Feeling drained from saying “yes” to everyone—and still going unnoticed? In this kickoff episode of the Reset & Reclaim Podcast, Nardin explores why we default to people-pleasing, how it chips away at our self-worth, and three simple strategies to flip the script:

  1. Notice & Name – Learn the “Yes/No Inventory” reflection to pause before you agree.
  2. Boundary Language – Discover easy go-to phrases to say “no” without guilt.
  3. Inner Approval – Cultivate self-worth from within with a daily affirmation practice.

Plus, enjoy a quick on-the-go grounding exercise you can do anywhere—whether you’re commuting, cooking, or folding laundry.

Every “no” is a “yes” to yourself—keep reclaiming your voice!

Hey everyone, and welcome to the very first episode of the Reset & Reclaim Podcast, brought to you by Empower Life Coach. You’re in the right place to reclaim your voice, your power, and your inner peace. Each week, we’ll dive into real-life challenges—like shame, boundary-setting, self-compassion, and finding that inner calm—so you can reset old patterns and step into your true strength.

In upcoming episodes, we’ll share simple mindset shifts to break free from guilt and people-pleasing, walk through guided exercises and mini coaching demos, chat with inspiring guests who’ve transformed their lives, and point you to freebies, journal prompts, and meditation tracks on our site.

But today—Episode One—we’re tackling a big one: feeling completely wiped out from saying “yes” to everyone…and still feeling invisible. Sound familiar? Let’s jump in.

I heard a story about someone who took on a huge team project—even though their plate was already overflowing. They ended up scrambling, stressed, and honestly a bit resentful. When they asked for support, silence followed—and they felt totally ghosted in their own life. If you’ve ever put everyone else’s needs first and ended up empty, you’re not alone.

People-pleasing often comes from shame, fear of rejection, or chasing perfection. It gives a quick hit of approval, but over time chips away at our self-worth and leaves us totally drained.

First step: Notice & Name. Before you say “yes,” pause and take a breath. Ask yourself, “Am I choosing this from possibility or obligation?” In Chapter Two of the new eBook—Breaking the Cycle – Reclaiming Your Voice, Power & Inner Peace—you’ll find a Yes/No Inventory worksheet that guides you through this reflection. It’s included inside the eBook once you purchase it on Amazon.

Next: Practice Boundary Language. Having go-to lines makes saying “no” feel so much easier. Try these:

– “I’d love to help, but I’m maxed out right now.”

– “Let me check my calendar and get back to you.”

– “Here’s what I can do instead…”

Flip them to fit your own voice, and say them out loud a few times in the car or while you’re tidying up—so they sound natural when you need them.

Finally: Cultivate Inner Approval. Your worth isn’t about how many times you say “yes”—it comes from within. Here’s an affirmation you can set as a daily reminder on your phone:

“I am worthy of respect and rest. Saying no is saying yes to myself.”

To get this affirmation audio and other tools, visit empowerlifecoachca.com, click the “Free Resources” menu, and look under that section for “Daily Affirmations.”

Alright, here’s a quick grounding you can do anytime you’re on the go. Close your eyes for one breath—think of the last time you said “yes” but really meant “no.” Notice where you feel that—in your chest, shoulders, belly. Breathe in compassion for yourself…and exhale, releasing the need to earn approval. You deserve rest.
