Speaker 1:

Hello everyone, it's Victoria here and welcome back to another episode of A Woman's Power Unfiltered. So before I dive into today's ep, I just want to say again a big thank you. Deciding to do this podcast was something that actually I'd always fancied doing. It was always something that I wanted to do, but I just I don't know I just didn't really have the time. And then, when I was doing a rebrand of my other podcast business built with strategy I just thought it was a Monday and I thought, oh, do you know what? I'm just gonna do it. And it just goes to show that sometimes when you make a decision, you've just got to go for it. And I didn't know if it was going to do very well, I didn't really know anything, but I just I did the artwork. Obviously, I knew how to put podcasts together, because I have the other podcast and I just went for it and I have had the most amazing feedback. So I just want to say a massive, massive thank you.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so what are we talking about today? We are talking about the lionesses, which, as we all know, are the football team. They didn't just play football, they pushed the needle on women's power. But of course, you know, as we all know, they're not the the only story. This is part of a long line of women, women breaking ground. It really is a massive line. In this episode, we'll look at what their win means and how it fits into the bigger picture of women claiming space, like we all should be doing now.

Speaker 1:

The lionesses euro win captured attention worldwide, a defining cultural moment. But moments like this they, they don't happen in isolation. Many women across sport, business, politics, activism have been pushing the door open for for decades. For many, many years, the lionesses made it undeniable proof of what happens when the spotlight shines. And so why do these moments matter? Visibility multiplies impact. The wider world sees what women can do. They inspire younger generations, which is just. It's so important and it just continues to shift the narrative for everyone. A needle being pushed forward is each win moves it further, just pushing it forward slightly. And, of course, what the what the lionesses did was push it massively, didn't they? They, they really did.

Speaker 1:

Now, alongside the praise that came with, you know, with everything that they did, came minimizing and criticism, because, of course, you're always going to get those people who want to do that. It's the inevitable. It's wrong, but it happens the you know there's a pattern when women succeed publicly. If it is, it's, it's downplayed or it's mocked, but the backlash shows the cultural shift is working. It ratt rattles the old guard. You know the old guard standing there going no, no, no, things have got to be like they were years ago. But the thing is All what's going to happen now is we're just going to move forward positively, like we have through the decades, just slowly but positively. So what does it actually mean, though, beyond sport?

Speaker 1:

So women in leadership, or pivoting, maybe their business, in any part of their life, they face the same. Prove it twice. That's the standard. Like the lionesses, you know, success isn't just about talent, it is about persistence and showing up and refusing to shrink. The lionesses amplified a truth women in every field already know. You don't wait to be given space, you take it. You take that space, and power is a collective.

Speaker 1:

Individual wins are powerful, but each win stands on the shoulders of others. When women succeed, they move the needle for everyone. Your small step, your pivot, your breakthrough is bigger than you. It's. It helps everyone. You might not think it at the time. Legacy every move you make creates ripples for women who come after, and that could be, you know, let's be honest, it could be something that maybe you're doing at home and it creates something that maybe your daughter can learn from women around you sisters, cousins.

Speaker 1:

So let's recap on what we've been talking about. The lionesses didn't create women's power. What they did was they showcased it and they pushed it further, and the power is built step by step, win by win, and you're a part of that story. So where can you move the needle in your life right now, even just one step further? Is there something that you want to do? Is there something you want to create? Is there something you want to change? If this has inspired you, share it. Share it with women who need reminding that their power, her power, it really matters.
