Here is part 2 with the next part of show information ❤️
Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of The Dancing Diaries. You're here with Amy and Lou. Horror, your favorite jewel. Before we start this episode, just a little note, we are now doing the podcast episodes bi-weekly, so you will get an upload every two weeks instead of weekly. Um, just think it will be we'll have more to say if that's every second week. Yeah. Don't miss us too much. Exactly. If you miss us that much, then we can go back to weekly. But for just now, it's every two weeks. And um, yeah. Especially coming into such a busy time. Oh, I know. Show time is like actually I cannot believe we are in well, like it'll be in what first week of April next week. The show's like tomorrow. Don't say that. It literally feels like it tomorrow. How exciting. On the topic of show, that is what today's podcast episode was about. We have done we have done part one of show information, so this is part two. Um, and we'll just chat you through all the things that you need to know. Um, and there probably will be a part three because for the show there is that much that you need to know, especially if it's your first time doing it. Like, yeah, you want to know these things. Maybe you don't need to know, but yeah, I think like drop-off times and all that will like release a lot releases. Celebrities release. Yeah, but that'll all come um a little bit closer to the time, and same with like rehearsal specifics, that'll all come. Costume specifics for own costumes, that'll all come a little bit further down the line, but yeah, we'll get stuck into what we can give you right now. Uh so you should have received an email um this week. No, yeah, yeah, this week. This week about um which classes will need to provide their own costumes. So if you are providing your own costume for a dance, there'll be no costume fee added to your payment. And that and most of the time, like if this is your first show you do with us, it's nothing too crazy. It's not as if we're gonna ask you to go and get like this one specific costume. It's normally a colour or like a theme. So, for example, in the past, we've had like um colour themes. So we've had blue, yeah, we did a barbie, so we did like denim condenum. We've had last year for Kendrick had a blue and black. Um yeah, so it's making use of what you've got. So please don't this is your announcement. So please do not go out and buy anything brand new. Unless you unless you're gonna use it further. Exactly, yeah. And also, like if you genuinely don't have a single thing, then come to us because I found that in my class last year, like it came to the show, and I brought half my wardrobe just to be like, stick that on, that'll make your costume look yeah, a bit like because it was blue and black, like had a blue bandana. Perfect, there you go. Yeah, like and I spoke to my seniors last year and they like chopped and changed what they had and they shared amongst each other. So there are plenty of options, don't be stuck for anything. And if you do have questions or you're unsure of what the theme or whatever it is, come and ask us. Yeah, we're here to help you. Okay, so we'll go through the list um per location. And if we say your current class, that means that you are providing your own costume, so therefore, one less costume fee will be added on. Yeah, does that make sense? It makes sense to me, right? I'm gonna start with Bears Den. I'm gonna go alphabetical, right? So for Bears Den, there is three classes that need to provide their own costume, and that is Saturday, P184 Musical Theatre, Tuesday, P34 Jazz, and Monday, P5 Plus Contemporary. So for that one, um, if you do any of those classes, it will not get added to the show fee. Um, so I think you said already costumes are 12 pounds. Yeah. So for example, I'm thinking like my Monday nights do four dances, tap, jazz, ballet, and contemporary. However, their contemporaries are on costumes, so they'll get charged for three costumes. Yeah. Yeah, it's making sense to me. And I think it's I think the wording is really clear in the email. But again, it's harder to speak something than it is to read it. I think like reading that I go, Horas. Yeah. Um, if you are in Bolfo, this one is for you. So our Saturday P1 to three commercial, our Tuesday P4 to six commercial, Tuesday musical theatre, and Thursday P7 Plus commercial, you are getting your own costume sorted for those dances. So again, no fee, no fee for that. And last but not least, Busby. So the Wednesday P1 to four commercial, Thursday P1 to four hip hop, Friday P1 to four commercial, Friday P1 to four musical theatre, Thursday musical theatre, Wednesday P5 Plus commercial, Tuesday S1 Plus commercial, both classes, so that's 5.15 and 8.15. Both Wednesday S1 hip hop classes, so that is 6 p.m. and 7 30 p.m. And there's three more, I don't know why I said and Wednesday S1 Plus contemporary, advanced jazz, and advanced commercial. There's quite a lot there. But as I say, if you don't have this email, please reach out to us and we'll send it so that you can see it. Um, if you do any of them, no costume fee will be added. Yeah, I don't know if this is worth noting. I can't I did I see it somewhere. If you have a preschool child, they're doing three dances in the show this year. Just if you did the uh festival presentation with us, they only did two dances in the summer show, they get three. Yeah, jazz and ballet. And they are three costume hires for those ones. And if you do a tap and jazz class, although it is one class, it's two dances, yeah. Therefore, two costumes unless stated otherwise. I love the costumes. I always love see her. What's been your favourite costume from the past? Mine immediately comes to my head. I last year at my preschooler from Bothwell did um Shine and Star. Uh-huh. And they were like we neon, like green and pink. Oh yeah. It was very cute. It had like a wee matching scrunchie. It was really cute. Um, what else have they done? You go well, I think of the other ones. Uh I loved the um like Abba style Mamma Mia um yumpsuits. Yeah, I think Abba used them for her Madonna uh mix, so and they were like purple and pink, full length, like Abba style. Yes. Um I remember that. I think the kids were a bit like, what is this? And I was like, Can I take one of these home? Literally, can I squeeze in the one? They're DJ. No chance. Last year, my seniors wore these lovely green dresses for contemporary. There's gorgeous pictures from that one. Yeah, there's some really nice moments from that one. There's a really nice clip in like our promo video of one of the seniors doing a bit of the choreography, uh-huh. Oh, it looks lovely. Um and last year, my P5 to 7s for Tap, they wore a really nice, like black and like oh, what was it? It was like black and it had like a pink and a bow on it, and it was backless. Oh, yeah, yeah. That was really nice. Was that the sequenced ones? Was it with sequence? I can't remember, but I remember it was like a bit backless, like it was kind of cut out the back. With a bow on the back, yeah, it was really nice. And it fit the they did I'm a survivor. Yeah, and it just I don't know, it just looked really nice. I'm not gonna lie, I love all the tutos. Like, if I see a ballet tutu, immediately I'm going, oh my goodness, that is the sweetest thing I've ever seen in my life. A pre-schooler and a ballet tutu, are you kidding me on? I used to hate tutos. Did you? I remember when I was maybe about 12, um, we did uh ballet dance at my dance school, and it was like from a ballet, like the song was from a ballet, and we were wearing um red tutus and we had like tiaras on our heads, and I absolutely hated it. And I think that might have been one of the first sort of years I was wearing like ballet tights, yeah, and I was like, I hate everything about this, yeah. And my mum was like, You look you look fantastic, and I was like, I hate it, I hate it. And I got the ballet shoes with like the um what are they called when you tie them, not elastics? Point shoes. No, not point shoes, like have you never had the ballet shoes and they have like the tapes and you have to tie them. What like the ribbons? Yeah, yeah. That was the first time I we were wearing them as well. Point shoes, yeah. Obsessed. Literally, who has the time for those? No, I know. I used to hate them because the ribbon would always fall down my ankles as well. Like I could never tie them tight enough. Yes, that they would just fall down and I would I would get so frustrated that I was like, no, yeah, no, no, no, no, elastics all the way. Oh, 100%. Also, if you're in the market for new tap shoes, as much as you can, try and get the ones with velcro. Oh my god, yeah, yeah, yeah. They're so much easier for like the kids as well. My preschoolers are getting so good at doing their own shoes literally because of the velcro, they're they're here for it. Um Velcro, I wish I wish as an adult I could wear Velcro shoes and like get away with it. Me too. I think the closest thing we have to easy shoes is crops. That's true. That's true. We've scared so far off. That's all sorry, I know. Do we want to give any sneak peeks? We could, we could. Um okay, why don't we reveal one each and then we'll like allude to the theme. What about that?
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00So I'm trying to think. Let's see. I don't know how to say it without like this. No, so one of them will say it, right? So I think we should reveal one of the preschool um dance songs. Okay, let me go. I'm gonna reveal that one of the preschool dance songs is, and I'm not gonna say what style, because that's still to be left. One of the dance s are going to be minion themed. I love it. I'm gonna be dressed as little minions, it's gonna be the cutest thing ever. That's not me telling you what song it is, I'm just telling you it's despicable me slash minion themed. I'm obsessed. Um, in class, I cannot stop laughing because the song we used might have minions singing in it, and I genuinely am like I can't get through it with a straight face. Anyway, that's my that's my reveal. I'll reveal some how it is a very popular queen song. Okay, I like that again, not saying which one it is. Yeah, a very popular queen song because they've got like a hundred popular songs. I'm not gonna say what it is. Nope. Not gonna say who it is, not gonna say what the vibe is like. Love what is Unreal and So when you hear a Queen song, you go, that's what you were talking about. Yeah, that's it. And then will we like give a clue to what one of like one of the themes is this year? Let's I'm gonna say I'm gonna say something that makes no sense unless you know. Okay, I'm gonna say box. Oh, you don't get that? Do I do I get it? Oh, okay. Now that you've med it out, I kinda get it. Okay, and what can I say? So you've gone for box. I'm gonna go where go on, gal. Picture, picture love that, love it. I don't know. And that's it. Box and picture. I don't know if I was too obvious, but no, I don't think so. I think people will think one thing and then we can go, haha, that's not it, you know? Yeah, okay, true. Uh huh. But there's some there's some good songs this year. I do really like them, and some big ideas, uh-huh. Big um props ideas. I have given you a crazy idea. I know I saw this one of mine. I saw this, which is but uh it's actually two crazy ideas, but two crazy ideas that I think will be fantastic. That one's crazy. I think that's the craziest idea. Uh-huh. But I mean, my my mum does the props and she loves it. Like she's she's our prop queen. She is the prop queen. She's the arts and crafts girly. We love her, we appreciate her and all she does for us. She's working today, or I would go home and tell her all this. So but yeah, I hope that has cleared up lots of information for you on your own costume. Yeah. If there is any, like the sorry, not if there is any, the costumes that we provide for you, the ones that are£12 per costume, um, that will get added as a cover and payment to your April fees. So if you get an email through from us, or you've had an email saying that you know that it's the you the average has been£36. So like£36 has been added. Um we can't control the wording of the email, it is very confusing. It makes it look as if you're like um that your payment for qualities or your payment plan's been changed, it has not. It is just this fee has been added on top of your fees, and it means that you guys don't have to worry about like bringing in envelopes and having exact cash, it just makes things a lot easier for you guys. Um so if you get that email through saying that it's been adjusted, then please don't worry, it is just your costume fee that's been added to April, and from May 1st onwards it will go back to completely normal. Yeah, and also keep an eye out for tickets. Yes, tickets will be April. Yeah, it will be going on sale super soon. As soon as we have the official date, we will obviously reveal it. And remember, tickets for the show are on a first come, first serve, so it is not like at the summer show, no, the Christmas show, where you just queue up with your ticket, like you select your your seats, yeah, it's allocated seating. Allocated seating and it is via Ticketmaster. Yeah. So you will not buy them from us, you go onto the website on Ticketmaster, buy them there. More information will come out on this soon, but just like if you are buying tickets on Ticketmaster, please note that we do not have any control over that at all. So please make sure you're on the right show, on the right time of day, and on the right seats. Because if you like buy them for the wrong show, we can't refund them. It's not our system. So um obviously we'll do what we can to help, but just please like double check. Double check. Yeah, double check what one you're buying for it. Not that you need to worry about this, this they won't be out till um next month. But yeah, um I think that I think we've covered just about everything. Yeah, everything for now, I think. Everything for now. Lots of lots more excuse me, whoa sorry, lots more information will be will be coming out soon. Yeah, we have a big lost FAQs that will come out. We're really excited for you guys to see what we've been working on. It's been a a fast year already. Yep. I feel like January dragged and now I'm like, why are we at the end of March? No, I just feel like this whole year has gone by in an absolute. I'm excited because obviously like we're seeing that the kids are working so hard, so it's it's always fun to watch that pay off on stage. I think that for me, like March, April are the difficult months to go through because it feels like as you say, like it's as if it's not, but it's as if time is running out and everything gets a bit crazy. Um, this is for me not the kids, the kids are doing great, but it's then so nice when you get closer to the show and like into show time that you can step back and go, okay. Yeah, it's so rewarding. Like it is 100% the most manic day on planet earth. Although, like, if you were flying the wall, I don't think you would see that it's manic. I think you can tell when you're like in it, yeah. But I I feel it's manic, but I think if someone was watching me, they'd go, Wow, Cam Kill collected. Yeah, I remember Emma one one year was doing the slideshow, yeah, and I went up to chat to her in between the shows and she was like, That was like so slick. And I was like, You're right, it was. That's because we have that down to like we do science, we have the science sort of yeah, we've got the schedule down, so but yeah, um thank you guys for listening in. And as always, if you guys have any questions or anything at all, just reach out to us and we will get back to you. Yes, and we'll catch you on the next episode of the Dancing Diaries, probably probably on that again. We we can't get rid of each other. No, that's it. Right, we'll see you later. Bye. Bye.
