Another incredible summer weekend has arrived in St. Louis, bringing legendary live music, Cardinals giveaways, CITY SC soccer, neighborhood festivals, family events, and one of the city's newest dessert destinations.

Hey everyone, welcome back to This Week in St. Louis. I'm Bryce, and this might be one of the most jam-packed weekends we've covered all summer. We are deep into peak concert season right now, and it shows there's a legend of the blues playing downtown, two separate rock shows going head to head on Saturday night, and the Cardinals have basically turned Bush Stadium into a weekend long party. On top of all that, there's a new night market, a margarita festival, and even a few free community events worth carving out time for. If you've been waiting for the too much to do kind of weekend, this is it. Let's get into it. Friday night at Bush Stadium, it's Friday Night Live as the Cardinals open up a three-game set against the Cincinnati Reds, with live music at Budweiser Terrace and the party continuing at Ballpark Village after the final out. That night is also a theme ticket event tied to Bravo Night. So if Real Housewives is your thing alongside your baseball, that's worth a look. Saturday, the Cardinals are doing something they've never done before, wearing their Victory Blue uniforms at a home game for the first time, with 15,000 fans, 13 and up, getting their own Victory Blue jersey at the gate, presented by Stiefle. If you've ever wanted one of those jerseys, this is the day. And Sunday is Kids Sunday with crafts, games, DJ appearances from Fredbird and free ice cream out at Ford Plaza before the game. There's also a Christmas in July theme ticket for anyone who wants a Cardinals cap in July and doesn't mind Santa Fred making an appearance in the middle of summer. Right next door before Saturday's game gets going, the Together Credit Union Plaza at Ballpark Village turns its STL Margarita Fest from noon to four, featured margaritas from Ballpark Village venues, a taco eating contest, nacho bars, live music, and yard games. It's basically the perfect pregame. And a soccer's More Your Speed, St. Louis City SC is back at Energizer Park Saturday night, taking on the Colorado Rapids. After last week's rivalry match, the energy at Energizer Park has been building, and this one should keep that momentum going. Now, if you're chasing live music this weekend, buckle up because this might be the biggest concert weekend we've had in a while. Friday night, the factory hosts something genuinely special, Buddy Guy, celebrating his 90th year with this show simply called Buddy Guy 90. He's a rock and roll Hall of Famer, a nine-time Grammy winner, and one of the last living architects of electric blues. Shows like this don't come around often. So if you have any appreciation for where rock and blues actually came from, this is a bucketless night. Saturday night, you've got to choose your adventure because there are three major shows happening at the same time. Hollywood Casino Amphitheater has the Black Crows co-headlining with Whiskey Myers on their Southern Hospitality Tour. High energy, no frills, southern rock from two of the genre's most respected acts. Meanwhile, over at St. Louis Music Park, it's the big throwdown featuring The Urge, Less Than Jake, and My Posse in Effect, presented by 105.7 The Point. A great one if ska and 90s nostalgia are calling your name. An at Enterpriser Center, Forrest Frank brings the Jesus Generation tour to town with Tori Kelly, Corey Asbury, and the Figs for a completely different kind of Saturday night experience. Whichever one you pick, Saturday night in St. Louis is going to be loud. If you're looking for something a little more laid back, there's plenty happening around town that doesn't require a concert ticket. Thursday evening, downtown Kirkwood is hosting the Kirkwood Night Market on Argonne with live music from kaleidoscope, food trucks, a four hands beverage truck, and dozens of local vendors. It's a great low-key way to kick off the weekend early. Saturday morning, Schlafley Bottle Works hosts Sundays, their monthly gathering of local artisans, performers, and of course, beer. It's easy, breezy, and a nice way to spend a late morning before the day heats up. If you're looking for something a little more adventurous, the Butterfly House out in Faust Park is hosting tacos, tequila, and tarantulas Friday evening. It's exactly what it sounds like animal encounters, appetizers, cricket street tacos if you're brave enough. And yes, tarantulas up close. This one's 21 and up, and advanced registration is required. Over at Union Station, the spins, beats, and summer treats pass is running through August, giving you unlimited access to the wheel, the wave swinger, mini golf, and more, plus a free snack or drink included. It's a solid option if you want an easy family outing this weekend. Speaking of family outings, there are a couple of great options built specifically for the kids this weekend. The Magic House is hosting Star Wars Night Saturday evening, where young Padawans are invited to dress up as their favorite characters, meet costume characters, and enjoy an ice cream treat. Registration is required for both kids and adults. And out at Grants Farm, Summer Nights continues Friday and Saturday with live music, food, drink samplings, and their drone show. It's a reoccurring one at this point, but always a reliable pick if you want an easy evening with the family. And if you're trying to keep things close to home and support a neighborhood that's been through a lot, there's a really meaningful event happening on Sunday. The Love It Vibe St. Louis music series is bringing a free community concert to Philip Boucier Park along Delmar Boulevard. The series is part of an ongoing effort to bring life back to the Del Mar Main Street corridor following last year's tornado, and the lineup reflects the neighborhood's deep musical roots, spanning soul, jazz, blues, hip-hop, and funk. It's free, it's for the whole community, and it's a good way to show up for St. Louis neighborhood that's still rebuilding. And we have a new spot for you to check out this week. Spoonful Dessert Cafe is the first Korean cafe to serve up bing suo and fresh baked tayaki. This cozy modern cafe is the perfect place to level up your dessert game, share a massive bowl of house made shaved ice, or grab a couple of piping hot, chewy mochi waffles while catching up with your besties.
