A Marriage Turned Deadly: Did Molly Martens Get Away With Cold-Blooded Murder?

Amy Townsend, Chris Nathan

Jason Corbett was found naked and covered in blood—beaten to death with a bat and a brick. His wife, Molly Martens, and her father, a retired FBI agent, claimed it was self-defense. But investigators say the scene looked staged, the 911 call was delayed, and the victim never stood a chance.

They were convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to decades in prison. But after a long appeals battle, their convictions were tossed. In 2023, they took a plea deal, served just a little over four years, and walked free.

Now, thanks to a Netflix documentary, the case is back in the spotlight... and people are left questioning the same thing: Did two people just get away with murder?
