Hockey Christian Parallels – Spiritual Warfare on Ice takes life’s spiritual struggles—fear, temptation, and discouragement—and places them in a high-stakes faceoff on the rink. Inspired by Scripture and timeless allegories like Pilgrim’s Progress, the series transforms destructive forces like Fear, Condemnation, Gluttony, and Depression into rival players battling against God’s team: Faith, Love, Joy, Forgiveness, Restraint, and Boldness. These aren’t just character traits—they’re spiritual weapons for victory.
📣 Each episode delivers locker room wisdom and play-by-play inspiration. Watch Boldness slam into Fear, Joy outskate Depression, and Righteousness shut down Condemnation’s final push. The action captures the daily spiritual warfare that believers know all too well.
🦁 This isn’t just storytelling—it’s a call to get off the bench and into the spiritual game. As Proverbs 28:1 declares, “The righteous are as bold as a lion.” It takes grit, faith, and God-led courage to claim the win. So lace up, grab your gear, and charge forward in pursuit of the divine goal line.
qualities or characters characteristics of spiritual forces we could say it that way kind of bring them to life where uh fear things like spirit of fear or condemnation or misery or other other destructive forces won't just be ideas anymore but they'll take to the ice as players they'll take to the ice as players with real personalities and strategies trying to dominate the game and but they won't go unchallenged because on the positive side we're going to have god-given qualities like face, boldness, love, joy, forgiveness, and others, where they'll all step out onto the rink. It's somewhat similar to the John Bunyan story, Pilgrim's Progress, where characteristics of ways of thinking uh took on a on a on a life and uh my goal is for you the reader to see yourself in these characters and you may find you have certain qualities of all the characters in you but when you when you see them playing out on what we say using hockey as an analogy see them playing out their play on the ice i think you might find it well bring an inspiration and an insight, like perhaps that might strike home more closely for you to see how everything relates to your life in real terms. I want you to feel the momentum shift you're going to see where, you know, things like where joy breaks through depression or where boldness spirit of God boldness anointed levels fear in or many other aspects we'll we'll get into as well it'd be like a mirror or a playbook and a call to action so Lace up your spiritual skates if you wanna, if I could put it that way. Let's lace up our skates. Make sure our equipment is on secure and let the game begin, okay? off here we're going to have um the spirit of fear and we're going to say that he is the captain he's like the captain of the devilish players on on the ice and again envision that they're all hockey players going against god's good team and they all have different names of what their their characteristics are but uh this is the devilish player spirit of fear and he's speaking in the dressing room before the game to the people on to the forces on his team and here's his here's his uh little speech here okay listen up all of you tonight is not about skill we really don't have any i mean jesus he already defeated us but they don't know that or They act like that's not always true. Our job is to deceive them, to convince them that it's not true. And with some, it's not too hard to do. What we have is control. We have manipulation. We need to get into their heads before the puck drops. Condemnation? Player condemnation, let me tell you. I want you, here's your assignment. I want you to remind them of every mistake they've ever made. Whisper it until their confidence crumbles. Player misery, I want you to skate heavy. Fill the air with cold, gray hopelessness. Player passivity. Make them drift. Even if one of them lets the opportunity slip by, we will win and grind them into the ice. Make them feel that nothing they do can succeed. And make them take away their fight from them. Player gluttony, you have a place to play here. You can slow them down. Tempt them with overindulgence and with distractions. Player torment, right after them, after every mistake, make them dread the next shift. Let them think it's their own mind turning against them. Whatever you do, don't leave the impression that this is a wrong spirit that's tormenting them. But let their own minds deceive them. You just keep putting in some doubt and make them feel bad all the time. That's the main thing you gotta do. Make them feel bad all the time. Get their mind off their redemption they have in Christ. through the blood of Jesus. Get their mind off of that. Player envy. You keep them comparing each other to themselves. Focus on what others have and stirring up resentment in them. Now, player doubt. You make them question every choice. Keep them unstable. And pride. Inflate their egos. Make them... death to correction. Let them think they really don't need God or prayer, you know, that they've got this on their own. And me, well, I'm the spirit of fear. And I move with the coach, the devil here. But I'm everywhere out there on the ice and I'll try to be. I'll put dread in them wherever I find them. don't hardly need to touch them though that's one i'm one of the best scorers on this team as you know because most of the time fear alone defeats them they embrace fear over faith a great many of them will because they don't have confidence in the in the love of god but they should um but listen hope is our enemy and light is too and if The good player joy ever gets loose, the joy of the Lord. If he gets loose out there, you shut him down fast. You know, you smother him. The joy of the Lord is their strengths. And if they grab hold on to that joy, if they'll start standing, then they'll stop quitting. Now, keep in mind, that's dangerous to us. So... We are the shadows that they can't shake, the voices that they can't silence. That's how you need to believe about our efforts here, that we will succeed. So let's get out there on the ice and let's make them fear the game, the game of life. You know, they really can't achieve anything. It's just poor old them. And they're like orphans out there. Let's make them afraid to live boldly. Let's taunt them, let's haunt them. And if any of them dares to stand tall, we'll take their number and we'll make them wish they hadn't. So let's go. The ice is waiting. Okay, so we'll... go to another player here, and I trust that you enjoyed that concept. Sometime when you see our enemies played out as if they were real players, it gives you a graphic. It gives you a picture that's worth more than a thousand words sometimes. Okay, now let's do this. We're going to hear I want you to hear a conversation that good player on God's team, good player whose name is Boldness, that he encouraged his team, God's team, before the game started. Okay. Suddenly the door opened and in walked Boldness into the dressing room He stood tall, shoulders squared, eyes steady like a fire that wouldn't flicker. Isn't that good to be like a fire that doesn't flicker in our Christian commitment to God?
UNKNOWN:Anyways, the room lifted their heads.
SPEAKER_00:Listen up, boldness said, voice ringing like a trumpet blast. I know who's been waiting on the other side of that tunnel. So do you. We've seen their tricks. We've heard their trash talk. They like to skate fast. They like to hit hard and twist lines.
UNKNOWN:But hear me now. We weren't built to shrink back.
SPEAKER_00:We're going to cast down wrong imaginations and heavy icing which exalts itself against the knowledge of God. They call me boldness for a reason, not because I'm the biggest or the fastest, but because I don't run. And neither will you, not today, not ever. A low murmur of agreement rippled through the room. Boldness pointed to the locker wall where a verse was painted, the righteous are as bold as a lion. Proverbs 28, one. That's who we are. He declared, we're not like them. We're closed in righteousness, wrapped in the love of God and filled with power from the Holy Spirit. That's what sets us apart.
UNKNOWN:This isn't just a game. It's a stand, a declaration.
SPEAKER_00:We represent the kingdom today. And boldness, he looked at each player in the eye and he said, now listen, when fear comes, flies down the ice, you skate straight at him. When condemnation starts his whispers, you shout the truths. When darkness tries to blindside you, you shine brighter. We don't skate with arrogance, but we skate with authority. You know what they fear the most? Boldness asks, grinning. They fear the moment you stop doubting who you are. They fear the sound of a team that believes. That's what they fear. It's time to make the spirit of fear have fear himself. The team that roars with courage and skates with purpose, that's us. And we have Jesus. We have his power and his life flowing through us. Never forget that. Boldness grabbed his helmet and slapped it on. Now, today we don't tippy-toe out there on the rink of life, on the spiritual ice. No, we charge out shoulder to shoulder in unity, word and spirit. Let them come and let them give it all they've got. It won't be enough. Just keep remembering that and declare that it won't be enough. The greater one. dwells in us and he's greater than any any problem we may face we resist the devil and his forces and they will flee from us when we hit that ice every demon out there that uh haunts someone watching in the stands they'll they'll feel the tremble of our stride We skate not just for ourselves, but for every soul watching who needs to know. You don't have to live afraid. Then quieter boldness said, now let us make heaven proud today. Let's skate like people who knows they've already won, okay? Let's not be whimpering. Let's not be cowering down. Let's keep a smile on our faith, whether you feel like it or not. Embrace the word of God because of the blood, the blood of Jesus. It's made us just as if we'd never sin. And our Lord said, our Lord said he would never leave us nor forsake us so that we may boldly say, boldly say, Boldly, that's my name, so that we may boldly say, the Lord is my helper.
UNKNOWN:Because of the precious blood of Jesus, because of the cross, and because we belong to the king.
SPEAKER_00:Say after me, we belong to the king. Boldness turned and raised his stick high.
UNKNOWN:Let's do this. The room erupted with energy. Sticks hit the floor.
SPEAKER_00:Gloves slapped backs of other players and hearts united with a holy fire. And out they went, boldness leading the charge. So that was one other example of good players. Boldness, encouraging, and inspiring his other good players. Let's get back to the game. Let's go into the game here. And let's see some of these players playing against each other in the first period. Okay, the stadium lights blazed across the ice as team, God's team, jesus team took their positions against the notorious devil team of darkness the fans could feel the tension in the air this was no ordinary match and the first period was about to begin now as center ice stood face his eyes fixed on the go ahead unwavering opposite him was fear twitching and tense, whispering delts toward the bench. The puck dropped, phase one, the face off was a confident flick, tapping it back to Diligence who never slacked, even in warmups. Diligence immediately got to work, you know, that's what Diligence does. Weaving between defenders with the poise of someone who'd practiced day and night Poor man tried to throw him off with harsh slashes and angry snares, snarls, but diligence never looked up, never panicked, just pressed forward with focus. That's a good statement. We need to press forward with focus. you know, follow Diligent's lead. As Diligent crossed the blue line, he passed wide to Joy, who skated with a brightness that seemed to light up the arena itself. Joy's stick handling was like music, drawing the crowd into rhythm. Despair tried to slam him into the boards, but Joy just laughed. And literally, and danced around him was a spin. Despair stumbled, weighed down by his own darkness, unable to match joy's freedom. Meanwhile, boldness was crashing the net, fearless and loud. He shouted encouragement to his teammates, even as condemnation tried to shadow him. Condemnation hurled guilt and regrets like pucks to the chest, but boldness puffed up and declared, I'm being forgiven. I am clean. That's what we need to do boldly, folks. Boldly declare what Jesus has done for us, whether your natural mind may even feel like it or not. Boldness declarations echoed like thunder, breaking condemnation's momentum. See, that's it, that's a good thought. Condemnation, you don't want that to gain any momentum in your life or have any place whatsoever. Then came hope, skating gracefully behind the play, watching and anticipating. He wasn't fast like boldness or flashy like joy, but his presence kept everyone steady. Whenever a player faltered, hope was there whispering, we're not finished, there's more ahead, be encouraged. Despair tried to knock hope off his balance, whispering lies that it was all pointless. But Hope gently smiled and whispered back, not today. Then Love took to the ice, player Love, and there was a shift in the atmosphere. His skating was smooth and patient and powerful. The devil's player hate came barreling at him, but Love absorbed the impact and kept going. He didn't retaliate. He didn't flinch. He passed the puck back to face with perfect timing. Hate hissed and furious, but love simply whispered, I never fail. The Bible says love never fails. With the puck back on face stick and time ticking down in the period, the crowd stood on its feet. Spirit of fear from the devil's team. Fear tried one last time to intercept, lurching across the ice to block the shot. But Faith, without hesitation, snapped a clean wrist shot, powered not just by confidence, but by deep trust in the one who sent him. The puck screamed past fear, past condemnation, past despair and past a goaltender dealt who was too unsure to react. It was a goal. The horn blared. God's team had broken through. Joy spun in circles and boldness banged a stick on the boards, hope lifted his hands to the sky and Diligent simply nodded and skated to the bench ready for more. Faith gave credit to where it was due, pointing upward to Jesus and God with a smile. On the other side, darkness seized, fear trembled harder, and condemnation sat with his head in his hands. Despair lay slumped on the bench, and hate yelled and slammed his stick, but the crowd wasn't listening. because in that first period, the light had broken through and it was only the beginning. So I thought you might like that. We could call that a first period play. We'll maybe look at other plays up ahead. Okay, now let's look at a good player on God's team. good player discipline, and he's playing against the bad player reckless, or the lack of, the opposite of discipline. We'll call his name Reckless. He's a player on the devil's side. And this is how they played on the ice. Okay, the puck dropped at center ice, and good player disciplined skated toward with quiet determination there was nothing flashy about his play no wild rushes no over the top wrists but every move discipline made was calculated and with purpose he knew when to push and when to hold back and how to play was in the boundaries of the game plan His passes were sharp, his defense was airtight. He made the others around him simply better by holding the line. Across from him was bad player Reckless from the Devils team. Fast? Yeah, he was fast and flashy, absolutely. But predictable? Not at all. Reckless started across the ice with abandon, chasing every puck like a dog chasing cars. That's kind of a good analogy. When you're reckless or you're without discipline, you're like a dog chasing cars. You know, reckless, overcommitted, left his position, ignored his coach's instruction, and tried to make solo plays that left his team exposed. It was not long before he turned the puck over and Discipline intercepted. With a converse of speed, Discipline didn't just skate by reckless or lack of discipline, he outclassed him.
UNKNOWN:While reckless or lack of discipline flailed behind him, gasping and frustrated, discipline remained steady, focused and controlled. That's what we need to be folks as Christians, right? We need to be steady, focused and controlled.
SPEAKER_00:He set up a perfect assist leading to a goal. No glory grabbing celebration, just a nod and a glide back into position. After the whistle, reckless or lack of discipline slammed his stick in frustration. His energy was gone. His choices had caught up with him. Discipline, on the other hand, never broke stride. And Proverbs chapter 12, verse one says, whoever loves discipline loves knowledge. And on the ice, knowledge was power. from Proverbs 21, no, from Proverbs 12 verse one. Okay, let's look at this. Plays between four players. Love and unity. Playing against discord and division. Okay, the puck dropped. Love and unity moved in harmony. Skating. in a symphony in motion on the opposing side. Discord and Division scrambled, yelling at each other, even as they tried to coordinate. Pass the puck, Discord. Division barked. Do it yourself, Discord snapped, chasing the puck on its own. Their chaos worked against them. Meanwhile, Unity deflected a hit and passed cleanly to Love. Their connection was seamless. No confusion, no ego, just trust. Love weaved through defenders, then dropped the puck back without looking. Unity was already there. Goal. They scored a goal. The crowd erupted. On the bench, Division slammed his stick. You are out of position. Discord sneered. Maybe if you weren't always second-guessing. But on the other bench, Love and Unity bumped gloves quietly. They didn't shout, they didn't need to. Their strength was in oneness. Back on the ice, Unity turned to player Love and said, let's keep showing them. Love smiled. As Discord and Unity fell deeper into strife, Love and Unity just kept skating. One purpose, one heart, one unbreakable bond. Okay, let's go to this one, this player on the ice. And this player on the ice, his name is a good godly player on God's team. And his name is called Speak to Your Mountains. That's the name of the player, Speak to Your Mountains. Kind of a long name for a player. But Jesus said in Mark 11, 23, whosoever shall say unto their mountains, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea and shall not doubt in their heart, but shall believe that those things which he sayeth shall come to pass.
UNKNOWN:He shall have whatsoever he sayeth.
SPEAKER_00:So let's watch how speak to your mountains player. performs on the ice. Okay, the ice was crowded with trouble, fear, condemnation, doubt, and depression. Skated aggressively, pushing the good team back. Players on the bench began to slump, weighed down by discouragement. That's when speak to your mountains, jump the boards. and came onto the ice. He didn't hesitate. Skating to center ice, speak to your mountains, he planted his stick and raised his voice and shouted, be removed and cast into the sea. The words echoed like thunder. Fear stumbled. Doubt lost control of the puck. Condemnation wavered, gripping his helmet. depression backed up confused. Speak to your mountains pointed at them one by one. I am more than a conqueror. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. There is now no condemnation in me for I am in Christ Jesus and the joy of the Lord is my strength. Each declaration was a strike. Fear dropped to his knees. Doubt collapsed. Condemnation fell against the boards. And depression slunk away like fog at sunrise. The arena shifted. Light flooded in. The team on the bench stood awakened. Speak to your mountains turned and shouted. Don't whisper to your problems. Speak to them.
UNKNOWN:Command them to be removed.
SPEAKER_00:The word wins every time. The scoreboard lit up. Heaven's team was ahead again. Now, as this play was happening, there was a... the period was over and they went for intermission and speak to your mountains was in the locker room and the dressing room and he is given given the rest of the players a little talk about what they had just seen and speak to your mountains said to all the other good players he said with a voice steady that that was a lesson he pointed to his chest this isn't about hype it's about authority jesus said whoever would speak to his mountains be removed and doesn't doubt it will be done mark 11 23 you've got to say it every day every moment you're out there skating declare decree joy peace and face nodded Don't wait until you're down to speak up, he continued. Start your day and start the game declaring who you are in Christ. Say, I am the righteousness of God by the blood. I walk in victory. I overcome by the word of God and the blood of the lamb. Diligent scribbled notes, hope stood straighter. Mountains don't move because you feel strong. They move because the word is strong. The mountains don't move because you're strong. They move because the word is strong. Speak it when you're weak and you'll feel strengths arise. Speak it in fear and fear will fall. Speak to your mountain, step back and smile. The enemy wins when you stay silent. But when you speak God's truth, darkness scatters. The room erupted in cheers. Well, praise God. So I trust you're enjoying all these players from God's team going against the player of the devil's team. It kind of reminds me of... Pilgrim's Progress, the same idea. Fictional characters going on taking personality. Look at another couple players here. A player from God's team called Light. Player Light against player Darkness on the Devil's team. Okay, the arena was fairly quiet. as this team skated on the ice. On one side, cloaked in shadow, was the devilish player Darkness, a towering presence and sneering behind a black visor. Opposing him was good player Light from God's kingdom. and god's team clad in radiant white and gold skating with quiet confidence as the puck dropped tension cracked like lightning in the stands darkness moved with deceit sneaky intimidating throwing elbows of discouragement and clouds of confusion spectators felt a chill whenever he passed This is my ice, darkness crowd. You don't belong here. But light didn't flinch. He glided with purpose, with purity, and with power that didn't come from muscle but from truce. The light shines in the darkness, he said, under his breast. And the darkness has not overcome it. John 1, verse 5. With every pass, light revealed what darkness tried to hide, hope, courage, and truce. The ice began to sparkle under his skates, and every shot he took echoed with words like, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but he will have the light of life. John 8, 12. Darkness... tried to blindside him. He rushed in for a crushing hit, but light dodged and delivered a glowing check to the heart. The collision sent darkness spinning into the boards. The crowd gasped as shadows fell off like broken armor. light raised to stick you are all the children of light and children of the day we do not belong to the night nor to the darkness first thessalonians 5 5 was one final blazing shot fueled by faith and truce light scored the puck tore tore through the air like a bolt of lightning The goal horn roared. Darkness slumped, defeated, shrinking back into the shadows. Light skated a victory lap, his brilliance unshaken. And as he passed by his teammates, he whispered, arise and shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. Light prevailed. And the crowds shouted praises and pushed darkness beyond the rink. So I trust you've enjoyed some of those sessions there. And we'll pick up on, we'll pick up in the next part. And we will continue down this road way of seeing how these renowned characters attributes of the spirit and mind as they play the as as they play out what what they would be doing on the ice and it's it's very When you see it in a graphic way, it alerts us and it brings to our mind that, look, we're the masters of our fate in the sense that we have Jesus. And nobody can push us into a place where we're not prepared if we will stand on the word of God. We do not need to have any fear against the devil. And the kingdoms of this world, there's two kingdoms of light. The kingdom of light and life of our Father's dear Son, Jesus. Praise God. If you like this video, much appreciated if you could give it a like or give a comment down so we can get a feel and know that we blessed you, that you're finding these things are inspirational and they help you keep your... uh that these will keep you motivated and on fire for god and because the bible says without a vision my people perish so we'll pick up on one more session and in the next part and much appreciated if you could leave a like or a comment or even uh invite a friend to listen to these segments because I believe they will find it very much interesting. Okay, God bless.
