2 Nephi 3:12 - "Wherefore, the fruit of thy loins shall write; and the fruit of the loins of Judah shall write; and that which shall be written by the fruit of thy loins, and also that which shall be written by the fruit of the loins of Judah, shall grow together, unto the confounding of false doctrines and laying down of contentions, and establishing peace among the fruit of thy loins, and bringing them to the knowledge of their fathers in the latter days, and also to the knowledge of my covenants, saith the Lord."

President Ezra Taft Benson - "The Book of Mormon exposes the enemies of Christ. It confounds false doctrines and lays down contention. It fortifies the humble followers of Christ against the evil designs, strategies, and doctrines of the devil in our day. The type of apostates in the Book of Mormon are similar to the type we have today. God, with his infinite foreknowledge, so molded the Book of Mormon that we might see the error and know how to combat false educational, political, religious, and philosophical concepts of our time."

President Ezra Taft Benson - "The Bible sits on the pulpit of hundreds of different religious sects. The Book of Mormon, the record of Joseph, verifies and clarifies the Bible. It removes stumbling blocks, it restores many plain and precious things. We testify that when used together, the Bible and the Book of Mormon confound false doctrines, lay down contentions, and establish peace."

President Russell M. Nelson - "We have writings of the descendants of Judah as now merged with writings of the descendants of Ephraim. We should employ them and expand our circle of love to embrace the whole human family. We should bring divine love and revealed doctrines of restored religion to our neighbors and friends. We should serve them according to our abilities and opportunities. We should keep our principles on a high level and stand for the right. We should continue to gather scattered Israel from the four corners of the earth and offer the ordinances and covenants that seal families together forever. These blessings we are to bring to people of all nations."

A daily podcast dedicated to drawing closer to the Savior through the powerful truths found in the Book of Mormon. Each episode, we focus on one verse that helps us walk more faithfully in his footsteps. Have you ever noticed how God always provides witnesses of truth? He never leaves us with just one voice or one record. He knows the importance of multiple witnesses establishing his word. In second Nephi three, verse twelve we read Wherefore the fruit of thy loins shall write, and the fruit of the loins of Judah shall write, and that which shall be written by the fruit of thy loins, and also that which shall be written by the fruit of the loins of Judah shall grow together, unto the confounding of false doctrines, and laying down of contentions, and establishing peace among the fruit of thy loins, and bringing them to the knowledge of their fathers in the latter days, and also to the knowledge of my covenants, saith the Lord. Now follow with me. This quote was originally from the prophet Joseph of Egypt. It was a prophecy of his that was recorded on the brass plates. Lehi was teaching his youngest son, also named Joseph, about this great prophecy. And Nephi wrote these words down onto the small plates of Nephi, which made it into our hands. Joseph of Egypt prophesied of two sacred records that would one day come together. This prophecy points directly to the Bible and the Book of Mormon working together as one. The fruit of Judah is the Bible. The fruit of Joseph refers to the descendants of Joseph preserved through the Nephites and Lamanites, whose record became the Book of Mormon. Together they testify of Jesus Christ. President Ezra Taf Benson explained this clearly. The Bible sits on the pulpit of hundreds of different religious sects. The Book of Mormon, the record of Joseph, verifies and clarifies the Bible. It removes stumbling blocks. It restores many plain and precious things. We testify that when used together, the Bible and the Book of Mormon confound false doctrines, lay down contentions, and establish peace. Both scriptures may come from different lands, different riders and different times, but their message is the same. Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of the world. When we study them together, we see that consistency of witness and gain deeper understanding of his gospel. Joseph of Egypt's prophecy also promised that these records would confound false doctrine. Why? Because when read together, they clarify the truth about Christ's gospel. President Benson also taught. It confounds false doctrines and lays down contention. It fortifies the humble followers of Christ against the evil designs, strategies, and doctrines of the devil in our day. The type of apostates in the Book of Mormon are similar to the type we have today. God with his infinite foreknowledge, so molded the Book of Mormon that we might see the error and know how to combat false educational, political, religious, and philosophical concepts of our time. Think about that. The Lord knew our day, our challenges and our confusions. That's why He gave us two records, not just one. For example, the Bible teaches about baptism. But the Book of Mormon adds clarity on the necessity of proper authority in the age of accountability. The Bible teaches about the fall of Adam and Eve, but the Book of Mormon explains why it was necessary and how it ties directly to the atonement of Jesus Christ. In a world full of shifting opinions, philosophies, and ideologies, these two witnesses stand firm that together they protect us from deception and anchor us to truth. Joseph's prophecy continues, these records would not only confound false doctrine but also establish peace and bring people to the knowledge of God's covenants. President Russell M. Nelson explained on this vision. We have writings of the descendants of Judah as now merged with writings of the descendants of Ephraim. We should employ them and expand our circle of love to embrace the whole human family. We should bring divine love and reveal doctrines of restored religion to our neighbors and friends. We should serve them according to our abilities and opportunities, which should keep our principles on a high level and stand for the right. We should continue to gather scattered Israel from the four corners of the earth and offer the ordinances and covenants that seal families together forever. These blessings we are to bring to people of all nations. Peace comes when truth is understood, and when covenants are kept, and when love is extended to others. The Bible and the Book of Mormon together point us to Christ, who is the Prince of Peace, and to the covenants that bind us to him and to each other. In conclusion, Joseph of Egypt foresaw our day. He saw that God would bring forth two records, two witnesses of Jesus Christ, to work together for the blessing of his the Savior's people. The Bible and the Book of Mormon confound false doctrines, establish peace, and bring us to the knowledge of God's covenants. Here's today's challenge. Choose one truth from the Bible that matters deeply to you. Then find its companion witness in the Book of Mormon. Study them together. Write down what you learn and share that truth with someone else this week. By doing this, we don't just read prophecy, we live it. We let the word of God grow together in our hearts, bringing clarity, peace, and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Thank you for listening to Seek This Jesus.
