When God Dismantles What We Depend On | Exodus 9:13-10:29

Athens Church

In Exodus 9–10, God doesn’t just confront Pharaoh, He dismantles everything Egypt depends on. Through hail, locusts, and darkness, He exposes false gods and false securities of comfort, control, and clarity.

Before God leads us out of our own Egypt, He often shakes what we’ve been leaning on. Pharaoh wanted relief, not repentance, and we often do too. Yet God’s mercy continually presses in, not to punish us, but to free us.

Even in the darkness, His people walk in light. The same God who exposed Egypt’s idols still shines through our confusion today revealing what’s true and leading us toward freedom.
