Two Hosts Try To Define Black Friday, Debate NBA Legends, And Survive Canadian Winter Driving
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
The hunt for a good deal shouldn’t feel like a month-long maze, but here we are. We open by wrestling Black Friday into something useful, then pivot to the future of car buying as Amazon starts listing authorized used Fords. Convenience meets reality when winter hits: service backlogs push tire swaps into January, the first dusting turns highways timid, and we trade notes on tread compounds, all-wheel drive myths, and why planning beat heroics every time.
From there we get delightfully sidetracked. A grizzly incident near North Vancouver becomes a quick primer on trail prep and wildlife policy. Then nostalgia calls: KISS memories, Gene Simmons’ merchandising masterclass, and a healthy skepticism for reality TV treasure hunts that stretch suspense thinner than a storage locker padlock. It’s a reminder to enjoy the show while keeping your BS meter on.
Basketball anchors the second half. Chris Paul hints at goodbye, Bronny navigates demotion, and the Lakers shake up their scouting tree while Harden drops 55 and Jokic quietly owns the decade’s leaderboards. We go deep on what defines greatness—stats, rings, longevity, or myth—landing on a nuanced split between “best” and “greatest.” We also push on accountability, from media narratives around LeBron to Ja Morant’s sideline chirps, before tackling today’s faster pace and the soft-tissue injuries that follow. Better tech meets a human limit, and training has to evolve with the game.
If you like smart detours with a side of laughs—deals, cars, snow tires, bears, KISS lore, and NBA hot-and-cold takes—this one’s for you. Hit play, subscribe, and tell us your pick for the greatest of all time and why. Your comments shape what we dig into next, so drop a take and share with a friend who loves hoops, bargains, or both.

What Even Is Black Friday
SPEAKER_00Hey everybody, welcome back to You Would Think with Bobby D and Mikey D. Never know with you, no? Black Friday. We're just looking at sales, so we're talking about what's Black Friday. Yeah. Well, it used to be just one day. Now we were saying it's like Black Friday month.
SPEAKER_01It's Black Friday month, yeah. So I don't even know anymore when the actual day is anymore. It's the whatever the day after American Thanksgiving, right?
SPEAKER_00We we yeah, we can't even get a proper definition of what Black Friday is. Uh there's a couple of things that people said police on that day feel it's so busy that it's black, it's a bad day. Other thing I saw in uh one article was uh that all year long the merchants are in the red. And because they sell so much on that day, right? They're in the black. I don't know. Yeah. All I know is we can get a sale on the TV.
Online Deals And Amazon’s Used Fords
SPEAKER_01You get a sale on lots of stuff, man. You see those videos.
SPEAKER_00Now, what I want to know is Black Friday better than Boxing Day for the Christmas crowd.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I have no idea.
SPEAKER_00No idea. Yeah. Do you ever go out on Boxing Day to buy anything?
SPEAKER_01You used to when you were young, happy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, not now, right? You have to fight people off, probably.
SPEAKER_01Uh, there's no to be honest with you, it's uh there's there's deals on there's deals on all the time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, especially online now, right? You can pretty much get anything at any time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, good old Amazon.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
Car Discounts Rumors And Sponsorship Jokes
SPEAKER_00Uh speaking of Amazon, they're now selling Ford pre-used authorized cars and trucks on Amazon. So there must have been a lot of paperwork involved, that I'm sure. Because you know, you don't want to buy a lemon, but obviously they're not, it's the same as if you went to a dealership and bought a Ford. Right? Oh, uh a buddy was telling me this. Interesting. And I was like, you're not gonna like this. I was mad. So I just found out that Hyundai, Canada, has a deal with a certain type of immigrant that came to Canada, the Indians, get a deal on Hyundai's if they go buy a Hyundai. And I'm like, hang on a minute. Like, I don't care if you're gonna deal, but I want a deal too. Like, how do you how do we get a deal? How can you you can't just give one race a deal, you know? Good for them. But hey, what about the rest of us?
SPEAKER_01I never heard that.
SPEAKER_00So well, I know this guy, I didn't either, and this guy's like, I said, Where'd you have? He goes, Oh, my buddy's the fucking head dude. No, okay. I'm like, what? He said, That's kept quiet. He goes, Oh yeah. I was like, Well, come on, Hyundai, if you're listening, that new Genesis, I'd like to have one of those. Yeah, yeah. That high-end vehicle, like we don't get somebody drives around that. Why not, right? Yeah, yeah. So Hyundai, hey, I'm all cool. We get Indian friends, you know, taught them for years. Yeah, great people, work real hard. But uh yeah, come on, hey, help the rest of us out, man. Yeah, yeah, pretty dirty, right?
SPEAKER_01It is well, if it's true, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Pretty quiet too, you know. Listen, I'm a Ford Mustang fan, so hey Mustang, if you're looking at, you know, fueling a little help, a little sponsor. Yeah. Put that car right here and we'll sit in it and do the podcast.
SPEAKER_01Maybe Ford will give you some sort of deal. Yeah.
Tire Appointments And Winter-Driving Anxiety
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Speaking of deals, I finally get in to get my tires done. January 6th.
unknownReally?
SPEAKER_01That's the date. Oh, Jesus, man.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, well, what's the point? I'll just go buy another car and drive in the winter and then put this like, yeah. So anyway, yeah, so what's gonna have to happen? Oh, oh, wait. It's not just for my tires. That's the only time they can get me in to do my first maintenance, the three-month maintenance, also.
SPEAKER_01It's that time of year, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I'm like, huh?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, literally January 6th.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I'm gonna have to go somewhere else to get my tires on. I'm gonna have to try to find somebody else.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's you know, there's all kinds of plays. Canadians. There is, I just don't know any, right?
SPEAKER_00But yeah, I mean, but you know, so and I just I was shocked.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that is crazy, man. It is.
SPEAKER_00I should have kind of known though, because you know, other people said, Oh, you gotta make an appointment.
SPEAKER_01You gotta do it early, yeah. It's like I I did it and uh it took me over a month before I could get in. I just had mine put on last week.
SPEAKER_00Well, this is over a month, then isn't it? Because I just booked it two days ago. Yeah, right. Yep. January 6th, I couldn't believe it. Yeah. So whatever. But yeah, crazy, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh yeah, yeah. If you're if you're booking this late, you're you're you're waiting at least a month. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I mean January, February, take them off in March.
SPEAKER_01Like Yeah, March, April.
SPEAKER_00So they're on for two months.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Can't take the chance though, right? No, God, no.
SPEAKER_01No, and especially those months, you need them on.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because if it snows once and you know you gotta drive anywhere, it's a little bit more.
SPEAKER_01I think they're saying, you know, not not much, but you know, a little bit of snow tomorrow night coming. Not a whole lot, not a whole lot, like probably like one to two centimeters or something. So it'll be it probably won't even stick to the roads yet. Um I hope not. It's it's coming, though. I thought I thought in the long range forecast there was one day where they're calling like for five centimeters of snow.
SPEAKER_00So No, I no, no.
SPEAKER_01No, we can't have that.
SPEAKER_00I do have an all-wheel drive.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and do you have all seasons on right now? Like it's not it's just a race curve. Oh yeah. So yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But but like I said, it's all wheel drive. Yeah, yeah. So if we get to the hand, all four wheels will put me in the ditch. Yeah, yeah. That's right. Yeah. Right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you'll see when the first storm comes through when half the people don't have their tires on the the the whole city comes to a standstill. It's crazy. Yeah, I'm concerned. Yeah. Because everybody you're going. Like the other day, there was the other day where there was like a little bit of dusting on the ground. It's nothing on the roads, but there's people going like 35, 40 up the roads, right? Like they because they would have had, you know, and if the summers are in bad shape, if they're, you know, almost done, or they're well, these mine are brand new. Yeah, still got the nubs on them. Yours are still brand new, so they're they're better.
SPEAKER_00So they're not driving it like it's a wild animal, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but yeah, I'm a little concerned.
SPEAKER_01I mean Winter driving. And I grew up in it. So all I did was driving. Oh, I've I've driven in the snow. But it's been years though.
SPEAKER_00Like, trust me, like it's been years, and I've never driven that car in the snow yet. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. So I don't know how it's gonna handle. Yeah. You know, it does have all the little thingies.
SPEAKER_01That first year back after not driving in the in the in the snow for for eight years or whatever it was. It's like it I was nervous, man. Yeah, man. Forgot, you know, maybe maybe I say forgot. Maybe it was that I wasn't as uh confident, I guess, maybe as I was before I left.
SPEAKER_00Well, I told you I was even concerned driving that in the rain for the first time because I wasn't used to that car in the rain either. So you know, sunshine, no problem.
First Snow, All‑Wheel Drive, And Road Caution
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Yeah, and like you were talking about, there's like all the grooves in the road where my car was all over the place, right? Yeah, cars all over the place. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Uh a grizzly bear?
SPEAKER_01Somebody walking a grizzly, yeah. Looks like it.
SPEAKER_00Did you see the thing about the grizzly bears in uh northwest Vancouver there?
SPEAKER_01Uh well, I saw I saw the headline. I don't know the story. I saw that it attacked.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was yeah, it was the teachers and uh the kids took them out on a hike out of the community there, and they had luckily they had like bear spray and something else. Right. I read that. But well, I wouldn't you if you're cool.
SPEAKER_01I think that like the headline or whatever was like I think one one of the teachers took the brunt of it, right? Like to protect the rest of them. Yeah, something like that. Something like that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But I I I saw that they said that the bear was already injured or something, which makes sense because they usually don't attack. No, they wouldn't attack. Usually not, unless you know the the cub's around or something.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's right. Or you get in between it and the kill or whatever.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, but I mean these areas too, like you know that these things are around. You gotta be prepared. Yeah, you know, I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_01Well, it sounds like they were prepared, it's just oh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but you know, yeah, it only doesn't take much for a giant bear to mangle you. No, man. Yeah, nobody died though, but some serious injuries. Nobody died, serious injuries.
SPEAKER_01I don't and I don't I last when I I don't know if they found the bear or not. Last I read that they were still looking for it.
SPEAKER_00So well, they're gonna have to euthanize it or whatever.
SPEAKER_01If it's attack humans and it's yeah, I mean it depends again, I guess, right? It's up in the trails, so it wasn't it was it wasn't like it came into a neighborhood and was like, No, but I don't know what they do with that.
SPEAKER_00You'd have to talk to the fishery and forestry department and see what they do.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You know, but oh well, luckily nobody died, but uh sometimes they might just uh tranquilize it and try to relocate it to a different area.
SPEAKER_00That'd be nice, yeah. Right? If he's injured, fix him first. It ain't yogi bear, but no, you know hey yogi, uh yeah, yeah, yeah. Ace Freely, if you're not a if you're not a KISS army or a KISS fan from back in the 70s, uh Ace Freely passed away, but not by the way you would think. He fell, hit his head, got a blood clot, ended in a stroke, and then he was in the hospital unresponsive, and they just pulled him off of anything.
Bear Attack Near Vancouver
SPEAKER_01Oh, so he okay, so it wasn't the stroke that made him fall. He actually fell.
SPEAKER_00No, yeah, he fell first and got the blood clot, and then gave him the stroke and put him on, yeah, like in a vegetated state. Yeah, horrible. 74. Yeah. But uh yeah, I mean, I I knew KISS. I well not personally, but yeah, yeah. You know, I had their albums, you know. Yeah. I'm sure maybe a lot of those uh uh KISS fans might have ended up.
SPEAKER_01What did they say they used to stand for? Knight and Knights and Satan's service or something like that. Remember, do you remember? Like KISS was it was very controversial because they were like devil worshippers, oh I don't remember that though. Yeah, yeah, like when it when KISS was, you know, because they came out with their faces all. Oh, yeah, they were crazy.
SPEAKER_00Jane Simmons was in his giant platform boots and stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And anyway, I think I think that you know, this is when they were saying like heavier rock was uh, you know, Satan worship and music and stuff like that. I'm pretty sure they said like that you know, people were saying, Oh, KISS stands for nights and Satan's service or something like that. Oh, yeah, there's all kinds of stuff. Wow, I was go back and watch the go back and look at some of the old uh stuff from the 80s and stuff like that. What they thought about you know, they went after the heavy metal first and then they went after rap afterwards and said how rap was take a shot at everybody.
SPEAKER_00Well, I did watch there was a show, I don't remember what it's called, but there was a show about Gene Simmons and his wife uh the model.
SPEAKER_01Um what's her name? Cheryl Ladd? No, is that it?
KISS Memories, Merch Empire, And TV Nostalgia
SPEAKER_00No, it's not Cheryl Tweed, but Shannon Tweed. Good, yeah, well done. Yeah, yeah. She was a supermodel, wasn't she? Or a teeny or something? I have no idea. Good-looking lady, but yeah, his son is huge, but yeah, she had they had a story, they had a show, yeah. Show called something. I don't know what it was called, but it was good. I watched it.
SPEAKER_01I don't know if it was before the Osborne's or after, I can't remember. I think it's before. Yeah, I think it's before.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but yeah. Uh son Nick, I think. Okay, and uh but what I was astounded was his office.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Gene's office. Like the amount of things that they had their face on was astronomical. He was a business guy, right? Doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, doesn't do drugs, so he just focused on that. But yeah, he was like showing frisbee and condoms. Yeah, yeah, right. Yes, bananas, the amount of things, right? Marketing, man. Yeah, yeah, man. Yeah, man. I watched that uh show one time, uh Pickers with uh Mike and Frank that Frank I passed away. Yeah, yeah, I know the one you're talking about. But uh Frank had bought like these life-size kiss dolls that you just can't find anywhere. Like they're in some guy's garage, yeah, and he's like a big kiss fan, and they were haggling back and forth, back and forth. And Mike kept going, Stop being so tight, you're never gonna see these anywhere. You gotta buy them. You know, like my dude. If you're in a barn in the middle of fucking Delaware on your on your show and you find like three kiss dolls that are like two and a half feet tall and you've never seen them before, buy them. Buy them, yeah, right? Like, come on, what are we doing?
SPEAKER_01Sure, yeah. So yeah, those shows were always interesting. Oh, I love that.
SPEAKER_00I always made you go back and go.
SPEAKER_01Well, you'd always look and see, oh, we had that growing up.
SPEAKER_00Wouldn't that be, you know, if it was we but we play with it, yeah, yeah. But if it was yeah, exactly. Yeah, you leave it in the box, yeah, right? Because that's the other thing. Like it has to be personal.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's crazy, eh? Like, what kid would buy something and be like, I'm never gonna open this, right?
SPEAKER_00You know what though? Watching those shows, I've seen numerous where there's a dude our age and he wants to sell some things off of downsize, and the wife says, You gotta get rid of the toy room.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And they go in and they go, Oh my god, we had these what we played for, played with it. And then the guy goes, My dad said, Leave it in the box, it's gonna be worth money. Yeah, yeah. And I listened to him, and sure enough, it's worth, you know, yeah, yeah. Oh my god, some of those shows, it blows my mind. Especially those rare ones, right? Like the the rare toys that didn't have a lot of uh well the the rare like I could do this now watching those shows because the rarest ones are these tin toys from like Japan and stuff. Oh yeah, they're worth a mint, man.
SPEAKER_01Crazy, man.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, crazy money. Like it's shocking how much. But yeah, those shows are great, the stuff they find.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's not like the uh what's the other one where you can you can buy a locker. Yeah, if somebody doesn't pay their rent and you can go buy the locker. I read numerous stories, there's shit planted in all planted. Yeah, too much stuff planted in that, right?
SPEAKER_01And then actually Well, you can't have a show if like you go to locker. Oh, I didn't find everything good, I suppose, right? Yeah. Once again, once again, it's like that.
SPEAKER_00Uh oh look, rakes and bags.
SPEAKER_01That's the one the curse of Oak Island is like that. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Are you fucking kidding me? That show's been on for 20 years. How do you have fun? Every once in a while they find a coin that somebody threw in the ditch. That's right. Yeah. And they're like, Are you kidding me? And all the money they keep saying, oh, I spend a million dollars this year. Like, what do you guys do for a living? I know, right? Those two. I think they own a winery or something.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. Still.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, still. Like, what? Yeah. Yeah, it's still on. I just saw it the other day. I didn't watch the show, but I said, oh, Garland?
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00Give them forever. Give me over there with a shovel. I'll figure it out in a week. Like, what are we doing? Yeah. All that time. The amount, well, they probably make Jesus,$100,000 an episode each one of these.
SPEAKER_01I have no idea what they make, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00Crazy money.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Anyways, that showed that well, anyway, that crashes.
SPEAKER_00Reality.
SPEAKER_01Yes. That's what I was just laughing at. I was like, you can't have a show where you don't find anything, but Curse of Wellgown's done it for years.
SPEAKER_00It's true. I never thought, well, the every once in a while they oh look, a piece of pottery. Oh look, it's like the other 700 pieces we found.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, look, another hole.
SPEAKER_01Evidence that somebody was here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's fine, but that doesn't mean that they dug down into the bedrock and buried their treasure in some area that nobody could ever get at, anyway.
SPEAKER_00And and how they did it is beyond me. Yeah. Right? Like, what? Anyway, I don't know. I think the whole thing, like, they built this whole thing as a scam and they put it right there by the tree.
unknownThat's right.
SPEAKER_00You know what I mean? Yeah. The whole they find the whole map, and it was in the MI uh MIB, one of those movies.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the last episode will be them open in the chest and be like, oh, look at all the few loonies kind of like.
SPEAKER_00Oh, they did find one of those, by the way. Don't laugh.
SPEAKER_01What a loony? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00A loony or a toonie. Yeah, in one of the holes. They're like, wait a minute.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah.
Reality TV Treasure Hunts And Eye Rolls
SPEAKER_00It's like somebody either fell in a pocket or was this like a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of the guys now of the crew. Like, fuck this shit. Fucking throw it down, throw it down overnight when nobody's looking. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. But that's funny. That is funny. Yeah, well, scale that. Yeah. Chris Paul says he's retiring.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I think he is. I think he's gone.
SPEAKER_01Well, he put that's what I just said. He put that note out or whatever. It looks like it. It looks like. Something about, I don't know, one last, one last ride, or this is gonna be a la good last one or something. I can't remember, but it was something about him playing his last game in uh in Charlotte, so in North Carolina where he was.
SPEAKER_0022 years. 2004, he came in. Fourth round. Uh sorry, fourth overall pick.
SPEAKER_01One of the best point guards ever played. Charlotte Hornets. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, oh, was rookie of the year's first year. Yeah. People forget about Chris Paul.
SPEAKER_01Chris go Chris Paul's.
SPEAKER_00Because he's 73 now.
SPEAKER_01Well, he's you know, go back to the the early uh uh was it New Orleans? Is that what no, where did he go?
SPEAKER_00He was at Hornets, then he went to New Orleans, didn't he? Charlotte.
SPEAKER_01Charlotte. No, no, he wasn't. No, I don't know if he ever played in Charlotte. Like that's what he was.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's who that's who that's who got him. No, wasn't that who who drafted?
SPEAKER_01Oh, the Hornets drafted, but then the Hornets moved to New Orleans. Oh, right, right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. I keep forgetting how what happened.
SPEAKER_01So that I anyway, he played for them, I thought, or maybe it was the Pelicans.
unknownI can't remember.
SPEAKER_00I think he played for the Pelicans too. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. We don't know everything we've told that before. But as you know as big every years everybody remembers before those Clippers runs like the Lob City, right? And then he, you know, he was on still a key part of that Phoenix team that made it to the finals that they lost him uh and he's just been injured for how many years now?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's the other thing, right? Been injured is he's never recovered really.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say young Chris Paul, but even Chris Paul through most of his career was an incredible point guard.
SPEAKER_00Oh ridiculous. Yeah, yeah, ridiculous. So he's he's going. LeBron's still playing. Like everybody's going, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It's uh you know, it's like what we talked about before. If I think these guys, you know, if you're gonna go, you know, especially this long in the career and you know, definitely a Hall of Famer. Like give the people their chance to say goodbye to you, right?
SPEAKER_00And and the players association rep.
SPEAKER_01Chris Paul was, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. So good on him, smart guy. Smart guy. So uh did you see that since uh Bronny got demoted to the D League, LeBron kicked him out of the house. I don't know if that's true, but it's funny if it is. It is funny, but it's not. I think he said he is moving, he moved out, though.
SPEAKER_01He moved out. He was asked LeBron was asked a question, I think after his first game back or whatever, and LeBron's like, I don't know, he moved out. I don't we don't talk anymore.
SPEAKER_00Now he plays in the G League, and pretty soon he's gonna be picking up the towels.
SPEAKER_01Well that just that just happened, right? He just got so LeBron came back, and I think LeBron coming back.
SPEAKER_00Took his spot, bumped him off, bumped his son, but let's be honest, he doesn't belong there. No, not yet, anyway. Not yet. He can he can get there, he can be a journeyman.
SPEAKER_01He could be a journeyman, yeah.
SPEAKER_00If if he wants it bad enough. Yeah. Right? Or he can just live off dad's how many billion? Yeah, right. Yeah, yeah, if dad's gonna fork it out.
SPEAKER_01Well, like we said last week, he didn't he sign like a a two-year or three year two point some million dollar a year deal.
SPEAKER_00Like Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so he's he's gonna be doing all right for the first couple years of his career.
SPEAKER_00I hope he didn't spend too much money on that townhouse, son.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's right.
Chris Paul’s Farewell And Bronny’s Demotion
SPEAKER_00Right? Wait, where does he where do they live? Oh, well we have we need to spend a mint on somewhere because he's gonna have to live in that area, right? Yeah, can't move somewhere else. So I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Did yeah, I don't know where he moved to.
SPEAKER_00Well, actually, there's no way he's living in an apartment. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I don't know exactly where LeBron lives either. It's somewhere out in the house.
SPEAKER_00I don't either, but I'm sure I'm sure Bronny's living in a house, not on a condo.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right, like come on. Yeah, right, you know. So 21, good on you, buddy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Driving around your 1973 Toyota, whatever. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Would LeBron come back in his first game? I was more impressed with the other.
SPEAKER_00Did you watch it?
SPEAKER_01Uh I don't, I don't have, yeah. I watched oh yeah. I mean the highlights I watched. Who has time to watch a game anymore? Oh, I don't I don't have the uh cable any anymore either, right? But um he uh what did he score 11 points or something? So he still has that double digit scoring streak.
SPEAKER_00That's right, because right, because it's been for how many years? Yeah, 18. Oh, it's crazy. It's a crazy amount, yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's the big one.
SPEAKER_01So that's what they're like. It's funny because like I was listening to them talk about it the day before, and they're like, what do you think he's going for? Somebody's like, he's gonna go for like 10, 12 points. That's he's he wants to keep that double-digit streak alive. Once he hits that, he's not gonna care.
SPEAKER_00I've watched a couple of games where he's in the fourth corner and doesn't have it. Like oh, yeah, no, and then we're like, oh yeah, is he gonna get it? Yeah, give me the ball. Yeah, give me the ball.
SPEAKER_01I need this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Because I know that's in his head because it's in my head when I watch the games.
SPEAKER_01It's an incredible streak.
SPEAKER_00Incredible, ridiculous. It makes no sense, right?
SPEAKER_01But he uh the biggest thing that impressed me was he had 12 assists and only one turnover.
SPEAKER_00That's what the turnovers he's been a problem lately with his stone hands. I don't know what's going on there, but put some moisturizer on those things, boys. But yeah, yeah, exactly. Good about the turnovers because we know it's a losing games, right? Let's be honest.
SPEAKER_01Because everybody kept saying, oh, when LeBron comes back, it's gonna throw the chemistry off. And I think Luca had he deferred. He let Luca Luca was the man. Luca had 30 some, Austin had 26, I think, and LeBron had 11. Like LeBron had a LeBron stat, except for the score. He had 11, 12, and like eight, or something like that, or 11, 12, and 6, or something like that.
SPEAKER_00Well, I think the game before played 30 minutes, so pretty good. Not bad. The game the game before he came back, though, when Bronny got sent down, that game that Bronny played. I don't know if you watch the highlights, but like Lucas set him up twice and Bronny didn't shoot and pass the pack off. Oh, okay. And Lucas like, okay, fuck you. Give me the ball. That was the end. That was the end of you. Bronny should have shot, bro.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right? But whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Speaking of shooting, Lakers fired the bus boys.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's not a surprise.
SPEAKER_00Not the bus boys like putting the tables, but the bus, the family, these brothers, yeah, who they thought were probably gonna run the show. They were the scouts, I believe, for years, right? For basketball?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, there was one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's I know they picked Reeves, they got Caruso, they picked those two guys. I know that for sure. But Jeannie's still there. She's Jeannie's still there.
SPEAKER_01I knew that there was, you know, when they sold their material.
Lakers Front Office Moves And Dynasty Lore
SPEAKER_00Billion dollar payoff, Mike. You're fired. Here's a billion dollars. Crazy, man. Yeah, with a B. Well, that's just so they're I think they're gonna be just fine. I think they're fine. Yeah. What did they sell? I can't even remember what the lake was. Oh, it's a ridiculous amount of money. When that was sold. Yeah, yeah. But she's keeping like a small roll for the next five years or something, and then they're gonna try to figure some shit out. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm sure that's she still did a good job, like that.
SPEAKER_00But uh the two brothers probably like, what?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We're not dad said you know what I mean? Like there's a there's a show on Netflix about that, by the way.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's a there's a there's the the the fictional one too that's like uh that they have on well that's the one I'm talking about. I don't know what's on Amazon Prime or whatever?
SPEAKER_00Oh no, this one's on Netflix and it's like I want to say Goldie Han or somebody like that. And that the two brothers thought they were getting it, but they gave it to the daughter. So she's running it. Yeah. Now there's a new season coming out.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Yeah, so it's not bad.
SPEAKER_00I watched it.
SPEAKER_01There's the one called there's the one that they have, I think, on Prime. I think it's on Prime, where they it's the uh I think it's called Showtime. They're talking about the 80s, the Lakers when Buspert bought them and then like how he transitioned that and became the Showtime Lakers, built around magic, all that stuff, right? Like, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Incredible. That's what got everybody into the Lakers was way back then, right?
SPEAKER_01However, well the Lakers were always, yeah, Lakers were always, you know, celebrities always went out, but yeah, the theory.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you watch it for the celebrities. You want to see sitting in who's slip row with uh Nicholson and the boys.
SPEAKER_01Nicholson, um oh my god, uh Diane.
SPEAKER_00Anybody, it doesn't matter. There's so many of them always at the game.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's like a lot of diehards too that are there, like Jack. Oh, yeah. You know, so when Jack not being at the games anymore is huge, right?
SPEAKER_00Because Jack Well it's like Billy Crystal's watching the Clippers all those years.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's like Spike Lee with the Knicks, right?
SPEAKER_00Spike Lee with the Knicks, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. But I read that was telling you, I read that stat about Joker. He's leading the decade in points, assists, steals. What's the fourth one? Blocks wouldn't be blocks. And he's second in blocks.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00In the decades, son.
SPEAKER_01That's crazy. So far, yeah, in the decade. Five years in, eh? That's insane. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00People are like, who? No, anybody watch him watching him play? Like, what?
SPEAKER_01That's what I said. For the last what, two years he's averaged a triple double, or he, you know, or close to it. Uh well for the last five years, he's average close to it. Insane. So that's what I mean. We were talking about that. Go back to the go back to the decade before then, and you would go, well, fuck, was it LeBron? I don't know, because Westbrook was averaging a triple double for like three years in a row or whatever it was, right?
SPEAKER_00So But to be in the top four categories, how much are they paying that guy? Exactly. He ain't never leaving. No, he's he ain't never leaving.
SPEAKER_01He's so, when you watch him, it's like it's amazing how how much he controls. He's so big, he can see so much of his court, and it's just like his vision, his control of the game at his pace.
SPEAKER_00It's he's got better passes than LeBron, Lane.
SPEAKER_01He's not flashy, but man, he's good. No, yeah. Some of the shit that he hits, like those high arc and one leggers. Dirk had that.
SPEAKER_00Dirk did it. He was the first one to do it, right? It's Dirk, wasn't it? Uh maybe.
SPEAKER_01I'm sure, I'm sure some of them had it.
SPEAKER_00But not like as much as he did. He always couldn't know.
SPEAKER_01Well, he did that because he's already seven feet. His statue outside of Dallas is that one-legged fadeaway. There you go. There you go, right? Like, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But why wouldn't he have a one-legged fateaway? Because you can shoot over everybody. Oh my god. Even even Wimby probably.
SPEAKER_01Did we talk about Dwayne Wade's statue? I think we did. We might have talked about it in one of the earlier episodes about how bad it was. But yeah. Poor Dwayne. It's a great, like, I know exactly the moment when he jumped up on the table. He's like, This is my house or whatever, right? But like anyway, yeah. But the Dirk's the Dirk statue, the Shack one, have you seen that? Like it's him dunking, like hanging on a rim or whatever, like legs up, you know how he's gonna do it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Trying to rip it in pieces. Fantastic.
SPEAKER_01But uh there's some some of those some of those statues are really good.
SPEAKER_00But just not poor uh poor Mime He fella.
SPEAKER_01No, just not poor.
SPEAKER_00Maybe they'll fix it. Well, maybe maybe that, you know, the the dude who did that one wasn't as good as everybody else, the other ones. Or although uh are they all done by the same person?
SPEAKER_01No, I don't think so. Yeah, so there you go.
SPEAKER_00So that artist wasn't top shelf.
SPEAKER_01I think D. Wade came out and said I worked with him on it. Like, but yeah, I don't know how they messed up his face.
SPEAKER_00How bad is D W. Yeah, like what were you doing when he You guys on LSD when he's doing that? Right. What's up, man?
SPEAKER_01So LeBron's definitely gonna get a statue in Cleveland.
SPEAKER_00And LA, right?
SPEAKER_01Maybe. Yeah. He brought so a championship. He brought two championships to Miami. Does he get one in Miami for three the four years he was there? Not really.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, they'll have to.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Should he?
SPEAKER_00Well, they should replace the Dwayne Wade one. Good point.
SPEAKER_01Is that Jim Bosch gets one? You know what I mean? Like he shouldn't. Well, I know.
SPEAKER_00I mean where Jordan only has one.
SPEAKER_01Miami doesn't win those championships without Bosch either, right? Like so it's you know, anyway, it's just it's it's just interesting. I mean, LeBron definitely deserves one out outside out in front of Cleveland in Cleveland, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't know if he deserves one in LA. I mean, he broke the scoring record in LA. He won it one championship in LA.
SPEAKER_00Listen, I'm gonna keep I'm gonna say it like this. LeBron to me is the best basketball player that ever lived, but Michael Jordan's the greatest basketball player that ever lived. That's who I'm going with it.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Why? Because Michael Jordan does stuff that LeBron doesn't have. LeBron has stats, and that makes you the best, but it doesn't make you the greatest.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's what I'm going with. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I think that's part of it.
SPEAKER_00What do you think of that, Ernie? Fuck you, uh, what what the hell's it? Perkins. Yeah, Perkins. Perkins. Oh, speaking of that, Stephen A got fired off of uh NBA court, whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he came out and said it was he negotiated his negotiation.
SPEAKER_00You negotiate shit. They told you to go fuck yourself. You're playing it off again. Stephen A. Smith doesn't get fired from anything.
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_01He doesn't.
Media Personalities, Narratives, And LeBron
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so yeah, they got rid of him.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Take that boy.
SPEAKER_01That's fine with that. I'm not joking. I'm not gonna lie. Whenever I watch uh any of those shows, if it's Stephen A, I either fast forward through how he give it to somebody else, or I or I just don't watch it. Same with Perkins. I can't listen to it.
SPEAKER_00I can't take it.
SPEAKER_01Not saying he's not good at what he does, it's just everything is about, you know, some controversial take.
SPEAKER_00It's the only way he keeps his job.
SPEAKER_01And I used to not mind Stephen A. He used to because you know, all the yelling and everything he does would drive me nuts. But uh last year was the you know, when him and LeBron got into it, and all of a sudden then he started doing the rounds and started like bad mop and LeBron, and now everything is all about bad mouth LeBron. He's like, Oh, I give him his due. It's like, yeah, you do, but like you, it's clear as day what you're doing now. You've the narrative is switched coming out of your voice now, right? Like you're definitely making out that LeBron's not a great guy. And um, you know, don't know the man personally, but stayed out of the newspaper. Stayed out of the newspaper. Look at the look at the career he said. The the the biggest misstep he's had is that the decision we talked about this before.
SPEAKER_00Actually, the second misstep of the Hennessy commercial, you asked.
SPEAKER_01The Hennessy commercial was bad.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but once again, I'm sure somebody talked him into that, right? Didn't we already screw this up once? Yeah, yeah, there's no way we'll screw up.
SPEAKER_01We're just gonna make fun of it this time. Let's make fun of it. Well, he didn't again, like we said, he doesn't give a shit. He's a billionaire.
SPEAKER_00He's a billionaire.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And not from playing, right?
SPEAKER_01Well, he's made a shitload of money from playing too, but yeah, but I mean, it's more than a lot of. Well, it's not like, yeah, like when you go back and you look at uh guys like Jordan, Barkley, guys like that, like they didn't make their like the Jordan, they did all right, but they didn't make the majority of their money from their actual playing careers, right? There's a lot of guys now that that's what they'll do.
SPEAKER_00Oh well, Charles and those guys are probably getting 25 million a year.
SPEAKER_01I can't remember what I can't remember what he's making right now at ESPN. He doesn't give a shit.
SPEAKER_00No, no. Why would you?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly, right?
SPEAKER_00You know who gives a shit? Pat Beverly. You heard about this?
SPEAKER_01I heard about it. I can't stand this guy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Here's the thing though, like we both thought that he went and beat the shit out of the boyfriend.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_00So if you don't okay, sorry, people, if you don't know the story. So the story is arrested. Yeah. Pat Beverly is a basketball player that plays for nobody. Nobody. Now, well, he used to play for a bunch of teams. He was a good defender, but a big mouth, whatever. Okay, so um, he got arrested and uh because it said involved with uh the boyfriend and his sit little sister. So we thought, and everybody probably thought, that he went and beat up the boyfriend. Yes, which is what I thought. Not true, he choked his fucking sister. So yeah. So instead of teaching the boyfriend a lesson, he taught his sister a lesson, like, you know, you stupid blah blah blah, whatever, and give her the once over, and she pressed charges. Good. So yeah, stupid.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Listen, even if your sister's stupid, what are you doing choking her? What's wrong with you? Are you are you PJ uh uh PJ Calissimo?
SPEAKER_01Oh, uh well, Charles Spreewell. Charles Spreewell. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Pat Beverley Arrest And Accountability
SPEAKER_00And then uh what's his name? I can picture the uh basketball uh coach, think white dude, uh, white hair, was always putting his hands on his players. Or uh college. Oh, Bobby Knight? Thank you, Bobby Knight. Oh, yeah. Bobby Knight who comes to mind. I had his picture right there. I was thinking Madden. No, it's not Madden. Yeah, Bobby Knight with the fiery temper from Indian. A little bit throwing chairs, throwing chairs all the time. That's right, that's right. So yeah, but yeah, Pat Beverly got arrested. And I mean, it's probably a misdemeanor or some stupid shit, but still gets on the internet quick, doesn't it? Yeah. Right.
SPEAKER_01Anyway, Bad Bev is just somebody that's he's probably he's probably the same. Like he's he stays relevant because he runs his mouth, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like Ja Moron or John Morant.
unknownOh god.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So that little skirmish. So uh Ja wasn't playing against uh whatcha called there?
SPEAKER_01Oh, the game last night against Dallas.
SPEAKER_00Against Dallas and Clay clanged a couple and Ja was mouthing off.
SPEAKER_01Clay had it I actually looked up the stats. Clay did all right. Shot six for twelve from three, shot seven for seventeen from the game, so He did all right. He shot it.
SPEAKER_00But I think he missed like a real bad one or something.
SPEAKER_01Probably near the end or whatever.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. But anyway, my our point was as we were talking about it off camera, and we said that John Morant Moron uh Morant is an idiot. Like, if you're on the court, you can shit talk. You can't shit talk when you're on your street clothes on the bench, because you that's not fair. You can't even get, you know, what do you do?
SPEAKER_01Well, you can still talk, but you don't like And then you come out and he's pointing in the face out of the end at the end of the game. Hey, what is wrong with you?
SPEAKER_00Clay, you're so slap in the mouth.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right? Like, come on, John Moran, you're such a But Clay, I agree with Clay.
SPEAKER_01He said, you know, when you're a superstar in this league, you have a responsibility, and this guy like is, you know, like skirts all responsibility. No responsibility for anything. No accountability. None of it's his fault. It's always everybody else's.
SPEAKER_00Of course it's everybody's fault. It's like a five-year-old.
SPEAKER_01Listen, nobody's saying the guy can't play, but you know.
SPEAKER_00Why why did I the headaches with these guys, eh? I don't know, man. Like, you know, don't you have good parents that teach you the right things?
SPEAKER_01I've never heard any of his teammates come out and say he's a piece of shit or anything like that, but it's still like you definitely disconnected the gangsters and they'll go get him. But you just definitely distract.
SPEAKER_00Well, everything's a distraction, isn't it?
SPEAKER_01But I mean, you know, like a lot of these guys now have said, like, I don't want to be the face of the league.
Ja Morant Sideline Trash Talk
SPEAKER_00No. Well, you wouldn't even go in a dunk contest.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I know. That's what everybody wanted. Him and Zion. Of course, Zion can't stay on the floor.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's still over again injured, but anyway. Yeah. Here we go again.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's the big debate. Stay away from the hammer right now or the big discussion topic that's going on right now with how fast the pace is this year. They said it's the fastest pace since like the 80s, which I'm assuming would have been like back in the showtime. So anyway, so they're saying you've seen a lot of soft tissue injuries. Okay. Because there's because you're I didn't read this show.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I'm gonna look into this. Now sorry, people, I didn't research on this one, so I gotta go through my collection. Okay, I'm good. Alright, so here we go on this. Get ready. The Showtime Lakers were the 80s, and that's when everybody was trying to keep up to them. Their pace was just ridiculous. But a lot of dudes back then, their pace was ridiculous. So you're telling me right now the pace is faster than that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Or no, or the fastest sense then.
SPEAKER_00All right, hang on. Even with the better courts, the better shoes, the better training, the better machines, the better food, the better trainers, people are still hurt way more now than they were back then.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I don't know if they talked about the injuries.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm telling you, I looked. Way more now than back then.
SPEAKER_01Which is crazy again, because you know, like I saw uh uh look it up. Whatever show.
SPEAKER_00I'm not even telling our guy to look it up because I'm telling you.
SPEAKER_01I think it was Dirk Nowitzki was saying, you know, that's fine. You're you're you know, the games are fast paced, but what are you doing on those days between? What are you doing on those days off? So this is where it gonna go. Are you training, right? Like, you know, so that you're mimicking that kind of pace because you can't play at a really crazy pace and do nothing the next day. Okay. And then play at a crazy pace and then do nothing.
SPEAKER_00Splinter's not gonna go run 20 kilometers.
SPEAKER_01When the the day between.
Pace Of Play, Injuries, And Training
SPEAKER_00Well, not ever. Right. Because you're not mimicking what you're doing. You need to do what you need to do. Right, yeah, sorry.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. So on their days off, they're still training, they're still doing those same movements, doing those same actions, so that you're reducing that risk. Listen, there's so many. There's no way they did that in the 80s, though. Right?
SPEAKER_00With with uh uh Chuck Taylor's on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right? These guys, and I've never heard of Chuck Taylor blowing up. Yeah. Right? Like, you know, the same Chinese kids are making them back then. I'm sure in China. Yeah, it's I don't know, man.
SPEAKER_01It's uh it's uh I'm sure there's I'm sure they're researching and I'm sure there's gonna be some findings that are gonna come out at some point. Like I said, we talked about it previously a couple of times now about the way that they're landing on their feet and pushing off when they're running. Could it be that? Is it uh is it that they're you know, the shit that they do now with the ball handling is so much crazier, you know. You know, before you'd watch them dribble around in circles until somebody now it's like they're stopping on a dime, changing directions. Like the Eurostep is you know, it's a great move, but like look at that, like plant, go the opposite way, right? Like, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's uh it's you put the strain on your body.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, you do. But like I said, at the same time. The guys in the 80s were training.
unknownNo, God, no.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, just smoking and drinking and playing cards and yeah, at halftime, right?
SPEAKER_01What did they call the bulls again? I probably know I brought this up before, but if you watch the last dance, isn't it the cocaine circus or something like that?
SPEAKER_00They called it like no wonder it was so fast-paced. That's right. Right, exactly, right?
SPEAKER_01But yeah, it's just it's the coach before it was Paul Westfall that was the coach before Pat Riley that started at faster pace, I thought, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_00Before Pat Riley?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Wasn't that? I can't remember. I'd have to go back and look. I thought that was Paul Westfall.
SPEAKER_00What year are you looking at, though?
SPEAKER_01This would have been early 80s.
SPEAKER_00Early 80s.
SPEAKER_01Because Pat Riley took over like around 82 or 83, right?
SPEAKER_00From uh what's his name? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's what I was thinking it was.
SPEAKER_00I think it's Pat Riley. I think you're right, isn't it?
SPEAKER_01Paul Westfall, you mean.
SPEAKER_00Or Paul Westfall. Yeah, that's what I think. I think he started that off. Sorry, people, just brain threading.
SPEAKER_01I hate it what Mike makes me think, and we didn't talk about it ahead of time. I didn't talk about it beforehand, so yeah.
SPEAKER_00All right. Sometimes we talk about things because we're just curious because we're sure we're fans, but I we didn't talk about that one. So I had to think about that. We saw it took a while.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's the way we do these. We talk about a lot of shit through the week, and then we go, we should talk about that on the weekend. Yeah. Yeah. Then sometimes we let other people comment and tell us that we're idiots. You guys don't know what you're talking about.
Rings, Legacies, And Bubble Lakers
SPEAKER_00Dude, I get there was a comment by this really cool name, uh, like um something big dick 69. Like, yeah, yeah, and it's not your other account. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. No, this one buddy's like, you guys are hilarious. That was it. I picture this guy with a big fucking joy. It's like these guys are hey honey, come watch these two fucking Canadian retards. Yeah. These guys are idiots. These guys are idiots. Exactly. Look, there's more idiots in Canada than we thought. Yeah, yeah, that's I I read his when I read his handle because you see the thing right now. That's funny. Yeah, that's funny. But anyway, good on you, buddy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I'm still waiting to hear back from our laundry clothesline guy that says you could make meth and you just don't want to. Remember that dude. Right. I remember you told me about it. He's probably so I can't find the channel again. Right, right, yeah. How did I find that before they called again? Bookmark. What happened? I don't need books. Yeah. Oh, James Harden had a game. Yeah, last night. Did they play School for the Blind? Uh who did they play? Who did they play? He had 55 regardless. I can't play.
SPEAKER_01Atlanta? I can't remember who they played, but he has he scored 55. 55. Oh, they played the Charlotte because we were just talking about Chris Paul retiring. That's right. Uh and how he was saying it was gonna be it was gonna be his last game in Charlotte.
SPEAKER_0055 points. Sorry, Chris. Yeah. Yeah, oh well.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so but Harden putting up the numbers. The Clippers just are a hot mess.
SPEAKER_00Well, how old's Harden? 34?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, mid-30s. So he's in the middle of the year.
SPEAKER_00Mid 30, 35? What year did he come in?
SPEAKER_01So he's probably so Durant's what, 36, 37? Chris Paul's the same, right? Harden came in. Chris Paul's like over 40, I think, isn't he?
SPEAKER_00Oh, is he? Well, hang on, he came in in 04. So that makes him two. Oh, yeah, 40. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry, Chris.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So he would have been, he played, he went. Yeah, so Harden's probably 36, 37. I don't know how many years Paul played at Wake Forest. Oh, I don't either.
SPEAKER_00But I said he got the jersey. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So let's assume he did two years, came out at 20, and he's been in the league for 22. That would probably be 42, then, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah. Wow. Well, you don't hear about him because he's been injured for the last four years. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah, 55. That's that means you still got it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah, because where did he play last year?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like I said, yeah, I would kind of Chris Paul's one of those guys. Same with Mello. We're guys that you would like to see them get a chip because emphasis is put on winning a chip when they talk about their legacies, right? Like you know, poor Barkley has to deal with it every single time he sits up there and listens to Kenny. I know, right? Who, you know, good on Kenny. Kenny won Jim Championships with Houston, but Kenny was not the man. Barkley was the man. You know, so it's it is still different, right? But he still gotta listen to Shaq and Kenny talk about getting their rings, and he's always when Shaq always goes, and how many do you have in?
SPEAKER_00That's right. Yeah. Right? Yeah, rough.
SPEAKER_01Shaq's got what, four?
SPEAKER_00Two and yeah, four. Three and one.
SPEAKER_01Right, because that was a big thing. I remember like, regardless that they, you know, I'm glad they made up Kobe and Shaq or whatever, but you know, that was another thing. Kobe wanted five. If they were stayed together, Kobe wanted six, he wanted to tie Mike, but he also wanted five and two. If they stayed together, they wouldn't have been beat. He wanted to beat Shaq, right?
SPEAKER_00You can't beat a team like that, right? And that's almost what LA had with Anthony Davis. If he would have stayed healthy, Anthony Davis and LeBron are almost like Kobe and Shaq, but not as dominant. Right?
SPEAKER_01League's different now, I guess.
SPEAKER_00It is, but I'm just saying, you know, big guys.
SPEAKER_01They give these guys their money, they have a good year, and then those guys go out to get money somewhere else. Yeah, you know, LA can't keep their roster together.
SPEAKER_00It's been a problem.
SPEAKER_01That team that they had that won in the bubble that year, no matter what people say. Like that was a good team, man.
SPEAKER_00Yep, and mentally strong. So there you go. That's what wins. It counts. Suck it.
SPEAKER_01They had Dwight Howard, they had Javal McGee. See, Dwight, I miss Dwight Howard. I love that guy. I love that guy.
Weather Turns, Winter Tires, And Wrap
SPEAKER_00Yes, Russian Rondo, of course. Shoot the three when you need them. Yeah. Smart player. Like Big Shot Bob. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Big Shot Bob.
SPEAKER_00Big Shot Bob.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oh well. You got anything to add?
SPEAKER_01No, man. I think we're good. I think we kind of rambled on a lot today.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so we're just enjoying the sun today because it's nice.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. He's freezing. It's it's I'm cold. It's about eight degrees outside. It's not horrible today.
SPEAKER_00Oh no, today's nice. Like we were outside. It was cold this morning. Yes, sir. So I think you're gonna hate it. I scraped the car.
SPEAKER_01Tonight. Is it tonight or tomorrow night? It's either tonight or tomorrow night where it's gonna drop down to minus one, feel like minus six. So when you get up in the morning, you brighten early like you do, you're gonna you're you're gonna be scraping your car off and you're gonna be freezing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's getting chilly willy. It's getting chilly really, but that's all right. Gotta get my snow tires on.
SPEAKER_01You gotta get those on, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Or buy a helicopter. I'm deciding on which one.
