Let's ignite our creative potential together. Hello and welcome to Melancholy Coaching Podcast, the show that highlights different business owners and ideas. I'm Fran, your NLP and business coach, and I'm joined by Evan, your tech support. We're here to introduce season six. I'm going to go straight in with some goal setting. The goal setting isn't about a strict deadline, unless, of course, you've got that corporate job, you know, with a deadline, or you know, it really is, but it's not about a strict deadline as such. It's about a positive, forward-looking mindset that builds momentum. Evan and I have content that's more suitable for beginners to business to motivate and inspire, and people wanting to refresh their knowledge. So that's the approach that we're going in with goal setting. So set a gentle intention for now. So just start with that, a gentle intention, and then create a mental and physical space that feels safe and clear. So you have the energy for creative work. Imagine your big juicy goal. So we've got to move it from intention into a goal, more solid goal. So imagine your big juicy goal. See the details of reaching it, you know, really, really embody that imagining it. Or if you have any issues with that, then maybe write it out so you can just see it in writing. So just describe what it is and describe the details of reaching it. And then weave in a simple gesture to anchor the feeling. So I quite often like to just play a little bit of music that I then attach to that big juicy goal to imagine myself achieving it. So something like that, or it could be a physical touch, like you know, you you give yourself a little fist pump or something like that. And you pair this with practical steps. So break the goal into clear milestones. So that just means break it down into the little steps, keep things organized and set your surroundings to boost your focus. So for me, it works with soft lighting and calm colours, pleasant textures. So I quite often have a plushie or a blanket around and some fresh air, so my windows open, I've got my mood lamp on, and this is a perfect setting for me. So think about what would work for you. And then when you feel safe and supported, motivation grows and you can take action. And if you don't hit the goal in the time frame, you review what happened, you learn from it, and you set realistic new deadlines or deadline. So from that, that means that you you take the learnings from it. So there's no judgment or blame for this, it just means that potentially you need to put in an extra step or maybe extra resources, or maybe some help or some learning to help you reach that goal that you want to achieve, and then you just adjust the small steps so that you can continue to move forward. And Evan and I didn't have a clear method of goal setting at first. In fact, it was something that we didn't actually even understand. No, it sounds like the most simple thing, you know, set a goal, and we were like, but how? What does that actually mean? And it means I think now I've given this quite a considerable amount of thought to try and figure it out, and I think that it means something that drives you with a purpose to achieve it. So you have to want it enough, so it has to be for you and not somebody else's idea of a goal. So, you know, potentially somebody might be, you know, wanting to launch a YouTube channel and you think, oh yeah, I I want that, but you don't really want it, you know. Maybe you want to set up other socials first. So think that it's an actual goal for you, for something you really, really want to achieve, and then that purpose will drive you towards it. So we've kind of gone into this and we've keep refining it as well because our deadlines are a little soft around the edges.
Evan:Yeah.
Fran:But we do actually have some 2026 goals to share with you. We've not actually put a time frame on them, so this is just the first introduction to it.
Evan:We're launching business training videos on Melancholy Coaching's YouTube channel. Self-improvement training is planned for later in the year. On the Mystery Mythos Radio Drama channel, I will be adding merchandise and other content. And I've already started this because I've been adding shorts this week. On the Melancholy Mentor Radio Drama Channel, we will be restarting the podcast highlighting channel episodes.
Fran:Okay, so this is mainly focused on our YouTube channels. Evan's channel Mystery Mythos has reached over a thousand subscribers, so that's been recently monetized. So things have changed a little bit with that channel, and that's given us both the purpose, I suppose, that drive to start building the channel even more because you get that thing that just incentivizes you. Because before then, it's just been a long road to achieve that. Like we're talking kind of two and three, two or three years in the in the making for these channels of building up the content and learning how to do it, because we do everything ourselves. Sass mystery mythos. That's mainly science fiction-based stuff, and then on the Melancholy Mentor YouTube channel, it's more aimed at classic literature, although there's a slight crossover between the channels. We do have a podcast on there that we're going to be restarting, and I'd love to add some more onto the channel, and that's just something in the back of my mind to think about. And then Melancholy Coaching, the YouTube channel is really small at the moment, so it is the attention is about growing that and then adding on the training videos that I've said for a whole year that I want to make, and I still haven't done it. So season six begins. Tune in to the upcoming interviews with other business owners to ignite inspiration and stay motivated. So the purpose of this podcast is literally just to and it's interview-based. So I I interview people with businesses or people on a path to self-improvement so that that can then incentivize and motivate and inspire listeners in within things that they can create or things that they can do, because there's so many ideas out there, there's so many different ways of going about things as well. That went all right, Evan. It was good. It was good. It was good, was it? It's so hard to describe the goal setting thing because it was something that we really did not understand like for a long time. And I'm just I feel so ridiculous that I didn't understand it, you know, and and but that's okay. Yeah, it's fine. Yeah, learn learning and growing, that's what it's all about.
Evan:Yeah.
