Hey guys, welcome back to This Week in St. Louis. I'm Bryce from STL Bucketlist, and we are officially in that sweet spot of spring in St. Louis. Everything's starting to bloom. Patios are filling up again, and the city just feels alive. This is one of those weekends where you can really lean into being outside, trying something new, or just saying yes to plans you normally wouldn't. And honestly, this weekend is packed in a way that feels fun, not overwhelming. There's a little bit of everything: sports, festivals, live shows, markets. So whether you're trying to be out all day or just looking for one good thing to do, you've got options. So let's get into it. This week in St. Louis is presented by Hoffman Brothers, trusted by St. Louis families and businesses for over 40 years. Whether it's your AC, water heater, plumbing, or even EV charging, Hoffman Brothers has you covered. Local, licensed, family-owned, book your service at HoffmanBros.com. Big thanks to them for supporting local stories like this one. All right, so let's start with the kind of events that just feel like spring. Getting outside, walking around, and soaking it all in. One of the biggest things happening this weekend is the St. Louis Earth Day Festival over at the Muni Grounds in Forest Park. This is happening all weekend long, and it's one of those events where you can easily spend a few hours without even realizing it. There are hundreds of vendors, local food, live music, and a big focus on sustainability, but in a way that feels fun and interactive. It's not just informational, it's actually a good time. Also happening this weekend is the Crawfish Festival at Broadway Oyster Bar, which is always a crowd favorite. This runs Friday into Saturday. And if you've never been, it's exactly what you want it to be. Great food, live music, and just a really lively, laid-back atmosphere. It's one of those places where you go for a little bit and end up staying way longer than you planned. And if you're in more of a browsing, shopping, strolling mood, the 11th annual Country Craft Festival at historic Sappington House is happening all weekend too. Think handmade goods, local vendors, live music, just a really relaxed outdoor setup. It's perfect if you want something low pressure where you can just wander and take your time. Now, if you're looking for something a little more local and community driven, there are a couple really good options to check out. The DADAH market at Webster University. It's happening Saturday, and this one's really cool because it features art from current students. So you're getting everything from prints and paintings to jewelry and ceramics, all super unique and supporting local artists at the same time. It's a great place to find something you're definitely not going to see anywhere else. Also on Friday, the St. Louis Herb Society herb sale is happening at the Missouri Botanical Garden. And even if you don't consider yourself a plant person, this is a good entry point. There are thousands of herb plants, tons of variety in people there who can actually help you figure out what you're doing. So if you've been wanting to get into gardening or just add something new to your space, this is a really easy way to do it. And if you want something that mixes nature with a little bit of learning, there's also an Arbor Day event and walking tour at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arbitorium on Friday. It's one of those hidden gems in St. Louis, really beautiful, really peaceful, and they're doing guided tours plus giving away tree saplings, which is kind of amazing. All right, shifting gears a little bit. If your weekend revolves around sports, this is a really good one. The St. Louis Cardinals are back at Bush Stadium taking on the Seattle Mariners all weekend long. And honestly, there's nothing more classic than a spring Cardinals game. Whether you're going Friday night or during the day over the weekend, it's just one of those staple St. Louis experiences that never gets old. And if soccer is more your thing, St. Louis City FC is playing at Energizer Park on Saturday night against the San Jose Earthquakes. The energy at these games is unreal. Even if you're not a huge soccer fan, it's worth going just for the atmosphere. Before that game, there's also the Lewigan Street Party at Schlafley Taproom, which is basically the pregame spot. Food, drinks, music, fans, it's a whole vibe and a really fun way to kick off the night before heading into the stadium. And one more that's a little different, the St. Louis Slam women's football team has their home opener on Saturday. They're coming off a back-to-back championship, so you're getting a really high level of play, but it's also super accessible and family friendly. It's one of those events that's just fun, whether you're a big football person or not. Now, if your weekend plans are more about going out at night, this is where things really pick up. There's a ton of live entertainment happening, starting with Beetlejuice at the fabulous Fox Theater running all weekend. If you've seen the movie, you kind of know the vibe. It's funny, a little chaotic, really entertaining, and the stage production brings all of that to life in a big way. Comedy-wise, you've got some major names in town. Chelsea Hanler is performing Friday night at the factory and the We Them ones comedy tour at Shea Fitz Arena the same night, featuring multiple big comedians all in one show. So you've got options depending on your style of humor. There's also something a little more unique happening at the pageant, the psychology of serial killers, hosted by Dr. Rachel Tolles. It's part presentation, part deep dive into true crime. And if you're someone who loves documentaries or podcasts in that space, this is right up your alley. And then on Saturday, Michelle Buteau is also at the pageant, bringing a completely different comedy style, super high energy, really sharp, and just a fun night out. For music, you've got Hail of the Sun at Delmar Hall on Friday, and the Stars Tour featuring Anne Wilson at Stiefle Theater on Saturday. You're looking for something a little more on the live music side. And then for a totally different kind of night, One Direction night at the Hawthorne, which is exactly what it sounds like. Pure nostalgia, dancing, screaming the lyrics. It's chaotic in the best way, and honestly, just a really fun idea for a night out with friends. Now it's time for our Flavors of the Lou. And with this weather, we're talking patios. First up, Sasha's wine bar with locations in Demon and Shaw. It's one of those easy go-to spots, good wine, small plates, and really solid patio setups at both locations. Then you've got Broadway Oyster Bar downtown. This one's always a good time, live music, Cajun food, and a patio that actually feels like something's going on. And then Scarlet's wine bar in the Central West End, a little more low-key, but a really good spot if you want something quieter that still feels like a night out. For the full lineup, visit our Instagram at STL Bucket list and see which patio is speaking to you this weekend. We have a new spot for you to check out this week, Keepsick Candle Company in Edwardsville. The candle shop focuses on clean, non-toxic candles that look as good as they smell. You can book a workshop and make your own custom candle or even bring something from home to turn into a candle. It's a super fun activity for a date night, girls' night, or just on your own. Be sure to head to our Instagram for the full reel on the experience and let us know if you go check them out. All right, that's everything I've got for you guys this week. Like I said, this is one of those weekends where you really can't go wrong. Whether you're outside at a festival, at a game, or just trying something new, St. Louis is showing up in the best way right now. If you end up checking out anything from this list, make sure to tag us at a steal bucket list. We love seeing what you guys are out doing. And as always, we drop new episodes every single week to keep you in the loop on what's happening around the city. Have a great weekend and we'll see you out there.
