It's easy to represent something when everything is going your way. But what happens when you're disrespected, frustrated, hurt, embarrassed, or pushed into a situation where your flesh wants to respond differently? An ambassador doesn't get to represent themselves whenever they feel like it—they carry the name, character and authority of the one who sent them. And if we're calling ourselves followers of Christ, then whether we realize it or not... we're representing Him.
#TheRepresentation takes us into a real-life story involving a pastor, a motel, and a young woman who had every reason to respond in anger—but chose grace instead. Because sometimes the greatest representation of Christ isn't found behind a pulpit. It's found in the moment when you could retaliate, but choose mercy. When you could react, but choose self-control. When you could make somebody pay, but instead choose to reflect the One you say you follow.
Ministry isn't reserved for pastors, preachers or people standing behind a microphone. Every believer is carrying a representation. The question is: when people encounter you, what are they encountering?

What is going on, everybody? Welcome back to another episode of Heck versus Hell, where the truth we tell. Hello, and welcome to all you lovely listeners, my family, my friends, my kin, my kinfolk, right? Uh hope y'all are having a blessed one as always. Uh, rejoicing in the day the Lord has made being in that state of mind of endeavoring and letting yourself see and produce the fruits of the spirit, even if it's by your will, but not allowing the world to snuff out those fruits, you know, feel them, let them be produced, and share them with others. Because that's one of the main things that we are called to do. Okay, on that note, that's exactly what we're gonna talk about, is representatives of Christ, how we represent Christ, ambassadors of the kingdom of heaven, as Miles Monroe called it, and being the image that we share because it's the one that we bear for the kingdom, for God, and for his glory. Now I think and I believe that it's one of the most wonderful ways that God could have used his glory and received his glory is by giving us the position to be representatives of him. And what I mean by that is whenever you think of representatives, it is like the tip-top form, right? Whenever it comes to uh how somebody's gonna represent you before a courtroom, right? You're thinking of a defense attorney, you're thinking of a uh a certain attorney, you're thinking of people that are going to very, very professionally represent you as a person. How these are your desires, these are your wants, this is what you want to do, this is who you are. They are there to represent that person to the best of their ability. Same thing whenever it comes to businesses and brands, they go and they get representatives and they train them to a max so that they have a certain standard of what must be done and what is expected of them. So, in the same way, that is what's expected of us. We are called to be trained and share that likeness of God to the world. Now, the difference is that before you become a representative, you have to undergo a lot of training, right? Even whenever it comes to a customer service representative, right? They are representing the cut uh the company on the customer-facing side, they have to go through a lot of training, they have to understand the procedures, and they have to become one with the program and with the company in order to do so, and they do not really let them be out there until they know that they are ready and prepared to do so. With God, however, he knows that we are mess-ups, he knows that we cannot represent him in the way he should be represented, and he still chose us to do so, which I think is really, really beautiful, and it's such a blessing because a really wealthy businessman that runs multi-billion dollar companies will rarely, if ever, choose their child, especially if they're a toddler child or an adolescent, to represent them as the owner in front of the entire world, in front of a board meeting, in front of an investor meeting, right? Because it would look unprofessional, and God doesn't care. He's like, Hey, that's what you guys are here to do is represent me, show people who and what I am, and how we have that relationship and unity within him. The love, the expressions of love that we are called to express to our I'll say soon to be brother and sisters, right? People people children of the world, you know, that aren't in Christ, that aren't born again, that have not received the spirit and the seal of the Holy Spirit, the seal of life. Even them we're called to love, we're called to bring the gospel to, bring the great message of salvation to. So to be kin, right? To be kin, uh, are to be kins. Uh, that's what we're called to do, you know, and we're not the best representatives, even amongst each other. Like there was a story of a man that I heard, I can't remember what his name is, but he was a pastor. And so this pastor went and he went into a hotel. I think it was a motel, actually. He went into a motel, he went to the front desk, got a room, it was like the only room available. He went into that room and was getting ready, preparing himself to sit down and everything. He went into the bathroom, and the bathroom was just not working. It was not working whatsoever. You might have heard the story, you might have you might have heard this pastor actually say his story before. But he went and he told uh realized that it wasn't working. He realized that the water wasn't working, and I might be telling it wrong, okay? Just don't quote me on it. But he ended up going, calling the front desk, and he asked the young lady working there what was going on with the water, and she, you know, she blatantly told him, Well, we had two rooms that we had, and the gentleman that came in right before you, I didn't want to give him that room, so I moved him to a room with functioning water, and I put you in there. And I, you know, I knew it wasn't working, but that was kind of the only room we had. And this pastor went and started calling her certain names, and you know, just making her feel horrible for what she did. You know, just saying about how she's he's sorry, and his her mom is probably sorry for the day she was born. And that was that was something that was kind of crazy to me. You know, even I some people, I haven't even heard some people say that to, you know, other people, and it, you know, some things that people say to each other, it's crazy, crazy to me. And that, you know, that just might be me. Because I I cannot speak out of anger like that to something that I would not mean. But he said this to her, and she said, Don't you have anything to say for yourself? And she responded with saying that he act she admires him, and he goes to preach at her college every year. And you know, obviously he went and he's like, you know, tried backpedaling a little bit. He's like, you know, I was kidding, right? But you know, she told him uh how she felt about it, and I believe she started crying, uh, whatever it may have been. And after the situation, he went out there to the front desk, got on his hands and knees, and was begging her for forgiveness. And so, you know, it was just a bad turn of events, you know, who knows what kind of day he was having, and even then, you know, I'm not making an excuse for his actions. You know, everybody does have bad days, but that should not take control over how we react and how we respond to other people and take it out on somebody, right? So we can learn from we can learn from this pastor, and you know, time goes by, he ends up going, and I believe he goes back to the college, or he goes to a certain church, he's invited to a certain church to preach, and at that church, it's local to that to that young lady. And the pastor says, Hey, you actually, you know, my this young lady knows you. She said she met you one time at a motel, and you know, he played dumb. He's like, Oh, really? What motel was it? What what young lady was it? He knew exactly what it was, but he played a little dumb. And he ended up going, and the pastor told him that he was there, and she loved to meet him, and how good of a guy he was. And the pastor's conviction had to tell the other pastor what actually happened, what actually transpired. And the pastor ended up telling him the story behind her about how she actually had no parents, she was found in a foreign country, abandoned and alone, and she was adopted, so she has absolutely no idea who her parents are. So whenever he told her, I bet your mom is sorry for the day she had you, it must have really cut her. You know, it must have really hurt what she had going on and how she felt about it. And even through all of that, she showed incredible dignity. She did not tell that pastor the story, she decided to choose love and mercy and grace. Because let's be honest, he did not deserve that dignity that she gave him. That's grace. And she allowed, as it says in the word, love to blot out all sin. And he sinned against her with his mouth, with speaking almost curses, and with in a way condemning her. And she still chose grace. She represented Christ in a wonderful manner, and she is still so happy, so smiling, so forgiving, so loving. And him in that moment of weakness, he did not represent the right way. And God knew that. God knew that before he appointed that pastor. God knows you before he appointed you to do your mission, your your ministry, right? And and ministry doesn't mean you have to open a giant church, it just means you have to go out there and speak to people about God, speak to people about the the gospel. We all have our own ministry, we all have our own stewardship. That is what we are called to be as disciples and as followers and as kin of Christ, is to expand the kingdom of heaven, is to be ambassadors of the kingdom of heaven. He knows that you are going to mess up, but stop trying to hide that and say you were not ready to represent him. Because there's some people that just start out, and you might have been that way too, personally with me, and I've heard a lot of people do it too. Where you go and you you come into God and you're so on fire for God, and then that fire just kind of dwindles, it kind of dwindles away. So it comes from something that you found out, it comes from a certain belief that you started believing, a certain teaching that you learned and that you thought was true. But there is a perspective that it came from, even if it was your own experiences, of believing that you were not ready to spread the word of God, you are not entirely made to represent God, but each of us in our very own way are meant to represent God. We are called to represent God, and He has put us as the bearing image, image bearers, actually, of Him. Glory be to God for how wonderful and gracious He is. So in a world where it's very easy, it's very almost pleasurable to choose and decide to be and give into our emotions and wrath and allow ourselves to become a part of the world in that aspect and that mannerism of choosing wrath, of choosing the quote unquote easy way. Let us do the difficult thing because it would be a lot more difficult if we each had to literally be crucified, and Christ did not take that punishment for us. Let's represent Christ and represent God the way we are supposed to, and the way Paul calls us to. I love you all. I hope you have a blessed one, and as always, we will catch you on the flip side.
