Ten shots, pepper spray, and a camera rolling—our opening segment digs into the Minnesota shooting, asking hard questions about training, proportional force, and why de‑escalation so often goes missing. We talk about the playbook of narrative spin, where official statements arrive before facts, and share practical advice for civic courage that doesn’t get you hurt: film from a safe distance, don’t impede, protect the record.

From there, we breathe a little. Ethan Hawke professes his love for Nova Scotia, which leads us into winter life: a mangled snowplow on a wrecker, predawn highways where plow lights blind and blades crowd your lane, and the timeless rule to never pass a plow. We swap cold‑weather war stories—burst pipes from zeroed thermostats, frozen eggs, and the small victories of shoveling early and letting sunlight finish the job.

Education takes center stage as we challenge easier SAT reading sections and shrinking attention spans fed by a decade of smartphone habits. We don’t blame a generation; we blame incentives. If schools lower the bar to soothe anxiety, universities become the first true stress test. Rigor matters, handwriting still trains the mind and hand, and resilience is learned by meeting friction, not dodging it. A wild detour follows—a swallowed necklace in India recovered with 40 bananas—equal parts absurd and ingenious.

We close on basketball and longevity. LeBron’s excellence at his age remains strangely underappreciated; injuries ripple across the league; and the dunk contest misses stars who balance risk against spectacle. Kevin Durant’s quiet march up the all‑time scoring list reminds us what steady love of the game looks like. Along the way, we touch on a headline‑grabbing arrest and tariff theater with China, separating policy from performance.

If you enjoy sharp takes with real‑world grit, tap follow, share the show, and drop your thoughts: What story should we dig into next, and where do you draw the line between courage and caution?

Banter And Setup With The Cat

SPEAKER_00

So, how are you doing today, Mike?

SPEAKER_02

I'm pretty good. Feeling a little tired. You look a little tired, yeah. On the edibles, huh?

SPEAKER_00

That's it, yeah. One too many.

SPEAKER_02

One too many edibles. Don't look at me like that, bitch.

unknown

Come on.

SPEAKER_00

You know how to get up. Come on. You know how to do it. You do it all the time.

SPEAKER_01

Come on. Oh, what was that?

SPEAKER_00

That's what I told you. He's not like she would she would be able to jump up there, no problem. He's just not that coordinating.

SPEAKER_02

100% missed. What are you doing? So welcome back to You Would Think with uh Bobby D and the cat. Now here's the problem. The cat decided he wants to be Mikey D today, so we're gonna let Logan and we're gonna dub in the voice.

unknown

That's right.

SPEAKER_02

So how are you doing today, Mike?

SPEAKER_00

I'm pretty good.

SPEAKER_02

Feeling a little tired. You look a little tired, yeah. Yeah. Un edibles, huh?

SPEAKER_00

That's it, yeah. One too many.

Minnesota Shooting And ICE Conduct

SPEAKER_02

One too many edibles. Don't look at me like that, bitch. All right. Minnesota again, Mike. So are you kidding me? Psychopaths. These are cycles with guns. You want to tell the story?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I mean, I think everybody's seen the story now. It's another another shooting in Minnesota, right? And uh you know, I mean, I've I've seen the videos again, and and I don't want to get too much into it, but you know, to me, whatever narratives being sold about him being a threat does not uh does not stack up from what I'm seeing. Guys guy was just trying to stick put himself in between her uh uh some woman and and the ice agents who were getting aggressive and Yeah. I mean, I don't know, ten shots? You call that how's that how is that? But remember, he didn't he didn't pull his gun. He didn't pull his gun.

SPEAKER_02

He didn't pull his gun?

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_02

And you're allowed to carry your gun if you have a permit, which he obviously did.

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm pretty sure the uh you know the uh the the the the message on truth social from your leader was only criminals carry guns in the streets. I uh uh but I thought the whole Second Amendment was the right to to bear arms, and you know, if you had a legal permit, then isn't that the whole argument that like you know we can't anyway. I don't I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

There's also there's states now that have conceal carry. Yeah where you can and I believe Texas I think has that now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like before you could just carry anyway, but now you can conceal carry, which is also legal, which is why nobody robs anything in Texas because everybody in the gas station has a gun. Right? But yeah, it's just getting ridiculous. But then off camera we were talking, I just found this out. These ice agents aren't properly trained in their psychopaths, uh, alleged. But they're they didn't go through policing, they didn't go through training, there's probably no manual. And uh, as you were saying, there's maybe some good old boys. Could be some good old boys in there, and you know, take that how you like. Say, take it how you like, but it's some of the recruitment messaging is a little bit when you're shooting a guy ten times that has no gun. Oh, by the way, Mike, he's white. Right.

SPEAKER_00

American citizen.

SPEAKER_02

American citizen.

SPEAKER_00

Gun down on the street, gun down the street for videotaping what was going on and and putting himself in between.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, saving the lady, and then he got pepper sprayed.

SPEAKER_00

A woman that got pushed down to the ground and then he got pepper sprayed. I I I I didn't hear what was said. I saw it sounded like he got his hands up and he says, It's okay, man, it's okay.

SPEAKER_02

He's not even looking at the guy.

SPEAKER_00

No, because he's getting pepper sprayed. Yeah, he's not even looking at the guy. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Anyway, it's uh these guys are just what these are the bad people that just want to do bad things to anybody they don't care.

SPEAKER_00

Well, like I told you, like some of the scary things is some of the other videos you're seeing where you know you get these guys like saying to people with filming them, you know, like of course, you know, you're being harassed with a phone in your face. Okay, I get it. It's anger-inducing. Sure. Sure. I wouldn't want somebody in my face with my camera telling me I should be ashamed of myself.

SPEAKER_02

But a police person will never do anything because they're trained to take it.

SPEAKER_00

They should be trained to take it. And she said, like, you know, the video is, you know, you should be ashamed of yourself. And the guy says, You think you would have learned your lesson by now. And then she said, Well, what do you mean? What sort of lesson are we supposed to be learning here? And the guy, like, then the then it just kind of cuts because the guy grabs the phone away from her, right?

SPEAKER_02

And nothing's gonna happen, he's gonna smash the phone, and that's the end of it. That's just uh But at the end, the other thing, too, is you know, we gotta go both sides. Some of these people need to stop standing in the middle of this, too. Video it from afar, but don't get in because you look what's happening, they don't care about you. Yeah, they'll either do it hurt you or whatever, so just try to be careful with your own self. Well, this is you know, videotape for sure, but stand back.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, don't impede them.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, don't impede them because they don't care. They're it's correct, they don't care, they're not real police, right?

SPEAKER_00

They're but definitely they have their right to to pro peacefully protest, they have a right to film and document what's going on. Because actually, I mean the documents.

SPEAKER_02

Well, there's gonna be some lawsuits for sure.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we're seeing the document in these things are actually coming become like coming in pretty handy, right? Because is clearly I just don't understand how they can kid I don't know how they're gonna spin this because they've tried to spin it as the guy aggressively approached the kids weapon.

SPEAKER_02

Well, okay, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Here's the thing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

If you lie with conviction and say it enough and put in enough channels and say it in the right way, people believe it. I'm telling you right now, don't believe it, watch the video yourself.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I told you the other thing is it was murdered. It's it's like a playbook, it seems like get out in front of it as fast as you can to start spinning a narrative so that when people see it. Before they even knew what happened.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

But as soon as people see those videos, they're gonna be like, Oh, yeah, I know, but you know, they they said that they that he was carrying a gun, or you approached him aggressively, he did this or he did that. He didn't know. So they're so they're you're looking for the evidence that they've already put out before the videos are even out.

SPEAKER_02

His parents already said, Stop slagging my boy.

SPEAKER_00

That the parents came out and said, Lady, don't listen to this.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, by the way, not a protester that gets paid. This is a nurse that helps people that works at the VA hospital.

SPEAKER_00

Worked at the VA hospital. Worked at the VA hospital, regardless.

SPEAKER_02

Good person. If you're a nurse, I don't care what you do. As you know, we're a big fan of nurses. So uh yeah, so whatever.

SPEAKER_00

But well, we know we told you they tried to spin Unreal, man. They spin the one with the woman that Renee Good. They spin that one because they said she tried to run them over with the vehicle. The evidence has been looked at from so many different angles, whatever. We don't need to get into it. I just don't they're gonna try to spin this one, and I don't know how they're gonna spin this.

SPEAKER_02

The other one, you could spin it a little bit. You could. This one, I don't see how they're going to, especially with the other video that they're trying to hide from everybody.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_02

There's another video from the other side.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, it's out there now. I saw it yesterday.

SPEAKER_02

So that lady needs to be under woman in pink or whatever, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Videotaping. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, on the grassy knoll. Oh, it's yeah, it's bad. These people are pieces of human garbage. Like, why would you shoot that dude?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No gun, little slight fella on the ground already. But still full of holes.

SPEAKER_00

Again, like acting in self-defense. Ten shots is self-defense? Really? Well, they were worried maybe he was gonna get back up.

SPEAKER_01

He didn't have a gun.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. Yeah, I don't understand. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I keep saying the same thing. You ever hear of a taser? Don't you have a taser? Don't you have a few more than a big thing?

SPEAKER_00

But the funny thing is that, like I said, like this guy uh, you know, is a nurse uh and he's you know, he's got his hand up saying it's okay, it's okay. He's trying to de-escalate the situation. Why isn't the trained, you know, because they're not trained, that's the problem. Why isn't that guy trying to de-escalate? Because they're not trying to catch up to de-escalate, right? Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_02

They're not trained for that.

SPEAKER_00

They're just giving them bullies. They're just giving the guns. They're bullies. Don't let them get in your way.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Right? Yeah. Bullies with guns.

SPEAKER_00

Bullies with guns.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, I work security for different places and stuff.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like, not just bar security, other venues. And there was, I'm not saying that dude's me, but there was one guy there. I'm sure if he could join Icy Wood, here's why. Six sets of handcuffs on him. We only have to carry one. Right. Right? You get six. He's got the pants with this and that, and all the baubles and bangles hanging out. Wants to be a policeman. Can't be, because he can't pass a test. Right. Right? Because you know, graduated top two-thirds of his grade six class. But yeah, I mean, he'll be a security guard for the rest of life, but wants to be a cop.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, baton, asp, like everything.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And just an asshole.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Just a hundred. I'm like, bro, like, really? You know, and they'd call me and I go, okay, you need to back the fuck. First of all, are you all right, buddy? Like, you know, what happened? Hey, you handcuffed. Like, all right, why we handcuff? Psychopath. This is what I see when I see ice. They're just crazy people with guns and bullies with guns.

SPEAKER_00

And it's scary. So again, like these guys, you know, these people are out there trying. Again, we talked about this before.

SPEAKER_02

But like you said, don't intervene either because look what's happening. They do not care about you.

SPEAKER_00

And I video it. Yeah, like it's uh, you know, they're trying to stop people from getting, you know, hauled out of their how homes, out of their places of work. They're trying to stop it. So I get it. Um it's a crazy situation.

Filming, De‑Escalation, And Narrative Spin

SPEAKER_02

You know what, though I'm gonna add to that. People don't know this because nobody's watching this. In the Ukraine right now, this is what they're doing to people to get them to fight in the war. They're literally pulling them out of cars, pulling them out of houses, and saying, You're going into the military, they have no choice. Anybody between 18 and 60. So I watch those videos too. Like girls being dragged out of cars and taken off. Something like that's great. Oh, yeah, yeah, taken off somewhere. So, yeah, so it's happening everywhere. Yeah, these people are just they're it's not right. That's all we're saying. That's great that you sleep on that. Yeah, good boy. Yeah, I'm moving too much for him, I think. Yeah, yeah, that's right. Anyway, yeah. So we're not gonna go anymore about that. We're gonna go on with uh Ethan Hawk. You saw the video too.

SPEAKER_00

So uh Ethan Hawking a little more uh positive or happy positive. Closer to home. Yeah, man, he's a hell of an actor, that guy.

SPEAKER_02

Boy, he's good. Uh I just watched him on Rogan a couple weeks ago. I was listening in.

SPEAKER_00

He is he's quite he must be promoting a movie, then he must be.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't quite catch that, but yeah, he was, you know, he's uh Joe Rose asked him the right questions about dude, you're so believable. And this he goes, Well, I believed it. Yeah, yeah. He goes, If I believe it, you'll believe it. So you had me, man. You got me right in there. And he goes, That's uh thanks, man. I try real hard. Right? So yeah, he's real good. But yeah, he was uh on the Chelsea Handler show. If you don't know who that is, that's fine, she's a comedian. But uh, she was bad mouth in Nova Scotia because he goes, I summer in Nova Scotia. He's like, Nova Scotia, why just summer there? And he's like, Well, hang on a minute. And then he called out her from somewhere in New Jersey, and she's like, Fair enough.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he called her out, yeah. But he he flat out said he's been coming here for Oh, he's got property. He's been coming here for years, and I can't remember by the way, it's more specific, it's Anaganish. Which is and I can't remember why. Yeah, he's got a he's got a vacation home or a cottage or whatever up there where he cut he says he comes up to Nova Scotia to kind of like get away.

SPEAKER_02

We go see him in the summer, see if he come on the pod. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He might. Might yeah, can nothing better do. That's right.

SPEAKER_02

Or we'll go down. We ain't we know where Anaganish is.

SPEAKER_00

Down there in a regular, so that's right.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so there you go. So yeah, good old Ethan Hawke.

SPEAKER_00

But anyway, yeah, he says I can't I wish I could remember why what drew him here. I don't know if he just knew people from here and came up, yeah, but he's been here.

SPEAKER_02

Because she asked him, Do you have family? He's like now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, right? So no, he doesn't have family here, but he's been coming here for years, right?

SPEAKER_02

So well, hey, here's the thing. Maybe we shouldn't have said anything. This is a beautiful place. You know, it's a beautiful place, but don't come. Shh sorry, don't tell anybody.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's like he said, he comes up here to get away from it all, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, that's the thing, right? So the six people that are watching this, don't tell anybody.

SPEAKER_00

That's right, don't tell anybody.

SPEAKER_02

And that guy from Finland's Fen, don't tell him that's his real name, by the way.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, is it?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I told you. It's his name's Finn. S-V-E-N. That guy that wrote us from Duolingo.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. Oh, right, sure. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, apparently we're gonna be on an app. Anyway, um, what I saw coming in, and I'm like, holy, I gotta remember to tell Mike this one. I saw, uh, like, I don't know what the kind of truck. We don't know trucks, Mike. Uh F-250, you know, pretty big truck at the two tab on it, right? With a snow plow on the front. This truck was effed up. He hit something, bro, because the plow was bent and then the truck was bent. I'm thinking, Oh, where was this? Uh, it was on the highway. It was coming, it was on the back of a back of a wrecker. Crazy. And because I was dropping, I'm like, oh my god, look at that. What did so all I was kept thinking is how did that the only thing I can think of is he was in an area where he wasn't familiar with when he was plowing, and it was like one of the big concrete things. Oh, maybe.

SPEAKER_00

And he was like, Well, you see, like if it's if his job was to go in and clean up some of the stuff that already had been plowed, because like sometimes the first thing. The first plow is just push it all into one area if they buried something.

SPEAKER_02

Uh because I have never in all my years that I lived in old Canadian, I've never seen a plow destroyed like that. Oh, yeah. I didn't see it. I mean, maybe it was in a head-on collision, also, and I'd hate to see the other car because that thing's like a can opener. Yeah, those things like that, right?

SPEAKER_00

Those things scare the we talked about this before. Those things scared a living, especially the big ones. The the buddy.

SPEAKER_02

The guy just pulled out in front of me out here with one, just as I was coming to.

SPEAKER_00

Like a pickup truck or like one of the big ones?

SPEAKER_02

With the plow, like, but he had to, you know, he had to come out of the drive and he had to wing it, and he's in my room, and they're like, What? Yeah, I go, come on, man. Like, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No, those the plow sticks out further.

SPEAKER_00

Those big ones, the double stuff. The dump trucks there, like almost dump truck size ones. When they come, they're so big and they take up so much that they're actually usually into the oncoming traffic lane. And I mean, it's like, you know, it's six o'clock in the morning. I'm driving my wife to work. You can barely see because it's pitch black out. The light, the lights from this plow are like almost blinding you, and then he's got his bloody plow. Like a third of the way into my lane is forcing me over, and it's like I'm onto the shoulder trying to avoid him. It's I get it, they have to get out and plow, and that's why they tell people stay off the road. But you know, sometimes, hey, people have to go to work.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, nurses. You can't do nursing from home.

SPEAKER_00

Nurses have to go to work, man.

SPEAKER_01

Right, that'd be nice if you could do home nursing.

SPEAKER_00

So it's it's it's scary, man. I mean, I know what they're I know that's scary. Those things are providing a service, but man, I would not want to like be clipped by one of those things, right?

SPEAKER_02

There's a commercial on the radio that actually tells you don't pass a snow plow.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

There's a reason.

SPEAKER_03

There's a reason why.

SPEAKER_02

You know, I I don't like driving the 102 when it's in a like rainy and snow, and you pull up beside me, it's 18 wheels, you can't see shit. All the spray toep me past this guy, right? Like this morning I had to put her in drive to get past. Oh, yeah. Because where I was going this morning, it was snowing. And there's like this much snow on the ground. Oh, okay. Yeah. Right? I'm like, this isn't good. And then you go by the things out there by the airport, and the wind is howling like this. It was like a wait out for about two kilometers, and you drive out of it again.

SPEAKER_00

That's what's going to be I know, right? We uh I don't even think we were gonna plan on talking about it, but there's a good storm that's like right now over the states. It's coming.

SPEAKER_02

Well, right now it's blue sky, which is why it's minus 20 outside.

SPEAKER_00

It is cold out today.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, holy my penis like a scared turtle. Always.

SPEAKER_00

But anyway, so we've had cold man two days now in the minus, I think what right now we're minus 16 out there. Feels like minus 23 or something right now.

SPEAKER_02

Well, let's talk about how stupid young people are for a minute. So these two young people, I don't know how young everybody's on gas, right? In their 30s, went on vacation, decided it's a good idea to save money, turn the heat right off. Oh no. The pipes. They burst.

SPEAKER_00

Of course they did.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so not just they burst, so they burst, and then we had to freeze. So then the whole complex, all four units frozen solid.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no.

SPEAKER_02

Everybody had to move out. The insurance probably doesn't cover it, the whole thing's ice.

SPEAKER_00

It's like ice. So, what what do you mean, like a complex? Like it was an apartment?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was like four, four, a complex of four, you know, one, two, three, four.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. So it becomes a lot of people. But you're thinking the other three had their heat on that it would never it wouldn't get below zero, but I guess it's so cold out. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So anyway, stupidity at its finest. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. We have the we have the programmable thermostats here. Like we have the baseboard. The baseboards are like the like only if the heat pumps.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, are those pipes or are those electric?

SPEAKER_00

They're electric. So it's not if we lose power, we're shit out of luck.

SPEAKER_02

You have the wood stuff.

SPEAKER_00

Um, but if the heat pumps just stopped working, we could use those. And those are set at five. So like if the heat, if the heat pumps just stopped working.

SPEAKER_02

So the water's still oh no, wait, five.

SPEAKER_00

So like if it got down to like if the house got down to five, the baseboard would kick in and make sure it doesn't go, it doesn't drop below, right? And freeze.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, it's it's nice in here today, but outside is. Well today it is.

SPEAKER_00

You have to go to the fire going in the heat pump.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's cold, man. It's cold. It is cold.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, well, the chickens are alright, the hens are alright. Yeah, well, they can handle it. They all they all came out this morning, they still laid. They had four eggs yesterday. There was one this morning. Well, the one this morning was frozen solid, and that would have moved. I was kidding, I would I didn't know. Oh no, I would have got it probably maybe half an hour, let's say, maybe an hour. That was it after they had made it. And it was like I picked it up, and it was like it felt like it was.

SPEAKER_02

Right? But here's the thing, I got a lot of respect for this. You runners are crazy. There's dudes and ladies out running, they're all got the bella clav on, the whole thing. But here's my thing, bro. You can't really warm up like to go right. You're looking for an injury, you know, like in that kind of weather. Like minus 16, minus 18. You better be doing something in your house before you just go, all right, let's go for a 10K. Then you're like, hmm, I'm all cramped up. I wouldn't want to do it. No, me neither. I wouldn't want to, but the runners, we know you're dedicated. I get it. I've been in a position before.

SPEAKER_00

Run inside though for the day. That's what I'm thinking, because I'm thinking, boy, you know I guess not everybody has a membership at a gym and has a treadmill.

SPEAKER_02

I'm aware of that too. But at the same time, older people like to walk and they don't want to miss a day. I get that.

SPEAKER_00

Uh I remember when we were young, like growing up in northern New Brunswick, you'd go out for runs in this, like this is what you did. But yeah, I guess it hurts. Like when you're breathing that kind of thing. Yes, man. I did it. Yeah, it's it hurts.

SPEAKER_02

I used to run hills in the winter down at Acadia, right? In the winter, like a foot of snow. Yeah, yeah. Nobody open but me. Barefoot uphill both ways. That's right. You think daddy's saying just go uphill both ways. Ah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I know I'm old because I get made fun of at work. They're like, oh, let me guess. My day, you know, we didn't have to do.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, we say, hey, to your people the same idea. You look at them and go like this. It's always my day. It's always my day. Always. Just let it go.

SPEAKER_00

That's right.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Or you know, I get another one for you if somebody's being real rude and they're bitchy and complaining. Go, I envy the people who've never met you. Yeah, yeah, that's right. That's a good one, too. You gotta be polite about it, right? Yeah. Yeah, it's all good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So we were talking about stupid people and frozen stuff. Now we watched this video on uh how dumb this gen. What's your what's the generation now that's coming in? What's it called? Generation one?

SPEAKER_00

The one that's coming in now.

SPEAKER_02

The one that are dumb that we just watched.

SPEAKER_00

Well, well, you watched the video on Gen Z and told me about it. Yeah, it's Gen Z.

SPEAKER_02

Right. So Gen Z.

SPEAKER_00

We're Gen X, and then there's then there's my. Well, don't touch us. We're we're smart. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So what it basically said was the phones and technology have ruined everybody, so they're making the SATs even easier.

SPEAKER_00

Which is crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Right? Yeah. So if you don't know, here's what they did. So the SAT used to be 750 words with 10 to 12 questions, inference questions about something that wasn't necessarily in the bulk of the essay. Now, are you ready, ladies and gentlemen? Demonstrate that you understood how you were thinking more than just not just descriptive, not going, oh, paragraph three, there it is, right? No. Now it's 54 characters, was it three sentences?

SPEAKER_00

75, 75, 75 words in a sentence or whatever, a couple of sentences.

SPEAKER_02

A couple of sentences. And one question, asking a descriptive something that's factual that's in the actual thing. I'm thinking, yeah, couldn't a four-year-old do that on an SAT?

SPEAKER_00

How many times was the word the in present in those sentences above?

SPEAKER_02

The what I thought it was Tahee.

SPEAKER_00

That's right.

Wrecked Snowplow And Winter Driving

SPEAKER_02

Tahee? The oh see, I'm confused. And I'm not even what's the generation again? Yeah. So anyway, this is what it's saying. Basically, it said around 2010, which 2006 the smartphone came out and it really got good around 2010 when they got the algorithm and right now we are graduating morons from things. And here's the thing though, it's really not their fault. It's not their fault because uh if you if you watch what this doctor was saying, he's saying that technology is good in some applications, but we are learned to to through biology, we learn faces, we learn to talk, we don't learn through a screen. And they proved it in how many was it? 80 countries, all the same. This is not just uh North America, it's everywhere. So young people. Well, hey, if you didn't know, Australia now just uh put the ban on the social media until you're like 16 or something. Yeah, but how are you gonna stop that, really? I mean okay. So back back in the day the kids are hiding drugs, now they're hiding burner phones. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, call our boycott. Kevin Garnett, I think he's got a pretty good Kevin. Why did you say Kevin Garnett?

SPEAKER_00

You did say Kevin Garnett.

SPEAKER_02

That's not who I meant. Why did I get Kevin Garnett in my hand? Good old Boston boy. But uh no, uh KD. KD was the burner phone champion. So call him. He's probably got 10,000 of those kids.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he'll be able to tell you how to get set up for a few.

SPEAKER_02

I never laughed sorry when I found that. I know, right? But anyway, yeah. So we just heard that the world is a mess and we don't know what to do. That's right. The school system is terrible because they don't care about uh how things are. Oh, good boy. You can't see that, but the cat's laying right in front of the tripod there. Oh, yeah. You just saw like the little bit of fursy kind of cover. Yeah. But uh anyway, that's Logan. Yep. Uh yeah. I mean, you know, if you work in the business, and I worked in the business for years, we talked about you could see as they came like over the years, they're getting worse and worse and worse, and attention span is terrible. But like we said on the video, we why is the system adapting to that?

SPEAKER_00

The issue is if they're demonstrating that the issue is that the knowledge is not being retained the same way as it was, why adapt the tests to promote that lack of uh you know uh even IQ is down to the option, right?

SPEAKER_01

Like it's an IQ is lower.

SPEAKER_00

Well, like I said to you, I said it's probably got to be something that I mean we can we're talking about SAT, so obviously we're talking about the US, but I mean it's that's not just it's a global.

SPEAKER_02

Well, they said 80 countries they did these these uh queries and tests.

SPEAKER_00

So it'd be interesting to see if all these other countries are changing their the way that their testing is being done as well. Because essentially, you know, like I said, if if you're looking at uh you know one country compared to the other, hey, well, we don't want to see our education statistics kind of declining in comparison to this other country. So let's change the test so that we skew the scores back up again so we don't look like our new technology.

SPEAKER_02

Well, there used to be teaching to the test in the US and people get caught for that, you know. Yeah, get fired. But what are you gonna do? Yeah, you know. So yeah, so that's the whole problem I have. Is like, well, if this is the problem, instead of trying to fix the problem, you just make it easier.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, then you just keep making things easier. So then, you know, the the new one now is um they don't want to have exams in high schools. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, so they don't want to have this is what I hear. They don't want to have exams in high school. And so then you ask, well, why? And they go, well, because it promotes anxiety. Hang on, Mike, what do you have to do in university, sir?

SPEAKER_00

You have to write exams.

SPEAKER_02

And how many hours are each exam using, Mike?

SPEAKER_00

Uh, two hours, three hours.

SPEAKER_02

Two to three hours long. So you've never written an exam in your life in high school. Then you go into uh some degree underwater basket weaving at St. Mary's, and you get you gotta write your your three-hour exam. And I'm sure your anxiety will not be there at all.

SPEAKER_00

Listen, like anxiety, stress, like it's all real. We get it. It's real. We all deal with our own anxiety.

SPEAKER_02

But you can't pretend it's not there.

SPEAKER_00

But a little bit of stress and a little bit of anxiety is actually.

SPEAKER_02

Helps you, correct. Makes you a better person. Same with characters.

SPEAKER_00

Same with pain, why they always say like pain is actually like a easy now, easy.

SPEAKER_02

What are we going with this one?

SPEAKER_00

Well, pain actually like shows you when something hurts, when something's wrong, when you need to like kind of back off. You need to do some pain as an indicator of something, right? You numb yourself to that pain, well then you run the risk of like you know, injury. If you actually start kind of, you know, uh numbing yourself to all this stuff, well then you know, anyway. Yeah, it's it's a problem. It's a problem, right?

SPEAKER_02

It's a problem. We're we're graduating people that are not bright.

SPEAKER_00

And I get it. The answers are always gonna be at your fingertips with the way the technology, right?

SPEAKER_02

So I heard they're not even doing proper cursive writing anymore because you don't have to.

SPEAKER_00

Which is crazy, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, isn't it still good to be dexterous with your hands?

SPEAKER_00

I think so. I don't know. I listen, I did I did all that, and you can't you can't make out my chicken scratches at all. Well, I'm horrible.

SPEAKER_02

I I do I do a combination of cursive and printing with a left-handed lean on it. It's just that's brutal. Yeah. Sometimes I'm like, Yeah.

unknown

I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Oh man, there's been times where I've looked at my own stuff, I can't read it. I've gone back to like my old like notes or whatever to try to read something like, oh man, I don't even know what I was saying here. No idea, and I know the topic about it. I have no idea what that is. Yeah. So uh You should have been doctors. You ever see doctors' handwriting? When they break up everything, it's horrible.

SPEAKER_02

And somehow the pharmacist can read it. I know, right? Yeah, I know it's uh 26 oxygen, good. What? Like, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So it's like how the fuck did you just read that? I cannot make that out. And you know what, though? I think there's a like uh I'm gonna I'm gonna go out on the limb here and say there's some letters in there somewhere. Yeah, but it's not, it's just like this. And then a 25 milligram. Just a bunch of scribbles, yeah, squiggly lines, but yeah, somebody can make it out. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So the pharmacist gift, have a gift.

Deep Freeze, Bursting Pipes, And Cold‑Weather Routines

SPEAKER_00

You know what's interesting, just uh spitball in here. No, but uh, you know, do you remember when we were young, they told you practice your practice your signature. What does your signature look like? So what do people's signatures look like now if they're not learning a cursive and they're just like oh well, you know what?

SPEAKER_02

I'll answer that for you. Taught at college university level for nine or fourteen years.

SPEAKER_00

Sure.

SPEAKER_02

They write block letters.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, that's what I was asking.

SPEAKER_02

So signature is block letters. Now, here's the thing though, I'm gonna have to put a caveat on this. Um a lot of the students I taught, Japanese, Korean, uh Chinese, so their letters are block anyway. Right, sure. So I can understand that. And then every once in a while you get a uh a kid from India whose dad might be a doctor, because a lot of rich kids come to that uni where I was uh from all over the world. But and then some of these kids, I know one for sure, I was like, whoo, look at that. Holy, that's a heck of a single. Yeah, my dad taught me that one. I'm like, oh okay. Oh yeah, it's pretty fancy, right? Yeah, yeah. But yeah, so it is what it is. So it's funny, we're just talking about India. This is funny. So there was a theft of a necklace in India, and before the cops got there, the guy swallows a necklace.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, sure.

SPEAKER_02

I don't have, I don't have it. The lady goes, I watched you swallow it. He goes, No, they took an x-ray, sure enough, it's in his stomach. Oh, yeah. So they gave him an enema, which you probably enjoyed. Sure. Did not work. So you know how they got it out of them? I this is what the question was when I watched the video, so I'm gonna ask you, how do you how do you think they got out of them? Well, the first thing I thought is okay, they gave him uh is that Epic cat or whatever the stuff that makes you throw up.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, yeah, whatever. Like, nope, nope. They went up the other way?

SPEAKER_02

Nope. This is in this is in India, by the way. Cut them open. Indian police. Nope, nope, but that's a good good thinking.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

They fed them 40 bananas.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_02

40 bananas over a period of a day, and then shit. Here's the best part. After he shit out the necklace, they made him clean it and disaffect it and then give it back to the police. I thought that was hilarious. That's good. Because imagine the police go, I'm not touching it. You gonna touch it? I'm not touching that. Hey, buddy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, where's my gloves?

SPEAKER_02

No gloves, pal. Yeah, squishy banana.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, gross big.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah. Well, here's the thing, though. I can't believe it's the cops picked him up because it could have gone, I'm he swallowed it. No, I didn't. Yeah. And they actually took him and x-rayed him. Yeah. Good on you, police man. Good on you, yeah. Police persons. I don't know if it was a man or not. Yeah. Yeah. Good on you. But yeah, that's pretty crazy.

SPEAKER_00

That's funny, bananas, eh? Yeah. Yeah, I know. I didn't even think of that, right? Bananas, what? What they used to give over in uh New Zealand when we lived over there was called Kiwi Crush. It was just like crushed up Kiwi, like in actually. Well, it's fiber. It's a fiber supplement. Oh, yeah. Kiwis are so good.

SPEAKER_02

But here you can't afford them. We need another job.

SPEAKER_00

So that's what that anyway. That's what they used to give in the hospitals. They gave something called Kiwi Crush, and that's uh it was a good kiwi. Yeah. Fiber supplement. Anyway.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, anyway. Yeah. Um, okay, you want to talk about our our friend Ryan Wedding? Oh, I don't really want to talk about him, but I saw He's really not our friend anymore because he got caught. We've been talking about this guy for a month or more. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_00

What did I say about a month ago? I said you watch remind the people. When the news, when the news starts going in an unfavorable way towards the administration, all of a sudden they're going to announce that they arrested Ryan Wedding. And sure enough, but you know what? Two days ago? Yeah, I know, but see, but because of the bloody Minnesota shooting, because of you know Deflect, deflect. Because of the uh uh the comments made about how like all our all the NATO allies like didn't go to the front line of the war in Afghanistan and how that upset everybody, it just didn't work, right? Like so they're not even really talking about Ryan Wedding right now, even though they paraded him out there. They had the picture of him in handcuffs, being taken off a plane. And by the way, he got arrested in Mexico City, and like within a day he was in the U.S. that what about extradition people? What what what the hell's going on there? Isn't there a process? But I guess not. Anyway.

SPEAKER_02

Juan Carlos just drove him across the border. Here you go, Uncle Trumpy. Here you go. Yours.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Trump's like, we're too busy for this shit. Pardon. Yeah. Because they were trying to remember they were trying to spell. Wait a minute. He's Canadian. He's Canadian. Yeah, I mean, he's not going to Trump. He's coming to Carneyland. Why did I say Trump?

SPEAKER_00

He's not going. No, he's not coming here. He's going, he's in the US. It's in the U.S. Yeah, the U.S. to put him on the FBI's most wanted list, right? It's the U.S. So they worked with Canadian authorities. Wait a minute.

SPEAKER_02

Why wasn't he on the Cesus list for Canada? What's wrong with Canada? We can't catch a criminal.

SPEAKER_00

Well, the drugs aren't coming into Canada, apparently.

SPEAKER_02

Good point, except for that heroin shit. That's right, yeah. Right, but yeah, okay. Anyway.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's he'd probably get off.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's what I mean.

SPEAKER_02

What do they get him on?

SPEAKER_00

Like they I I like again, they probably had him in custody for a little while and they just like decided.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, he's in the country club down there playing shuffleboard with some old ladies. That's right, anyway. Oh, holy smokes.

SPEAKER_00

Remember they were trying to paint him as the next as the next Escobar or whatever, right?

SPEAKER_02

Right. And then the Mexicans are like, no, he's not that. Yeah, you can take him. He's yeah, you have him. We got we got what we need. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So anyway, so So anyway, that's the you know, every now and then it'd be nice if there's some like good positive. Like, I mean, the Ethan Hawk one, I mean, it's not really a great positive story, but at least it's like a better story than just all the negativity that's out there right now.

SPEAKER_02

There's so much garbage in the US. I mean, we we don't have too much going on up here in all Canada, but yeah, you know, it is what it is.

SPEAKER_00

So except for the hundred percent terrorists that might be coming our way.

SPEAKER_02

Terrorists? What?

SPEAKER_00

Terrorists.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, terrorists.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That's what uh what what what did uh Uncle Donnie say? He said uh if uh Canada does that, he's putting hundred percent.

SPEAKER_00

If Canada does a uh trade deal with China, which they're going to.

SPEAKER_02

If it's already probably done already.

SPEAKER_00

But that's what I said. They didn't have a trade deal, they just they just like reduced tariff reciprocal tariffs on each other's to help each other out in a time when our you know economy's taking a hit, and so is theirs.

SPEAKER_02

Everybody's is right.

Gen Z, Easier SATs, And Falling Standards

SPEAKER_00

So it's like so they didn't they didn't cut a trade deal, they just reduced tariffs. Is that my understanding of it? Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know. I don't know this.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't read the whole thing, but I think you're on it. If we're way off, we apologize. Yeah, our guy will fix it because he's that good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, I think I think you're on it.

SPEAKER_00

But it's more so that I think, you know, like I told you, Carney went out and gave that really good, you know, uh, well-delivered speech out that uh the economic, the World Economic Forum or whatever it is, with all the global elites out there, and and uh through inference, well, not even through inference, you know. I mean, everybody knew what he was what he was saying, but you know, if you actually go watch the speed, it's pretty pretty subdued and pretty laid back. He's calm, dude. He's not he's not like really going after like one country in particular, but the media went, Kearney attacks Trump, Kearney does this, Kearney does that. And like, of course, like you know, Trump's not watching the floody speech. He's seeing all the news headlines that say Kearney, you know, was like calling out the US, calling out bullies, calling out this. And so now it went from I think the original response to the fact that Canada and China were talking was, yeah, they should do that. Now it's like if you do it, here comes a hundred percent tarot. Which, by the way, from everything I read, isn't there's no benefit whatsoever in putting 100% toss. Well, you know what he is.

SPEAKER_02

Remember, he's a part comedian too. He's just shooting off of the what did they say, Mike? Throwing something at the wall, see if it'll stick or clickbait on his uh truth social. Yeah, truth social. Whatever, right? Him and his five buddies are on there. Yeah, but yeah, anyway, so that's that. See you later, Uncle Donnie. Good luck with that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But uh yeah, all right, so on to the all-star game. LeBron, our boy here. Oh, poor LeBron.

SPEAKER_00

First time 20 years?

SPEAKER_02

20 years. First time.

SPEAKER_00

He didn't get voted in his first year, I don't think, right? Uh uh Correct. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Neither did Kobe Bryant, but yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So Colby barely played his first year, right? Correct, also. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I don't think I think LeBron might have made the all-star game as an as a game.

SPEAKER_02

Just for the record, by the way, people think Kobe Bryant was a number one pick, was not 13.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, god, no. Yeah, not even close. Picked up by the Hornets and then traded in. And then traded, yeah. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

For Vladdy Divaj.

SPEAKER_02

That's right. Yeah. That's right. Good old Vladdy. I like that guy, man. Plays hard.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway, so yeah, no, it's uh crazy.

SPEAKER_02

It's uh well, you and I both voted for Bronny, so if you guys are asking who got the two votes.

SPEAKER_00

Um but it is crazy because for the first, you know, not only I don't know if maybe it's because he was injured a lot in the first year, but is obviously his popularity's dropped that much that the fans carry him through because the fans always carried him through, right?

SPEAKER_02

Always did. But like I said, the all-star games in LA. He is definitely going to play. So don't think he's not gonna be there.

SPEAKER_00

So, first off, right, the coaches are gonna vote him in because they usually reward like iconic players later in the crew. Are you kidding me? The second thing is that his stats are still all-star caliber stats.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, like 23, 7, and something.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but he's yeah, he's still doing, he's still actually putting up really good numbers at 41 years old, by the way, year 23 or whatever the fuck it is.

SPEAKER_02

You know, on like we're LeBron friends, yeah, we okay, but he really doesn't get what he does, like for how well he's doing. Because you look at everybody else, it's not even close.

SPEAKER_00

But that's the thing, is that you'll see the stats come out there. The oldest, oldest, you know, uh person to ever do this, oldest person to ever do this, like most I, you know, da-da-da. But people are like, you know, when say Vince Carter would did something spectacular when he was in, you know, when he was 41, people are like, look what Vince just did. LeBron does it, it's like, oh, LeBron should have passed. Oh, LeBron should have doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_02

Well, not only that, LeBron does it so consistently, everybody keeps forgetting how good it is.

SPEAKER_00

I know, right?

SPEAKER_02

Right? You know, I don't know. But yeah, anyway, so that that's interesting. It is, yeah. But I mean, it's he's at the end of his well.

SPEAKER_00

We'll all agree he's not top five in the league anymore. No, no, no. You know what I mean? He's definitely not anymore. But and this will be the first year, I think. Because even last year, there might have been a case that he still might have been one of the top five. Oh, he played real well last year. This year he just doesn't, he's just it seems like it's finally cut out with him a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

Like I don't know what LeBron says in his trash talk, but here's what I would do. LeBron, if you're listening, we know you're so we know you watch this because we've heard you talk about it on yours.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So we'll let that slide this time. Everybody says to him, oh, you know, the trash talk. Okay, first of all, he's been in the league for 20 years. If he was 18, 19, 20, he ain't gonna trash talk, and he's gonna slap you in the face and he's gonna stuff the ball down your throat the whole game. But if I was LeBron now, I'd just go, I'm an old man. You you should be able to beat me. You should be able to beat me. Just lean into it. Lean into it, go, I'm an old man. And then every once in a while, you dunk in your head and go, Yeah, what about that young fella?

SPEAKER_00

I did see our favorite guy that we want to love and just can't stand is uh Dylan there. Came up and said uh Dylan Brooks. He came up and he said, he goes, I would never have talked like trash to Miami LeBron.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, there you go.

SPEAKER_00

He flat out said it just recently. But I would never have said a word to Miami LeBron, right? It's just LA LeBron's not the same player. And it doesn't, he's he's right, he's not.

SPEAKER_02

But let's be honest. If you're a young man, you come into the league and you know you dunk over LeBron, just shut your mouth. Yeah. Because he's old, he's your dad. He's 41. You just dunked on your father. You're right.

SPEAKER_00

And you bang, you bang on, you flat out said it. You would not have been able to do that to to Miami LeBron or young Cleveland LeBron, or even the the second Cleveland LeBron.

SPEAKER_01

I'll even go five years ago, LeBron.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Remember, he's been with the Lakers for eight years now. Yeah, that's crazy. Isn't that crazy?

SPEAKER_02

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And remember this too. He's playing 20 regular seasons, but it's equivalent to like 23. Yeah. Or whatever it is, because of all the playoffs.

SPEAKER_00

11 years total in Cleveland, four in Miami, right? And then now eight in LA. That's 23 years. Isn't that crazy?

unknown

That's a banana. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You wouldn't think that he's been, it doesn't feel like he's been in LA for eight years.

SPEAKER_02

No, it sure doesn't. But that COVID screwed us all up, right? That was like, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

COVID times.

SPEAKER_00

Craziness. But anyway, but you know what? And then on top of all that, we said we said it earlier, maybe he didn't get the votes because he was injured. But still at 41, like he's still the injuries are still not setting him out for a whole year. Like we're seeing like some of these other guys, right?

SPEAKER_02

Like, yeah, so you want to talk about injuries? All right. Let's go. First of all, we'll go with uh Jimmy Butler's gone. ACL, I'm pretty sure. Was it ACL? ACL, yeah. He's gone. Steven Adams is out with something. I saw him get carried off. Uh Giannis is out. He is a Giannis is a calf thing. Calf or foot strain.

SPEAKER_00

I can't remember if it was four to six games or four to six weeks. I think it might just be games because four to six weeks would be a long time.

SPEAKER_02

That's a long time. But John Morant has a pretty serious one, though. He's got what's called a UCL sprain. Um, people, if you don't know what that is, that's a thick uh uh tissue. I better get this right. I'm gonna look real stupid. It's a thick tissue that attaches your uh bottom part of your arm, or you're gonna go basic. Bottom part of your arm to top part of your arm. It happens for anybody who does like overhead athletes, so it's happened to him. Um basically you've torn or stretched that uh skin already.

SPEAKER_00

Too many gun signs.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. That's crazy that's funny. Well done. I never even thought of that. Yeah, yeah. Somebody shooting off his pistols in the air. Yeah, it happens to a lot of athletes with overhead uh pitchers in particular. Obviously, you're an idiot. That's great.

SPEAKER_00

Ever see that shirt? It's a cat and it's got the guns that says pew pew matafuck. Yeah, it's like that's a put it up here. I always crack, I always laugh at that one if you can find it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if you can find it, put it up. There's another one too. It's got a crone that says fuck up. Yeah, yeah, I've seen that one before. Yeah, it's pretty funny, too. But anyway, you can't wear those around. No, but so we're going back to all the too many injuries, man.

SPEAKER_00

Still a lot of injuries, man. Way too many of them.

SPEAKER_02

Well, now boy, Austri has been out for how long? One of the Lakers can't. We lost 25 points a game right there.

SPEAKER_00

I think he's coming back soon, but well, we talked, we talked about the Lakers and their their issues last time with when their offense, when they get Austin back, their offense is not going to be a problem. It's their defense, right?

SPEAKER_02

So no, I did see LeBron throw a couple of those uh full court passes to Aiden there. So it's still works.

SPEAKER_00

What did you send me the other day? The uh the Luca Pylon thing. Was that uh I made that. You made that. I made that because I was I was kind of like laughing at that. I was like, it sounded like AI, but I was like, hey, we've been saying that that he's a pylon.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Well I wrote the script road comb. I wrote the script and then AI Mary read it for us. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he's doing this one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

With the pylon.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, that's right.

SPEAKER_02

I thought it was pretty funny. That's why I did it. I know you laughed. I did laugh.

SPEAKER_00

I thought it was funny because I was like, oh, look at that. It is funny.

Signatures, Handwriting, And A Banana Justice Story

SPEAKER_02

That's why I did it, because it's true. They called him a road comb. I called him a pylon before you did. So shut up, Kamar. Uh what's his name? Kendrick? No, Kendrick Perkinson. Kendrick Perkins. I was gonna say Kendrick Lamar.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, whatever. But I was gonna say this about the injuries. Um, go ahead. Uh amazing. So Jason Tatum's been out with the ACL as well. I think for him.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But they like there's videos out of him dunking and doing all this stuff already. So he might be back this season, which is crazy because yeah. What?

SPEAKER_02

So again, like it's kind of like Okay, how bad was his ACL challenge?

SPEAKER_00

But the thing is, is like, well, that's what I mean. Sports science just get better and better and better. Do you want like Boston is second in the East? Jalen Brown is doing a don't bring him back yet.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, don't bring him back.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. Uh if there's no need for him to come back, don't come back. You don't need it. Like, don't come back too early because you've seen it happen so many times. Look at uh, I mean, we'll talk about this in a second, but you know, prime example of somebody getting injured and and and like screwing up his career because maybe he didn't do the right thing.

SPEAKER_02

Clay Thompson.

SPEAKER_00

Derek Rose.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that's another one. Clay Thompson, too, though.

SPEAKER_00

I was gonna say Clay Thompson.

SPEAKER_02

Well, Clay Thompson also was like Well, remember, he he did this one, then he favored it so much, and this one blew. Yeah. And then, yeah, so it's like, okay, so Derek Rose ruined his career.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Derek Rose. Ruined his whole life. If if if anybody, any of you younger folks out there don't know how good Derek Rose is, you need to go back and see. That year that Derek Rose won MVP. I mean, I'm still as a LeBron fan, I still think like that like, yes, Derek Rose had a good year, but LeBron had a crazy year that year. Uh same with how you could argue that like, you know, when Steve Nash won one of those teams, Shaq should have got one of them. There's ones where Kobe Kobe should have got MVP more than he did. Like, there's all kinds of stuff. But anyway, point being is that Derek Rose uh was. was was an incredible player and and and so uh was it last night or two nights ago they they raised his uh raised his uh number into the rafters right he's up there now with he's up there with Scotty and Michael and yeah number one is it Jerry Sloan and Bob Love I think is the other guy's name I can't remember anyway yeah like there's only five Derek Rose is now the fifth jersey to go up in the Chicago Bulls rafter so where is Derek Rose right now he's retired yeah but where where did he be what was his last team he played with oh I don't know he played New York he played with Minnesota trying to think who was the last I can't sorry Derek can't even remember bro no I can't remember a journeyman at the end right like but he still had like outbursts here and there but I mean he was definitely his whole game was and so we always we've talked about this before with John Morant is his game reminds you a lot of Derrick Rose's game how explosive he was but he's only like but that kind of but that kind of like movement and and stress on the body can be you know and like let's look at this year like we're seeing it already like Morant's been out like two.

SPEAKER_02

But he it's here not legs but yeah but still that that's a bad injury people if you don't know.

Ryan “Wedding” Arrest And Media Distraction

SPEAKER_00

Yeah but he's been out with other injuries to the legs and stuff as well right so which might be the reasons why he doesn't do the dunk contest even though we like to see him in there right I saw something I was like I was like there's no way this is real but it was like one of those things that said uh just just so that he can take part in the all-star weekend LeBron's LeBron's gonna get enter the dunk contest finally or something like that because he didn't get voted. That'd be funny right he should do that I'd pay to see that he definitely wouldn't win but well yeah if that little white boy shows up again you know what's funny though is that everybody always wanted LeBron to be in the dunk hot and the guy could do some pretty impressive power dunks though the power dunks right um you know he wasn't he didn't have a lot of flash like yeah he could do a windmill but it wasn't like a Vince Carter windmill no or a Zach Levine uh Levine or a you know uh yeah you could throw down like a you know a a a double pump reverse Dominique Wilkins yeah but it wasn't like a Mac McClung kind of like reverse you know what I mean like it's just yeah it's uh listen he's probably the best in-game dunker one of the best in-game dunkers I've ever seen but well everybody gets out of the way when you're coming downhill bro still people still get out of the way yeah right so power and height sure but creativity also is required right and I don't know if he would have if he would have been able to we were just talking about that off camera and I was saying that if you watch the college dunk contest they're really good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah they're actually really good.

SPEAKER_00

Well I think LeBron won a high school one right but it could probably because he could have a Gemini what's wrong with his boys what's wrong with you guys can't be dunk a ball I know but every well what the one thing everybody wanted to see was Ja versus Zion. Right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah Zion's never been either no right because well Zion's been hurt he never plays right he's played like in the last five years one season total yeah like I don't mean one full season I mean one season add them all together yeah crazy yeah right yeah just like somebody asked me the other day I said do you have enough money for retirement I go yeah if I die Tuesday yeah yeah that's right it's the same idea that's not true Thursday probably make it yeah so oh and our boy KD just passed Dirk Dirk Navitsky he'll pass so yeah yeah you gotta look at it now because he's if he goes place another year he's gonna pass a couple more dudes well so next up on the list is Jordan oh shit Ron then Kareem then Carl Malone then Kobe Jordan and then now KD KD but it's pretty I don't think he can catch Jordan then oh he can catch Jordan he might pass here oh yeah he's only a few hundred points behind Jordan okay okay all right I didn't look at that list uh carefully enough I was probably looking at the top ones going nobody's catching that no he's uh he's definitely he can definitely catch Jordan okay uh probably pass probably even pass Kobe no don't say he won't catch Kareem or LeBron no you have to play I don't I don't think he's I don't think he can catch Malone but he so I'm wondering if KD's KD's main goal right now is getting top five scoring and then that might be the yeah yeah now KD loves balling right like that's one thing they always say about KD is that you know he's you know not great in interviews he's not great if he goes at people he doesn't give a shit but like he he's still single but he just loves to play basketball and that's the the thing I remember from him the most ever other than the burner phone thing going after teenagers bad mouth that was hilarious where to go KD I I still think that's funny. Yeah it is still funny right thing I is like when they asked him he was very smug about it too like a lady reporter asked him said so you know when did you know you're going to the going to the NBA goes to grade six yeah when I was taller than everybody's like what she's like yeah yeah yeah I knew it oh okay I mean we're what is he seven feet right he says he's not saying seven feet they say he's not he says he's no no no they say seven feet but he says he's not he says he's like I don't know what he says he is six ten six ten yeah but I don't think so he's taller than everybody's the same his arms right longer than crazy it's a cheat mode they always said Katie's a cheat mode right well he's another guy you just you can't stop him unless he's off yeah it's like Wimby good luck yeah exactly right yeah yeah anyway love watch that kind the one thing the one thing people can like maybe body up Wemby a little bit because he's like a he's a stick man but he's as he gets as he gets a little older and gets a bit stronger he's gonna be well it was a joke he's already a problem you put on 30 pounds you're like where well so this is we go back to the All-Star for a second I was telling you this uh he's in he's a starter he got voted in he tied was tied with Anthony Edwards and I know our boy Ant and and he he got in and Edwards isn't so Edward Edwards is like he must be pissed 100% he'd be pissed right there must be I don't know what their contracts but sometimes these contracts oh they get money oh yeah 100% right they have things in there for getting off you make all uh all NBA that's why you saw that idiot that time take his own rebound and throw it up against the rim again yeah yeah to get rebounds to get his bonus and he never played another game ever ever in the NBA I can't even think of his name we're not gonna say it then I can't remember who you're talking about I know what you're talking about though he threw it off his own backboard to get the rebound or whatever get the bonus yeah right then the coach pulled him off immediately and he never played anywhere in the NBA ever again but here's what's weird about that if that was the NFL I've seen this happen. Gronkowski came up and he goes I need one more catch he goes yeah I know he goes do what you got to do catch it million bucks no celebrating and he goes steak standards on me boys on the sidelines. Well why wouldn't you though we needed one more catch for a million bucks in this contract and they made sure they got him the ball yeah well why wouldn't you I would want that that's what you do for your friends and you're like fucking you know like but 30 catches away well whatever if you want right but my point to that is is that somebody had to throw the ball Gronk had to catch it this guy took his own and then threw it back up to get a rebound. That's right. Yeah tell your boys I need one more rebound they'll they'll do it for you like yeah yeah yeah go message yeah yeah that's right right come on man right so yeah um so we're just waiting for the snow to come in it doesn't look like it's coming but that's about all for us today.

SPEAKER_01

It's coming tonight. It's coming we're gonna be shoveling we'll be out shoveling tomorrow.

SPEAKER_00

I feel bad for those people that didn't shovel with the last snow because if they didn't that's just a hard crusty icy layer now that's going to be buried underneath all this snow that we're getting over the next couple of years.

Tariffs, China, And Political Rhetoric

SPEAKER_02

And I was just praising you about how clean your driveway is I was like how did you do that with a toothbrush? Yeah yeah anyway it's wood oh well you know look we went out and we shoveled and then it melted enough right that's what you know if you shovel it down yeah but like I said look at everybody else around you nobody else has like they all have snow on their driveway all right so that's it for us today on uh you would think so once again you can catch us on uh muscle in fiction uh my actual channel there and uh you can catch on Spotify everything Buzzsprout does or is audio and video for both or either or whatever you want and uh we cover everything I think so we got anything missed anything no the cats stayed yeah cats are slept through the whole thing and uh they're growing and uh what you don't know is he was on top of the scene there he was on the mantle earlier. So we didn't know if he was going to sleep up there or not but uh all good today.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. All right.

SPEAKER_02

We'll see you next time and peace.
