he talks and he's passionate, fuck you. He says, Because the man's passionate, and that's all it comes down to. He's not an asshole. Okay, well, we don't know for sure, but at the same time, he deserves to be on a team. He deserves to be on a team.

SPEAKER_02

He's obviously not, well, I want to say he's obviously not ring chasing.

SPEAKER_05

Uh well, and here's the other thing: the boy's always in shape. He's always he never comes in fat, he never comes under shape, and he gives his 100% 24-7 when he's on the floor. Yeah, right. You can't say that about a lot of guys.

SPEAKER_02

He does. We've talked about it before. His game, unfortunately, his game was built on athleticism, and right, you know, as that athleticism wanes even just a little bit, it's I'm gonna say the same thing, though.

SPEAKER_05

Could you work in your layups, man? You know, it's um it's the backboard's fault, I know. It's that one speed, that's his problem. Because you watch it, because you can call it from half court. Yeah, he's never he hasn't changed how he's he hasn't figured out how to, yeah, like let the ball go.

SPEAKER_02

Well, maybe it's maybe it's not that he's he just doesn't want to change how he plays. Like, this is just how he plays, and this is how he's gonna play.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, he is a savage, so I'd rather I'd love to have him on my team. Yeah, you know, you don't want to play against those guys because he can get streaky too, right?

SPEAKER_02

But you know, like you figure, you know, you're getting up there in age, you start to adjust your game a little bit. Like, even you know, like talking going back to LeBron, like you know, you you'll LeBron's not playing above the rim as much, obviously. He's not playing above the rim as much, but like he developed you know, he worked when he you know went to the finals against San Antonio, they fucking backed off him the whole time. You know, where you know, listen to Steve Kerr say that first year that they played them in when he was in Cleveland and they played them in the finals. He said, We didn't care about a shot, we weren't worried about a shot by the third year or the fourth year that they were playing him. He had to respect his shot, right? Like, you know, nobody respects Westbrook is like you said, 17 years in, and they fucking like pack the paint and let him shoot creeps, right?

SPEAKER_05

Right, like nobody's even near you, yeah. Like and they just go go, like clang, yeah, damn it. But the problem is he can string together a few, too, then you're in trouble. Well, yeah, so they play the percentage, right? Play the percentage, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, you know, so and listen, I'm gonna go back to Wimby again. Every time I watch, like, I'm just there's good luck. Yeah, there's nothing you can do, yeah. Not even as a person trying to go to the basket because he just goes, No, I'm good.

SPEAKER_02

As long as he stays as long as he can stay healthy, put some more weight on, bro.

SPEAKER_05

Put some more weight on. You gotta get a little heavier. You're still a stick man. But yeah, I mean, it's he can block everything in anything.

SPEAKER_02

Durant never put a weight on, and he's I know, but he ain't Wimby though.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, right? He's not Wimby, yeah. But uh that's just this kid is gonna be a superstar if he stays healthy. It's just yeah, I wouldn't want to play against him because the last one I saw, you know, the guy goes in, he's step back, just boom, like his arm is eight feet long. You know, you think you're shooting over is not happening. I can't wait till Chris Paul tries to do that. Because all those guys do Kyrie, everybody tries to shoot over.

SPEAKER_02

There's still that one clip which is like Steph stoots this high arc and three over him, gets it over his hand.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, he got it over? Still swish, of course. Yeah, but it must be so hard to shoot over that stuff. He's so big, it's crazy. Giant hands on him, too. Yeah, oh, oh, oh. I saw Kawhi Leonard says, I'm a hundred percent healthy. He said it himself. Okay, I didn't say it. He said, I'm a hundred percent healthy, this is my year. Get the hell out of you. What? Uh it wasn't AI, I'm pretty sure. No, but he did say to a come out and he's like, I'm ready to go. I saw it. Right? It's only been how many seasons, man? I know.

SPEAKER_02

Like, what are you now? 75? Like I saw the other day they beat Golden State. I think Steph did play. It was a preseason, mind you. Uh like yeah, um Paul didn't play, Leonard didn't play, uh Harden didn't play, and and and the Clippers still beat them. So the Clippers, the Clippers can be dangerous this year if they're if they stay healthy, man. We've talked about this before. The Clippers can be dangerous, you know. I um I don't know if I'm as sold on Golden State as you are. I think Golden State will be.

SPEAKER_05

Well, now that you mention how short they are, probably not.

Small Ball, Curry Cardio, And Klay’s Nine Dribbles

SPEAKER_02

Golden State will still be up there. They'll still be up there. They'll be in the playoffs. Like, same with the Lakers. Like, I don't think the Lakers have a championship team, but seventh, or eighth again. Golden State will be middle of the pack, I think, in the West. And you'll have the Thunder. If the Clippers stay healthy, the Clippers. You'll have uh Houston. Uh yeah, Houston could be, yeah. And then uh you know, they put better pieces around Denver this year. So Denver will be.

SPEAKER_05

Denver looks good. Yep. That's a that's a problem. And Dallas looks good too, actually. And Dallas can be Dallas can be good, yeah. Yeah, Verving comes back. I mean, you get three superstars, right? So get healthy, Irving. Take your stem cells, sleep in that hyperbaric chamber. Let's get it going, buddy. Uh, speaking of somebody who's screwed royally, life is screwed. This guy, Matt McClung. If you don't know who Matt McClung is, he's uh who is he again? Yeah, sorry, Matty.

SPEAKER_02

Uh he's that won the dunk competition.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, the white guy that won the dunk competition for three years in a row that didn't even play in the league and they had to bring in because that's how bad the dunk competition's been these days. And then the white guy wins it, and other bones, what's going on, man? But that kid can jump out of the gym.

SPEAKER_02

Not just jump out of the gym, man. He's like so creative with his dunks.

SPEAKER_05

He is fantastic, but dunks don't get you on a contract. No, and in saying that, the the bulls, what's the bulls? The bulls picked him up for three hours. Poor bats. Poor guy, man. Like, come on, man. Yeah, he's just like we were saying, he's he's basically a defensive liability, right?

SPEAKER_02

I would assume so, yeah. Maybe he's one overly tall guy, right? Like, yeah, but I think but when he's in the G League, he's you know, he looks real good in the G League. Yeah, man. So you can just tell like the the the the NBA, the league is just that much better, right?

SPEAKER_05

And what is he, six feet?

SPEAKER_02

I have no idea.

SPEAKER_05

If that's six feet, I mean you know, I guess the league's going, no, we're all good for six foot white guys that can't defend.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you know, and nothing. Has he ever even dunked in a game? Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, okay. That's what's saying.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he played for the Lakers uh a few years back. Like they picked him up. He played, oh yeah, what? Oh yeah, he played.

SPEAKER_05

Where was I on that one?

SPEAKER_02

I think it was one of the years LeBron was there.

SPEAKER_05

I better be I might have been in a coma for that.

SPEAKER_02

I guess LeBron's been with the Lakers for a while now, so yeah.

SPEAKER_05

All right, well, poor man.

SPEAKER_02

Anyway, yes, poor I that that sucks. Like, hey man, we're gonna give you your chance. Uh actually, we lied. Three hours later, you're you're gone again.

SPEAKER_05

That's basically the practice, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

At the beginning of the practice, you're gonna get signed. Yeah, well, not even. Yeah, you're gonna get signed at the end of the practice, like, take your shoes and get it.

SPEAKER_02

Hope he didn't buy a house. While he's in the air, maybe he's like they changed their minds.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, they changed their mind. They went, who's met this a white white guy? Yeah, tell the plane turn around. Anyway, I don't know. I mean, can he keep playing in the G League and D League for the rest of his career?

SPEAKER_02

I think so.

SPEAKER_05

What do they make down there?

SPEAKER_02

I have no idea.

SPEAKER_05

What's he making?

SPEAKER_02

No idea.

SPEAKER_05

100 grand, maybe no idea. Yeah, who knows? But maybe enough to live and you're playing and having fun. Yeah. Maybe that's all you want to do until you're 55. And then, oh, there's probably a patch in here.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's never, I don't think he's well, maybe maybe he has. I don't know. Gone overseas, right? There's overseas leagues as well where you can still make okay money and yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, Dwight Howard went over there.

SPEAKER_02

It was in basketball, right? In some of the places for sure.

SPEAKER_05

100%. Um okay, so we're we're gonna come back to home a little bit. Blue Jays, Go Jays. Go Jays. Well, sort of. Yeah. So I I watched, sorry, I didn't watch, I read, listened, to uh where they were Slag and the manager. Now I don't even know the name of the manager because I don't need to know, but whatever his name is, okay. They slag and manager, oh, it's a manager's fault. And I said, wait, hang on, I'm pissed off. So when a manager puts in a player, what's the job of the player, Mike?

unknown

Depends on what they're doing.

SPEAKER_05

To do their job, right? Yeah, to do your job. You're talking about pictures, yeah. You're gonna blame the manager for putting in somebody if that they get paid to do what they're supposed to do, but they didn't do it. That's not the manager's fault. That's the player's fault because the player didn't step up.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So stop saying that the manager made mistakes. Uh-uh. He made a decision. He bet on his players.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

With me on this, Muppets? He bet on his players that they would do their job and he lost.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Because they didn't do their job.

SPEAKER_02

Well, it's uh I think like we talked about that one thing I just read about the Jays going into this. Again, I don't follow baseball. Oh, yeah, right. Right. So if anybody else is watching this that follows this, feel free to jump in. Yeah, we don't know a lot.

SPEAKER_05

We just know what we read.

LeBron Autographs, Retirement Talk, And AI Rant

SPEAKER_02

But they anyway, Jays, it said the Jays had a shaky bullpen. And that was the biggest kind of question mark for them going into the playoffs was how will their uh bullpen perform? Bullpen perform. Obviously, when they've been winning, they've been scoring a crazy amount of uh you know uh runs or whatever, right? So it's whatever.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, I'm not gonna get deep into it, but simply put, you don't want your starter to go through their starters a third time. No. Okay, you usually don't want that because they're usually on to you by then. They're picking up your pace, they're picking up the ball better. So you don't want that. So that's why you bring in a reliever and then a finisher, and oops, it just so happens it didn't work out. That's what baseball is. If you've talked to any pitcher ever, if you haven't, then shut up. So if you talk to a pitcher, they will tell you, let's say they get 30 starts. Yeah, they go, 10 are gonna be close, 10 are gonna be good, and 10 are gonna be shit. Yeah, they're gonna tell you that straight up, right? That's how it works. Sure. You can't be per. Now listen, what's harder than baseball? If you if you hit 250 out of a thousand, you're a superstar.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Huh? Think about any other sport, right? Yeah, yeah. Impossible. So baseball is very difficult.

SPEAKER_02

Imagine if you shot 25% playing basketball, you wouldn't be on the court.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, you'd be Matt McClung.

SPEAKER_02

You'd be Wussell Wussel. Wussell Westbrook.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's true, right? But think about it like 300, you're a hero. Yeah. You you you bet that's three out of 10. Yeah. Which is crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Which by the way, what Otani did the other night.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, bananas. This guy's an alien, clearly. Yeah. Uh hey, Trump, leave him alone. Not that kind of alien, right?

SPEAKER_02

What'd they say? First, first player ever to be, you know, uh multiple games of 10 strikeouts and three plus home, multiple home runs, at least three plus home runs. First guy.

SPEAKER_05

Went to bat three times, hit three home runs.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and struck out, you know, pitched innings did he pitch?

SPEAKER_05

I don't know, but he got 10 strikeouts. I don't care how many innings he pitched. So good on him. He basically beat them single-handedly. Yeah, pretty close. Right. Yeah, this guy's a freak. He's a big dude.

SPEAKER_02

I think they won like 5-1 or something with the five. Oh, and he said he hit three home runs.

SPEAKER_05

But here's my thing. If you watch all the home runs and you watch the box, they're almost right down the middle. You might have been able to hit some of those out. Right? Like if you want, if you're a pitcher and you miss, you're in trouble. Because these hitters are so good. But they're missing like, oops, like, you know, it's like a batting machine throwing it down the center of the plate. These guys are gonna jump all over that and hit it 480 feet.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but that's coming in at like 100 miles per hour.

SPEAKER_05

It is, but remember how good these guys are, right?

SPEAKER_02

You know, top of the top, really good eyeballs. That's what I was watching. Like he stepped in, and I think his first his first fastball was like over a hundred or whatever, and they're like, okay, because they're wondering. He hasn't pitched in a little while. How's he gonna pitch in this game?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, triple digits.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, crazy.

SPEAKER_05

And the guys are like, okay, throw uh uh what?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Because you can watch all the tape you want till that ball. Well, you know what else happened though? Uh Springer took a 93 mile an hour fastball off his knee, bro. Jesus, man. Yeah, one of the best players, right? So he was out for a little bit, so it's not an issue. Yeah, but uh come on, Jace. Uh today uh game six. Game six tonight. Tonight is Sunday, isn't it?

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, game six tonight. So we need that win, and then it's loser go home.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Next game, right?

SPEAKER_02

So it's well, it's essentially loser go home. Well, loser go home now.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, sorry, basically. Yeah, same idea, right? So but uh let's hope so. But you know, here's my thing though. I'm not a Mariners fan, but since the Mariners, I'm just a nice person, since the Mariners have never been to the World Series. Oh, yeah. I'd be like, well, you know, maybe, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe they should go.

SPEAKER_02

Did the Dodgers the Dodgers win last year too?

SPEAKER_05

Uh I think the year before. But yeah, the Dodgers have been right in there the last couple of years. That team is crazy good. But uh yeah, so I'm kind of like, you know, yeah, the Blue Jays win, yay, go Jays, go Canada. But you know, if the Mariners win, I'm like, okay, go Mariners, because you've never been in the World Series, and let's see what you got, man. Maybe this is your year, and you're gonna play one of the best teams in baseball, so we're gonna find out, regardless who goes, because that Dodgers team is a problem. Yeah, they just what's a problem. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and they made it look easy. So, but uh, you know, go Jays. So I got I got another rant now, Mike.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

The Canadian men's soccer team. Now I remember last time we talked about them, they played uh, who was it? Romania, and Romania like didn't play their top players, they played like the towel boy and the water boy, Canada wanted to be one of the ladies that works in the kitchen. And you said like, yeah, it was all over those this morning. Yeah, and they're like, Oh, Canada looks so good. Yeah, yeah. Here's how good they are. They just dropped a 28th in the world, and you know who passed the mic? Ukraine.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so here's my problem, bro.

SPEAKER_04

So now you can't, you cane, cocaine, I came, everybody came. Jesus.

SPEAKER_05

I gotta get this straight, so I want to say it right. I wanna don't want to offend anybody. Fuck you, Trudeau, it's your fault. So here we go. So basically, we sent 50 some billion dollars to Ukraine, and clearly they use it all on their soccer team. So now the Ukraine soccer team is better than the Canadian soccer. How is that even possible? All right, so we're gonna need some of that money back. Yeah, uh, we don't need it, we're good, but we're gonna need some of that money back so we can go get some better players or get them steroids or something for the Canadian team.

SPEAKER_02

Well, obviously, the men's uh soccer uh is not uh not doing its job, minor soccer, whatever, bringing these young men up through the through the ranks, right? Because the women are topics.

SPEAKER_05

The women are crazy, crazy good, crazy good.

SPEAKER_02

But same with the same with the rugby, the women's rugby is like yeah, crazy good. Yeah, crazy good. I don't think the men are.

SPEAKER_05

We'll be just watching some of those videos with that crazy savage from uh New Zealand, Portia. Yeah, Porsche. This woman is brute. I would not want to play against her. Oh god, no. Yeah. No thanks. Yeah, I think anyway. All right. So this is speaking of don't want to play against, this is out of the blue. So I was just watching golf. Don't ask why. I was just watching and it was women's golf. I like watching golf. I do too, but I but I have other things I should be doing other than watching women's golf. So I'm watching women's golf. And I'm like, number. So the first place lady, Korean, of course, second Korean, third Korean, fourth Korean, right? But minus 22, minus 23.

SPEAKER_02

Jesus.

SPEAKER_05

And I'm like, okay. So here's where we're going. This is going to get nasty now. So here's where this is going. All the people that are against the trans movement, which is not us, uh, you can, we can, we will say be whoever you want to be, but here's the thing men can't play in women's sports. And if you look at golf, even what do you know about golf and men's and women's, Mike? What's what's the difference?

SPEAKER_02

Are you talking about the T boxes?

SPEAKER_05

Yes, sir. Okay. So right away I'm thinking, well, women can hit pretty good because these women are really good. You can probably outdrive me. Certainly outdrive any anybody I know. Yeah. But my point is that do you really need to be minus 30? Just move the T back and hit off the guy's T and be like minus five as the winner. Because like the top six are like minus 23, minus 22, minus 21, minus 20, minus dip, dip, dip, dip. Like, huh? Yeah, so it's like multiple days of being. Yeah, and the 75th person in that tournament is like plus two.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

Bad Driving, Cruise Control Chaos, And Road Rage

SPEAKER_05

So I'm like, I think it's time we move move the sticks. But my point to the whole thing is, you know, say, oh, men and women are the same. Well, then how come the T's are different in golf? Right? How come there's men's and women's sports in everything? How come there's men's and women's Olympics? Oh, we'll google this one and I'll let this one go. I'm mad at this shit, man, because I'm tired of people saying men and women are the same. No, men and men aren't even the same, right? Do we look like Brian Shaw or LeBron James or Wimby? We're men, kinda, according to them, right? They sure. So, you know, they'll go, oh, they're all the same, but they're not. Because the top sprinter in the world, the fastest Olympi Olympian that can run the hundred meters. Last year, Mike, 315-year-olds ran faster. Boys. Men are built different. So stop this bullshit about men should be in women's sports. They should not be. They should not be in the locker room. Yell at me if you want. I don't care. Like I said, we don't care if you want to be trans. We're cool with that. Be who you need to be to feel good. We get it. But you can't go play. How come it never goes the other way, Mike? How come they never want to be in, you know, go play in the men's league?

SPEAKER_02

Well, they may want to.

SPEAKER_05

It's not going to turn out well. Yeah. Right. Yeah. So the whole thing is it's like, stop the stupidity, people. Like, you know, you talk about all this. Look at all the sports and look the difference between the two. Oh, the other one, uh, Serena Williams. And the reporter asked her, Oh, would you ever want to play in the men's? She goes, No, why would I do that? It's a totally different game. She goes, I would lose 60, 6.0 in 15 minutes. And that is the best women's tennis player for the longest time in the history of the game.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And a big girl with a lot of muscle. Okay. So please stop the stupidity about women in men's sports. Well, what was Title Nine all about then? You know, fairness in women's sports. And then this happened. So stop it. I hate it. But once again, be who you want to be, but just don't be it in the women's hurting women and taking money and all. I could go on for this for hours.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, I know. You've done it before. Right?

SPEAKER_05

Because I'm I'm I don't think it's fair, man. Yeah. You know, it's a sport. The women need to have their own thing. Like, geez.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Deep breaths, eh?

SPEAKER_05

So uh if you don't know where we're from, by the way, we're uh in Halifax. We didn't mention that again today, but uh it's been pretty nice, really. 10, 12 degrees, 15 degrees, not too bad, right?

SPEAKER_02

Like I don't really know, but this is yeah, this is this is we're right now we're at like what our ready to do this. I mean, one of the things that they've uh they said uh because it's been so dry all summer that the they weren't gonna the the trees weren't gonna have the energy for the colors to be really vibrant, so they were expecting them to be really dull. It's the opposite this year. It's crazy how vibrant the colors are.

SPEAKER_05

Well, see, I didn't know the difference, but I would say also, wow, it's beautiful everywhere you go. Like it's really popping. So yeah, we've been talking about it's opposite.

SPEAKER_02

It's the opposite.

SPEAKER_05

It's it's a so these tree people don't know what the hell a tree even is made out of. What's wrong with you?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

You never seen Avatar?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I get where they're coming from, right? Like there's just been no moisture, whatever. None, it's crazy, man. Um but anyway, the trees, it's it's yeah, it's a beautiful time to come visit uh Atlantic, Canada, north anywhere, and not just here, I guess. Like in the north right now, right?

SPEAKER_05

Like everything's in full full autumn colors right now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, it's beautiful, right?

SPEAKER_05

It's unreal. You forget all about it. Yeah, but man, there's a lot of leaves down.

SPEAKER_02

There's a lot of leaves down.

SPEAKER_05

That's a lot of leaves down, yeah. Quite a few.

Westbrook’s Future And Aging Superstars

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, I went to book the car in to get the winter tires on. It's uh a little over a month before I before I can get in. That's how far out they're booking for getting your winter tires on.

SPEAKER_05

So a month takes you to November, mid-November.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's yeah, it's it's over. I'm so I better get on that. I can't remember what it is, the 27th of November.

SPEAKER_05

You go to Honda for that?

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_05

My guys didn't call me back.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no? Yeah, because I said I want tires and I want to he's yeah, yeah, because if you got to order the tires tires into, you should be kind of checking to see if there's any rebate programs or any sales on right now.

SPEAKER_05

Oh god, yeah. What tire? This car is already a problem. Tires, remember they'd come from Montreal.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I don't imagine a snow tires. Well, they might.

SPEAKER_02

They might, yeah. If I was I'd look into it and see if you have to order in the tires as well. Because last time they didn't. I'd put the order in now instead of waiting.

SPEAKER_05

Well, that's why I got a hold of the guy two weeks ago.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

He goes, Oh, let me check on it. Nothing.

SPEAKER_02

Nothing, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Nothing. They already sold me the car.

SPEAKER_02

That's definitely different, like with anything, right? With uh, you know, we try to get some contractors out to do a few things around the house, and and it's amazing how many like phone calls and emails I make before I even get a response back now. Or before it used to be. You think people are that busy or they're lazy? No, I think everybody's that busy.

SPEAKER_05

Busy is better, thank you.

SPEAKER_02

I'd rather see the busyness, yeah. Yeah, I think everybody's that busy that it's just that's you know, they're not even calling back because it's like it doesn't matter. They've got so much business, they got so much work. It's not you know, before it was like I need the money.

SPEAKER_05

And they're probably picking and choosing, right? So, you know, they're like, Oh, it's too far to drive, it's not a few years.

SPEAKER_02

What they're asking me to do is not worth my time. I can do this one here that's gonna be like you know, a two-week program, and it's gonna be, you know, thirty thousand dollars, or I can do this one to go for an hour, a couple hours to guide some guy's house and be a few hundred dollars, right?

SPEAKER_05

Like Yeah, that's a thing, right? Yeah, oh I wasn't telling you, I'm not gonna say where on camera, but uh I met these two people, their husband and wife now. Uh their boyfriend, girlfriend.

SPEAKER_02

Swingers club then.

SPEAKER_05

Shut up. It's a key party again. Yeah, it was all man. I don't know why.

SPEAKER_02

That's a weird one. Yeah, that's a weird one.

SPEAKER_05

Anyway, uh, once again, not against gay people, do what you gotta do. Sure.

SPEAKER_02

But uh do what you gotta do.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, well, I don't know what they do. Um I haven't seen any videos recently. So uh shut up, man. Anyway. Not really, because I'm just thinking how anyway. I haven't seen these people since grade 10. And I just saw them recently. They were they were together in grade 10. Sure, okay. Yeah, and now they're still together. Okay, and uh uh the sad part is is uh this the guy's sick. Oh yeah, he's got like a lot of blockage, they call it the widow maker something, something's going on with the heart. So uh the business he's in, he's gonna retire early. Okay, and uh so where this is going is I told them I'm back and they go, Oh my god, you you know, I told them about mom and they're like, Oh, okay. And then they're like, hey, there's a house for sale down by you. Like, what? They go, Yeah, you know, everybody's looking for a good price. This one's a good price. It's 500 grand. I said, Well, that's a good price.

SPEAKER_04

Sure.

SPEAKER_05

And they go, Hey, it's so and so. So, oh my god, we went to school with them. They're like, Well, you know, that's what we're telling you. Like, oh, I said, I know exactly where that is. I said, Oh, wait a minute, though. I said, Well, that house is it something's going on behind there. I said, Is there a highway going? They go, well, they cleared it all because I know where it is. It's like it used to be forced, it's cleared.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

What's going behind there now? It's like a bunch of nursing homes, apparently.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Which is a good thing because we need those too in abundance, right? Yeah, but I'm like, okay, so anyway, so I drove by the other day. There's no sign. So it must be like an advance notice that they're gonna put it up. And and that these two people tell me, hey, the house has just been redone.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_05

There's an in-law suite in the bottom you could rent out or something. I'd say, Wow, okay, but there's no sign on the thing, but you know, it is what it is. So it's just a big it's like this house, same, same, but not as big. This house is way bigger, right? But yeah, yeah. So uh too bad, but uh, you know, it is what it is. I'm sure that house will go for giant money. Right, because of where it is.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But 500 grand, that's uh that's how much it should cost. That's my thing. That's what that house should cost, right? Okay, right. That's why they were like, yeah, this is a great deal. I'm like, okay.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So here's another thing. So uh I went and got a pizza yesterday, uh, down where I am. So I as I was driving, I'm looking at all these uh places that are for sale.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_05

But now I'm seeing something different on these signs. You know what I'm seeing? No, new price.

SPEAKER_01

Like reduced price?

SPEAKER_05

Well, it has to be. Yeah, it can't be up. So I'm seeing all these signs that they're not selling now. It's like prices can't be up. Reduced price. So these people are probably thinking it was the prices two years ago. Yeah. And now things are starting to come down, everybody. Yeah, right. So they can't sell from what they're worth before. Some of these houses are on the water, too, by the way.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay. Yeah, no, I see some that'll go up, then they'll take them back off the market. They'll do, you know, because they go obviously they they open it and it's not selling, so people must be giving some feedback and then they take it off the market, they do some work to it, but then it goes back up, and then sometimes it's uh, you know, they might put it back up for the same price, maybe a little bit more because they just did like you know, put in a new kitchen or something.

SPEAKER_05

It doesn't matter though, yeah. Right, so yeah, you know, so but I'm I'm I'm hoping that the prices come down enough that people can afford to buy a house again. Yeah, you know, because there's a lot of people that would not want to live in an apartment.

SPEAKER_02

No, see when we bought this house here, it'd been on the market for a little while, and the price had dropped three separate times before we even like. You guys got a smoking deal, right? So yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So but that's a good house.

SPEAKER_02

We like it.

SPEAKER_05

Probably because it had the pool, right? People didn't want to deal with the pool.

SPEAKER_02

The pool was a pain, yeah. That came out pretty quick. Uh there was yeah, there's there's been a few things like the uh Sasquatch in the back, yeah. Well, the back the back wall underneath the the back wall was all rotten because they didn't put the deck in properly with proper flashing. Yeah, yeah. The chimney, the the bricks were just falling out, like so it had to we had to replace it. Yeah, yeah. I didn't know that. When they when we put the new chimney up and they were taking the old brick one down, they were just able to without even having to they were taking the bricks right off the mortar with anyway.

SPEAKER_05

A good wind would have taken that off.

SPEAKER_02

It was yeah, it was in bad, it was in bad shape. It was they just they just said, Oh, you're making the definitely making the right call here, like this need this chimney has to come down, right?

SPEAKER_05

So kid, but yeah, you know.

Wemby’s Ceiling And Clippers Health Watch

SPEAKER_02

But anyway, there was a few things that but overall it's a good house. We're happy with it.

SPEAKER_05

Oh yeah, nice piece of land, very quiet, quiet, except when the dogs are yapping next door when it's a good thing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so that's the you know, if there's obviously if there's a retirement village going up behind the the house that you're talking about, you know, it's you know not like they're gonna be partying all night long.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's the thing, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's the thing. Well, here's what's funny. So I've just been you know scouting around, always looking at different things and stuff. And I I saw like a retirement, I don't know, like a uh it's not a retirement home, but it's like a um a building that's you have to be over 50 to be in it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, right.

SPEAKER_05

So I'm thinking, well, then that's not bad for people because a lot of people that are over 50, a lot of close to retirement, and you want quiet, like you said, you you don't want the natives out partying, you know, 24-7 and driving up and down your driveway in four-wheelers, by the way. Yeah, but uh yeah, so they're like, oh yeah, we know we take animals. Well, of course you're gonna take an animal for an elderly person. Yeah, elderly, listen to me. But yeah, anyway, right, yeah. It's uh it's in um Clayton Park down the end of Willet Street, if you know where that is. I was I didn't go down, but I was looking it up. So that I think I do essence. Yeah, yeah. I'm like, where is that actually? It's gotta be up hidden away somewhere. But anyway, so you know, I'm just looking around.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I don't really want to live in an apartment, but if that's what it comes to for a while, then that's what it comes to. So that would find what I'm looking for, right?

SPEAKER_02

We went overseas and we were living, we were renting houses overseas the whole time. We were over there. Oh, I know I was back here and lived in lived in apartments for the first couple years when we were back. I just couldn't do it again, right? That's why I said, okay. We bought we bought late. We didn't, we never bought, you know, we were 40 years old when we bought our first home, right? So we didn't do it early on.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, well, at least you can afford it. Most people can't now.

SPEAKER_02

And now now it's you know, well, it's yeah, more than double what it was worth when we bought it, right?

SPEAKER_05

Well, okay, so uh I just got a thing that came in about the QE2 lottery, and it shows the house I'm gonna win, you know. Yeah, yeah. So it's nice.

SPEAKER_02

By the way, there's a woman I work with that she tells me she's gonna win the house.

SPEAKER_05

I said, Yeah, but you know what though, you gotta tell her that's just not gonna happen. That's what I did. I got it. Because I paid money, didn't you?

SPEAKER_02

I said my buddy told me he's apparently winning. Yeah, that's weird because I'm gonna win. I was like, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Well, she must have got the wrong tickets and if you win, woman, I'm gonna be anyway. So what I didn't know is that like they sent this extra piece and it says you get the house plus 25 grand. I'm like, oh, that's cool to cover property taxes, yeah. Yeah, and I'm like, holy shoo, yeah, how much of the property tax on that house? But it can't be 25 G's, right? Can it be? That seems bloody high, Mike.

SPEAKER_02

Uh so thinking about what ours is and what our house is worth.

SPEAKER_05

They don't say it out loud though, but yeah, uh there's 1.6 million.

SPEAKER_02

Wouldn't be 25, but that might be maybe just two years of property taxes, maybe for you.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, because I didn't even see that part about the 25,000 cash, and it says this will cover your property. I'm like, oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

For the first two years, maybe.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I was like, ooh, okay. But then you gotta remember you don't have a house payment.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Right? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So I mean, you'll have your home insurance, you'll have your you still have all your bills, yeah. Right? Like all that stuff's still gonna be there, but you're not gonna have the the home payment. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Well, you can tell the lady that I will never live in that house.

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's so that would be that would be sold instantly. Well, see, that's the thing. I think that if you do win, I think you can't sell for a year. That's what we were talking about.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, well, that's fine. I could live in it for a year.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so I think that's what the big thing is, is that you can't, you have to if you win it, you have to actually like take the you take the 25,000. You don't there's no cash equivalent. Like I think some of the other prizes it says you can win the car, you can take it.

SPEAKER_05

No, I don't want the cash, I'll sell it. Like, I'll just sell it straight up. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But I think you but I think there's like there's probably a caveat to that? There's probably a clause.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, regardless, when I win, it's listed for 1.6. I will give it to anybody for 1.3.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Straight up. You can have everything that's in it. I don't care. Oh, yeah. It comes with the furnished too, right? Yeah, I know, right? I might take a sofa. But other than that, because I already have a what I want to do, so sure, you know. Yeah, yeah. So yeah, so if you know, you can tell the lady she can buy it off me. All right, and I'll give her a deal, you know. For her 2.3.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know, this woman.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm pretty sure she won't go for that. No, that's the idea. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That's the idea. But yeah, so well, that's funny. She thinks she's gonna win too. I gotta have to make a phone call.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Make a phone call.

SPEAKER_02

I'm sure there's a few people out there that think they're gonna win that. Yeah, but good luck to y'all.

SPEAKER_05

Thinking and no one's different. I know.

SPEAKER_02

Now you're gonna will it into being, are you?

SPEAKER_05

I am.

SPEAKER_02

All right.

SPEAKER_05

Universe, tell me how good it gets to be.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, there we go, right?

Blue Jays Strategy, Otani’s Feats, And Playoff Stakes

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Anything else on the docket, Mike, you want to talk about today? We pretty much wrap it up. We've covered everything. I think this is good for today. All right, so next weekend's the big weekend for us. Why? Because NBA starts this week. That does. So you're gonna hear Mike turn purple and red and screaming about different things. Not this early in the year, man. No, I'm kidding, but we will be for sure. All right, so anyway, so uh here's something we don't know, by the way, and my tech guy can't know this yet either. We don't know how many um views we're getting on Spotify. Oh, yeah, for some reason. Um, we can see how many downloads we have, which is quite a few, which is astounding to me, but we can't see how many views there are, so we don't even know if you're liking, we don't know. Right. We got to look into this. We have to just uh get a hold of Spotify, which is in a different language, but anyway, so we'll figure that out. But uh once again, okay, so Lower Sackville's picking up. Okay, and I think that's where my uh buddy I was telling you about from the gym lives. So thanks to you, Mr. Fireman. You know who you are. Yeah, so yeah, tell all your buddies. We're just a bunch of two idiots. Uh Darkmouth is also doing well.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah, that was doing you said that before, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Doing well, and uh that's pretty much it. Those ones are going up a little bit, so we're catching on somewhere. Listen, we're just having fun, people. We're kind of bored, right? So this is all it is.

SPEAKER_02

If you'd be listen, we'd be doing this on a weekend regardless. Yeah, that's the thing. That's exactly right. Just wouldn't have the phone pointed at us.

SPEAKER_05

Right. And the idiots in the corner with the microphone and doing all those hand signals about this stuff, and don't say that and stop pointing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's right.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, anyway. All right, people. So once again, Bobby D and Mikey D. Yeah, I was waiting for you to say Uncle Frank on that one. Oh, I'm sorry, shut up, man. Buzzsproat, Spotify, uh, Apple. Oh, by the way, that's another one, too. The Apple, I can't get the numbers on that either, but we'll look into that for the what he says. Um, so oh, by the way, management has also told us to say the following please click the the what is it, the notification. Oh, notification, like please click the notification, subscribe, and the thumbs up. The button.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the thumbs up thing.

SPEAKER_05

The thumbs up, right? So okay. So once again, thumbs up. We'll see you next week. Peace.
