Do Not Send Us Without You | Exodus 33

In Exodus 33, we’re faced with a searching question: would the life we want still be enough if God wasn’t in it? Israel is offered blessing, provision, and a future, but without God’s presence. Their grief reveals what’s really at stake, and Moses gives voice to it. “If your presence does not go with us, do not send us.” It’s a gentle but honest reminder of how easily we can chase good things while drifting from the One who gives them.

God’s response is full of grace. “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” That promise ultimately finds its fulfillment in Jesus, who brings us near to God. The invitation is simple. Turn back, let go of what’s competing for your heart, and choose His presence again. Where might you be holding onto the gifts, but missing the Giver?
