Today's episode is a little bit of an episode, a little bit of an announcement, a lot of things that I'm really excited about. So okay. Here goes nothing. Okay, so we came back last week. We got to talk about the World Cup. That was so much fun. Thank you again to my friend Nicole for coming and telling me I'm a little sad that I have to wait another four years for that. But also, you know, it was a lot of games to watch. So what it did more than anything is make me very, very excited for the American football season. And here henceforth shall be known as football. Regular football. Okay, FIFA's over. Sorry guys, we're going back to the regular. So as you know, my team, the Philadelphia Eagles, is going to crush this year. I'm very excited. Go birds. So today's episode is a little bit about like a little bit of reflection over like where I have mentally been for the last like 18 months. Um, and a little bit of like sharing the things that I'm excited about and a little bit having an announcement. Where have I been in the last 18 months? Maybe some of you are brand new. Maybe I went viral, and maybe there's a hundred thousand of you listening. That would be really awesome. That would be super excited. So, hi to my hundred thousand new friends. I'm so excited to meet you. So, maybe this is like a mini introduction to me and like kind of what I'm about and what I'm here for. So, 18 months ago, I found myself unemployed from a job that I have had for at that point it was like 18 years, and the reason genuinely was like bogus. I got my job back, and it it shook me. It and not in a way, you know, like it was just this crazy thing where it happened, and before I even got to my car, I just had this overwhelming sense of peace. I just knew I knew that it was gonna be okay, and I don't know how to explain that because, like, that that's you know, this in this economy at Christmas, it was December 13th. So I called my husband and I said, Here's the thing: I have you, I have our two wonderful kids, I have my family, I have my friends, I have a very beautiful life. Um you know what? This is something else. This is something else, and so this is life, just I don't know, and from literally day one, I was just like, life is trying to tell me something, and so yeah, that was 18 months ago, and since then I got it. I I went to a different job for a year, and it's funny because I knew when I got that before I got that job, I just again I had this feeling that like it was about the people, like there was just something about that place wherever I went. I didn't even know where I was gonna go that like it was for the people, and maybe it wasn't even for me, maybe it was for them. And truth be told, I forgot about that for a little while, but that comes back. And so I got this job and I worked there, and it was really great, and I had some really amazing experiences. I went on what I'm gonna call like my personal mini retreat with a dear, dear friend of mine who I promise you will meet because he's incredible, and the truth is that he like spoke life into me in really incredible ways. Um, almost like a mentor or like a I like that I sound a little bit like Alexis Rose because I am an insane Chitskrieg fan. Insane. Um, my dream is to have a conversation. No, not my dream. I will have a conversation with Dan Levy one day. I don't even know if I said it right. Levy, Levy, I'm sorry. Dan, help me. So, my friend just he really poured into me and and he saw some of what I saw and he helped me see things that I didn't. And that sounds really cryptic and weird, but you know what? He just made me believe in myself in new and really exciting ways. So I got that job back, and at the same time I knew I was like, I this is not a life that fits me anymore. This is not, you know, for a lot of my career, we would say career, I really felt lost. And every place that I thought I went, I felt like maybe I wasn't supposed to be there or I couldn't get it quite right. And so after I got my job back that I had lost, you know, it wasn't just like life was gonna go back to what it was. I knew life was forever gonna be different for me, and I didn't necessarily know how or what or why, but for sure I could just tell that everything was gonna be different from like just I don't know. And so sure enough, here we are. And fast forward a lot of stories that I'm really excited to tell you, and you know what? I don't want to spoil them, I don't want to spoil them now. I have a lot of stories to tell, and if you're here in the beginning, there's a good chance you met me behind the bar. There's a good chance you met me as the bubbly bartender, and let me tell you, I loved that. It that you guys gave me so much love that I genuinely felt like I could do this, that I felt like this is you know, I just want my bar to be a little bit bigger, and you know, I'm tired of washing dishes and standing on my feet for 10 hours, and that's fair, and that's all I'll say about that. But this is what I love telling stories, and I have so many to tell, and there's so many things that I'm really passionate about. I feel like I'm getting off track over the last year and a half. I have taken a lot of time to evaluate where I'm going and what I'm doing and the things that I am looking forward to, and kind of honing in on how I want to do that and how I want to come back being out there, you know. I work a different job now. I actually get to save my energy a little bit in my job now, and I get to come back here and I get to share it with you, and that's really exciting for me because you know what? You want to be here, and I want to be here, and there's so many exciting things for us to discuss. So, so yeah, so with all of that being said, I haven't very, very excited that I am officially launching a Patreon, okay, and in my Patreon is going to be some exclusive content. I'm gonna get into a lot of things over there, and I'm just really excited. I'm excited to dig in some of my favorite topics. I'm gonna talk about polyamory, I'm gonna talk about my life, I'm gonna talk, and that's not to say I'm not talking about that stuff here, but the Bobby Babbel is a place where I am excited to learn about people and and and just you know, but my Patreon is gonna be really exciting, and you know, it's just a little bit to help me kind of transition to being able to really create for you guys and really create a place like just this virtual little world that is I don't know my bar. That that is my bar. My Patreon is my bubble, and I'm really excited to share my bubble with you and to invite you into my bubble. Uh some of the things that I already know are happening, I can't promise early access to this podcast because you guys I I'm promising now, they're coming out on Mondays, okay? So that's the official word. Mondays, our pro our podcast drops. Um, I'm not gonna miss it anymore because this is my job now. And um really excited about that, and uh yeah, so I I can't promise you guys early episodes, but you're gonna have first looks at some of the stuff I'm working on because I'm gonna be working on a lot of things. I have decided that my ADHD is my superpower and not the thing that's gonna keep me down. So I'm almost always gonna be doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and there's gonna be ways that you can kind of pick and choose what of my content you like. And so I already have a couple of little like in-between podcast ideas that I'm working on that's gonna be a Patreon exclusive and I don't know what to call them, but me babbling in the car. I've got I'm I'm gonna do car babbles. So once a week I'm gonna give you guys access unfiltered access to just me and my crazy thoughts while I drive down the road because I usually talk out loud, and sometimes it's funny, and sometimes it's really wise. And I just sometimes it's a shame if I've you guys miss that. So um once a week that's gonna get released. I don't have the actual schedule yet. And um I'm also gonna be doing it's like a little bit of a karaoke in the car, a little bit of like reacting to the things I see on the streets of Florida, and um that's gonna release as well. So in the first when this launches, those are already gonna be available for the week, and that's um, I'm really, really excited. They're gonna be preloaded onto there for you, and um yeah. So I'm really excited. So this podcast is like it's my baby, and we're going, we're going full tilt. We're going all the way in. We are falling down the rabbit hole. Um, let's go. And I'm really excited. So I'll I'll see you then. I'll see you soon. I guess, I guess, follow my Patreon. There's gonna be a free one too. So you don't have to support, right? Like it's not that, but I would love it if you did, because there's gonna be a lot of stuff on there that's really fun, and I'm really looking forward to making.
unknownOkay. Bye!
SPEAKER_00After editing this episode, what I decided was to give you guys a sneak peek into my car babbles and give you some sort of idea of what you might be in store for. So stay tuned for my very first car babble number one. Uh, you're gonna be able to get all of them weekly over at my Patreon. It's www.patreon.com slash love sherry lee. Um all right. Here's my jingle and then my car babble. I'll see you guys next week. So a little bit what I think I want to do here is just like info dump. Like there's things I just want to talk about, and I want to talk to anyone who will listen. And so I think this is that. And right now, what I want to talk about is what I assume is what I have come to assume is a neurodivergent trait. Trait, so to speak. Holy moly, that's a lot of cop cars. Wow, zers, my goodness. It's like hundreds, it's a cop, please. So for reference in case this does not get cut. But the idea is that these are gonna be edited only for silence. Only that's it. That's it. Oh, there's like a permanent phantom fireworks here? I didn't know that. Alright, anyway. Um, but I'm driving down the road and I I'm looking at places that I don't think I've been on this section of this road, despite being in this city for nearly 20 years. I haven't been on this road in a while. And it just makes me think like, do other people even think about those things? Because that's what I think about. And sometimes I think that the things I think about are probably like, I don't know, a little weird. So I'm wondering if maybe I'm not weird. I'm wondering if other people think these things do. And so I have always wondered, and I still don't understand the reason why, but like I am so nostalgic. Like, I don't know why I'm so nostalgic. And as I'm driving down the road, I see a place where when my mom first moved to Florida, we went for her to buy her dream car. She wanted a convertible, and so I drive past this place and I literally can imagine it and picture it, and I can picture, you know, her taking the photo when I I don't know, and I just like do other people I mean, I do that everywhere I look. Everywhere I look, I feel like if I've actually I'm about to make a left and I'm thinking about another time that I crossed this intersection in the other way. I don't remember where I was going, I don't remember what I was doing, but I just think it's really interesting that like I constantly I feel like my life is just consistently like flash, flash, flash, flash, flash, like memory, memory, memory. I don't know. Is everybody else like that? Am I weird? I mean weird. I'm probably weird, but you know what? That's okay. Because maybe there's like one other person out there because sometimes you guys are like, no, that's that's I do that and I feel a little bit better. But I think it's really nice to be nostalgic. Like, I can't decide if it's you know, a cynical person might say that I'm only thinking of the I'm only remembering the good things, and maybe that's true, but like why wouldn't you? What is so bad about like remembering the good things? I like I don't know, and I believe in trauma and I believe in trauma responses and things like that, but like if I'm able to, I don't even think I'm responsible for this, but like I appreciate that like I remember very little sweet details from very many things. I feel like for me that's oh one of the reasons I like driving around. You know, I was on a road the other day and I was passing this really beautiful fence that's like a few towns over from me, and it's just a long old school looking wooden fence, but every 10 or 12 feet there's this like beautiful flowers painted on them, and I just look at that and I think like oh my goodness, like I don't know, somebody somebody painted that with their hands, and it like I think about the people who painted it, or whose idea was it, or the people I can just imagine the people that are walking by it, and like I don't think other people think about that stuff. People be like, hey, what's up, what are you thinking? And I'm like, nothing, but it's like all of these crazy things while just driving past a fence. But even then, when I was in the car with my friend, I was like, Oh, last week I was on this road and I was on the phone with you when that happened. Like, I don't know, my memory is just a very weird thing, and I like it. It's not that I don't remember bad things, this is absolutely rambly. I you know what? If this is the first of many, it's a thing you'll get used to. You'll either love it or you'll hate it. I'm gonna talk about a lot of different things. I'm just gonna babble. That's it. I'm gonna babble. Oh, a train. That's pretty. Yeah, I the thing is, I uh I was using my phone for my GPS and then I took it out so that I could record this. And um well, now I don't have GPS, so we're winging it here. Good thing, that's another thing that I just want to babble about. Is this a neurodivergent thing as well? But like I am wildly good at direction. I always have been, I've always been fascinated by it. It's absolutely genetic. My father was a truck driver for most of his life, he is very good with direction. I think I get a lot of my narrow divergence from him, if I'm being really honest. I get like one from one side and one from the other side. It's kind of funny. But oh, I'm supposed to turn this off. Directions found it. Okay, so the thing that's really interesting is that my child is also really good with directions. He has been, he was good with directions before he could speak sentences. Okay, like we used to go visit our friends, and he knew the roads to get there like before he could say words. But if he knew where we were going, he would make noise when it was time to turn and he would point. It's absolutely crazy. We have lived in the same house for like seven years now, and still sometimes he will remember and talk about the roads that get him to the preschool he went to when we lived in a different house. But he could get there from where we live, it's so strange. And so, yeah, I don't know if that's like a neurodivergent thing, and sometimes I think like maybe he'll be a cartographer, like I think that would be really cool. Um, because I just I'm this I'm the same way. I like I'm really good at directions. If I go somewhere one time, I'm like, um, okay, well, I can get home. Like, I don't put the GPS in. No, do I make mistakes sometimes? Of course, of course I do. But there are people that I know who have lived pretty much in the same one hour radius for like their entire lives and still use GPS like all the time, and I totally understand, like a lot of people use it, many people, including my husband, who I am poking fun at right now. I'm sorry, I love you. Um, that's okay, he'll never listen to this. Um he he does it for the traffic, and I totally understand that. Like, especially where we live, you a two-mile, a two-mile something could be two hours, and you might have to go around. So, like, I totally get that, but I just like don't need it. Like, I actually thrive on not needing it. Uh, I almost play a game with myself all the time about it. Uh, I'm currently doing it right now. I think that's it. I think that's gonna be that's the babble of the week. This uh we're we're winging it here. I I want you to know we're winging it. I don't really know what I'm doing here, and uh but I'm gonna keep doing it because this is fun actually, and I'm really excited about it. So I guess I'll talk to you guys soon.
