YOU WOOD THINK?
From Conspiracy Files To Curling Fights: What Really Happened This Week
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A leaked list, a curling feud, and a dunk contest that begged for a reboot—this week had everything but easy answers. We open with the renewed spotlight on the Epstein files, cutting through the noise about who’s “on the list,” what that actually signals, and why context and redactions matter. Not every mention equals guilt, yet it’s impossible to ignore how power shields itself while asking the rest of us to “move on.” That tension—between truth and narrative—sets the tone for the hour.
Then the conversation turns to a heartbreaking school shooting in British Columbia. We talk about grief in small communities, the long shadow these events cast, and the complex intersection of mental health, medication, and oversight for young people. The goal isn’t hot takes; it’s care, prevention, and accountability that lasts longer than a news cycle. When headlines fade, survivors still need therapy, schools still need resources, and families still need answers.
Sports didn’t exactly offer relief. The Olympics delivered a mix of brilliance and blowback: a moguls win, speed-skating contact that stirred debate, a disqualified Ukrainian helmet memorial called “political,” and banned wax violations that showed how tech and rules collide. Curling’s mic’d-up confrontation—accusations of a double touch and a very public response—sparked a debate about sportsmanship versus gamesmanship. Meanwhile, NBA All-Star weekend reminded us why the three-point contest thrives and the dunk contest stalls: missed attempts, light theatrics, and no star power. We get into LeBron’s latest milestone, MVP narratives, load management scrutiny, and how incentives, taxes, and TV windows shape what fans actually see.
If you want a show that connects the dots—media framing to public trust, tragedy to reform, rules to fairness—pull up a chair. We’re here for hard questions, not easy scripts. If this resonated, tap follow, share with a friend, and drop a rating to help more curious listeners find us.
You Wood Think? Bobby and Mikey D
Hey everybody, welcome back to You Would Think with Bobby D and Mikey D.
SPEAKER_01:And Oh, Logan, yeah. Logan the cat. I think you can see you might think you can see him. I think you can see his ears popping up in the camera.
SPEAKER_04:So we'll see how that goes. Yeah. So uh turns out uh we're not on the Epstein list. I looked, our names didn't show up. Yeah, well you know whose name did show up?
SPEAKER_00:Who's that?
SPEAKER_04:Joe Rogan. Oh, but yeah, I heard Rogan say that.
SPEAKER_01:I heard he said they couldn't.
SPEAKER_03:Of course they're gonna throw that at the end on the Epstein list.
SPEAKER_01:Well, that and that's you know, that's fine, I guess, right? Because like he said they trying to con they were trying to like make a connection between them and Rogan.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, he's like, Yeah, I need to hook up to you and Rogan's. I'm not wanting anything to do with your piece of human garbage.
SPEAKER_04:So he's like, I didn't go anywhere. He said, they hit me up, I wanted nothing to do with it, I shut it down instantly.
SPEAKER_01:Well, I saw something they said John Stewart's name is in the list in the in the Epstein files as well. Oh, there's all kinds of people. Yeah, but it but it's like in reference to uh I'd have to I'd have to look back at it again, but it was something like they were talking about doing some sort of show, and they said, you know, you need somebody like a John Stewart, like somebody like that, and that's how his name was.
SPEAKER_04:But that's my point to all this is like just because your name's in it doesn't mean you did something wrong. Yes, right? But we know a couple people that did do something wrong. There's all kinds of them. The sheikh from was it Saudi Arabia or whatever, you know, sent a torture video.
SPEAKER_00:Jesus.
SPEAKER_04:Right? I've never told you this story. When I was in hmm, is it Kuwait or UE? I'm gonna say Kuwait. When I was in Kuwait, there was a whole controversy over a gentleman that was so this okay, so this is a real story. So this this is how it happened. And we we read it, and then the videos they took the videos down off the internet. So um basically, this Indian dude from India, right, is driving a rice truck, you know, all packed full of rice. And so he he takes it to the the sheikh's place, and the sheikh says, Hey, we're missing rice, you ripped me off. Okay, it's like, well, I didn't pack the truck, I just drove it here. They drag him out of the truck, they start beating them. Okay, now not just beating them, they got a stick with nails in it, beating him. Right. Okay, yeah. Then the guy throws salt on them. Okay, this is all in video. This is cops doing this, okay?
SPEAKER_00:Yep.
SPEAKER_04:Then they drive over him with their Range Rovers. Okay, so they look into you know, the uh the whatever the uh affiliation is that looks into if there's any human rights violations, that they look into that and go, nope, everything's good. Yeah, so that's what happens in Kuwait in some of those Middle Eastern countries. That really happened. And I watched the video, it was unbelievable. Yeah, dude, like they're beating this guy, kicking him, then hitting him with the thing with the nails, and they drove over him trying to kill him, and he lived.
SPEAKER_01:That's crazy, man.
SPEAKER_04:Absolutely nuts.
SPEAKER_01:And said there's no nothing, nothing to see here, right?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, the police investigation. No, everything was good, but totally above board. Yeah, right. Crazy. So I'm like, wait a minute. Yeah, what are the what are the laws in there?
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, no doubt, eh?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, anyway, I know what the laws are. You gotta be careful over there, but yeah. So this Epstein thing is just bananas, like every thing you talk about, it's there. Look at this guy's in it, he's in it, he did this, and he did that. The problem I have with it is all the people that talked about Pizzagate, oh, that's fake. Well, now we know it's real. So Pizzagate is in fact a pedophilia ring in that thing that's laid out in the in the files. Then you hear this jerky and grape soda and pizza is referring to kids. Like we're gonna go have something like disgusting, man.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I mean these people are just well, I mean, and I that's that's why it's it's not going away. It's like it's uh you know, it's not gonna go away. A bunch of rich people that did a lot of rich, rich, shitty, shitty, shitty things. They don't want their name up there, you know, and uh I don't know. I mean Well, that's why I mean that's why the media, I think, you know, like you know, the the the administration right now is saying you guys need to get over it, you need to stop talking about this. And it's like, no, like you know, it's not you know, it's not just about your president there, right? It's not. There's all kinds of people in there that did some really things.
SPEAKER_04:The last person you need to worry about. He's not the issue.
SPEAKER_01:Well, I think, and maybe we talked about this last week, I can't remember, but uh everywhere else in the world, anybody that had ties or most people ties to to Epstein have either like either, yeah, well, have gone to jail or have like you know, stepped away from their post and vanished, like you know what I mean? Like the only ones that have it?
SPEAKER_04:U.S.
SPEAKER_01:In the US, nobody's nothing's happening in the US.
SPEAKER_04:It's funny how there's no Canadians on the list, huh? Mark Carney went over there once or twice. Nope, it wasn't me. Yeah, anyway, yeah, that's crazy, right? Only the US. But that's because they're not telling anybody who it was. So they redacted the names of the people who did it, not the names of the victims, huh? Well, you know what I mean? Yeah, they they cross out the bad people. Yeah, and they're like, you can't do that.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, we're protecting people. Yeah, well, why are you doing that? And we get it again, because in certain instances, like we said, the Jon Stewart, the Joe Rogan instance, your name's in the files. And you know, I think the argument is that the moment people realize your name's in the files, they're just not gonna believe what you say, right?
SPEAKER_04:Well, it's exonerated though, both of those guys, right?
SPEAKER_01:So yeah, read them tighter. Yeah, yeah. It's just I don't know. But you're never gonna see the full like bit of files. You're only gonna see things cut and pasted, like whatever narrative they're pushing. But regardless, there's a lot of names in there that need to be brought forward, and these people need to be held to account, and they're not above the law.
SPEAKER_04:Well, I I saw uh uh a Twitter um thing because I was you know, I went deep into this. I can't remember her name. This lady came out in 2020 and said, These are the people that are doing this, Pizza Gates real, and everybody's like, You're a crazy woman, but now look at her now. She's 100% correct. But the question I had is how did she know back then? Like somebody must have told somebody.
SPEAKER_01:Go back how many years go back into the um you know the the the Academy Awards or wherever, and they you know, oh don't leave don't leave your date alone with Harvey Weinstein tonight. Everybody laughs about it. Like this was years ago before all this. Even though it was real, right? So everybody knew it was like a it was not a well-kept secret.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, I like when Ricky Gervaise does it.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, yeah, Ricky Gervais.
SPEAKER_04:He comes out and he's like, I know you're political, and you're just shut up. Nobody cares. Yeah, well, Epstein's your friend, we know that. He's your friend.
SPEAKER_01:I think he's called them a bunch of sexual sexual deviant things.
SPEAKER_03:Oh, he's called them all kinds of, and they keep calling him back.
SPEAKER_01:I know, right?
SPEAKER_03:He's like, he's your friend, shut up. Like he tells him straight up, get up here, get your trophy, don't make a political statement, and fuck off.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_03:He goes, You you you have nothing to do with politics. We don't want to hear your rant. Shut your mouth, take your thing, and go home.
SPEAKER_01:Well, it's I mean, it's everybody's a lot entitled to their opinion. You gotta understand the platform that you're using, right? Yeah, I don't know. I think it's hilarious, but yeah, it's the same with like I don't agree with when they, you know, they told LeBron to shut up and dribble. What? Because he's an athlete, he can't have an opinion on things. Yeah, yeah. He's not a politician, but he's entitled to his opinion on things, man. Jesus. He's also entitled, but yeah. So hey man, if we weren't entitled to our opinion, we wouldn't be doing this right here.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, that's right. Right? Yeah. Well, James Vanderbeek saw the whole thing, you know. Yeah, we were talking about it yesterday. 40, what was he, Mike? 48. I got it written down here. 48, yeah. 48 years old, colon cancer, got him, man. Yeah, he looked uh real bad at the end there.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, well, I showed you that that the picture from that uh that reunion they were supposed to do.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, it's a skeleton, basically. Poor guy, man. Just ate him up, you know. Yeah, like I told you, I didn't realize. I thought he was fighting and he was gonna win. Like a while ago when I first when it first came out, he's because he was telling people what to do and make sure you get checked. You know, I got checked, and yeah. I'm like, oh, okay, he's gonna beat this thing, you know. He just kept going down, man.
SPEAKER_01:Anyway, cancer sucks, man.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, man, and everybody has it, right?
SPEAKER_01:So um this uh But I mean, like, you know, like so you and I were talking about it and about how but I like I had I'd realized I hadn't really seen a picture of him in ages before that, right? Yeah, I know everybody remembered him. I didn't watch Dawson's Creek, but I watched, but I knew I loved varsity blues. I remember watching that when I was young, and so it just again, like I was like, fuck, he's almost my age, man. Like, oh yeah, well, he was in varsity blues, that was in the 90s, right? So yeah, you don't even realize like the whole Dawson's Creek must have been in the 90s as well.
SPEAKER_04:That was a huge show, wasn't it? Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Who else was in that show? Uh Katie Holmes. Yes, that's what I was saying.
SPEAKER_04:Katie Holmes, right?
SPEAKER_01:Michelle Williams, is that who it was? The blonde girl. Was it? I think so. And then uh I can't remember the other guy. Joshua Joshua Jackson, I think. Before Tom Cruise. So I never even watched it, and I know all the things.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, that's impressive. So you were reading the Teen Magazines back in the past.
SPEAKER_01:That's exactly what it was, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Teen Teen, whatever they were, Leonardo DiCaprio on the cover. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Well, it's funny at the Oscars. I think that when Nikki Glazer was giving them shit, she's like, Well, we don't know anything about you. And she made a reference to one of the last articles he ever did when he gave a bit of a was like, Yeah, it was like in Teen Magazine, I think, something like that, right? So, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, he was lucky she didn't go after because I imagine all those stars when they went, Nikki Glazer, uh-oh. Yeah. She don't hold back, but she did hold back.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, she held back last year. She did two years in a row, she held back last year as well. And she goes on to Howard Stern and does her jokes.
SPEAKER_04:Well, I mean, she has to hold back, she's not gonna get the gig. That's right. So it's probably big money for her.
SPEAKER_01:And like I've, you know, she's good. She says, you know, you have to do it. Oh, yeah, there's a bunch of them. Matt Reich's coming as well. Yeah. They um, but she said you have to like you reach out to their people to be like, hey, I want to do this joke, or I want to do a joke, and then you find out which ones are kind of being like, yeah, man, I'm I'm game. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Because some people give me some people don't want to be made fun of.
SPEAKER_04:I remember there was one year, I don't know who it was, but the the only thing they said that you can't say is she said you can't talk about my mom. Like somebody said that's fair, right? That's fair. I believe the mom might have been right. Unless your mom was one of the Kardashians. Everything goes. Yeah. Yeah. So if you don't know people, we had a shooting in a high school. Where was the high school, Mike?
SPEAKER_01:BC, Tumblr Ridge, BC.
SPEAKER_04:Tumblr where was it?
SPEAKER_01:Tumblr Ridge.
SPEAKER_04:Tumblr Ridge, BC. Never heard of it.
SPEAKER_02:Never heard of it. Probably a beautiful place.
SPEAKER_04:Small little community small little community, but uh, you know, the the the shooter, we think killed ten. We don't know for sure if the young girl died because I had written down 25 were injured.
SPEAKER_01:Uh yeah, so yeah, there was I thought there was five, the mom, the stepbrother, five five twelve and thirteen-year-olds at the school, and then the shooter themselves.
SPEAKER_04:Tell the story, Mike, and I'll go into this. So what he first he he killed who?
SPEAKER_01:Oh, so my understanding well, I mean, from what I see in the media is that the the the mother and the stepbrother first and then then went to the school and and killed a teacher at the school and and then a bunch of 12 and 13-year-old kids. Yeah, kids. Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah, right. Horrible, man. Yeah, horrible. I think it's the worst school shooting in Canadian history, is it? I don't know, but I'll tell you this. Well, there was the polytechnic one there, right? Oh, right. Uh where he killed all those women. That was that was at a French university, right? How many was that though? God, I can't.
SPEAKER_04:One's too many, it doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, it doesn't matter, right?
SPEAKER_00:But yeah, it's a lot, though.
SPEAKER_04:I saw a video of this kid. Like he he you know, did a own video, like not just before the shooting, but this kid is off, man. Like he's laughing like a psychopath. Like I watched it and went, oh my god, the poor fella. And then you read, you start reading, go, he's been on SSRIs for years. He's mentally unstable. The RCP been to the house, sees some firearms previously, you know, and then dad's not in the picture. Dad wrote a whole thing going, I apologize, I'm so sorry to everybody, you know. But at the end of the day, it's just every one of these shooters are on something from a pharmacist or a doctor, not like marijuana, right? And we were talking off camera, as you know. Young people, if you don't know, nobody listens to us, but listen to this. You shouldn't do any kind of drug or or or SSRIs or blockers or anything until you're about 24 in general, because your mind is not ready. I mean, you're already full of hormones, right? You give them some extra pills. Some people can't handle that, so they tell you your brain keeps developing until you're 24. Now, some people probably benefit off the SSRIs, but from what I read, did you know that most of these shooters are on pills? These people that have been yeah, I read it up on it, man. I was like, what? Like the last I believe, okay, don't quote me, but I remember reading it said 10 out of the 11 last uh uh shooters were all on some kind of medication, which means that something's wrong with them, and that med's probably not helping, and they saw the world in a different way, and then they went out and did what they did, right? Yeah, or they yeah, I don't know, man. I don't know, man, but it's just I hate seeing people like and then he killed himself, right? Yeah, right? So he obviously had a plan uh to do what he had to do, and something went.
SPEAKER_01:Something went that day to make it make a decision. I don't I don't understand it for the life of me.
SPEAKER_04:And but I'll tell you that video I watched of him laughing terrified me. It was like a horror movie, right? Like it looked like he was raided out, like it was it was scary. I don't don't watch it. No, I wouldn't know. I I'm not I can't like it came up and I went, Oh, I'll just click and I went, Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01:That's one thing I haven't have never done anytime these things ever happen, is I never go and look up anything about the shooter, right?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, it was it was not good, man. It was not good. So anyway, we wish all those people the best of luck for that. Uh families and everything that happened. But uh, you know, he can't even be tried or talked to because he took his own line from it.
SPEAKER_01:So yeah, no, I mean it's uh you know, like these things affect us, right? Like it's uh, you know, we had the one closer to home a few years back with that guy going on the rampage that we were driving by your way and showed you the oh yeah, the guy that got the RCMP. That's the it's years later, and it's still like there's it's you know, it's uh still you still talk about it. You drive by places, you still have that memory. Like it's in a small community.
SPEAKER_04:And I didn't know that when you told me that.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, but so this is like you know, and this was Nova Scotia. It was like, you know, from from one area of Nova Scotia to another. This is like a tiny little community, one school, like that's gonna be there forever, man. That's such a mark, right?
SPEAKER_04:Oh, yeah, yeah. You know, and everybody would have known that family. That's what I mean.
SPEAKER_01:Everybody's knows, yeah, everybody has a personal kind of connection to to this, right?
SPEAKER_04:So it's but when you murder your own family, you got something seriously wrong with you, right? Like if you go back and look at all the serial killers that have killed their parents, those people aren't normal, right? They're oof, anyway. Holy smokes.
SPEAKER_00:Yep.
SPEAKER_04:Well, let's get off the sad stuff. Olympics. All right. So, make sure I get this right. Hey, little kitty. We have one gold, three silver, and five bronze. And we got that gold in.
SPEAKER_01:Uh was it downhill moguls, I guess.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, the side-by-side moguls. Yeah, that guy is so good.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, anyway. Yeah, that one that that was just this morning. So we were just there was an article just yesterday, and uh it said Canada, we're halfway through the games, and Canada doesn't have a gold yet. And this is the the first time since first time since the Calgary Olympics. Where I think where it said we didn't, I don't know if we got a goal. Like we were the host nation and we might not have got a gold. Well, there was a couple of close ones in the speed skaters.
SPEAKER_02:We were very close in the speed skater.
SPEAKER_01:Well, buddy uh uh what's his name? Mikhail uh King's uh King uh the speed skater? Yeah, no, the guy that just won the gold.
SPEAKER_04:Oh Kyle Kin's uh uh Mikael. Yeah, oh my god. We're over. I didn't write his name down, sorry. And then I came in yelling about it too. I said, hey Mike Kyle won the gold.
SPEAKER_01:Oh my god, I just anyway. Doesn't matter. Don't forget right here, right here, right here. So anyway, so he was uh telling you he had a race earlier in the Olympics where yeah, I think in the goal, you know, going for the gold, they had the exact same time. I think it was an Australian that had scored better on the the turns, yeah, and so got the goal and he got the silver.
SPEAKER_04:So good on him for getting uh yeah, so he's got well, he's got two medals, bro. Right? This is an S Olympics, right? Oh, and by the way, I think this is his fifth Olympics, he's meddled in every Olympics. He's a stud, this guy. Right, and as we know, moguls are very difficult. So good on you. But uh, did you see the controversy in the speed skating? A sort of bump there around the corner when the last last turn.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, the was it the Chinese and the Yeah, man, it looked pretty shifty to me. Norwegians, I think. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:I don't know. You know, that speed skating's tough stuff because there's all kinds of shit going on in there, right? But uh yeah, it looked like it looked like we could have had a medal if we didn't get rubbed out.
SPEAKER_01:Which one's the one? Oh, that was the that was the uh I think it's the long jump or whatever it is there. The the skiing? Yeah, yeah. The the the penis gate where they're like talking about penis and uh like getting a penis pump out, gives them a little more surface area, gives them a little more a little more uh drag or whatever the hell it is. Last drag. Anyway, anyways, that's not speed skating, that's right.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah. So yeah, that well that that was pretty good. We got it, we need more medals, though.
SPEAKER_01:Man, the Olympics are full of controversy, right? There's the penis gate thing. I don't know if it's called penis gate, but it's we'll call it penis gate. I just like saying penis. Um and then there was the uh the the so the speed skating. Yeah, right. There's uh the curling, obviously.
SPEAKER_04:Okay, all right. Well, let's start with that then. Yeah, okay. So good old Canadians didn't look so good on live TV the other day.
SPEAKER_01:Uh when I watched it back, I just thought that's just the heat of the moment in the competition. Well, no, but but the problem was this is like bleep bleep bleep. Because yeah, the mic's got everything, right?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, the mic's got everything. I'm like, what is he saying as oh, he didn't say fire truck. Oh no, that's for sure. Yeah, yeah. Anyway, so the whole thing was you you you when you release the rock, they said that he's double touching with a little like a finger poke or something.
SPEAKER_01:And I'm still trying to figure out like, does that really do anything? I don't know. Are we really is this really cheating? And you know, anyway, he the videos are videos look like he did. I can't quite tell, right?
SPEAKER_04:Well, the the men's they came out.
SPEAKER_01:The Swiss the Swiss came out in the next game and accused them of doing it again.
SPEAKER_04:Well, the Olympic Olympic people came out and said, we looked at the videos, we saw no indiscretions from the Canadian men's team at all. So suck it, Sweden. And here's the thing I read that Sweden was trying to throw people off the game by doing that, and it worked.
SPEAKER_01:Well, he said after the game in the interview, he said, Well, we've got to remember these guys, you know, were already 0-2, you know, and any chance that they had for competing for a medal, like you know, they needed to start winning some games, and so they were kind of once again losing and just weren't essentially accused of being poor sports, I guess.
SPEAKER_04:Well, that well, they were poor sports, right? And and on top of that, you know, at the end of the day, bad mofin anybody in the Olympics looks bad because that's not what the Olympics is all about.
SPEAKER_01:And you know, as a Canadian, what I'll say is I'm lucky you didn't punch them. You know, the refs were there, the refs didn't call it or the umpires, whatever they were.
SPEAKER_02:No, they watched the and they re they watched it after.
SPEAKER_01:And again, like does it actually give you an advantage? What does it do? Is it real cheating? I get it. They're saying the rules are the rules, and you need to follow the rules, fine. But the way the Swedish guy went about it, like kind of walking by him and making a little, you know, comment to him. Yeah, it was like a child. Yeah, like a child.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, he was like a child.
SPEAKER_01:You can just slang up and it's like again, like a poor sport. So that I agree with the Canadian fella, they were being poor sports, right? You take it to the judge, do your thing, get the warning, you know, follow the rules that way. But you chose to go at the guy and accuse him of cheating right there on TV. Right on TV. How do you expect the guy to respond, right?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, and then as we know now, I didn't think yeah.
SPEAKER_01:I mean, the Canadian probably could have like showed a little more poise, but oh, he was pissed. If I was in the heat of it and somebody accused me of doing that, I'd probably react Oscar.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah, maybe. And then well, the part I liked it, but it goes, yeah, he picked the wrong team to mess with. I'm like, all right, we're gonna have a brawl curly. Hit him with the broom. Right? But yeah, I mean, and then you know, now the the Swedish team's why is everybody bothering us? Because you're an asshole. Because you're the one that called us up. Now you're you backlash and you don't like it. Shut up, you little bitch. Yeah, like I hope you guys don't win. Go Canada.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, they're like in they're they're in the eighth place.
SPEAKER_04:I'm being nice, they're not gonna win, so suck it. When you go home to your home country, they're gonna shit on you. Heidi and all of them. Yeah, so yeah, bad, sweet. That was that's the worst thing I think I've seen in a long time.
SPEAKER_01:Well, like again, I you know, like everybody the the initial reaction was to the you know, the the the profanities the Canadians fewed. You know, when I when I watched that when I when I watched that, I just thought, well, like, you know, well, the guy was kind of you know, a passive aggressive way went and made like a little bit. Oh, it was passive aggressive.
SPEAKER_04:You're you're you're you're mad at the the Canadian swearing? Conviction. He was angry, he used those words because he was there. You go. Yeah, all right. Sure. Yep. So now you're saying controversies. What about the poor Ukrainian dude? Is that uh the skull? Was he the skull or I think so, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And he had the the helmet.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, all the pictures of the athletes and coaches that were killed in the war, and they're like, you can't do that because it's Olympic, we don't do politics, and they disqualify them. Right? So that sucks. Right now, the other one, I've never heard of this, but you know, I was a skier. Uh apparently there's certain wax you're not allowed to use that makes you go faster. Okay, and they caught a bunch of dudes using it. So, well, I wrote it down here. We got uh banned waxes for um cross-country skiing and some uh snowboarder, also. But hey, cheating's cheating, it doesn't matter, right? You know, and what are you gonna do? So my thing is is that I didn't realize they would like test the boards.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, right?
SPEAKER_04:You know, they can test the athletes for drugs, you go pee in the container, but you know, somebody's out there, okay. Hang on, give me your scrape down off, and then they go.
SPEAKER_01:Make sense, I guess.
SPEAKER_04:Okay, chemistry set on the slopes.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, they must they submit it, I'm sure, to uh to a lab and yeah.
SPEAKER_04:So I thought that was interesting. Here's what I'm thinking, though. This is this is how I see it. You know, uh uh what they're checking, checking, checking the uh the wax on the boards. Hey, hey Jimmy, bring that board. Right? Everybody now is going to check and do skis and everything, go make sure that's not on there. Yeah, yeah. What a good way to burn somebody in the Olympics. Just go paint the wax on the skin.
SPEAKER_03:Put the wax on the skis. I didn't know.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I guess.
SPEAKER_04:Try that, Sweden. Yeah, yeah. What else you got for controversies in the Olympics, Mike? Well, I think that was it. I think you covered it. Was that the whole thing?
SPEAKER_02:Wax on, wax off.
SPEAKER_00:Wax on, wax off.
SPEAKER_02:The curling one's the big one that's making all the headlines right now.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:As it should. I thought when I watch it live, I'm like, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Holy smokes. I know, right?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. Got nothing on Epstein. Uh all right. So let's go. Well. Okay. First thing I come in when I see you today, slam dunk contest sucked ass. Yeah. It was horrible. Now, the reason I thought it was horrible is because I don't know who you are. We're not even going to say your name. You're an asshole. The guy from the heat, the biggest. The guy from the heat, you're a dancing douchebag. Like, I don't understand. Your dunks sucked. They were terrible. You won your what is all this shit? Like the whole. The first time he did it, I went, What are you doing? Like I was watching, what are you doing?
SPEAKER_01:A little bit too much.
SPEAKER_04:Do you have that planned? Like you're an idiot. I hope, I hope your team is a good thing.
SPEAKER_01:Like I told you, my thing was that you missed like three dunks, and then you then you have to like go to a different dunk and like just a basic 360 or something, and then you come out dancing again. It's like, no, dude, you just missed three dunks, man.
SPEAKER_04:Like this is why five foot two high school incredible.
SPEAKER_01:Mac McClung, why those guys are good dunks? Because they make them on the first or you know, they don't like you know you're not missing like three, four dunks, man, right? Like now.
SPEAKER_04:The best part is is over and over again, by the way. Listen, they all missed. They were terrible. None of the dunks were any good. No. None of them.
SPEAKER_01:Well, I saw, you know, good try, but like were you trying if you're if your attempt was to go from the free throw line, the two guys that did it, both of them were like a full like stride inside the free throw line. It's like, that's not a free, you know, it's still hard. You're still jumping from outside the circle or whatever, but like, come on, man. Like, it's not from the free throw line. It's stupid. Yeah. You know, go back, watch like Levant, like Zach doing it from the free throw line, doing like a between the legs from the free throw line. Like, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. If you could jump six feet in the air. I know, right?
SPEAKER_01:But anyway, anyway, it looked, it I it looked like I didn't watch it last night. I just watched the dunks and you know, the the highlights, the story.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, I didn't watch it live in this night.
SPEAKER_01:And uh, not just the highlights, like I watched the rounds like just sped up a little bit.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, me too.
SPEAKER_01:And uh oh man, it's just so boring. I hate I hate dunk competitions like that. Now I should just showed you before when it came on the four dunks that Matt McClung put out that said these were the dunks I was gonna do. And right off the bat, I was like, man, like you just would have, you know, and again, you're awesome. You see the video of them, you don't know how many attempts it took him. I'm sure that the one where he like swings the arm up. I don't even know how he does that. My shoulders so he was thinking about it, right? But yeah, exactly. Um that one was crazy. Uh the one the one my my favorite one of the bunch, though, was the one he went between the legs and then reversed it. That was pretty good, man, right?
SPEAKER_04:Anyway, Max Boy Boy making all you guys look bad.
SPEAKER_01:Other guys are like, oh, I don't, you know, if he's gonna be in it, I'm not gonna do it.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, well, okay. There's my point.
SPEAKER_01:Go in it anyway, man. And then you get three other guys, and it doesn't matter, you're gonna win. Like, we all want to see you dunk, man.
SPEAKER_04:How much of a bitch do you have to be to say, well, if Matt's Matt's gonna dunk, I'm not going in. Exactly.
SPEAKER_01:Like, where are you gonna go? Shouldn't you be like, no, I'm gonna go out and kick this guy. Thank you.
SPEAKER_04:And by the way, where the hell is Zion Williamson? Like, how come we've never seen him in a dunk contest where you can jump over a house?
SPEAKER_01:Well, we talked about this. It's like the thing. What are you doing?
SPEAKER_04:Best dunkers are never in the contest.
SPEAKER_01:You know, you know, you have you know, Jordan Dominique, you had uh uh you know, Vince, T Mac, you had you know what I mean? Like you had like these superstar players in Spud Webb. Well, I wouldn't have called Spud Webb a superstar, but yeah, but a dunk contest. Well, my point was my point being is that like Colby was in it, Colby won. LeBron came in, LeBron didn't go. I love LeBron, you know, I'm a LeBron guy. I can't believe he's never been. I wish one thing he would have done was going to the one. Especially this one. It should have gone in this one. Yeah. So again, I think, you know, uh, you know, we talked about this before. Like, yeah, we've seen the dunks he does in the gym where he's able to throw it off the wall and catch the stuff. Those are crazy. Yeah, but you can't do that in the dunk competition, right? Because you don't have a wall to throw off of, right? So uh I don't know if LeBron is just pure power. He's probably one of the best in-game dunkers there's been.
SPEAKER_04:Um, I sent you that thing yesterday. Yeah. Dunks from the time he was 18 to 40.
SPEAKER_01:To 40, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Pretty cool, man.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, there's some good ones in the club.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, there was some good ones there, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Um but yeah, like I think him not going into the competition, you know, just told other people, well, hey, other superstars, hey, I don't need to do it. And uh, as much as everybody loves to see dunks, they like to see superstars dunk.
SPEAKER_04:Well, and right John Moran's never been in the hasn't. Uh we don't care about you, you're a moron anyway, but still you can dunk. I know that. Yeah, right? You dunked over Wimby this year. It was brutal. Wimby probably doesn't know how you did it. It was nuts.
SPEAKER_01:Like, I think back to uh to Derrick Rose and the hops that guy had. Like, yeah, like why you know that guy could have, you know, give him a few creative dunks to practice leading up to it, man. Like, come on, man.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, but the dunk content is just shit now, absolute garbage.
SPEAKER_01:So what you know, like so you every now and then you'll get, oh, the dunk competitions back, they saved the dunk. So, like, you know, uh, Levine and Gordon, two years, you know, those those two back-to-back matchups were fantastic. Then it goes, then it gets shipped for a few years. And Matt McClung comes in and so three years. The dunk competitions weren't great. Matt McClung was awesome.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, yeah, he was awesome. You know what I mean? He's still awesome. He's still awesome.
SPEAKER_01:But like, it was not even close. Like the other dunkers didn't have a chance.
SPEAKER_02:Like, well, there was no 50s in this one. Yeah, no 49s either. There's a couple 49s.
SPEAKER_01:I think there was somebody got a fit. There was there was one dunk that was really nice, and I think he got two 50s and a couple of 49s and a 48.
SPEAKER_04:I probably sped through that one.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. Uh guy, the oh my god. Can't I don't know. I was gonna be honest, I don't know who any of these guys are.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, it was Jackson Hayes for the Lakers. Oh, yeah, Jackson Hayes.
SPEAKER_01:Right, but he didn't do anything. He didn't even yeah. So just a big tall guy that can dunk. That's right.
SPEAKER_04:He only jumps this high anyway, seven feet, but that's right.
SPEAKER_01:Who were the judges? Dr. J, Dwight. Um who else is up there?
SPEAKER_04:Dominique. Dominique, of course.
SPEAKER_01:Uh I don't think Vince wasn't a judge. No, Vince was he was a coach. He was yeah, I saw him out in the court. I can't remember who the other two judges were. So there you go. I mean, I didn't even pay attention.
SPEAKER_04:Uh I found it interesting that Tracy McGritty and Vince were coaching against each other. That was fun.
SPEAKER_01:That was fun. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Cousins, if you didn't know.
SPEAKER_01:They they were head uh, so that was the uh so it'll be interesting to see how the tournament goes today in the all-star game. Uh so that they did it, they did a similar style format with a format tonight. Uh tonight. They did a similar style format with the Rising Stars game as well. And you know, so Vince was a coach, T Mac was a was a coach, Carmelo was a coach. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so that and it looked good. It looked like it was actually competitive. So we'll see how this one goes today. I know they're trying to copy off the the Four Nations or whatever, whatever they called it last year, the hockey one.
unknown:Which is the first one.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, we would tell me about that right after. It was actually awesome.
SPEAKER_04:It was awesome.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:But oh then uh the part that shocked me, I'm like going through and go, Dame Leward's got what?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, won the three point.
SPEAKER_04:Dame Lillard's on the sideline for the three-point thing. I'm like, didn't he just tear his keylift standing last year?
SPEAKER_01:He did it last year, yeah. So he didn't have to, you know, like he didn't have to do a lot of running, and he just had to kind of go to his spots and shoot some spot up threes, right?
SPEAKER_04:So yeah, so a guy that didn't play all year goes into the three-point contest and wins.
SPEAKER_01:For the third time for a three-time winner, Dame Leward. Yeah, this will probably be a good one. I told you, I don't know if you watched it or not, but Booker was it was Booker's to lose. That's right, and he lost it. That's to the money ball rack. Uh hit the first two money balls to give him it was 27-25, three balls left, and he missed all the guy you want taking a last shot. Yeah, it is.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_01:I mean, he was uh, you know, he's like, ah, yeah, man.
SPEAKER_04:Rough. Yeah, rough.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's rough when you know it's yours, you have it. Like all you need to do is like hit one, you hit one, you tie it. Tie until you win, right? You have three shots at it, and you missed all three. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:I mean, that'll probably never happen again, really. You know, you don't see that wide open.
SPEAKER_01:No, so yeah, so that was that was uh the three-point competition is actually that should be the main show now, right? It was better than people like that better than the dunk competition now. It was good, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:And they, you know, it's they always have to look at the clock too. Like they had a it's strategy. There's a strat uh strategy to that for sure, 100%.
SPEAKER_01:I don't know. Yeah, you know what? I I still don't know what the dunk competition, not to go back to it, but I don't think I like the time clock either. I think so much time to gather your thoughts again. You know, I get it. It's it's because you know, you don't you don't want to be, I think before they were giving them three attempts, right? But they were taking forever to do it. Well, it's probably a time thing. And so the time thing now is they can keep it moving. But I think you can still have like just give them three attempts, but you know, you know, you shouldn't have a minute and a half to do it, you know, to have as many attempts as you want.
SPEAKER_04:Listen, I'm sorry, but if I'm Dr. J and I'm on that, I'm on that panel and the guy dunks, I'm just gonna go, okay, you can sit down.
SPEAKER_01:I think I think it's just to the point now.
SPEAKER_04:It's shit.
SPEAKER_01:To the but to the point now that it's you know, like even the you know, the one dunk, it's actually really nice. He does the 360 windmill, you're like, oh yeah. But all I could be like, well, but it was not Vince's. And so so it's like maybe it's maybe the dunk competition needs to go away for a while, right?
SPEAKER_04:Maybe it's run its course. Yeah, I mean until you watch those four dunks of Matt McClung's again, it goes, okay.
SPEAKER_01:But again, like I said, the competition itself was just like it was just fun to watch. Maybe, maybe don't even yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_04:Well, here's the thing.
SPEAKER_01:I mean, we get some guys like Matt McClung's, like some of these professional dunkers to come out and just have like a bit of a dunk show, right?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, right, right. Like we we know that there the contracts are written, like you know, you get so many assists, you get this much money, you make it to the playoffs, you get this much money. There must be somebody written somewhere if you win the dunk contest or go in the dunk, like maybe yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, I think there's an incentive to it. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. The winner gets extra money, and then it goes to the money goes to a charity and stuff like that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Now, speaking of incentives, uh this is crazy. So some people lost money that played in the Super Bowl because of taxes. Okay. So yeah, yeah. I wasn't I didn't believe it either, but I I read about it. So basically, the teams were there for seven days. Okay. Okay. So you get your your your pay gets based off how much you make during the season.
SPEAKER_00:Okay.
SPEAKER_04:Okay. So this guy made like$176,000 basically for winning the Super Bowl, and his taxes and payments were like$240,000. He lost money. And that's real. That happened. It's not like, oh no, no, go look. It happened. It wasn't the only one. But I'm thinking to myself, how do you lose money when taxes are so like the taxes are so high? That's how they lost the money because they're there for seven days, too. I've never heard anything like that until this year.
SPEAKER_01:No, I've never heard of that.
SPEAKER_04:I I went double checked on it, and then here's what's even weirder. I was watching Rogan and they brought up.
SPEAKER_01:So what do you mean they lost money? You mean like he didn't lose money for the year? No, no, no.
SPEAKER_04:He lost money for that week.
SPEAKER_01:Like he had to pay in to win the Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_04:Okay, that seems weird. Yeah. Yeah, it was weird. And then here's the best part though. Like I said, I was watching a Rogan podcast, and they brought it up and they checked it through uh AI and everything and go, yep, it's 100% real. He lost money. Weird. Like, wow. They didn't want to say his name though, right? Yeah, right. But yeah, that's pretty crazy. Like, wouldn't you be pissed?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:You know, because they have it had to do with the seven days and the percentages and all this stuff. But I'm like, that doesn't make any sense.
SPEAKER_00:No.
SPEAKER_04:Well, a lot of people don't know this. If you play in the NFL, every state you play in, you have to pay tax in that state. So there's different taxes. California, for instance, is crazy. Taxes are so high. So uh also for boxers. If you are in a different state, you have to pay taxes in that state on your winnings. Right. It's the same for the NFL. So people don't know that. Look into it. That's why some guys get pissed when you go play for another team you don't want to play for and all this other shit.
SPEAKER_01:Right.
SPEAKER_04:But anyway.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, well, you can understand, I guess, they're you're making income within that state.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, exactly. So you have to pay tax on it. Right. But it's the all right.
SPEAKER_01:Speaking of incentives, uh, LeBron didn't he just what did he miss? Uh it was his 18th game of the season or whatever, which means he's now ineligible. Ineligible for awards, but that also means his streak of making the like all NBA teams are done.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, but who's gonna beat that anyway?
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. So yeah, so he's not he's not eligible for any.
SPEAKER_01:So that can't be right, because didn't he didn't he have another season where he sat out 20 some games? Or was oh, that might have been before they had the uh before they had that minimum game rule in the Oh, he definitely set out more than that.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah. Yeah, but you're right. Yeah, that one year in LA.
SPEAKER_01:That was that one year in LA where he was injured and he missed a shitload of time. Right, right. But I think anyway, I think he's made the all NBA like first, second, or third team. It's his 23rd season.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And 20 seasons or something like that, right? Yeah, yeah. Anyway, anyway, he's not eligible to for this year, so nobody cares what we put him up here anyway. But that stuff actually, like again, that stuff is built into their contracts. You make an all-mba team, like some of them, some of some of their contracts, right? Some of their contracts have those kind of the those incentives, right? Those bonuses to their salary.
SPEAKER_04:So well, let's talk about the triple double and what happened in that, right? LeBron, oldest man to get a triple-double, but tell them what tell the tell the viewers what Austin Reese did by accident.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, they got a rebound, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:We love you, Austin, but oops.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, I'm good on Austin. He said, man, when I think funny, and I'm not paying attention to stats, right? And he said, everybody let me know. He said, LeBron didn't let me know. Everybody else let me know when I got back, being like, You took his rebound, man, but he got anyway, he got his rebound later.
SPEAKER_04:Basically, if you don't know what we're talking about, uh LeBron needed one more rebound for a triple double. Austin Reeves snatched it. The triple double to become the oldest player ever.
SPEAKER_01:Beat uh Carl Malone's old record. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, so that's quite something, actually, if you think about it. But yeah.
SPEAKER_01:One more record for him.
SPEAKER_04:I know, right? Like, holy hell. But yeah, I thought that was funny that Austin was. I didn't know, man. Well, that's what I mean. Like, if uh good, that's the right answer.
SPEAKER_01:You know, if those kinds of things don't matter to LeBron, you know, because when I first heard it, it was like, look at LeBron giving him the side eye and saying, hey man, you took my rebound or whatever. It's like I thought LeBron didn't care about that kind of stuff, right? But uh Austin said, Oh, it wasn't LeBron, it was everybody else giving me shit about it, right? So then maybe everybody was giving him shit and he turned to LeBron's did I? And LeBron's like, yeah. Yeah, you took my rebound, man.
SPEAKER_04:Uh so if you didn't hear Austin Reeves get traded last night. That's right. Yeah. He's playing for the Wizards now.
SPEAKER_01:No, I think LeBron's days of having that kind of poll are done, man. I think so. I think we've seen the end of it. Finally. We've seen the end of it.
SPEAKER_04:I think that uh where's Bronny been?
SPEAKER_01:Well G League.
SPEAKER_04:G League, D League, F League, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Because I did see they lost to the Thunder, and like a reporter said something like to them about, you know, what does LA need to do to be, you know, I I don't know. Something about what do you need to be do to be a championship team or push it. What are your chances? LeBron said, they're a championship team. We're not. Like so LeBron said, we're not a championship team.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, is that what he said?
SPEAKER_01:Oh, yeah. Straight up. Good for you, bro. But yeah, but hey, man, that was before the trade deadline. LeBron's probably like, hey, we need to make a move here.
SPEAKER_02:We what?
SPEAKER_01:Well, they got Luke Kennard. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Three-point shooter. He hasn't played a stitch yet.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, he played. He's a good thing. I know. Yeah, yeah. No, he's playing. He's he's gonna score. He's gonna shoot some threes. He's gonna get wide open threes. He'll be a knockdown.
SPEAKER_02:Tell me how good he is on defense again.
SPEAKER_01:Well, that's just it. That was this show. Oh, right. There's no defense. That they we talked about this last week, that they traded, uh, they went and got more offense when that's not what they needed, right?
SPEAKER_04:Right, right. But it Tony Kohnhaus just said what I said. I saw it on uh off the record. Tony Corners is like, yeah, yeah, everybody's bitching and complaining about defense. He goes, I score three, you score two, I win.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:I'm like, okay, Tony, I like that because I said that too.
SPEAKER_01:A dead live and die by the three, right?
SPEAKER_04:That's right, man. Live and die by the three. Yeah. Uh well, speaking of living and dying, Chris Paul.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Get done dirty, as we know.
SPEAKER_01:Well, the Clippers did them dirty. I mean, I don't dirty. Raptors waved them. He's like, I don't want to deal with this. I'm not gonna go sign another contract with another team. Screw it. I'm done.
SPEAKER_04:Done, retired.
SPEAKER_01:Give us give him his flowers, man. That man had a hell of a career. Second all time in assists and steals behind Stockton, right? Yeah, no kidding, right?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:John Stockton.
SPEAKER_01:John Stockton. I don't think anybody's ever gonna break John Stockton's uh assist record, but I saw something the other day.
SPEAKER_04:They had John Stockton and LeBron, and they were showing the assists, but then you know what else they showed? How many games uh John Stockton played compared to how many games LeBron played. It's John Stockton like missed way less than LeBron ever did.
SPEAKER_01:Oh yeah, John Stockton was an Iron Man.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, Iron Man, yeah, that's what they were showing the whole thing. I went, wow, I didn't know that. No, I said I didn't know. Well, I knew, but I didn't know until that level. Like, oh my god, he barely missed anything in his whole career.
SPEAKER_01:He barely ever missed games, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Holy, but he couldn't jump either, so his knees weren't bad.
SPEAKER_02:No, good hey man.
SPEAKER_04:One of the best passes of all time, brother.
SPEAKER_01:Uh he was uh yeah, incredible. And he had actually was like a really good shooter. Uh go back and look at his like his percentages. Really good shooter. Uh but like, yeah, like you could really just read angles, like you know, like on defense, too. Like such such good intuition to like uh oh no, god no, no. You had John Havelchek, you had Pistol Pete Merovich, you had like a lot of white really old school, those are like people don't know those, but I'm saying in the well, John Stockton was one of the last kind of true point guards where he was not a shoot first point guard. The point guard position now is definitely shoot first point guard, right?
SPEAKER_04:But it's not just point guard anymore, is it?
SPEAKER_01:So it's it's a tough one because like that's why when when they say who's the best point guard and they put Steph Curry in there, it's like No. Yeah, like Steph is Steph Curry at point guard position is the best shooter of all time.
SPEAKER_04:Correct, not the best point guard.
SPEAKER_01:Uh, but you know, like yeah, it could, you know, he's he's a decent passer. He's not he's not a Steve Nash or a Jason Kidd or a John Stockton or a Magic Johnson, right? Like he's not that. He's not a he's definitely not a Chris Paul or a John Stockton, you know, like defend style defender, right? No, we can't defend either. No. So anyway.
SPEAKER_04:And nobody ever talks about that, ever. They never I never hear anybody say, oh, you know, Steph Curry and his defense needs they just say, oh, chuck it, chuck it, baby, chuck it.
SPEAKER_01:It's because he's he's he's so good on offense that that you know that's a but that's why they were so good before, though. You had Draymond anchor in that defense. We talked about that before as well, right? Yeah, you could hide them in the system, in the defensive system. Clay always that's why people always be like, well, Clay always guards the toughest. Yeah, because Clay's a good defender. Yeah, you know, exactly. Yeah, of course that's gonna be like Jordan. Jordan always guarded. But Pippin was a good thing. You know, look but look at the Lakers series where they put Pippen on magic and it changed the series, right? Like so anyway.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, I just watched the uh the Fall of the Warriors when when uh LeBron beat them when they were down. Remember when they came when when LeBron's team came back to beat the warrior? Yeah, they just had a whole little clip on it on the internet. I watched the whole thing about, oh, there's no way that they're gonna come back, and then of course.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, you mean like oh, you mean you just watch the the the comeback, like the come down from 3-1. Okay, I was trying to think what you meant by the fall of the Warriors.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, but it is what it is. Yeah. So when does basketball start again? What's today?
SPEAKER_01:Well, today's the all-star game, and then there's probably yeah, Monday. So we're gonna go. Monday, Tuesday might be off, so maybe Wednesday games are maybe Tuesday. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, dude. I saw I saw an interview with uh SGA, and the lady's like, so you know, you're uh in the running for uh MVP this year. I'm like, how? You're not even the leading score.
SPEAKER_01:Oh waking up. No, didn't didn't wake up for long.
SPEAKER_04:Okay, so people are gonna think that was a Jeffrey Epstein redacted rectangle. Yeah, it was not. It was just uh one of Mike's uh awesome cats. Thought he'd come into the screen for a minute. He's just sleeping right there. He's sleeping now, yeah. But uh what were we saying before the cat made us the blackout thing?
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, you asked when the games uh were starting to go. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03:But no, no, the Sheik Gil just thought, what? There's no way that Jokic shouldn't win again this year.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. Well not again, but should win. I mean, how can SGA be he's not even the leading scorer?
SPEAKER_01:No. I mean, I think well, I think they're just saying he's in the running. No, he's not. That doesn't mean that like Luca's leading the league and scoring, right? Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Well, no wonder he, you know.
SPEAKER_01:Uh there's no doubt that SGA is the machine that keeps that OKC team running for sure. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Well, did you hear what happened the other day when like none of the Lakers played? Oh everybody get pissed.
SPEAKER_01:Well, shit, yeah. You you know, like well, they the whole starting lineup's at. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. And I went, like, I was gonna watch the game. I went, I'm not watching this shit. They're gonna lose by 40. What'd they lose? By 30 something? Something like that. Something like that. But I go, they're gonna lose by 40. No way you're beating San Antonio with nobody on the floor. Was it San Antonio?
SPEAKER_01:No, I thought it was uh the the Thunder, yeah, isn't it?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, whatever. But still, yeah, like why am I gonna watch this game? Yeah, right. But I don't think SGA was playing that game either.
SPEAKER_00:No, SGA wasn't.
SPEAKER_04:He's been out for a while, right? But it is what it is. But yeah, they uh they were talking, they like it got to the commissioner again. He's like, listen, we're gonna be looking into this more. This is ridiculous. Same thing about Shea, they said too, we're gonna look into what you're doing. Why aren't you playing on live uh whatever they call it?
SPEAKER_01:Well, there's they they they can go after them. It's gotta be it's gotta be clear as day that they didn't they that they were you know healthy enough to play and it wasn't just okay.
SPEAKER_04:Hang on then. All right, let's do this then. Well, maybe somebody should look into the wizards because they're losing on purpose.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, there's uh uh they find two teams already for like uh like playing.
SPEAKER_04:Because they're trying to get the draft pick. Yeah, but the well you got A D, is that why you took A D.
SPEAKER_01:Well, they got Trey Young and AD, and neither of them are playing, right? Correct.
SPEAKER_04:And they probably never will play together anymore. Well, that's the thing.
SPEAKER_01:They if they get the number one pick, they got now they got, but they mean this is what they just tried in Dallas with uh with Cooper Flag, man. Come on. How's that working out for Dallas right now? I get it, they got a nice young talent to build around, but come on.
SPEAKER_04:But still, yeah, it is what it is. Yeah. All right, what else you got?
SPEAKER_01:I think that was it, man. I think that was all we wanted to. I think that's what all we talked about earlier today. Nothing on your cue card?
SPEAKER_04:No, I we get everything on the cue cards. And once again, people, the reason I'm writing this down is because every day I drive home, I'm like, I forgot to say this and this. So today I looked at a whole thing, we got it all, but I remembered every piece of it anyway. Yeah, yeah. Uh, but still, I mean in general weather's warming up here, don't you think? Like we you know, today's like zero plus one. Yeah, uh, but you heard uh another storm coming, didn't you? You said something else, some snow coming.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, we were supposed to get a little bit of snow today, and there was nothing. Yeah, Turn into anything we like to do. I see blue sky here. Looks great. But yeah. It doesn't mean it's done. I told you we would get snowstorms in early March every year, so it doesn't mean we're done yet.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, well, you you were giving me the third degree when I said I'm taking my snow tires off for the 30th of March. And you're like, oh, it might be early. I'm like, well, I just I booked it in. I don't know. We'll see.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Because it could be a shit show.
SPEAKER_00:You never know, man.
SPEAKER_04:You never know. Yeah. So anyway, um, didn't get any uh crazy emails or uh messages this week, uh, Mike, but uh we got some uh lady asked us if she could come on, a country singer of some kind. Okay, yeah. Um we're just okay. Everybody who's listening or watching, we need to set the record straight right here. Okay, yeah, we're booming. Yeah, we're doing well, but we're still not set up for interviews either on the uh laptop through Zoomy or whatever you're gonna do it with, right? Or or other things. So when we get a little bit bigger, we will try to get that set up. Uh we know he obviously can't come to the studio, it's you know 75 miles out of the site of Halifax. It's Nova Scotia, Canada.
SPEAKER_05:Oh, Canada.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. So we will try to have something when we can figure out how to do that. So keep writing. I will get back to you. Um, we're still looking for additional sponsors, of course. So if you're interested in that, let us know. Uh what kind of cigarette do you smoke, Mike? Maybe a little yeah, we don't smoke cigarettes, but I'd be more than happy to put one in my mouth or behind my ear for the money.
SPEAKER_00:All right.
SPEAKER_04:So uh once again, you can watch us on Buzz Sprout, which gives you everything. But everybody, once again, Mike, has been listening to us on Spotify.
SPEAKER_00:Okay.
SPEAKER_04:So if you're just listening to us, once again, if you don't know uh what we look like, Mike, seven foot two, black guy, got the biggest afro, like Michael. No, we are both white, short. Well, actually, I'm short, he's not. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:I'm 5'9, man. I'm not tall.
SPEAKER_04:Hey, I'm like 5'2 with like lifts. So, and uh, you're gonna still see the cats. We got two of them, we can see the revision, but uh you'll see those two. So, anyway, once again, thanks for watching. Catch us every Wednesday, goes up at one o'clock uh on uh Muscle and Fiction, which is my actual channel. But the the podcast, yes, the podcast. I had to think about it because I had two things going on. The podcast in general goes up on Spotify, usually Sunday night or Monday morning, depending on the tech guy. Okay? Yep.
