Rising Into Self-Empowerment — A Healing Journey Told Out Loud
R.I.S.E. is where truth meets transformation.
Hosted by Keya McClain-Goodwin, The Hardcore Healing Pen Coach, this exclusive subscriber-only podcast peels back every layer of healing — grief, growth, trauma, love, betrayal, loss, reinvention, and the sacred work of returning home to yourself.
Each episode offers a raw, intimate glimpse into the turning points that shaped her life:
the job she walked away from, the friendships that broke then rebuilt her, the family wounds she had to recover from, the grief that taught her tenderness, and the healing that continues to reveal who she truly is.
But R.I.S.E. isn’t just about her story.
It’s about your story tucked inside hers.
Through soulful storytelling, guided reflections, and weekly journal prompts, R.I.S.E. invites you to heal out loud, honor your truth, release what no longer serves you, and embrace the life you’re becoming.

Cousin Betrayal - When Family Turns Into Your First Opponents
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Cousins are often positioned as built-in siblings—sharing childhood memories, family traditions, and deep emotional bonds. But when jealousy, competition, and unresolved family dysfunction take root, those relationships can quietly turn harmful.
In this episode, I reflect on my lived experience with cousin betrayal, toxic comparisons, rumors, and the pain of being misunderstood within my own family system. I explore how early exposure to family conflict can normalize emotional abuse, distort self-worth, and teach us to tolerate mistreatment in the name of loyalty.
This conversation challenges the idea that “blood is thicker than water” and reframes it through a healing lens—one that prioritizes safety, discernment, and peace. It’s about recognizing when family becomes an opponent instead of a protector, releasing what no longer serves you, and choosing to break generational cycles rather than repeat them.
This episode is not about blame.
It’s about truth, protection, and choosing a healthier way forward—for yourself and for the next generation.
