Hey y'all, um, welcome back to another episode. Today we are going to talk about the devil's ways um and just really exposing them and getting into looking at um and kind of studying the way that he is so that we can have open eyes and being more aware of his attacks. Um, but before we get started, you know I always like to start in prayer. Let's get started. Dear Heavenly Father, I just ask that you open our hearts, that you open our minds, that you fill us up with your Holy Spirit, that you fill us up with your presence, that you fill us up with your daily bread, Father. I pray that you speak through me during this message, and I pray that every single listener listening right now um will receive your word and that they um will have a takeaway from today's word and that they will walk away changed. Amen. Alrighty. So we're gonna jump right on in and we're gonna start by looking at who our enemy used to be. So we're gonna kind of like look at the background of this first. So he used to lead worship in heaven, he was very well respected. However, his pride in his heart and he became very arrogant and he really wanted to overthrow God and take control. He didn't wake up one day and just decide this, but this was like a lifestyle that he chose and not a single mistake. And so over time, you know, the Lord was patient with him, but you know, he had enough, and especially when the devil or Satan was trying to take reigns over in heaven, then that's when the Lord was like, That's it, you're gone. So in Ezekiel chapter 28, verses 16 through 18 says this your rich commerce led you to violence, and you sinned. So I banished you in disgrace from the mountain of God. I expelled you, O mighty guardian, from the place among the stones of fire, your heart was filled with pride. Because of all your beauty, your wisdom was corrupted by your love for splendor. Well, splendor is great beauty. Uh richness, it's like this brilliant light that catches your eye. Okay, so he was corrupted by his great beauty, and he was corrupted by his richness and um this beautiful light that he was. Um It continues to go on and it says, So I threw you to the ground and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings. You defy you sorry, you defiled your sanctuaries with your many sins and you dishonest trade. So I brought fire out within you and it consumed you. I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who are watching. So if we before we move on, I I want us to learn from the devil's mistakes here. Okay, pride is what got him kicked out. Pride is overly confident, and pride is a hundred percent what got him in trouble here. Okay, let's not be caught being prideful because if you ever have a moment of being pride, I really want to encourage you to repent immediately and to get down on your knees and to pray wherever you are. Because we can definitely get caught doing this as believers, you know. Um, for example, sometimes when we win somebody to Christ, or we come, you know, we start being a disciple, we feel pride for what we we have accomplished, or maybe you get a new job and you do really well, or you get a promotion, right? But I we need to be humbled because we would not have any of this if it wasn't for God. It is only because of him, it is only because of his power, it is only because of his holy spirit and his purpose and his vision and his plan and his purpose for us that any of this happens. That you it's only because of him that you have a roof over your head. It is only because of him that you have money. This is not your money, this is his money. So if there's ever a moment where you feel prideful, I it I just encourage you to uh uh give yours like it be the salt in your own life and repent and immediately catch yourself and um you know and yeah, and pray and ask for forgiveness because only the Lord deserves that glory. Um so moving on, so we kind of like looked at, you know, uh his um reputation in heaven and and really what got him kicked out, right? So next in our timeline is when God created Earth, and as most of us know, the devil arrived in the form of a snake. Go figure. I don't know if you ever heard of the song Um Slick by Mike T. And I'm definitely not gonna sing it. But he raps and it's like the devil's stinky s I think it's like sneaky slick or stinky slick, something like that. I don't know. I just listened to it yesterday while I was working out and it hit. Anyway, um, so we're gonna look at the first thing that he did after God created the earth. He sabotaged by convincing Adam and Eve to eat in the Garden of Eden, right? I'm sure we all know the story. The Lord then established a war between Satan and all of women's offspring, all of our all of our babies, right? So uh you can imagine that Satan is full of bitterness, that he was kicked out of heaven, that he tried to, you know, overtake heaven and he failed, and that the d that God caught him and so he kicked him out. And so you can imagine the bitterness that is in his heart, and so his main purpose is to remove God from people's hearts and to try to block them from receiving the word of salvation, and so as we look around the world we see this happening all the time, and it gets more and more aggressive still to this day, and so it starts the second earth was here, and the second the very first humans were here. What did he do? He convinced Adam and Eve to eat that apple, which as we know turned the entire world around. So it tells us in 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verses 3 and 4. It says Satan has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. So literally, that's all he wants to do is he wants to blind us, he wants to put blinders on our eyes so that we cannot see God, so that we cannot understand God, so that we cannot receive the message of salvation, so that we will question why, or we will question if it's real, or we will question all these things, right? Like his main purpose is to downgrade God and to hide us from Him. And so, how many times do we see this in our lives? He schemes our mornings. This is an example, and it's definitely one where he attacks me. You know, that 17 things go wrong on your way to work, you know, your coffee spills, and you forgot your phone, so you had to turn back and get it, and you woke up late, and you couldn't find your other shoe, and you couldn't find the right bra. And the baby threw up on you, and the kids wouldn't get up, and you forgot the dog that you left outside for 30 minutes while you were in the shower and getting ready, and then you let him in, and then you're like, Oh crap, I also have to feed him, and oh crap, there's no food in the container, and then I have to go get more, right? Like all these things. So, like he schemes, and when 17 things go wrong on our way to work, so that we are set up for failure, so that we're ready to be full of negativity, and we're ready to be full of anger, and we're ready to be full of bitterness, to blind us from God's glory, and to blind us from God's presence for the rest of the day. He just distracts us to keep us away. You know, that's just one simple example. Um but we're going to now I really want to get into um there is twelve different faces or descriptions that the Bible has for us, um, you know, just uh characteristics of Satan, and I really want to get into them. So we're gonna get on that. Um, excuse me. Um the Lord woke me up and was like, you should record your episode before church in the morning. And so here I am, but please work with me. My brain is like still waking up. I'm like, I haven't even had like caffeine. Like I literally came out here and sat right down because the Lord woke me up and was like, you should get up like right now and do the podcast because you're not gonna have time today. So I was like, oh, okay. And then I was like, oh, I should make lemon water, or oh, I should make coffee. And then I was like, you know what? No. If the Lord woke me up, then like just my you know, just how my life would be, I would make that coffee and then mosey on over here and sit down and record this episode, and then like something would happen, or somebody would interrupt me, and I was like, you know what? No, I'm just just gonna obey. Anyway, let me let me get on back on my message. So the 12 descriptions or uh faces of Satan that the Bible has for us. The very first one we kind of already talked about is the schemer, right? So in Genesis chapter 3, verse 1 says, Now the serpent was the most cutting of all wild animals. And so we see these schemes since the beginning of time with Adam and Eve and the apple, right? And back to what like literally I just said, but think about them times in the morning. He schemes. How does he scheme you? You know, he he I don't know if you've ever seen Gossip Girl, right? Like Blair or like I don't know, the TV shows, like there's always that one person. I just think of like that one girl in high school, but it doesn't always ha it's not always that character, but right, you know, there's that person who's scheming. And so that's literally what he does all day long. He schemes away. Um recently I know I think I've talked about this. My mom and my um brother-in-law had to move in, and so the Lord was scheming, setting me up to be full of anger, and it was setting me up to to keep my eyes away from the Lord, and was just scheming and was allowing, you know, um, was trying to get certain things to happen to blind my eyes from God's glory.

So, how many times does he do that in your life? Um, and we we need to be more aware of of that. Um, so the second face is a liar. Genesis chapter 3, verse 4a. Um, the first part says, No, you will certainly not die. Okay, I just took that little blip, but it is a conversation that he's having with Eve. And right after Eve tells him what God's instructions were, and she just says to him, you know, we can't eat um that tree, right? And so he basically straight up lies to her and he makes her believe that it wasn't true. Like he his literal answer to her was no, that's certainly not true. You're not gonna die. Um, also, I pulled another scripture for this one, John Um chapter 8, verse 44. See, this one's the pretty um more famous one. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is the father of lies. So think about a time where us as women, um I'll speak for myself. We have mental breakdowns at night, and our mind tells us, like, you know, we're not enough, or we can't juggle all the hats, it's too much, right? Or, you know, we don't look good, like you know, he weighs on our body image and we and we start thinking that we like we look fat and we're ugly or whatever. He's straight up lying to us. Just like he lied to Eve. Yet sometimes we believe it. For whatever reason, we were vulnerable that day, maybe we were in our feelings, maybe our spouse didn't you know pay attention to us that day the way we wanted them to, maybe he just thinks we're overwhelming and like we were doing 17,000 things and it was just really stressful that day, or maybe we're nervous for something that's coming up soon, right? Like we're vulnerable for whatever reason, and the devil sees that, and so he's like, hmm, I'm gonna take this opportunity to lie to them, and then that's exactly what happens, and he lies, and he makes you think that you can't do it, and it's never gonna happen, and you're not enough, and you know, all the things, and um again, we really need to be more aware of that, you know. Of course, during our mental breakdown, of course, we're emotional, and so we're going through all the emotions, but I just encourage you to um have open eyes and notice it sooner. It's okay to have that mental breakdown that you were stressed that day and that you just have all these emotions built up. But the second that you hear in your head like you're not enough, or like you can't juggle the hats, I want you to stop and pray and rebuke that in the name of Jesus because that's the devil. And not real and a lie. Alright, so number three, avenger. Um, in Psalms chapter 8, verse 2, he says this from the mouth of infants and nursing babies, you have established a stronghold on account of your adversaries in order to silence the enemy and the avenger. So the word avenger means somebody who seeks revenge as a means for justice on their belief. So we see this as Satan tries to seek revenge on reproducing life and God's babies, and you know, as God grows his creation, we see the devil wants to seek revenge. We see, you know, um miscarriages, and we see abortions, and we see it being more normalized, and we see, you know, it being more women's rights are encouraging us to have control over our bodies, to encourage us to have the option to tempt us to get abortions when we, you know, get pregnant on accident, right? So the devil literally tries everything that he can to have revenge on God creating life. We see that all the time. Um, number four is the destroyer. Um, Isaiah chapter 54, verse 16b. Just I pulled the second part of the verse. It says, I have created the destroyer to cause havoc. Right? So um, we see Satan destroy things all the time. We see him burn down churches on news every once in a while. You know, sometimes we see people stray away from their faith and he destroys their salvation. We see him destroy babies' lives, we see him destroy our plan and our purpose, you know, for God by simply just distracting us and giving us a spirit to be lazy, right? Like, how many things can you think of right now that you have seen Satan destroy? Um, number five, the tempter. This is a big one. Matthew chapter four, verses three through nine. I'm only gonna um read verse three. Um, but when I read it, you'll you'll understand why I say three through nine, because it's like the whole uh scene there. Um so verse three is the tempter came to him and said, If you are the son of God, tell these stones to become bread, right? So this is when Jesus was in the wilderness and he was fasting and praying, and Satan had come and tempted Jesus to cave in and eat and make bread and bow down to him. So that's what those verses are, is that scene there. But if you've ever fasted, then you have definitely witnessed Satan tempting you to cave in, and he tempts you to, you know, eat that thing that you're fasting, or whatever it is, if it's not food and social media or whatever. He he wants you to cave in so bad and to do that thing that you're fasting and to ruin the fast. I just got done fasting Celsius and Alani's. Um, I am like bad with those. I have one like just about every morning, and I was fasting them recently, and boy oh my gosh, I was tempted so bad, and there was like a cold one in the fridge, and it was just like there, and it was like every morning I walked in the fridge, and the devil was like, That looks crispy and cold, and I was like, No, we're not doing that, right? But he tempts us so much to go back to our old way of living. Um, referencing my last episode of Remembering Lot's wife, I really encourage you to just go take a listen because we really get into and talk about the dangers of being tempted about you know our own life and what God has delivered us from and the warning that Jesus has on us for falling into that trap. And so I really encourage you to um take a listen to that. Um but how many times does he tempt you? How many times does he tempt you with things um, you know, with things that we shouldn't be doing? Um, again, all just to ruin and keep our eyes away from the Lord. Number six, the accuser in Revelation chapter 12, 10b says, For the accuser of our brothers and sisters who accuses them before our God day and night has been hurled down. How many times do we see the devil accuse us? I see so many stories. I have my own actual so many stories where I was spreading Jesus, I was being the light, was being God's love, I was going out and bringing somebody to Christ, especially somebody who was broken. And as I begin to walk with that person, they accuse me for absolutely terrible things when my heart was pure and my heart was genuine and my heart was focused on the Lord and my heart was nothing but godly. Yet I will be accused of these like terrible things that truthfully sometimes I get attacked and I'll cry over them because I'm like, that is not at all like what was happening or my intentions behind it. And I immediately, you know, you will see, and I can tell that the devil was speaking through them to attack me, and he accuses us of things. Number seven, the Prince of Demons. Matthew 12, 24b says, The Prince of Demons, that is the fellow that will drive out demons. So if you go up in the verse, it's talking about this guy who could drive out demons. Um, so that's what they mean by the fellow who could drive out demons. But I just kind of pulled the actual point where they called him the Prince of Demons. So we know that he is the head of all demons, as we know. Um, but also the prince of all demonic attacks within our homes, within our families, right? Um, and so I encourage you that whenever the Lord, just side note, but not side note, whenever the Lord wakes you up in the middle of the night that you and you, you know, sometimes like are fearful because you're like, why am I awake right now? And you feel like you should pray, you should. Because the Lord sees what we don't. And I encourage you to pray over your home, anoint your home, intercede on on their behalf of your home, and you know, rebuke any demonic attacks that could be happening in your home. You know, there could be demonic attacks right then and there that the devil is the prince of right there, and laziness, anger, division, accusation, temptation, whatever it is, and speak the word over your home in every room and rebuke that devil. Um, I have a poster on what and like to say and like how to anoint and pray over your home over on Pinterest, and it I highly encourage you to um go over there and click on it, or actually I made it easier. I'm just gonna make it easier. In the show notes below, I have the um poster. So like if you go down the show notes and I simple with a big link, um, there is a poster on how to anoint your home and um there's scriptures for um like there's like a little template and scriptures and and stuff that you can follow and things to pray over your you know doors and your bedrooms and your living room and so on and so forth. Um all right, anyway, I'm gonna keep going because we still have some more to get into. Um the eighth one is a murderer, okay? So in John 8, 44 again, is he was a murderer from the beginning, not holding on to the truth as there is no truth in him. So we see murder all the time, right? Um, this is crime rates, abortion rates, etc. You know, just I don't even I don't even like I feel like it speaks for itself, so I don't really know like how to explain that. But he's a murderer, right? And and we see the devil's work do this all the time. Um, number nine, we have the ruler of the air and the earth. Um, so in Ephesians chapter two, verse three, he says, All of us lived among him at once, gratifying him and cravings to our flesh and following the desires and thoughts. So indulging in the temptation to Get drunk when our friends bribe us to come out to the bar on a Friday night, or lust, you know, lustful looks, or cheating on a partner, having sex with multiple partners, um doing drugs, gossiping, letting anger get to you, um, and rule you, and letting that be like your main emotion, having an unforgiveful heart and holding grudges against people, right? Those are all examples of gratifying the flesh and allowing those fleshful desires and fleshful thoughts to have a hold on you, and that bird is being really loud, and I'm so sorry. And hopefully, you don't hear it. I'm gonna try to cut it out. If not, sorry. Um, like it I your friend really needs to find you, buddy. Okay, so, anyways, uh, number 10, we're almost done, we're getting there. Is a dragon in Revelation 12, 9. He says, The great dragon was hurled down, that ancient serpent called the devil Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth and his angels against him or with him. Sorry. Um, number 11, we're gonna keep moving it on. The roaring lion in 1 Peter 5, verse 8 says, Be alert and sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for somebody to devour. So, truthfully, I feel like this is the whole plot of the entire like message. But we see this all the time. The devil is looking for ways to devour us, he's looking for ways to tempt us, he's looking for ways to accuse us, he's looking for ways to scheme on us, he's looking for ways to lie to us, he's looking for ways to do anything he can to kill us, to murder, you know, the babies, to do anything to seek revenge on God, to kill God's creation, to keep us away from God and his salvation. And the last one is the disguiser of beautiful light. And 2 Corinthians chapter 11, verse 14 says, No wonder for Satan himself masquerades himself as an angel of light. So he wears a costume and pretends to be this beautiful, glorious light. He makes himself look good, he makes himself look pretty, he makes himself look enticing. And if you remember, in the very beginning of the message, we spoke about Satan back when he was in heaven and you know him as an angel, and that's who he was, and so now he he forever wants that. So he he sometimes will masquerade himself as this beautiful light, and so I I really encourage you to be mindful of that. Um, and so I just really want to remind you that if there's ever something that is making you feel anxious and full of fear, that it is not God, it is not the Lord, it is Satan. If you wake up and say you haven't gone to church in a couple weeks and you've fallen off of it and you um you wake up and you feel full of anxiety because you want to go to church and you don't know why you feel so anxious and you feel scared to go to the Lord, it is not the Lord, that is Satan doing everything he can to keep you from going to church. If there is anxiety because you feel so anxious to speak to somebody and the Lord has laid it on your heart to walk up at work and and pray over somebody, and all of a sudden you feel super anxious. Again, that is not the Lord that is Satan trying to keep you away from doing God's work. Okay, like I I don't know, I I can continue to try to think of examples, but if there's ever a time that you feel full of fear, please know that it is never gone. God will never do that. In Philippians, it talks about this unexplainable peace. That's what the Lord gives us. The Lord will give us peace in going to church, the Lord will give us peace and praying over that coworker, okay? So if there's ever anxiety, I really do encourage you to stop and pray because it is it's just not the Lord, it's the devil. So knowing now and opening our eyes to the devil and his ways, we literally just see all of these things that he does and and tries to do. And now that we really have this open mind and this open ears for him, it really allows us to see the spiritual fight much clearer now that we have at hand. And so we need to wear our full armor of Christ to be able to fight him and to be able to fight the spiritual war. I want to reference uh and also encourage you to go up and listen to episode 9, which is where I fully dive into the armor of Christ. Um, I'm not gonna get into it right now, but I really want you to go ahead and go listen because it really kind of goes hand in hand with this message here today. Um, and really talks about every single piece of the armor. It talks about the the bread, the plates, talks about the helmet, the shoes, the sword, the shield, all the things. Um, and what that all means and how important it is to make sure that we are fully suited up. So with that being said, I'm gonna read scripture. Luke chapter 11, verse 21 and 22. When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own home, his possessions are safe. But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up the spoils. So we need to be suited up at all times. We need to be ready. And if you're not, then I really encourage you to really go listen to that episode nine and kind of figure out maybe where it is in your life that you need to fix that area that maybe you're feeling like you know you're not feeling like you are where you should be to fight the battle. Or if you've been feeling lately that you've been definitely attacked by the devil lately, I definitely encouraging you to go in that word and look into um the pseudo farmer um and figure out what your defensive line or why your f offensive uh line is off. Excuse me, I'm just so excited for football. I just felt like the need to put that in there. Anyway. God gave us the authority through him and through God's blood to cut off the demonic powers in our lives. However, we need to believe the power of the Holy Spirit that lives in us and gives us the authority if we're going to have that authority. If we don't believe it, then if we speak and rebuke in the name of Jesus, it's going to do nothing. If the Lord wakes you up in the middle of the night and says, pray over your home, and you start praying over your home and you say, you know, I rebuke any demonic attack here in my house in the name of Jesus, and I vr you know cast all out all the demonic attacks in my house in the name of Jesus. If you don't believe that you have the power within you, if you don't believe that the Holy Spirit has given you the authority through him living in you, then it's not going to hold that power. You have to believe it. And so every time you spread your Jesus light, every time you plant your seeds, every time you're praying over or for somebody, and God shines his light onto them, it makes the darkness smaller in their lives, and little by little as they come to Christ and salvation. And when the evil leaves, God replaces it with life in Christ Jesus. And so every time you rebuke that devil, and every time we rebuke the evil and the evil stored up in that home or in that person, it will leave with them too. And so as I wrap up here, I ask you to not speak negatively because then your fruit will be bad and your armor will become weak and it will fall off in a result of you being vulnerable when the devil strikes his attack on your life. Whether it's the accuser, whether it's the schemer, whether it's the liar, whether it's the murderer, whether it's the um angel of light, whether it's the what else is there? I don't know. Right right where it is. Um, and it's not just about our lives. If we're not suited up, then it opens the door for the devil to strike on our family. If we do not have armor, and if we are not ready as women and of the household, if we are not ready to be suited up in armor, and we're not actively praying over our family and praying over our home and and looking at the spiritual battle at hand, and we are weak and and we are not ready, then the devil is not only going to attack you, he's going to attack your family, he's going to attack the people that live in your home. I can say that this happened to me right after the family members moved in. I was weak, I was full of anger. The devil had set me up to uh basically veil, and he had set me up to um forget God's glory. And so I was in a season where I was like, why am I so angry? Like, Lord, please help me. And uh because the devil had attacked me. And so not only was I weak in my spiritual battle for my own self, but I noticed my family members in my home. My mom was starting to, you know, go through it. And my husband was starting to go through it, and my daughter got sick, and so it all made sense because not only was it because of my weakness attacked me, but it started to come after my family. So as I wrap up in prayer, I want to pray over us today and encourage us to pray together. Father, I ask that you give us that you um fill us up with the authority and the belief to rebuke the demons out in the name of Jesus and to open your eyes on the swift ways of the Satan. And Father, I just pray over every single listener that wherever they are, that they are protected, and that you get them to wherever they're going, if they're driving safely. And um if they're at home, Father, I just protect them in their home, and if they're at work, I protect them at work, and I just intercede on their behalf, and I just rebuke any demonic attack in the name of Jesus, Father, that they will know that they um have you, and when they have you, that they can fear no evil. So, what can man do to them? Amen. All right, guys. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you guys um enjoyed this message, and I really hope that you guys um really had a takeaway from it.
