This is one of those weekends where the calendar is genuinely packed with meaningful stuff. Juneteenth is Friday, June 19th, and the city is celebrating all weekend long. On top of that, the World Cup is still rolling. Father's Day is Sunday, and there's live music every single night. It's a full festival, community-driven weekend, and there's truly something for everyone. Let's get into it. We'll start with Juneteenth because this weekend the city is really showing up for it and there are celebrations happening across the entire region. At the St. Louis Art Museum, nonprofit Frizzy by Nature is presenting Rest Reimagined on Friday, an immersive experience with morning yoga in the sculpture garden, followed by meditation, sound bowl sessions, and local black-owned businesses set up on the sculpture terrace. It's a grounding, intentional way to honor the holiday. The Missouri History Museum is hosting a Juneteent family fun morning on Friday with storytelling of movement workshop with dance instructor Mama Lisa, guided tours through the Mill Creek, Black Metropolis exhibit, a step team performance, crafts, and a scavenger hunt through the galleries. It's free, it's great for young kids, and it runs through early afternoon. Over in East St. Louis, the Freedom of Equity Festival takes over Jones Park all day Friday, opening with a motorcade and flag raising ceremony at City Hall, then a full day of vendors, music, food, and community resources, free and open to everyone. In Delwood, Juneteenth, STL is hosting their parade and celebration on Friday with programming continuing through the weekend, including a scholarship brunch Saturday and a revival service Sunday. And at the Griot Museum of Black History, their third annual Juneteenth festival runs Friday afternoon into the evening with music, storytelling, food, and family-friendly activities. Then Friday evening at Pal Symphony Hall, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra presents Soul of a People, a Juneteenth celebration of black music conducted by Kevin Macbeth, featuring powerhouse vocalists Lakeisha Jones and Ryan Shaw alongside the SLSO and in Unison Chorus. Aretha, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Sam Cook, Bill Withers. It's going to be a really beautiful night. Now, alongside all of that, Team USA plays Australia on Friday afternoon, and the watch party scene is ready for it. St. Louis City SC is hosting inside the Ultra Club at Energizer Park. Doors open early afternoon. Match kicks off at 2. Same great festival energy they brought for the Paraguay game. Ballpark Village has a big setup at FanDuel Sports Network Live with DJs, drink specials, and post-game parties. And the Anheuser Busch Beer Garden is back with their USA watch party with live music and cold beer. Find your crew and pick your spot. A couple of local spots are hitting big milestones this weekend and they're worth celebrating with. The Moniker is celebrating their one year anniversary on Friday night with live music. If you haven't been yet, this is a great reason to finally go check it out. And Saturday, the Coffee Girl is throwing their one-year anniversary party with giveaways, a face painter, coffee samples, and a special appearance by country artist Alexander Kay. It's a really fun community forward afternoon and a great way to support a local small business doing something right. If you're looking for to get out and explore a little this weekend, there's no shortage of options. Friday evening, May's Night Market takes over City Foundry with vintage clothing, local art, handmade goods, self-care products, and four hands brewing on pour. Stick around and grab dinner from the food hall while you're at it. Also Friday at Westport Plaza, free outdoor movie night. They're screening Shrek. Bring a blanket, bring the kids, and show up at sunset. Saturday evening, Adara in the Central West End is hosting their night market, free admission, local vendors, food and drinks, and a great neighborhood setting. And Sunday, the National Museum of Transportation is hosting their Father's Day car show presented by the Horseless Carriage Club of Missouri. Beautiful cars, beautiful grounds, a really easy, enjoyable way to spend part of Father's Day. Saturday, the Pride Bar Crawl takes over the grove with six plus venues, included drinks, no cover at any of the bars, and an after party with a DJ. 20% of proceeds go directly to Pride St. Louis. Get tickets in advance. Prices go up at the door. The concert lineup this weekend is genuinely stacked. Friday night, MGK brings his Lost Americana tour to Hollywood Casino Amphitheater. Also Friday, Passion Pit plays the Hawthorn. A more intimate show if you want something a little different. Saturday night, Santana and the Doobie Brothers are at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater together on the Oneness tour. Two rock and roll Hall of Famers, one stage. It's going to be a big night. Also Saturday, EDM Orchestra takes over at the factory with a 20-piece symphonic and ensemble reimagining Daft Punk, Avici, and Swedish House Mafia. It's a really cool concept. If you've never seen orchestral EDM Live. Sunday evening, the Missouri Chamber Music Festival closes out its season at the Sheldon with concert for an intimate program exploring the connection between poetry and music inspired by Emily Dickinson. And this is the last weekend for Shakespeare in the park. The Tempest closes out Sunday night in Forest Park, Free Under the Stars in the Shakespeare Glen. If it's been on your list all month, this is your last chance. Friday evening, third degree glass factory is hosting their third Friday event, and this month is a special one. The big woo of local band and the Woo Daddies is leading the studio's very first open mic night from five to nine. On top of that, there are glass blowing and flame demos running all night, hands-on glass experiences in the hot shop and kiln studio. A new exhibition opening from studio manager Cole Harmon and Rudy's Flower Truck on site, celebrating the launch of their new studio Bud Base. It's art, music, community, and fire all in one place. It's a really great Friday night option. Saturday morning at Westport Plaza, the World Wellness Cup is an outdoor movement experience combining yoga, Pilates, and functional fitness led by Sydney Walker, along with a wellness vendor market and live music by DJ Lesco Disco. Tickets are $28 and it's a great way to start the day before the weekend gets going. And for the theater people, Hairspray continues at the Muni through Sunday. It's a joyful, high-energy show and one of the summer's best bets for a night out in Forest Park. And the Magic House has two great things happening this weekend. During the day, their 90s summer experience is running all weekend long in the front playgarden. Bubbles, chalk art, friendship bracelets, tie-dye, and sandcastle beach. Classic unplugged summer fun for kids. Then Saturday evening, the Magic House flips to adults only for their adult play date, 90s summer special, cocktails, snacks, live music with 90s covers, and free roam of the museum after hours. All food and drinks are included, and all proceeds support free admission for kids in need. It always sells out. Grab tickets ahead of time. Over at Shape It's Arena, the St. Louis Sarah Rodeo has two shows on Saturday afternoon and evening with bull riding, barrel racing, bronch riding, calf roping, and steer wrestling. That's something you see every weekend, and it's always a fun crowd. And Friday evening at Worldwide Technology Raceway, Midnight Madness is back, street legal drag racing, drifting, DJs, and contests at the drag strip, all ages, all the energy. This week's spot is Dirty Pop in O'Fallon, dirty sodas, custom sips, and trendy snacks with a summer lineup that hits every craving.
