The Bible says “They that know their God shall be strong and do exploits.” Knowing God is more important now than it has ever been. The organic nature of spiritual relationship is being eroded with a synthetic substitute that has no depth or baring to the true believer because it is rooted in the gospel of self, and not the sacrificial gospel of Jesus Christ. To know God is to know his word, live by it, but most importantly stand on it.

Welcome to Rima Bible Studies. Today our topic is about know your God. And this is taken from the book of St. John, chapter 14, and we are majoring on verse 6 to 9. There is no enduring system of theology, science or philosophy, that can answer the age-old question of the why of creation. Having knowledge of God can replace the vague speculation of God. There are two facts that one must understand where God is concerned. And that is one, the father, two, the family. The plan of redemption involves these two factors. God dreams for a family, and the desire to rescue us from the power of death. The dream coming through, the new heaven, the new earth, creation, is a reflection of God's dream. A home for his family and humanity on a whole. A home filled with all kinds of wonderful things that God thought his family would need. God filled it with untold treasure. You hear people pursuing gold, diamonds, emeralds, and so many other wonderful treasures. These are treasures beyond human comprehension. But yet it pleases God to fill the earth with these things. For some reason or the other, God believes it's important for the earth to be equipped with these wonderful treasures. That is what he wanted for his family. God's mind to conceive such thought, it reflects how much he thought about us as his family. He not only creates the heavens, but he also shows his power in creating the earth and everything that dwells therein. God created the moon, he creates the stars, the sun, the planetary constellation in space. These worlds seem seen and unseen. In the book of Hebrew, chapter 11, the Bible tells us that God, through faith, created the worlds that is. And we are clear from the book of Genesis, chapter one, how he went about it. First and foremost, the Bible tells us how God came into a state of chaos, voidness, disorder of varying kinds, and begin to create according to his divine plan, knowing what he wants it to be like, knowing what he believes it should look like, and knowing who he wants to dwell in his creation. We see how God holds these things together by the power of gravity in their various orbit. Again, it demonstrates what God's thought process was towards earth and earth creation. God loves us, and his love is unprecedented. I believe that God place us into this earth with a unique plan that even the angels clearly could not even comprehend why God would create humanity with such an extension. You may ask yourself, what is that extension? When God created the angel, he made them as spirits. They are spirit beings. But yet, when God created us, he created us as spirit, with body, with soul, and with spirit. And each plays their unique role. As spirit, we connect with God because we are made in his image, in his likeness. And as soul, we have the consciousness of who we are and what we are. He gave us choice, which is the greatest gift ever given to any creation. He gave it to us and trusted us that we would demonstrate our love towards him by the choices we made. He gave us a body that connects us to the world around us so that we can enjoy the beauty of his creation. Not just since he created the heavens on the earth, but it appears that his plan had gone back into infinity in the past. St. John chapter 1 told us that in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God, and the word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten Son of God. It also informed us that he came unto his own, and his own receive him not, but to as many that receive him, to them gave he power to become sons of God. So we are privileged because of who we are to God and who God is to us. In the book of Ephesians 1, it further tells us that we have been blessed with all spiritual blessings from before the foundation of the world. This again demonstrates that God's plan for humanity had been in existence, been in the making from before the world as we know it were formed. It's again demonstrate the extent to which God loves us. And as Jesus walked and carried out his ministry, there was a point when he was about to conclude on the purpose why he was moving around in flesh. And he was giving his disciples the last instruction. He said to them, said now he was going away. He was about to leave the earth. And he was talking about him being going to his father and leaving his disciples behind. And they got fascinated with the concept of Jesus talking about his father. And they asked him, said Lord, show us the Father, and it will satisfy us. And Jesus said to them, Have I been so long time with you? And don't you know me? In fact, let me read what it says from the scripture. And Jesus said unto him, I am the way, I am the truth, and I am life. And by me, no man cometh to the Father but by me. If you had known me, you should have known my father also. And from henceforth you know him and have seen him. And this, of course, fascinated the disciples, because they have never heard anyone speak like that. Not only did he equate himself to the Father, normally people understand the concept of knowing God in spirit or even in their mental capacity. But when he went further to say, you have seen him, that's when he took his disciples out of their comfort zone. He took them into a whole new level of revelation, understanding that he wasn't just merely a man, but he was God wrapped up in human clothing. As the Bible has promised us, that a virgin would be with child and bring forth a son. They would call his name Emmanuel, which by interpretation means God with us. And so when we talk of knowing your God, it is important that God desire a personal relationship with him, because he's not just merely a spirit in the great somewhere. But it was him who walked with his people on the dusty shore of Galilee. He walked with them, ate with them. He understood their situation. He was touched with the feelings of their infirmities. And so he has a firsthand experience of what it feels like to be human. Yet at the same time, it does not diminish from his essence as God, who is omnipresent, who is omniscient, and who is omnipotent. So when you know God, it's important to understand that you're knowing him on all three levels: spirit, soul, and the physical environment. So whatever your circumstances are, whatever you're going through, God knows about it. He understands it. If you're struggling environmentally, God understand it. Because he had to deal with the environmental pressure of religious leaders, skeptics, political dynasty that did not subscribe to his way of thinking. If you're suffering physically, then he is also touched with the feelings of our infirmities. Because he knows what it is to feel pain. In fact, they beat him all night long. They bruised him. They put crowns of thorns on his head. He had to endure it. And he knows what it is when it comes to the spiritual things, because he is God manifested in flesh. Therefore, it is important for one to understand that you need to know your God and know that he loves you. And his love is not something that you cannot comprehend. He knows what it feels like to hold a sick child in his hands, to bless little children. He knows what it feels like to deal with the rejected, those who are outcasts, because he told Zacchaeus, come down from where you are. You may be feeling isolated, rejected because of your position in life, but today salvation abides at your house. So to all our friends, we want you to know that today is your day to feel the love of God. It may come in different shapes and different forms. It may come in your workplace, on your business. It may come just with families and friends, or it may come with just the touch of someone who cares about you. Now we see how God held everything together by the power of his words. His word kept everything, his word created everything, and so today his word is keeping us. Of course, each consolation has his work to do. Where creation is concerned. The sun never fails to shine, the moon never fails to shine. The stars make the heavens look like a marvelous chandelier. They all fulfilling their purpose. The wind blow, the season comes and go, and yet here our God is always as present, as close to us as the breath we breathe. In fact, Romans 10, verse 8 and 9 tells us that his word is near to us, even in our hearts and in our mouth. The word of faith. And so as we conclude today, we want you to know that your God is a very present help in the times of your trouble, in your joy, in your sadness, in your ups, in your down, you can count on God to be there, understanding every situation you go through. And so, right now, we're going to pray with you so that the presence of God will move into your space, addressing every need, every situation that may present itself. Bow your head with me right now. Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank you for being our God. We appreciate the word of God that comes to us, telling us that you're everywhere present at the same time. We thank you for your word, God, that reassured us that wherever we are, you can reach us. And there is no way we can be out of your divine presence. For those who may be afflicted, for those who are oppressed, for those who are sad, for those who are going through turbulent times in their lives, we pray in Jesus' name that Lord, your Spirit will reach out to them, touch them, and bring them, Father, under the shadows of your great love, that they will know in whom they believe, and that their persuasion will lead them to experience your divine love. Bless your people everywhere in whatever they're going through, whatever experience they're having, let them know, God, that help is always right there with them. Bless everyone. Right now we ask. In Jesus' name. Amen. We want to say goodbye to our friends. God bless you. Until the next time.
