Hi, and welcome back to This Week in St. Louis. I'm Bryce from STL Bucketlist. It's finally starting to feel like spring here, and this weekend is a big one. We've got Easter, which means brunch plans, egg hunts, and a lot of family friendly stuff, but also some really fun events if you're trying to get out of the house. So whether you're planning something with your family, your friends, or just looking for something to do, there's a lot going on this weekend. Let's get into it. Before we get into it, this episode is brought to you by Hoffman Brothers. If you're in St. Louis, you already know how unpredictable this time of the year can be. One day it's warm, the next you're turning your heat back on. So if something's not working the way it should, Hoffman Brothers is who you should call. They've been around forever, they're super reliable, and they handle heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical. Basically anything you don't want to deal with yourself. So if you need anything fixed, definitely keep Hoffman Brothers in mind. All right, let's get into it. And honestly, we have to start with Easter weekend because it is packed. If you're looking for something really classic and family friendly, there are a few standout options. One of the bigger experiences is the Grants Farm Easter brunch and egg hunt happening throughout the weekend over at Grants Farm. This is one of those full-on experiences. You're getting a big brunch buffet, egg hunts for the kids, time to explore the property, and of course, visits with the animals and the Easter bunny. It's definitely more of a make a morning out of it kind of plan. Another really fun option, especially if you have younger kids, is the flippity flop breakfast at Eckertz. This one is super cute and a little more casual. Think sprinkle pancakes, a bunny themed breakfast, and just a really easy festive way to start your day before heading into other Easter activities. Now, if you want to switch things up a bit, there's also the underwater egg hunt in Maryland Heights. And yes, it is exactly what it sounds like. This one's happening at an indoor aquatic center. So kids are literally swimming to find eggs. Definitely something different if you've done the traditional egg hunts before. And speaking of egg hunts, there's actually one for adults too. Eckertz is hosting an adult Easter egg hunt, and this is honestly such a fun concept. You're out in the fields searching for eggs, but instead of candy, you've got things like prizes, treats, and even the chance to win cash or bigger giveaways. So if you still want that nostalgic feeling, but with a little more excitement, that's a good one. Then heading into Saturday, you've got a few more big community style events. The Gateway Grizzlies Easter egg hunt at the ballpark is always a solid option. It's very much that classic spring morning vibe: kids running around, inflatables, face painting, meeting the mascot, and just a lot going on all in one place. There's also the Easter egg hunt and pancake breakfast at Brookdale Farms, which feels a little more like a countryside spring morning. You've got breakfast with the Easter bunny, then egg hunts, games, and just a really relaxed outdoor setting. And one of my personal favorite events of the weekend, the Ledoux Egg hunt for pets. This is literally an Easter egg hunt for dogs. Thousands of eggs filled with treats, dogs running around, chaos in the best way. It's honestly so fun to watch, even if you don't have a dog. Now transitioning from egg hunts to what might honestly be the main event for a lot of people this weekend, brunch. If you're planning your Easter Sunday around food, you have a lot of options and they range from super elevated to more casual. For something really upscale, places like the Preston and Casa Don Alfonso are doing full Easter brunch experiences with curated menus, seafood, carved meats, pasta dishes, very much a treat yourself kind of meal. Missouri Botanical Garden is also hosting an Easter brunch, which is cool because your ticket includes garden admission. So you can eat, then go walk around and enjoy everything in bloom, which is kind of perfect for this time of year. If you want something a little more energetic and social, Cardinals Nation is doing a big brunch downtown with made-to-order stations and a really fun atmosphere. And then you've got places like 612 North and City Winery offering those classic buffet style brunches where you can kind of sample everything: sweet, savory, heavier dishes, lighter options, all of it. There's also a brunch with the bunny happening at Le Meridian and Clayton, which is great if you're trying to combine a nice brunch with something a little more family-oriented. And then completely switching gears for a second, Saturday also has the margarita festival at Frankie Martin's Garden. This one is very different energy from Easter brunch, but honestly kind of perfect if you're looking for something fun with friends. It's a big tasting event where you can try different margaritas, vote on your favorites, and just hang out outside. Definitely more of a day drinking, spring kickoff vibe. All right, so if your weekend plans are less about brunch and more about getting out and doing something fun, there's a solid mix of entertainment happening too. First up, something big and high energy, WWE is coming to Enterprise Center. It's part of the road to WrestleMania. So if you're into wrestling at all, this is a pretty major event with a really fun crowd atmosphere. On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, you've got Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Fabulous Fox. This is a full Broadway production. And if you've heard anything about it, you know it's really immersive, visually insane of a show. Definitely worth checking out if you like theater or anything Harry Potter related. And then for something a little more low-key and artsy, First Fridays at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation is happening. This is one of those easy Friday night plans where you can just stop in, walk through the exhibits, maybe grab a drink, and keep the night going after. And on Friday, acclaimed Grammy nominated Bayou Blues guitarist and vocalist Tab Benoit kicks off his soul of the swamp tour with a local performance at the Sauvenir. Tickets are still available, so be sure to get yours before they run out. And if you're trying to get outside and enjoy the weather a bit, there are a couple options worth mentioning. There's a Pilates in the Park session happening at the World's Fair Pavilion. It's all levels, super laid back, and honestly just a nice way to start your day if you want something active but not too intense. And then one of the more unique events of the weekend is the Easter Concourse Day Elegance Car Show in Forest Park. This is a big gathering of antique and classic cars, some of them over a hundred years old. And it's one of those events where you can just walk around, take your time, and appreciate something a little different. And if you're not calling it an early night this weekend, there's a Bollywood fever party happening in Seular, which is exactly what it sounds like. A high-energy mix of Bollywood, hip hop, and dance music. Definitely more of a late night dancing kind of vibe if you're trying to keep the weekend going. And since it's Easter weekend, we had to make Flavors of the Lou all about brunch because let's be honest, that's probably the main event for a lot of you. First, the Clover and the Bee. This is one of those places that just feels like spring. It's bright, it's fresh, and their menu leans a little more seasonal and lighter. It's perfect if you want something a little more relaxed and not super heavy. Next is Songbird. And if you know, you know. This is one of the best brunch spots in the city, hands down. Definitely expect it to be busy, especially this weekend, but it's one of those places that lives up to the hype. And then Bowwood by Niche. This one's a little more of an experience. It's inside a garden space, so it's super pretty, especially this time of year. The food is great, but the atmosphere is really what makes it. It's a good option if you want something that feels a little more elevated, but still really laid back. So if you're still figuring out your brunch plans, those are three you really can't go wrong with. Be sure to check out the full lineup on our Instagram at STL Bucket List. And we have a new spot for you to check out this week: a build your own ramen bar, Cafe Gennadara, and Chicken Seven just relocated to a brand new shared space, bringing great food back to this iconic location in on Jamison where mom's deli used to be. They have delicious Korean food and fried chicken with Korean pouch drinks. Definitely be sure to add it to your STL bucket list. All right, that's everything going on this weekend. If you end up checking out anything, be sure to tag us at STL bucket list so that we can see what you're up to. New episodes drop every week. So make sure you're following along for more things to do around St. Louis.
