September 30th in pencil on mismatched paper Dear honey, Maryland wants to know why I write to you when I see you every week as you've noticed I'm using pencil the pen is leaking so badly that I decided not to use it till I get it cleaned and see if that helps All this drama over one pen and and I were having a debate over whether we should each cut our hair hers like mine is at the in-between stage where it's too short to be treated as long hair and too long to be treated like short hair so far neither of us has touched the scissors about tomorrow i think i'll trim the broken and straggly ends so it'll grow more yes it seems Faye
left school rather suddenly. Now everyone is curious, catty, and everything but nice in the things they say about her. No one knows why she left, but everyone feels free to venture a guess without labeling it as a wild guess. If she did leave legally, she'll find things a bit strange when she returns. You'll have to find some other room to visit now, dear. I'm wondering what all the little boys will do for a while. Tonight I wrote to Bly Curtis. I hope she answers fairly soon as I'm anxious to find out more about it. I got the pictures from Jafay's today. Yours is much nicer than I thought the proof would make up. The $5.50 one is better than I'd hoped for too. For some reason he made another six by eight like yours and two more of the five by seven 550 deals which he says I may have for ten dollars and two seventy five apiece. They keep them for a month while I make up my feeble mind about taking them. You may be unhappy with the way yours is made up. It may not fit in your frame because of the thickness but if it's not too thick you can cut the white edges down to fit most likely.

The restaurant and all the nearby restaurants were nearly empty all day long. By the end of the week and beginning next week, it may begin to pick up. I can't make up my mind whether I like rush crowds or not. They're all right for a short while at a time, I guess.

This paper is hard to flip.

You start work tomorrow, Wednesday, don't you? Sandra's heartthrob from Wyoming is coming down Saturday along with a friend or two. Since I will probably have to work either in the afternoon from one to five, two to six, or three to seven, I undoubtedly won't make it to the game. If I made it to the game, I'd end up working an evening shift, which I certainly don't want.

This is my last sheet of plain stationery. So if I don't quit when I get to the bottom of it, you'll get a sheet of notebook paper thrown in, which he did. Marilyn teases me because I always clean my ring. Twice in a row, I've gotten in bed, lights out, door shut, and come bounding out of the bedroom, little brush in hand to clean my ring. Once I started off to class and came back. I'm not crazy. I just like to sit and look at it all the time. And if it's not clean and completely free of soap, I can't keep my mind on the lecture for wondering when I can get back to the... to wield the little brush. I'm sure feel silly with this notebook paper. You should be thankful I'm not reduced to manuscript music staff paper. Right now I can't think of anything

More to say that I didn't say last night. So I'll say good night and goodbye till next time. All my love always Joyce. I love you so much. I'm lonesome so I guess you'll I'll reread your letters from last week. I take your picture to bed with me but I'm afraid I'd bend it. Good night my love and I love you. P.S. number two. I presume you've still got your beard.

What does it look like now? I just hope it isn't stiff and stick-stickery. Are you coming on the bus or getting a ride down on Friday?  I saw Stan on the street today, but just to say hi.
