This week we are talking about pedestals. Not the Greek kind. The emotional kind.

The “I met you three times and decided you are flawless and spiritually elevated” kind. The kind we build out of vibes, fantasy, loneliness and pure delulu energy.

I get into some of what has been happening in my own world with pedestaling inside friendships and what it does to you when people turn you into a symbol instead of a person. We talk about why pedestals are not love, they are projection, and why I would rather be known than worshipped.

And then we let the comedy special begin.

You sent me your best fall from grace stories. The exact moment the pedestal cracked and the ick moved into your body like a permanent resident. We cover baby talk at the dinner table, dusty moon water, empath frauds, angel number boys, giddy up taxi commands, sideways string cheese, and so much more chaos.

It is unhinged in the best way and honestly a tiny bit healing too.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to I Hear You Babe. My name is Dino Malvone. I'm your host. I've got a really fun episode for you today. Bunch of emails that you all sent into I HearYouBabePod at gmail.com. And uh, you know, some things that we're gonna chit chat up front about. And uh okay, so today the topic today is we're talking about pedestals, and like we're not talking about the Greek kind, okay? Um these are the emotional kinds, and um like I met you three times and already like decided in my mind that you're absolutely flawless, and maybe even a spiritual elevator, um, and the pedestals that we built out of just like vibes, yeah, um, fantasies, loneliness, hope, and delusion, like whatever, whatever it is. And listen, I've been I've been thinking about this a lot lately because some things, you know, have been happening in my own life. Can you imagine? And um, God, here we go. I need to take a sip of my water here because okay. Listen, my favorite water is um Evian. Um, but I but this is actually water from um, and I don't know why, but it just has this well, Fuji may be my favorite water. Food the one that's from the I think it's from the Philippines or something, but um Wow, great story, do you know? I uh look, there's been a little bit of um pedestaling. Pedestaling. I I kind of like using that as a verb, you guys. Anyway, there's been a little bit of pedestaling in my friend group or ex-friend group, or whatever the fuck you want to call it. I don't care. Um and you know, look, we're gonna try to keep everything on this podcast like 100% honest, 100% real, and uh and some of the names and uh sh will be changed. And I'm gonna I'm not I'm gonna keep it as vague as possible because um, well, it's not like they listen anyway. Um anyway, oh, not me throwing shade. Uh there's you know, people who are deciding who the good people are and who the bad people are, like who's allowed and um to be complicated and who's not allowed to be complicated, you know? And when people do that, they turn you into like a symbol instead of a real person. Like I'm, you know, you stay see God, it stops being friendship and starts being like, it's almost like mythology in some way. Like, and at this point, it's been so many years, it might as well have happened in like a different lifetime. Um, and no one survives in mythology. Hello. Like, it's not the people that do doing the pedestaling and and definitely not the person who's getting put on it, you know? Um, because you know, when someone puts you on a pedestal, even if it looks kind of fun and flattering, what they're I mean, what they're really the underlying message there is I I need you to be perfect so that I don't have to deal with my own shit. You know? And girl, I'm tired. I'm fucking 45 years old. I I don't have time for all that. And and when you inevitably like breathe wrong, um, or like have a human moment where you make a mistake or something, you know, or you like the fall from grace is so fucking loud. And it it's definite, deafeningly loud. And people don't just remove you, they like fully drop you. Salt, drop you. Um, and here's what I've learned pedestals aren't about love, they're more about like projection. It's like that mirror in Harry Potter, you know, it's like that one mirror that he everyone says, don't go look in that mirror because you're gonna be projecting into it and you're gonna see things that aren't actually real. That's this, okay. Of course, I would make a Harry Potter reference, but and honestly, I I don't want to be worshipped. I I want to be known. And I by known, I mean I just want to be able to be honest, and that sometimes includes having to have and work through conflict. Anyway, so today's episode uh this comedy special is dedicated to comedy special. I was just listening to Call Her Daddy, and they're talking to Hannah Berner about her comedy special on Netflix. So anyway, this is my comedy special, and it's dedicated to all of the um beautiful and super funny, um genuinely humbling moments where the pedestal starts to crumble. Uh it's like when you realize that um the person that you elevated is just a human person who might be using like baby talk at the dinner table. Or or the or the woman that you romanticize is actually drinking moon water off of a fire escape. You know, girl. And and that's okay. People are supposed to be human. Fuck, I mean, the fact that man, sometimes it's that it's that like, oh, I've I'm holier than thou I've never done anything. You have no idea what I went through. It's like, girl, there you're sometimes friends and human beings are supposed to disappoint us a little bit. They're supposed to surprise us, and sometimes that that's the whole fucking point. Anyway, so let's laugh a little bit, and maybe like have a cringe moment, get a little bit of an ick. Um, and fuck, I don't know, maybe heal a little bit too, because nothing will set you free faster than letting people be human again. Truly. Can you just see the human side in it? Like, anyway, let's fucking get into these emails. Let's uh girl, the pedestals are fucking cracking. This one says the pasta incident. Okay. Um, I'm already hooked. Dino, I swear on everything holy. I have never been more violently humbled. Oh, a violent humbling in my life than I was on my third date with this man I was absolutely convinced was my soulmate. Okay. So this man, this man had my brain wrapped in a rom com. Okay. Harry met Sally. I was already imagining our wedding playlist. Okay, I've got some songs for your fucking wedding playlist. Are you ready? There's gotta Okay, you have to, have to, have to have Endless Love by Mariah Carey and I forget, um, Luther Vandross. And secondly, you must have Phil Collins groovy kind of love. It and no, that's it. Um I told three friends that quote, this feels different. He had the vibe of somebody who read fiction and drank water and used his turn signal. And I was in it. You guys, with your driving culture, I don't even know anybody that has a car. Um, we go out to dinner, cute place in the West Village with candles and fresh pasta. Oh, there's there's a place on West 8th Street that did fresh pasta. I don't even actually know if it's still open anymore, but um down by where bar three was. It's like halfway up that street between bar three and the Marlton. You guys don't even know what I'm talking about, but there was a place that used to make their own pasta. It was fun to watch them. Um we go out, okay. The energy was flirting, the chemistry is vibing, the wine is whining. I'm locking it in. Okay, we love to see that. And then my soulmate, my twin flame, not my twin flame, you guys, it's been confirmed that there is a Netflix documentary about twin flames. It was like a it's a cult. Like someone needs to call your dad. Um, the man I thought God put on planet Earth specifically for me. He leans over his bowl of regatoni. He opens his mouth and says, with sincerity, with a gusto, with childlike delight, nom nom.

SPEAKER_01

Oh god, it's me.

SPEAKER_00

Nom nom. What what do we what are we what are we doing with the nom nom? Nom vetnom.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So I froze, time stopped, angels dropped their harps. Okay, gone. This is the drama of it all. And not only did he say nom nom, he followed up with this is busin'. Um I don't know what that means. Dino, my soul left my body. Listen, if a guy uses the word b busin, but busin', b-s-s-i-n, busin. Should I look that up? What is busin mean? Uh okay. Oh, business is a slaying term that worm that means something is extremely good, delicious, or excellent. Okay, well that I mean that tracks. And uh okay. Um he kept eating, he kept eating, nom nom nom, like a toddler devouring dinosaur nuggets. Oh god. I was looking at him like I had discovered a new species. Like, I can see it. Like you're like skeptical, slightly disturbed, but like curious. Uh then he goes, Do you want a bitey? Not a bitey. Not a bite. He asked me if I wanted a bitey. I swear my uterus completely shut down. Yeah, we're close for business. It's over in hibernation. The pedestal shattered, crashed, powder, dust. I told my friends later, and they all said the same thing. Thank God the universe saved you. Anyway, thank you. Next would be to my would-be husband. Oh man. Um, you know, the okay, what am I trying to say? The the ick that you get from being out with somebody at dinner is sometimes a big, big, big indicator of like who that person actually is. Um, like how they treat the wait staff, how they like the way that they engage with you during at dinner. Like, there's something to be said about like um the dynamic at the table that is, I don't know, it can easily go to ick, right? Like it can easily go to this place where it's like, if someone's rude to a waiter, I can't, I can't handle it. Also, this guy's like being cutesy with the nom nom nom and do you want to bitey? Like, are we flying an airplane with a fork into my mouth? What's happening? You know, like, oh god, no. Um, I okay. The next one says, because I don't want to be too mean because I maybe, maybe you guys are still together. I I don't know. Um, so because you never know. Girl, stranger things have happened. I don't know. Maybe now you're like to my would-be husband, like fast forward, I'm gonna get an email with an update in three weeks. It's like, girl, by the way, 25 daily days later, we got married. Because uh I it's happened before. Uh, the next one says, the empath who was not. Oh god, not someone. If someone says that they're an empath, like on the first or second date or something, I don't know. Something gives me the ick about that too. Uh like, no. So it says, Hey Dino, uh, this is the moment the pedestal didn't just crack, it split, collapsed, caught on fire, and sank into the deep ocean. Okay. Not by the Titanic. I met this guy during a very vulnerable time in my life, and that should have been the first red flag. He said all the right things. Well, can't wait to hear what these are. I'm really in tune with people, he said. Okay. Um I feel things deeply. Okay, we're getting it. We're uh I feel into I'm very intuitive, and I absorb emotions like a sponge. Listen, if he's not gay, I don't think that he's allowed to say those things. And you know what? If I'm saying something illegal, somebody come and put some handcuffs on me and take me right to jail because I absorb emotions like a sponge. Okay. Uh like go get the leash for your poodle, you little bitch. Um, he called himself an empath twice. No. He has he has a um miniature something dog, and he carries it in a bag. I I'm not sure I could stomach this. He called, no, I don't know. He called it, maybe he's the nicest guy ever. I don't know. He called himself an empath twice before the appetizer even arrived on our very first date. And I was like, great, I deserve softness.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And you know what you do? Fast forward, we're driving to brunch one Sunday. The sun was shining, the music was a little bit low, but the birds were singing. It had me thinking about our future home and our joint Roth IRA. You sound like you have your life together. I don't even know what a Roth IRA means. I, a sweet elderly woman is crossing the street very slowly with three grocery bags and a little cane. And she is the blueprint for gentleness, and he fucking honks. Not a tap, not a politely, excuse me. Um, he hits her with a New York taxi horn blast, and like she was a fucking rat on the road. Okay, I'm gonna have to stop you right here because I again this reminds me of an episode of Roseanne. I'm or not Roseanne, of Will and Grace. Those are my two favorite shows, by the way. Um, both of the like main actresses on those two shows are also canceled. So that gives you an indication of my discretion. But the okay. So then he sticks his head out the window and he screams, hurry up, sweetheart. Um, he actually used the word sweetheart. Um, it was like the empathy evaporated from his body like literal steam. I was physically ill. My stomach turned upside down. I literally felt the heartbeat slow. My heartbeat slow out of complete disappointment. And then, and then he turns to me and he goes, Ugh, people really drain my fucking energy. Literally, the woman was like 40 pounds. I got like a gust of wind would have probably blown this old lady away. Um, that's when the pedestal cracked so loudly that it echoed. I have never recovered. I blocked him on everything except Venmo because he owes me $14 for parking. I know that's right. You know, I think it's always so fun when people uh hold um like scorecards. I I just think it like I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

It just makes me it makes me laugh. Um okay, hold on. Let's get these next emails up beep boop pop.

SPEAKER_00

Which one should I read next? Let's see here. Okay. You guys know that's the sound of the computer makes, right? Um okay. The beige flag that became a red flag. My roommate in college, um we were like both creative writing, whatever, dorks. And I remember her writing a poem where she used the word beige to describe like an emotion or whatever. You know, when you're in college, you're like, oh my god, that's Brill. So uh yeah. Um okay, so this one next to the beige flag that became a red flag. Dino, hey, this man, um, this man had me in a chokehold. Not because he was uh in the WWE. No, it's just not because he was extraordinary. No, because he was tall and held eye contact for more than three seconds. My standards were subterranean. You know, okay, when you look at somebody in the face, do you look at their eyes or their mouth? I find myself having an easier time looking at people's mouths, but I also like I think sometimes I'm just trying to make sure that I understand what they're saying. And like if I'm looking at their, it doesn't make sense. The sound is coming from the mouth. Why would I look at the eyes? If we're like in a moment, I'll look at your eyes, but if we're talking, why would I why wouldn't I look at your mouth? Do you know what I'm saying? Does that make any sense? Um, anyway, on our fourth date, we're walking through Central Park. I'm in a sundress.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know why I just saw like sunflowers and daisies. Um, he's in a beige outfit that could have easily been issued by the DMV. No. He works in a toll booth. No. Um, I'm telling myself he's neutral and grounded instead of visually unseasoned. Neutral and grounded instead of visually unseasoned. You sound smart. We sat on a bench and a woman walks by with a tiny dog wearing a sweater. I love animals and sweaters. Oh, wait, I didn't even tell you. Okay, hold on. I'm putting my finger in the air because I have to tell you a story. Uh walks by with a dog wearing a sweater. Cute moment, right? She goes, Isn't he adorable? And this man, my once candidate for life partner, says in a completely serious voice, I don't believe in dogs wearing clothes. Well, we can't fuck with him then. Like, what do you believe in? Okay, then she goes on to say, believe. Like, is this a religion? She laughs awkwardly and walks away. He leans over, lowers his voice, and goes, I think it's just manipulative. Okay, manipulative? Like he thought the dog was being coerced.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not understanding.

SPEAKER_00

Uh, she said the pedestal cracked like an egg. I left the day and realized that I had been projecting personality traits onto a man who had absolutely none. Yeah. He was fucking beige. Beige means bland. And bland is like, girl, we need some seasoning. We need some seasoning. Um okay. You guys, pause because I have to tell you a story. So a couple weeks ago, like maybe three weeks ago, I had this company called Perlotties, P-U-R-L-A-T-E-S, come to Salt Drop. They're like we we're hosting them like as a residency, and it's as you can imagine by way of the name, it's um like kittens and Pilates. And what's fun about it is that every one of the cats that are here is available for either adoption or or um or foster. So there was this cat that came in, and I told you guys, I think if you haven't listened, but I I in the last maybe episode or two, I I think I mentioned this cat that came to me like by the name of Greg. Mr. Gregory and um he's a uh blue Russian, he's got like a little white heart or patch on his chest, rather, and um he's got these big, big, big, crazy like golden eyes. And uh anyway, so he's tiny still, but the story behind it is that he was rescued from a homicide scene where his mom was murdered by the father, and he was found almost immediately because the neighbors obviously heard what was going on, and he lived in the police precinct. Now, mind you, he's three months old, maybe like three and a half at this point. Like, I think we're gonna put his birthday back in July. Um, August, September, October. Yeah, I think maybe we put it, maybe we put his birthday like at the end of July or something. Um, anyway, so they rescued him from this homicide scene. He lived at the police precinct for two weeks, and then he went to a foster home. And then the foster brought him to the studio for that um event. And like he he popped out, and I was like, oh, mine. And so now I've got three cats and 450 square feet. Okay. You guys, somebody needs to call like intervention on me or something because I I don't know. And I and and and from now on, I'm not allowed to be here at the studio whenever these fucking cats get here. Because if you there I I'll post a picture on the Instagram about it because like I've got they've got like a sandwich sign that they put outside, um, the Purlottes folks, and um and it's just like a cat sitting on somebody's back who's doing like legit Pilates. So I um anyway, I adopted a cat and his name is Greg. And I I think I'm gonna leave his name as Greg because it seems like it's so it's so kind of awkward and like weird. I've got Rocco, dude, Dino, and Greg. And I think it kind of makes sense that way. It feels like that feels like a family to me, you know. Um, okay, anyway, this next email says, and girl, listen, are there two litter boxes in my house now? Yes. And the first day that the little one got there, because you know, I got him like one of those like tiny boxes because he's fucking tiny. And he's kind of kooky. And by kooky, I mean when he eats, there's food all over his fucking face. And but when he's done, because I have three of them now, so I put their food like their bowls relatively close to one another, like in a row. He eats out of every bowl, and they kind of share each other's food, which is kind of weird, but um, there's food everywhere. He just like dips his face, his entire face, into the bowl, and uh and then he tracks it because it falls off of his mouth. It's like he still doesn't know how to eat yet, or he's so excited to eat, or something. I don't fucking know. Um, but also like he was in a pen for less than 24 hours because they hissed for like a second, right? Like one second, literally. And then I would I took him out whenever I was home so that I could get them to acclimate. And like, dude and Rocco, they're all like nose to nose with him. He's like not, and also he's like so doo doo beep boo bop. That's what his brain sounds like. So like he's in one room and then in the other room, you know, like he's like so checking shit out, but like very resilient. This little guy, this little nugget is like so freaking cute. And I think his name is Greg. I think his name is Greg. I think we have to keep Greg. Um, okay. The next one says, the moment he ate a banana. Hi, Dino. Uh, this one still haunts me. I was dating a guy who was handsome in a way that made me excuse too many things, like his inability to spell definitely. I don't know. Some of these words are tricky. I before E, except after C. And his belief that washing dishes under hot water counts as sterilizing.

SPEAKER_01

Well, okay.

SPEAKER_00

I okay. How do you sterilize them then? What am I doing wrong? One morning we're in his kitchen and he grabs a banana. Normal, human. Um, I look away for one second, and then when I turn back, he's eating the banana from the middle, like from the actual center. Um she says, like he snapped it in half and then put his mouth on the exposed middle. I'm picturing it. Okay, I'm familiar, and started chewing like a raccoon in a parking lot. No. Immediate ick. I gasped. I gasped out loud, full full inhale, and go. He goes, What? What? And my ink flooded my basement like a medical emergency. I saw our whole imaginary future dissolve. Girl, I don't think you're using that sentence right. If he flooded your basement, I I think I'm out of what you guys have down there, but I think I think I know what that means. And I don't think we're using that. I don't think we're using that sentence right. She says, I never fully recovered. Uh, and that was the day that I learned that the pedestal isn't real. It is the but the ick is really fucking real. You know, my bestie had this dude come over to her house one time, and he did like um, like walked in the door and did like a little jig. Like he did like a deep deep beep, like you know, like a can you imagine me like hip to the right, to the left, and then like one elbow up in the you know, like I don't know. Can you picture it? Like I'm doing like a ding. And um and that was it. Like she liked him, and then it it that was the final straw. You know, you never know. Sometimes sometimes the ick comes on fast and um and you never know where it's gonna take you. You know what I mean? Because Jesus Christ. The next one the next one says my water, hold on. This one says the moon water incident. Okay, it's giving the moon water incident, it's giving lesbians. So let's let's see it um dear Dino. I date women. Well, that doesn't that that didn't prove me correct, but like I that's what the moon water incident is giving lesbian. Come on, tell me I'm wrong. Um, I date women, which means I've survived some beautiful chaos in my life. Well no, that's right. Um, but this one, this one is my Roman Empire. I actually don't even know what that really means because I'm 45, but I I kind of think I know. So anyway, we're gonna we're we'll keep it rolling. Roman Empire being like your North Star? You're like your vibe? I don't fucking know. I really don't. I should look that up too, because I probably got to probably like, you don't know what Roman Empire is. What is what is Roman Empire slang? Okay, it refers to something that a person thinks about frequently, coined from a viral trend where people ask men in their lives how often they think about the Roman Empire. Oh, okay, I remember this. Jesus Christ, this is an old trend, I feel like. What I I knew about this, but I didn't know about it. You know what I mean? I knew like a little bit, but I didn't know. So uh it says, I met her at Whole Foods because of course I did. I feel like that's where lesbians either meet there or at Home Depot, right? I I don't I don't know. She was holding shiitake mushrooms like they were they were prophecy, like she was, but she was stunning. She had a soft voice, she was wearing linen clothes, and she smelled like plants and mystery. Okay. I fell instantly. That sounds so cute. Um, first date was perfect, the second date was even better. I was already prepping my U-Haul reservation. No. Uh then she tells me she only drinks moon charged water. Told you, you know, lesbians are tricky. Uh I laugh. She doesn't. She brings me to her window. There's a mason jar of water sitting on her fire escape with a rose quartz in it. Okay. Listen, I'm not gonna lie. If if my boyfriend did that, I would be like, absolutely. Are we drinking it like she goes, the full moon blesses it? My nervous system can only process lunar hydration. Okay, this is my boyfriend. So, um, so I consider jumping out of the window. No, I know. Listen, sometimes I have to remind him to like to bring it down to um to like you know when you want to be like, okay, I get it, but I also like I don't, I'm not, I don't know those words. I don't even know, I don't know some what some of those words mean. So listen, be open-minded, ask questions, be curious. You never know. You might be drinking, you might be drinking rose quartz fire escape water faster than you know. You don't know. Maybe the lunar hydration is better. We don't know the moon, um that fucking rock out there, doesn't it control the entire ocean? Like, maybe they're right. Um, anyway, so she but she's so hot, so I stay. Then the pedestal breaking moment, she picked up the jar, she chugs it, she coughs hard and then goes, Ugh, it's a little dusty today. Dusty? Yeah, girl, you're drinking fire escape moon water. So I said, Yeah, so I said, babe, that's not moon dust, that's literally filth from your building. So the pedestal exploded like confetti, my ick activated like a fucking SWAT team. Anyway, she still watches my stories. I know that's right.

SPEAKER_01

I know that's right. Listen, um sometimes the sometimes I get it, I do.

SPEAKER_00

I you want to be able to meet people um halfway with your thought process, because let's say if like say, like, for example, Darius is does astrology, right? And there are times when I have to be like, I need you to explain it in a way that like the lay person can understand, you know, because it'll be like your north node is in Mars, and it's like I'm I I don't even I just don't even know what we need to break all those things down a little bit. But I do think if you express curiosity about it, the people who are talking about this kind of stuff are more more than happy to break it down for you because you know it's a passion of theirs, obviously. And look, astrology has been around for a really long time, whether you believe it or not, like I I do believe in it, but whether you believe in it or not, I feel like the um the idea is really one of just like uh gathering information about yourself. And I know some of the stuff can feel a little bit um generic, you know, but I also feel there are different interpretations, and I've and maybe the whole point of the whole thing is just finding an interpretation that resonates with you because you know what? This is your fucking experience. You get one life, ain't nobody gonna do it for you. So find something that fucking resonates for you. And listen, if you end up in a cult, I'm gonna call your dad. Uh the next one says, the man who tried to manifest me. Oh god, here we go. Um, babe, I don't know what it is about the word manifest for me right now, but I'm like, I'm I'm both like into it and also finding that I'm finding something very disingenuous about the whole manifest. I I don't even know. There's this whole um really, I don't know, it feels really white to me. Uh white girl movement around manifest manifestation. And I'm not gonna say that I don't resonate with the lessons, but I also feel like it's a little bit whitewashed. I don't know. I'm not I don't exactly know how to put my finger on how I'm feeling about it, but anyway, let's put our finger on that. Let's sign, let's tie like a little like bow on that. We'll bring that back up later. That's maybe a whole fucking other like episode about wellness and whiteness. Um let's move on. Okay, Dino, this man tried to spiritually kidnap me. Oh my god. Wait, you guys, there's an ep uh um podcast called Unseen. I think it's read by AI, honestly, but it doesn't bother me, and the episodes are like so short, and I think that that's part of the reason why I love them so much. Anyway, I digress. This is ADHD at its best, guys. Um so okay, hi Dino. A man tried to spiritually kidnap me here. Let me explain. I met a guy at a rooftop thing, and he was tall, dark, handsome. He had a tattoo of a snake doing yoga. What the hell does that look like? Uh, the usual Brooklyn bartender, starter back. I mean, you mean Williamsburg? Because I live in Fort Green and I don't see that shit. I don't know. It feels very, it feels very of that Williamsburg era. We kissed once. Just one kiss. One kiss is all it takes. Fall in love with me. Impossible is okay. No, you guys know what that song is, right? Dua Leepa. The uh, I love her. She has a major glow-up. Uh, this a week later, he sends me a photo of his journal. Oh no. My name written at the top. It was underlined, and underneath it he wrote, I will call her into my reality. No, no. Nope. Not him doing witchcraft. Sorry, bro. It's a no. Uh she says, sir, call me where. And then he texts me. I've been visualizing you every morning. Stop at pulling your energy closer. Pulling my energy where? Uh, I didn't consent to the spiritual tug of war, buddy. Then, and this is the part that haunts my dreams. He posted a quote from the show You on Netflix and his Instagram story on his Instagram story and wrote, She knows. Um, I don't know if you guys have seen the show You on Netflix, but like, and then she goes, She knows what that you're unhinged. Dude, you is a show about a fucking like a serial killer. He like locks people in this like glass box. Um, not to give it away. Sorry, spoiler alert pedestal, no. Uh, this dude crashed. Fucking ick is permanent this time. I blocked him from everywhere, including my Venmo. Uh, okay, let's do this. There's like two more. Hold on, let's get to this next one. Um there's like two more. The voice memos is the subject line of this next one. And it says, Hi, Dino. Um, been with you since bar three. Loving Salt Drop, loving the podcast. Well, thank you so much. I appreciate that. Um, I met this guy at Soul Cycle. Ew. I dated a guy from SoulCycle. What a fucking loser. The only thing he had going for him was it was 6'5. Otherwise, he was like such a bitch. Um, and within 48 hours, he was sending me voice memos like we were married. They weren't cute ones, they weren't even sexy ones, like not like I miss you or anything like that. No, they were four-minute monologues about his dreams, his inner child, and how the barista looked at him weird. The pedestal didn't crack because of the voice memos, though. She's like, Oh no, it cracked when he said this sentence. Okay, no, we're gonna put quotes around this. I feel like you're a safe vessel for my emotional downloads. Okay, you know, this wouldn't you rather have somebody be invested in your emotional downloads than not? Do you know what I'm saying? Do you know what I'm saying? A safe vessel for his emotional downloads. She said, I'm not a Google Drive, babes. Please don't upload anything into me. She said the pedestal was fucking shattered. I blocked him immediately. My nervous system finally feels healed. Okay. Well, listen, I always say you you gotta you gotta take care of yourself first, right? Um, he sounds like a dream to me. I don't know. Wait, then that okay, so this I'm gonna do one more. Um because I have there's a little there, there's like a few more, but I want to save some. There, there's a few that I pulled out that I want to save for Patreon. Uh, by the way, if you haven't subscribed to the Patreon, there's like a free membership and everything from like $5 up to whatever you want just to help support the podcast. So if you're interested, check out Patreon. Um, I Hear You Babe. But um let's see, there's also a Substack for I Hear You Babe. So if you're interested in having more of a personal view into my day-to-day and you know what's going on with me and how um my point of view impacts the topics that we talk about on the podcast, more than happy to have you there too. There's a free membership there, but there's also an opportunity support if you're if you're down there as well. I have some fresh content on both. So uh, and actually filming another episode for Patreon, we're doing like video podcasts over there. So uh reading more of these emails, but with a video component there too. Anyway, it's fun. So this next one. So I'm gonna read there's two more. I'm gonna read two more, okay? When he asked the taxi to giddy up. Oh, giddy on up. Uh, dear Dino, this is the moment my soul actually left my body. We were getting into a cabin Soho. It was a great day, great energy, mutual attraction. Oh, love to hear that. And the driver says, Where to? This man, who by the way is a fully grown man with a beard and a credit score, uh, leans forward and says, All right, Gideon. You I hope you immediately got out of the car. So she says, he literally said that to a New York City taxi driver like he was fucking mounting a horse. Not a last, not Ted Lass, though. Uh the next the taxi driver looked at him like he was legally unwell. Well, you know, if it walks like a duck, uh, there was no recovery. I feely I feel like I got fully combusted internally. The date was over in that exact fucking moment, even though I it technically continued for the next three hours. I know you're like it's so you like suffered through the next three hours. I get it. You you you got the ick, but like you didn't have the courage to be like, I'm done, I'm done because it just started. And also, how awkward. Also, reclaim your time, girls. To this day, when I'm having a bad day, I whisper gody up to myself, and it helps to reset me. Thank God for the ick. Yeah. You know, the ick is your gut, and the gut has a whole is like your second brain. So I know that's right. The uh last one is the angel numbers guy. Oh god, you actually like describing all gay men. Um so dear Dino, thank you for the Instagram lives during the pandemic. You're so very welcome. Um here's a story about a guy with angel numbers. Okay. He told me he was very spiritual. He meditated, he journaled, he said things like the universe sent you.

Well, yeah. We're from the SARS, babe. So cute. I love a mindful man. Yeah, me too. Then the pedestal fucking cracked. I can't wait to see this. We're out at dinner and he looks at the bill. It was literally $83, and he goes, ah, eight plus three is eleven. An angel number. Isn't that this is a sign that we should move in together?

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Then he asked if I would be open to a twin flame merging session. Nope, he's a cult leader. An emerging cult leader. Run. I'm calling your dad. Uh, no sex. Um, not a merging session. In fact, what you're getting is blocked deleted and salted and burned for safety. You know what? Send your location to your best friend. You know what I mean? Like stuff like that makes me scared. I watch too much 48 hours 2020 and dateline to be fooled by some fucking douchebag who's gonna no, we're not moving in together. Twin Flames. Girl, do you have Netflix or not? I I can't. I can't be educating you about we're not doing that. And you seem charismatic, which is also a red flag. So, um, anyway, listen, you guys, that's it for this episode.
