Anthony and John discussed the new Mario Galaxy movie, and their first place losers a.k.a. second place winners of different genre franchises! In the words of our favorite plumber, let’s a go!
What's going on, guys? I am the Black Sheep, Anthony C. And I am the big John V from South Carolina all the way to Cali. This is One Take, Real Talk on the movie, the Games, and the everything pop culture. And you know what's crazy? This episode is literally movies, games, and everything pop culture because we're going to talk about Mario Galaxy and we're going to touch on a little bit of our favorite second place winners. You know what I'm saying? When it comes to movie franchises today. Yeah, favorite first place losers, baby. That's right. So, guys, if it sounds a little weird, it's because I don't have my traditional microphone. So bear with us for this one episode. I do apologize in advance. But we're going to jump right into this Mario Galaxy review. I don't know what John thinks about it. John has no idea what I think about it. This is one of the ones where John just saw it today. I saw it this past Saturday. So, John, what do you think?
unknownJohn?
SPEAKER_02I'm not going to lie to you guys. I was like, it was wondering. Damn. I'm sorry, guys. I was really disappointed in this movie. I'm not gonna lie to you.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, you sound like every other damn critic.
SPEAKER_02It was fine. It was just movie.
SPEAKER_01The movie was good, man.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna let you go first, you know.
SPEAKER_01No, go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. You say what you gotta say, you pretentious ass.
SPEAKER_02Man, just for a movie that is supposed to be, you know, a follow-up to the first Mario movie, which is while not a perfect video game adaptation, a pretty, a pretty solid for the most part video game adaptation, all in all, right? And it kind of blew my mind when I was like, I don't know. It was kinda ass. It was so gorgeous, it was beautiful to look at. It was just it felt like there was no time to get anything done. But I I'll I'll let it go to you and then I'll elaborate more and more.
SPEAKER_01I had a good time with the movie. I don't know what the hell John's smoking.
SPEAKER_02So I went into this with the mindset, hey, this is a kid's movie. As a parent, I knew what to expect from children's movies. So I don't, John went in and expecting a godfather. I went and expecting Mario Galaxy, I guess. I don't know. But the movie was good, it was it was well paced. I think there's not really too many dry moments in this movie. The comedy hit. I only had one complaint that we didn't get another Jack Black song, which we really would have. And this movie is just you can't pick it. This movie is basically about loving family. That's what it's about. That's the whole thing. It's about loving your family, whether it's long-lost family. Basically, it's a bunch of long-lost families going on around here. I I like the movie. I don't know what you meant. The movie is not ass. Is it better than the first one? No, I don't think it's better than the first one, but I think it's it's it's a it's a good movie. I don't think it's I think every fucking critic that went in here ripping this movie apart, I don't know what the hell I don't know what the hell their issue is with it. So I'm gonna say what I always say, which is I understand when you're going in to a kid's like you said, it is that you are going into a kid's movie, right? But just because you're a kid's movie doesn't mean you're bad, and doesn't mean you get to be less thawed out or less well put together. What about this movie was not well put together? That's what I'm trying to realize. Like I've been through some kids' movies where it's like, oh brother, come on. You know what I'm saying? Like it this didn't give me that. I think the the it looked gorgeous, one, it it's well paced. I'm I'm trying to figure out what was the problem for you, not me. You know, that's what I'm trying to figure out. What was asked about it? So when it came down to it, just one for starters, the pacing is garbage in there. The pacing is not garbage, it's an hour and a half movie that does like it flies by. What do you mean? There's the floppy, it flies by. That's a good thing, John. Yeah, but you still need time to let things breathe. This movie is throwing a hundred and twenty different things at you.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00I think that's only you, brother.
SPEAKER_02It's throwing all these these things at you, but it's not like nothing's getting fleshed out, nothing's getting set up, nothing's getting well paid off. And anything that is set up is a two-second flashback, and then it's back to the movie, right? It's it's back to okay, we gotta keep things going, and that's okay in some scenarios, but other times I'm like, man, maybe this movie needed a little one piece.
SPEAKER_01I mean, like I said, I didn't have a problem with the pace in the movie.
SPEAKER_02I think it got across what it needed to get across to set up, what it needed to set up. You got the Yoshi payoff from the first movie. I love the montage that Yoshi gets in this movie. Yeah, I thought it was fucking hilarious. Also not caught up, and I was not ready for that song. I don't want to spoil it for anybody else. Yeah, but I think it was perfect. I think it was perfect. I think what they did with Rosalina in here was good. I thought the whole little setup with her and the Loomis was great. I mean, see, John, this is how you talk about a movie without spoiling the movie. You get what I'm saying? I think the uh the cameos in this movie is great. I think the whole Princess Peach being the first one to take the lead in the in the search. I thought that was great instead of being Mario to the rescue. You know what I'm saying? I mean, I I mean, I don't I don't what like you can give me code names, brother. Like what what got set up and didn't get paid off? That's what I'm trying to figure out. Okay. So for example, right?
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna use I'm gonna use some code names here. Okay, I hope so. There's a set of characters that get revealed that have a tie, we you know, not expecting. The only thing that got said was there was a story about one of these characters, yes, and we see a 1.5 second flashback. It wasn't a 1.5 second flashback, it was literally that person front. No, no, no, is the character is first talking about oh, I uh I don't remember. Yeah, but they'll see you see it for two seconds, okay. But that's that's literally what they remember. But then when that character finds the story, John, they find the story, and you get the whole story. Okay, so what are you talking about? But the payoff doesn't feel good because it's that it's that. I see those things. Okay, if somebody don't remember their okay, okay. What do you mean nothing else happens? That person finds out who they are, where they're from, and goes help that person that had to make that decision to let them go. And then they reunite. How does it pay off? Because there's not enough time spent with it, man. What are you talking, John? How much time would you want to spend with? If they spent too much time, you would be here griping that they spent too much time.
unknownBut you need a little time, man.
SPEAKER_02What are you talking about? What would you what would you want is answer the question. What would you want from it?
SPEAKER_00Give me give me five minutes.
SPEAKER_02Of what? Of what? Of what? Of establishing and foreshadowing this twist that you're putting in. There's no twist. Let's go the extra mile. Let's go the extra mile. Oh my god. You were you were you were asking me things in this movie I can't stand, things in this movie not being paced well. So obviously this is a Super Mario Galaxy movie, right? So we've skipped about two decades of Mario between this one and the other one, and that's okay, right? I'm okay if you guys want to Frankenstein some movies together and some games together so we can get different parts. Because it's got some Mario Odyssey, this has some Mario Galaxy, this also has like some Super Mario Sunshine, Anthony's favorite Mario game. And it's okay, fine, alright. Like I can rock with that.
SPEAKER_01Mario Sunshine is not my favorite game, but okay.
SPEAKER_02Or what's your favorite Mario game?
SPEAKER_01My favorite Mario game probably Super Mario Bros on the original Super Nintendo.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so you know, we're we're ingratiating some games together, and it's okay, right? I'm not I'm not mad at that. But why are we doing it in such like such a ridiculous pace? Because let's be real, Galaxy should not have been this movie. This should not have been Galaxy. And if we're being completely honest about it, the other thing, too, is so Rosalina's in this movie. Look, guys, Rosalina's in this movie for like maybe five minutes. Because but explain why, John. What happens to Rosalina, John? So she gets captured. Okay then, okay, then what the fuck are you talking about? Okay, it doesn't mean that you but she get bro. What they need her for a specific thing, John. I'm sorry if it doesn't fit your A24 fucking narration style. It's a fucking illumination movie. Look, I'm not saying that it's gotta be pitch perfect. That's not what I'm saying. That's not but you're griping over a princess who got captured, had two to three strong scenes.
unknownShe has one.
SPEAKER_02No, she doesn't. She has she has she has two killer fucking scenes. She has the one outside of the house, and then she has the one where she get the one where she helps someone escape, John. So she has two scenes. Exactly. And then you got the damn, then you got one of those scenes is an add-on to the scene we're talking about.
SPEAKER_01I don't know what you're talking about because not that one.
SPEAKER_02I'm talking about the scene. I'm talking about the scene where she's captured and she helps someone escape. That's what I said. She has like three to three scenes here, bro. She really got four if you count on the ending. You're you're I'm telling you, it's your ADD, man. I'm telling you. Oh my god, boy. Listen, man. This movie, let's go tell you, bro. I had no problem keeping up with this movie. I thought this movie was fun. I saw this movie with all four of my kids. They loved it. I loved it. I did I think it was better than the original. No. I think I think the original one is a little bit better. But I also think this movie, it build off the back of the first one. It built off the back of the first one. Like it built off, built off of what was already established. It didn't need to be two fucking hours long. It doesn't have to be two hours to be good. I'm not going to disagree with you there. Okay. But I'm saying the movie is good. It doesn't fucking, it is not a bad movie. I'm telling you, like, I don't know what to do, I don't know what what more you want from this. Like, I like the I think you get enough time with each character to understand their motives and what they're going through and what is happening in here. All right, guys. So here's the here's the overall synopsis, right? Bowser Jr. kidnaps Rosalini for to free his father and do something with his father. That's what you see in the trailer. Bowser Jr. trying to get Bowser. And then, like, that's the whole premise of the movie, right? Correct? Okay. I'm not gonna lie. We we may have to start spoiling this. I'm not spoiling it. I'm just telling you the premise of the movie. Like, you see it in the trailer. Bowser Jr. goes and tries to free his father. In the process of freeing his father, he kidnaps Rosalina. Okay. Alright. That's the premise of this movie. Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi, and their whole fucking entourage tries to free Rosalina. Okay? That's the whole voyage. What more John wants from this movie, I do not fucking know. Like, it's a simple premise. Like, the fact that it's called Galaxy, like, granted, I haven't really touched on Mario Galaxy. I've seen, I've seen a couple, like, my son played it. You know what I'm saying? I'm not a big Mario, you know what I'm saying, game fan like that. But so a lot of you damn Mario dieharts might be upset with it. I'm not, I'm not too attached to Mario not to get upset. Like for real. I think I take the movie for what it is. They're not gonna go beat for beat with the fucking game. They didn't do that with the original game. They took some liberties. And I don't expect it to be beat for beat. It shouldn't be beat for beat. That's what I'm saying. So, like, like I think we got an adequate amount of time with each character to show where they were in the first movie, where they are now. They introduce new characters, they give the new characters enough time for you to care about the characters, understand their motives, and you know what I'm saying. What is projecting this movie forward? Like, you gotta like, bro. I don't understand like what more you would want from it. Like five minutes to understand why somebody had to let somebody go and to reunite. Why? Brother, give me some investment. Like, I'm not invested in the plot line. Everything's happened again at 200 million octanes per second. Not really. But even the ending, even the ending of this movie is like, oh, that's it, it's over. I mean, like, I enjoyed it. Like I said, the movie wasn't made for me or you, it was made to keep kids entertained. And if you never if you know anything about kids these days, their attention spans are fucking short. I think the movie is well paced for a kid's movie. I don't think I think you get enough time with each character, but each main character to understand their motivations. That that's the main thing. Okay, but like, okay, let's let's go like to your point. You're like, okay, this is a kid's movie, right? And look, I am not gonna sit here and tell you that I need the godfather or Shawshank Redemption to be a kid's movie. But you can still be a kid's movie, be well paced, and it's well paced. The movie is well paced. The movie is well paced. Like, dude, I don't know what you're talking about. We sit here and talk about speed doesn't mean that it's it's not fucking lightning speed. The movie is an hour and 40 minutes long, it's not fucking lightning speed. What about this movie? Gives you that concept that it's lightning speed. Brother, anything that gets introduced just kind of happens. It's like, okay, here's the here's the idea. Okay, here it is. It happens. Also, why did Fox McLeod get revealed before the movie came out? I don't know, man. That's something you gotta talk about people spoiling shit.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_02It wasn't, it was it wasn't even a trailer. So what are you talking about? What do you mean? It was them. It was it was Illumination. Illumination did that. Oh, well, fuck it. They they decided to leak it. Whatever. You're still they knew people were still gonna go see it.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_02Now I will say when Fox popped up, I was like, oh, this is the best part of the movie. Because I thought he was only gonna be there for like a little bit. But slightly. What got introduced it got glazed over. I'm trying to figure out where you're coming from here. Brother, I'm telling if you want to go with a spoilers, I can explain it. No, you can explain it with just code. Like you could just tell me this happened. You know what I'm saying? Now it's over. Like, what do you I just explained it to you? What? We get we get one singular two-second shot. I'm supposed to care when there's another random character that speaks to this two-second backstory. It was literally, bro, when a person don't remember anything, John, you can't give more information that they don't know.
unknownI get that.
SPEAKER_02Okay, then. So if they don't remember, they they clearly say, oh, it's not my birthday. It's just when they found me. So if they don't remember, they don't know how the fuck you're gonna get more information out of it. You have to wait until they get the information theirself. You just and then if they did that, you'd be like, oh, well, that didn't make sense. How the hell do they remember that and they don't remember? I would have took that. You could have also just dude, dude. They paid it, they paid it off. You literally got the explanation when they found out. So what listening? You you learned when they learned. That's what I'm saying. I don't get I don't get the problem. I don't get the problem. Here's how you fix this. You make the opening scene, narration, okay. You don't have to reveal who they are, just give like a storybook version. That's stupid. That's stupid. But what well, because listen reading them story books. Okay. And the story and the and she was trying to read them a story, John. She literally was trying to read them a story. But what happened, John? What happened? They kept interrupting. Okay. They kept because like kids do, they interrupt, right? Okay. They didn't want to hear the story about Princess Peach. They wanted to hear the story about the plumbers. All right. Well, I'm just saying, uh, hey, look, I'm not spoiling anything. I'm just saying, she we're just talking. But I'm just saying, look, John, you're you're bringing attention to it. Let me go where I'm going. All right. Then, after getting interrupted, you know what I'm saying? Obviously, you know what I'm saying, you know a lot about that. Damn, next thing you know, somebody pops up and causes chaos. It doesn't make sense, it doesn't make sense to reveal you, you gripe so much about spoon feeding. You gripe so much about spoon feeding that in a kid's movie that doesn't spoon feed you, you're griping that it didn't spoon feed you. Brother, it doesn't spoon feed anything. It doesn't have to. Bro, it's not two, it's not two seconds. You get a flashback from what they remember, then you get it revealed when they find the story. And that's not two seconds. But it's two seconds. All right, look, look, we're getting caught up on this. Let's talk about the rest of the movie. I'm just saying, like, I mean, like, it's not two fucking seconds, though. You literally get a fuck, you get the whole fucking kit and caboodle when they find the story. Did you walk? Did you go to the bathroom or something?
unknownNo, I watch it. I watched the whole thing.
SPEAKER_02Okay, that's what I'm saying. Like, what are you talking about? Like, you're saying you're saying two seconds, but like, that's just what they're sitting on. But just because you get it there at the end, okay? It's not the end, it's literally the middle of the fucking movie. You get the reveal, right? You're you're right. And like in the middle of the movie, but here's the thing, dude. Here's the thing. You give me the reveal, and when the moment happens, like I should care, right? Like I should, I didn't give a fuck. I was like, oh well, I mean, like, that was kind of fucking stupid. I mean, I said, guys, this is what happened when you watch too much A24. But then, like, let's go down the list. Like, let's go down the list. Because there is some other stuff about this movie I would like to talk about. What's that? Okay. Video game references, like whether it be like, you know, Star Fox or a handful of other games they they reference in this movie. That was endearing. I enjoyed that stuff.
SPEAKER_01But uh, you went out. Repeat it.
SPEAKER_02So that was like sweet. That was endearing. I I enjoyed that stuff. Okay. And I also think there are some game references they did really well. And I was like, oh man, like I didn't expect them to pull from this game or this game. Well, still trying to be vague here. But like, is that like is is fan service and as reference to the games. This movie's great. But that's really all it is. There's no substance outside of that. And that's that's the biggest issue. That's your that's your take. That's your take. My take is totally different. I think the fan service is great. I think this movie is not a I think they did a great job getting from point A to point B. Each character felt like, you know what I'm saying? I feel like each character had their motives, you know what I'm saying? And I feel like you can understand no matter which point of view you were looking at, you got why that person or that character was doing what they were doing. There's a lot of substance here. You just you were digging a little too deep. But that's what happens when a pretentious person goes into a kid's movie. I've seen good kids' movies, man. You don't have to be okay. Hear me out. Name me something. I was in name me a kid's movie, right? Recent kids' movie that isn't GOAT. You know what I'm saying? Like, I like Hopper. Do I think this is better than Hopper? No, I don't. But I can enjoy Hopper and I can enjoy this. I don't need this to be Hopper. You know what I'm saying? Like, I so the substance here is it's a Mario game. It's a Mario movie. Like, I I cared what happened to all the characters in this movie. My kids did. I enjoyed it. I love the reveals at the end. I love the reveals. I love the damn after-credit scenes. Like, I thought it was, I thought they did a good job. There are two two after-credits. I agree more. I agree more with the fans here. I agree more with the fans, and obviously John agrees it more with the critics.
SPEAKER_01You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02So yeah. Maybe it's what Anthony said. Maybe I'm just overly pretentious, but I just I wasn't impressed with this movie.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna tell you like this. I had a great time with it.
SPEAKER_02Listen, this movie got my four-year-old all the way to my 11-year-old. All the way to my 30-something plus ass entertain. So maybe it's just a Gen Z thing. So I'm just saying, I don't know, man. You know, I really enjoyed it. I love the message about family. He said there's no substance here, but the message is about family, and this isn't a fast and furious movie. They don't have to scream family every five minutes. I love the message about family and you know, trying to understand who you really are. Because that's that's that's the substance here. That's literally the plot line. Like, it's literally about family, being there for family, and it's literally about understanding who you really are, because two characters have to have to make a decision to figure out who they really are. 100%. And I respect that. Okay, but you just said there was no substance. Dude, it's so surface, like it's so surface level. How? When you got a character from the first movie that damn near does a whole 180. Yeah, man, he doesn't really do a 180. He's jokes without doing out of 180. Okay, but what I'm saying is but the only reason they didn't have him do the 180 is because who he is. Yeah, of course. And I mean, and then and then and then okay, but what I'm saying is the reason that being, you know how much backlash that would have got. But the fact that they were fighting internal demons to want to. You get what I'm saying? To want to. That's the whole thing, you know. But like okay, sure. But then I, you know, I'm going through the whole thing, and I'm just like, everything is so fast, like so fast, so surface level that I'm like, man.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I didn't get that.
SPEAKER_02I think I think it was I think damn. I think they did really good, man. I really did. I think them we got enough time to set up the situations. We got enough time to assess the situation, and enough time to figure out, hey, we need to get from point A to point B. I love the addition of Yoshi. Yoshi was just fucking adorable from get I don't know what was more adorable. Yoshi or the Loomis this time. You know what I'm saying? Like, I don't know which one was more adorable. And then them you got Princess Peach being a fucking badass, and she was in the first movie. You know what I'm saying? Like, but you get to see more of that here. And then like you got a lot of power-ups that are shown here, a lot of world building that is done here. Like, I don't get what you see with the surface level stuff. Maybe you think you dig it just a little too deep. Real quick, since we're on it, I still don't like Chris Pratt as Mario. I'm sorry. Doesn't bother me none. So I mean, you sound like them people griping over Mark's friend's voice being changed. It doesn't bother me. I thought it would, but it doesn't bother me. I I'd rather him sound like that than sound like a stereotypical damn Italian person. So I'd almost just preferred if he did just do Chris Pratt, though, because like he does like half Italian. I mean, yeah, but it's I think he does a good job of blending his voice with a a Brooklynite, you know what I'm saying? I think he does uh it's not too Brooklyn-y where you're like, oh my god, this guy, nobody in New York sounds like that. You feel what I'm saying? I think he didn't think it's egregious. Like the people that are like, it's awful, I don't think it's that bad, but I'm still a lot in love with this. Yeah. But like I said, I had fun with this movie, dude. John probably gives it like a four, maybe a three. Am I wrong? I was gonna give it story is a four, animation is a a ten, so I'll be generous. I'll go a flat five. Okay, he's giving it a five. I give it a solid seven and a half, dude. I think this is a fun movie. You got kids, they're gonna love it. As a parent who knows bad fuck fucking cartoon movies, this isn't one of them. Like for real. I I agree with the fans. I do I think it's a 10, 9? No, I don't. Do I think it has some kinks to work out? Yeah, I do. But I mean, as a sequel, it didn't disappoint. I lived in the 90s, okay? I know what a bad Mario movie is. No, man. That that movie's better than this movie.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you you you just talking out your ass now.
SPEAKER_02But look, guys, final thoughts before we move into it. I think this movie is rushed, blind fan service, and doesn't truly have enough texture to captivate me for what was a solid video game movie, an adaptation before in the first movie. This is just to show that Sonic truly does have the best video game movies.
SPEAKER_01I was just about to tell everybody you're over there sucking Sonic Weebie. So but anyway, I think I don't think so.
SPEAKER_02I think this is a good movie. It isn't it to me, it isn't rushed. I don't know what the hell. John thinks everything is rushed that isn't a three-hour movie. So also, also, I did like the music. I thought the music was fantastic. I think it's great. I think the the the character additions here are great. I think that the world building is great. It's fucking gorgeous. Like it's a 12 out of 10 fucking movie that for looks and it's honestly, brother. The the visuals is like Yeah. Like, dude, it's very gorgeous movie. There's no Sonic movie that looks this good. And I'm a Sonic fan. I'm not a Sonic glazer like some people, but I'm a Sonic fan. There's no Sonic movie that looks this good. This is how you do a fucking video game movie franchise without having to incorporate real people. Now, look, we're being fair, as far as video game movies go, this is not that bad. This is like a perfect C tier, maybe a B because the visuals. I mean, I definitely do. Like I think how good I personally think this is a B plus. I think they not I I'm not gonna sit here and say they knocked it out of the park. Would I prefer this movie being two hours? Yes, I would prefer it being two hours, but I don't think it was rushed. I don't get I didn't get the sense of rush that John did, but I don't, I mean, like I said, that's just me. You know, I don't I don't think that this movie is I didn't feel rushed in this movie. I think we spent adequate time with this movie. It ain't worse than the FNAF movie. I don't think nothing is. But guys, John gives it a five, I give it a seven and a half. Go see the movie. When you do, if you have saw the movie, leave it down in the comments. Let us know what you think of this movie. Like for real. We really want to know. But we're gonna get into a little game that me and John drew up, and we're gonna call it Ace, first place loser. How about that, John? You said you coined the term. So we're gonna give we're gonna go through different genres. We're gonna draft together five movies, our top five, and different genres, but it can't be what people collectively think the best movie is. So, like, can I just give an example real quick? Like you said, it's only sequels. So, like if we pick it up, no, it it it no, it can't, it don't it don't have to be sequels. It just doesn't we're saying it had to be sequels. Yeah, yeah, I know. Uh but I'm saying let me clarify. It just has to be the next best movie. Like, we can't we can't sit here and say, hey, if we were doing gangster movies, we can't sit here and say Godfather 2. You get what I'm saying? Exactly. I was gonna say that, or like it can't be, you know, if we were talking Terminator, like it can't be T.
SPEAKER_01It can't be Terminator 2.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Yeah, yeah, it can't be T2. So, John, what's the first genre we're jumping into? Well, you know what, man? Let's let's start with an easy one. Let's start with our collective favorite horror. Okay. Uh what do you think it would be? We got top five horror movies and that aren't the best in the franchise. That aren't the number one pig. What are we going with number five? Well, what would you like to nominate for number five? You know, man. I'm looking at some of these horror movies I have in front of me and I'm having a bit of a hard time here. You want to start with your number five? I got one, and you're gonna be like, what the fuck? I'm going Rob Zombies Halloween. Who hurt you, man? I I enjoy this movie, dude. I oh, because I think people would argue that H2O or the original Halloween is the best one. Okay, okay. I want to make sure. So we remakes our fair game. Okay. Yeah, yeah, remakes are fair game. I mean, but like I think, I think them, because nobody considers this the best, but I think I really like this movie. I like the sequel. I just don't like the whole white horse thing. You know what? If we're gonna go the Halloween route, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with my gut, and I'm gonna say the best first place loser is Halloween four. Season of the Witch? Is that Season of the Witch? What you want? Curse Michael Myers? That's three. Season of Witch is three. Is Curse Michael Myers? Uh yeah, Curse Michael Myers. With Paul Rudd? Ain't that one with Paul Rudd? Oh, no, no, you're thinking of the other one. I'm thinking of like it's about the niece, and his niece ends up becoming a kill. I think I know we're not gonna agree here, but I think the Rob Zombie one is better than that. That's ludicrous to me. I'm being real. I really think the Rob Zombie one is better than that. Like, I know a lot of people is like the first like 30 minutes of that movie is like nearly unwatchable. Oh shit. Like, it's so boring, man. And it's it not isn't just boring, but it's like it's not even fun. I like the movie. I'm sorry. I like the new fresh take on it. And me not being like the Halloween not being like my favorite franchise. I think that's why. I mean, I also think that franchise is really overrated. That's a conversation people aren't ready to have. But he's the man for fucking Halloween. Oh, but like Curse of Michael Myers or Return of Michael Myers. I'm sorry. That's the name of this movie. Blank. Well, I'll tell you what. Let's go Halloween 2. Well, is it wouldn't that be the next best after? I mean, people you would ask people who what is the best Halloween movie. Halloween 2 doesn't pay H2O or the first one, or either like Halloween, the remaster from well, yeah. I know a lot of people really like 2018. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like, so people like that's what I'm saying. We can't say those three. And I I think two is dope answer. Okay, I'm cool with that. I can work with Halloween. I'll go I'll go with Halloween 2 for the next answer. Like, I think I think it's better than the Rob Zombie ones. I think it's better than curse or return. Yeah, I think the only thing that hurts this movie is is and it's not a fault of its own, Halloween Halloween three.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, season of the witch.
SPEAKER_02Because like, yeah, yeah, because that movie was trying to do something different, yeah, and this movie did the same, but that would that would be it, other than that. Yeah. We do Halloween to it. I mean, let's just do Halloween to it number five. I think that's a pretty dope one. Okay, okay. I'm cool with that. So we go with number four. Where do you think we should be at number four? I don't know how familiar with this franchise you are. And if you don't know it that well, I'll take it off. What is uh I'm thinking Tremors 2, man. Tremors 2. I like but Trimors, I think people would think Tremors 2 would be the best, right? I feel like it's that one or the first one.
SPEAKER_01That's why I was like, I don't know if so you want to go monster movie, right?
SPEAKER_02I'm I'm feeling I feel like we gotta put a monster flick on here. Okay. If you don't want to do that, I do I do have an alternate, but I'll I'll let you say yours first.
SPEAKER_01What be a do you want my alternate? What's your alternate?
SPEAKER_02The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. Which one? From 03? 2003. 2003. That's hey, you know I'm always co-signing up. That's my shit. Because I feel like they're gonna say that, or you're gonna say the first one, or you're gonna say two. I feel like it's one of those two.
SPEAKER_01I really I prefer these over the original.
SPEAKER_02So do you think this is because I feel like this is one I do hear a lot at the like the higher end of people's list. So are we being trying to be fair to our rules? Yeah, I think O3 or the beginning.
SPEAKER_01I think I I like the beginning. I mean, but I'll go O3. I think O3 is a little bit better.
SPEAKER_02Okay, alright. Because I feel like most people would say the first movie is the best movie.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think so too. But yeah, I think this is a good retelling, a good remaster. Damn, it's gonna be a list of remasters. We know what remasters not making it though.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we know which one is not making it. That's all I was saying. Wait, so like just to make sure, you think this this wouldn't be the second most popular movie? I don't know. I think it would be like one or two. I think this will play like it's one, two, or this one. Yeah, I think it's one or two, yeah. I think it'd be one or two. People would go one or two first. But I I'm definitely I know for a fact it's not number one. It'd be my number one, but it wouldn't be everybody's number one. You know what I'm saying? I think this this is my number two, so yeah. I mean, this is my number one, so uh yeah. Okay, so we could agree this at number four? Yeah, that'd be number four. Let's go with I'm trying to think, horror franchise with I don't know how familiar you are with the leprechaun. I am familiar with that series more than I am happy to admit.
SPEAKER_01Let's go with and I know I know you're gonna be like, what? I know what you did last summer. I still know what you did last summer.
SPEAKER_02I mean, we were we were barking up the same tree here, so I went the other iconic 90s.
SPEAKER_01Wait, you gonna you gonna scream?
SPEAKER_02I'm going screen too, because I feel like five is the most five or six is the most popular picture for the second best movie.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay, everybody's gonna say number one is the best.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, I mean it is the best.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, everybody's gonna say number one.
SPEAKER_02As we we tend to say at times, there is a right answer here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, everybody's gonna say number one is the best.
SPEAKER_02We can't say my favorite nightmare movie.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And while breaking that chance.
SPEAKER_01I'm I'm cool with it.
SPEAKER_02I'll put scream to at number number two. Alright, alright. I'll slide it to so we got number that was number three. So number two. Anthony, you can go ahead and say it. I know I know what you want to say.
SPEAKER_01What do you think I want to say?
SPEAKER_02Your baby, man.
SPEAKER_01I think Jason X.
SPEAKER_02What?
SPEAKER_01I'm saying Jason X.
SPEAKER_02Who who kidnapped you? Jason X. What kind of clone of Anthony? I'll go with Jason X, bro. So you're a clone of Anthony. All right, guys. I'll go with Jason X and number. I'll go with Jason X number two. I don't think it's better than Scream, but I think Jason X is a fun time. Oh.
SPEAKER_01You don't like Jason X at all?
SPEAKER_02No, no, I love Jason X. It was just Yeah. You know, I was thinking you were gonna go bride a Chucky. No, no, bride Chucky's because I that's uh that'd be I'm telling you, I'm saving Chucky for number one spot. I'm arguing Chucky for number one spot. Okay, so can I tell you who I have at number one?
SPEAKER_01Oh you got at number one.
SPEAKER_02Evil Dead 2013. But see, most people consider that the best though. It would be that or because it's gate it's literally that one, Evil Dead 2, and then the first one. Yeah, I mean, I think Evil Dead Rise? I'll put Evil Dead Rise as a number two. Okay, we can so you want to do that number two, then what should Okay, I'm cool with that. Yeah. I'm gonna say Chucky number.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna tell you like this.
SPEAKER_02And then we can say the Chucky number one.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna say Child's play three of them.
SPEAKER_02See, I like Brida Chucky more, maybe. I I know, but but see, but see, Brida Chucky would be considered in the contention for the best of the franchise. Introduces Tiffany, you know what I'm saying? All this. I think three is the last Chucky horror movie. Or we could do, and I and I know you're gonna be like, what? I think Curse of Chucky. Curse of Chucky or or Child's Play 3. I like Cult of Chucky more. But Curse of Chucky is a horror movie, like it's more horror movie. Cult of Chucky go leans more into that comedy. You get what I'm saying? Can we put Curse at two and rise at one?
SPEAKER_01I'm I'm cool with that. We do Curse of Chucky at number two and then Rise of One.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so for a quick little synopsis of our best first place losers and horror movies, number five was Halloween two. Number four, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the remake. Oh three. Oh three. Yeah, oh three remake. Number three, Scream Two. Number two, Curse of Chucky. And number one, Evil Dead Rise. You got any honorable mentions you want to throw out there? Are we gonna move on to our next genre?
SPEAKER_01Uh no, no. We're good. We're good. Let's move on to the next genre. I feel like we hung up a little bit on this one.
SPEAKER_02Alright. You well, let's start with you want to do superhero movies?
SPEAKER_01Let's do action movies. I feel like action movies go a little quicker.
SPEAKER_02Alright, let's let's go action movies. Alright, you can you can start this one. Action sequels. Damn, man.
SPEAKER_01Uh I'm gonna go with with the Matrix Reloaded at number five.
SPEAKER_02The Matrix reloaded. Yeah. I'm gonna get a little neoteric on you, okay? Because we all know we all know one is considered the best. Point break. Point break is only one movie. Well, point break has two movies. You know, it's it's part of the fast and the furious, right? No, it's not. No, it's not. All right. Well, I tried, yes. I tried. Everybody knows. I'm gonna say fast and the furious number number five or number four.
SPEAKER_01I'll do Tokyo Drift. I would do Tokyo Drift.
SPEAKER_02I'll compromise with Tokyo Drift.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I do Tokyo Drift, honestly. But the fact that we're putting damn Tokyo Drift over the Matrix is crazy to me.
SPEAKER_02I'm going to tell you. You know what, guys? I'm going to be fair. I need to rewatch the second one. Captain Slay, I didn't love the second.
SPEAKER_01But Matrix Reloaded?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I got you. But yeah, we'll put Tokyo Drift there.
SPEAKER_02Tokyo Drift to me is the last. I'm going to tell you why. It's the last Matrix movie that's about racing. Oh, it is. And full ending the last Fast and Fears movie about cars. Yeah. And that's what I love about that movie. Like, it's everything the first one was without cops. You know what I'm saying? It had crime. It had crime and not, it wasn't point break, you know what I'm saying? So all right. So then uh number four.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna throw out.
SPEAKER_02Let's go. Well, now Skyfall's probably pretty high. Yeah. It'd be between. Are you talking about James Bond? It it'd be between Skyfall or Casino Royale. I gotta get the fuck over, man. Because those are both like, and no time to die is held pretty hard. Yeah, but I would go if but it all right, so Google what is since the best James James Bond movie.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because I feel like it's gonna be like I think it's gonna be Skyfall or Casino Royale, one of the two. And and I'm not mad at either one of those, honestly.
SPEAKER_02I think Casino Royale is what got me back into James Bond. I think I mean, and you're a bigger Bond head than me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Wow. Okay. Goldfinger is widely regarded as the best. And often ranked Casino Royale as the best modern era. But then we'll go with Skyfall at number two. We'll go with Skyfall at number four. Yeah, yeah. I'm so down for that because I think that maybe is awesome. It has the best on Skyfall. Even though it's just Snake Eater, you know what I'm saying? It is, it is, but okay. Well, I think I've got my number three. I just I don't know where you're gonna go on this. Uh number three. Let me see. I'm gonna go Road Warrior. Okay, mom throw you for a loop here.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02Terminator Dark Fate. It is the best attitude. It is the best. I don't know. T3. T3 exists. T3 doesn't. A lot of people sleep on T3. T3's fun. Let me let me ask this. What would you think the the common consensus for three would be? I mean, I think people like three. I I mean, I think people really did like three. No, we just don't we just don't need to pick the the top movie. Yeah, the top, which would be T2 or T2. Yeah, it'd be T2, T1. So I'm thinking three or Dark Fate. So like if we if we're arguing, but I think that should go higher. We're at three, but okay. But yeah, I'll I'll pick uh I was I was gonna argue either one of these, but if we're going I'm I'm I'm gonna do dark fate I'm gonna I'm gonna do I'm gonna do dark fate at three because it's the last one Cameron actually worked on. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I know he didn't direct it, he produced it. Yeah, he he worked on it, so come on, bro. You okay. So I have my number number two whenever you are ready. What you got at number two? Die Hard with a Vengeance. That's the best movie in the whole franchise, though, man. But everybody, but everyone would agree first. Like for the most part.
SPEAKER_01That's the best movie in the whole franchise, man.
SPEAKER_02But most people would agree the first movie is the best one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but that's the best movie in the whole franchise, right there, man.
SPEAKER_02I'm sorry. It's better than one. I'm sorry. All right, all right, all right. Die Hard, only reason I would put this at number one. This is my favorite one in the whole franchise. Best one. You can literally go from one to this one. You only need to watch two. It's so much that I've only watched two once in my life. Okay? Couldn't tell you nothing about two. Is that it's only in the airport, right? Okay. I'm gonna go. If I'm gonna give you die hard at number one number two, but at number one, I don't know what you got at number one, right? But I'm going with Rambo. I'm so glad it came down to this. I have John Wick 2. I got Rambo 2008. Rambo 2008.
SPEAKER_01Rambo 2008 is better than John Wick 2. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_02So, but I'd say John Wick 2 is better than Die Hard with a Vengeance. Bullshit. Because there's there's one not amazing movie in that franchise, and it's Well, I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what we'll do. I'll tell you what we'll do. What we got at 45? So right now, we got Tokyo Drift at five, and we got Skyfall at four. Well, we bumped Tokyo Drift off. What we got above Skyfall? Dark Fate. Dark Fate goes to five. Skyfall at four. We'll put John Wick at three. We get John Wick at three. And Rambo goes to number one, bro. Rambo is. You cannot put anything over Rambo and Diehard. I'm sorry. It might it might be critically better, but as an action movie, this man turned somebody into a fucking car shootery board, bro, with a fucking minigun on the truck, okay? Also, man, just like charcuterie board. I said charcuterie. It might he might create a new yeah, he created a whole new board. Yeah, a whole new word, man. That movie's brutal is fuck. Is fuck, bro. Listen to me. That's my that's my second favorite, maybe my first favorite Rambo movie, bro. Besides the first one, I'm guessing. Yeah, yeah, the first blood. Second blood does not need to exist. That's all I'm gonna say. It needs to be, it needed to be first, it needs it needs to be I heard I couldn't, bro. I just heard it was terrible. I tried to watch some of I heard it was terrible though. It was fine. It's it's the same thing. It's the same thing with like Die Hard of the Vengeance. You could watch the first movie and go watch this one, and you won't miss shit. Tell me along. Yeah, I guess that's fair. Yeah. It's also like, I mean, if you want to watch two and three, like, I guess go ahead. They're not awful. But they're not good. They're not good. Rambo shoots down a fucking Apache helicopter with a fucking bow and arrow bomb. I mean, with a with a bomb, I'll tell you, like, yeah, they're literally the same movie, bro. They're literally the same movie, bro. Dude, it's it's like what makes it even worse is in three, they have like a stick fight, like a straight up stick fight. Yeah, like the just skip one and go, I mean, just skip two and three and go straight to Rambo. That's that's how it is. Just like if you watch the original Halloween, you can watch one and two and then go into H2O. Yeah, and then don't watch anything in the between. Exactly. It's a lie. It's a lie. All right, so all right, we got one, we got time for one more. What are we going? Okay, wait, real quick before we go on to our next one. Our horror first place losers are Dark Trade at five, Skyfall at four, John Wick two at three, diehard three at two, and Rambo at one. Yes. Sounds about right. Well, we were doing a little off the cuff here. We were doing some sci-fi, so he's down to that's right.
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_02Let's go with Well, remember, we're trying to pick and death, so this is gonna be a little trickier. I'm gonna say Avatar Way of Water. I'll give that to you because just because I ain't seen fire and ash.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01I think I think that's a strong way to lead off. I think that's a very strong way to lead off.
SPEAKER_02Okay. You wanna start off numbered number four? Matrix Reloaded! Matrix Reloaded number four, bro. I was gonna turn back in the future three. I it deserves to be higher if we put it here. But Matrix Reloaded is definitely a number four spot. You know what? You know what? I'm not gonna argue with it. You gave me you gave me job with. Yeah. Alright. Where are we going with number three, man? What's your argument for number three? Man, okay, so you know my number one, but I'm not gonna tell you. Okay. Man, number three? You wanna do back to future three? I love back to future three. I'll give it, I mean, it it fits. I I love it. I mean, up till recently.
unknownGo ahead, go ahead.
SPEAKER_01Until recently, like the last couple years, I got to this whole franchise. So yeah, it was different.
SPEAKER_02Ooh, you know what? No, no, no, no. I'm gonna say this. Alright. What go ahead with your your number two? King Kong versus Godzilla. I said I have Dune 2. I mean, I had Dune 2, but like Dune is we only have two movies though, so far. Oh, are there only two? Okay. Yeah, the 3-8 came out yet. But I'm going with King Kong versus Godzilla. You know what I want to put here. I'm not even gonna say it, so I know you're not gonna give it to me. You don't know what I want to put here? Let me let me hear it. Lost World Jurassic Park. I'll give it to you under one condition. What's that? Give me Return of the Jedi at number one. Fuck. Damn. Damn, man. I was gonna put killer killers at number one. Okay. Here's how I'll compromise with you. Here's how I'll compromise with you. Okay. We put killer killers at two. Mm-hmm. We'll not we'll take Way of Water off. We'll put Loft World at five. You give me Star Wars at one. I'll do that. That that works. That works for me. Okay. All right. Let me real quick so I have it in front of me. And just for reference, guys, he's talking about Predator Killer of Killers. Yeah, Predator Killer of Killers at number two. That listen, if you haven't seen that, picture Spider-Man, like the new one, the new Spider-Man cartoons on steroids. That's all I'm saying. And extraviolet. And R-rated. Yeah. So our best first place losers, sci-fi list is Jurassic Park The Lost World at number five. Matrix Reloaded at number four. Back to the Future 3 at number three. Predator Killer of Killers at number two. And Star Wars Return of the Jedi at number three. Number one. Hey, that works for me, man. That works for me. I ain't gonna lie to you. I'm pretty happy with how that turned out. Yeah, yeah. Well, we got one more. Oh, that's it. I feel like we're out of time. Are we not? Well, we got time. I wasted a little bit of time. So let's let's do let's do one more. Let's do one more. All right. I'm down for one more. I'm down for one more. Alright. Well, I think we uh I think we do superhero movies. You want to start us off here, Anthony? Number five, your nominee. Uh number five, superhero movies. This is a hard one, by the way. This is a hard one. This is a hard one. Like, I'm just gonna throw it out here, guys. Like, for example, you can't pick either of the Spider-Verse movies because they're both considered some of like the best superhero movies of all time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, number five could be my number one. I'm gonna go with Guardians Three. This is you say Guardians three?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm gonna say Guardians three.
SPEAKER_02Um all right, you know That's hard that's hard to debate that one. I'm telling you, it's hard to debate that one. I was like, that's fair. I was gonna say X2, but I think X2 is.
SPEAKER_01X2 is the best.
SPEAKER_02I was like, it's considered the best of the franchise. But I'll tell you at number four, what what is what I consider next, if we're going with the best team up, I'm going Days of Future Pass is number four. Okay, hold on, hold up. So we're gonna do Guardians three. Now you said Days of Future Pass? Yeah, Days of Future Pass. X2 is considered the best. So I'm gonna say that but what I consider the next the best is would be Days of Future Pass. Or we could go Logan. But I feel like Logan's like that firm number two. Like I feel like X2 is Logan and everything. Yeah, I mean, but see, that wouldn't be fair because it's more of a Wolverine franchise thing. And Logan is the best out of the Wolverine franchise. All right, Anthony, I'm gonna throw you a bone here, okay? Mm-hmm. Because I know how you be feeling about your animated DC. Mm-hmm. You want a son of Batman or Batman versus Robin? Okay, where we put where we're arguing for number three, or I mean number four or number three. Number four. I mean, I'm arguing Daisy Future Pass number four. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So I'm gonna throw out, I'm gonna throw out, you know what? I'll even go, I'll say Batman under or if it's animated, it's gotta be like DCAU, doesn't it? Yeah, I mean, all I'm saying is I'm arguing Daisy Future Pass. I don't I think Daisy Future Pass does so much right. I was gonna say No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_01Not um, I mean, damn, is it Daisy Future Pass I'm looking at? Hold up.
SPEAKER_02X-Men Apocalypse, is that the one you're thinking of?
SPEAKER_01No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Hell no, not X-Men Apocalypse. The one I'm thinking about.
SPEAKER_02Days of Future Pass where First Class.
SPEAKER_01That's what I'm thinking about. First class. I think Days of Future Pass or First Class can go here.
SPEAKER_02At number four. Okay, so this is where I was like, that's why I was like, oh man, I was like, Apocalypse is a weird pick. Yeah, yeah, no, no, no, no, no. No, Days Days of Future Past or First Class. First class is pretty soft. Because you get the origin. Straight up the original X-Men. I I think Days of Future Pass or damn or or what's his name is better. Days of Future Pass. Let's Future Pass. I think they're better. I ain't gonna lie to you. I love the original X-Men for what it did, but I think they're just better. Like that movie holds up to a rewatch if you haven't watched it recently.
SPEAKER_01This is what I'm saying. I think they're just better.
SPEAKER_02Alright, what you got at number three? Alright, number three, number three, number three. I about said Wetter Soldier, but uh, we can't say that. That's considered by many people the best in the beat team.
SPEAKER_01You can't say that at all.
SPEAKER_02Uh how do you feel about Batman Returns? I'd go with Dark Knight Rises. I guess that's fair. I feel like we're gonna give some Batman representation. I'd go with Dark Knight Rises. I feel like I would say that's a better movie.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I just wanted to give some love to not the Nolan trilogy.
SPEAKER_01I feel you, but it's only one right answer right now. Even with Batman begins or them.
SPEAKER_02I mean, we could pick Batman Begins, but I think Dark Knight returned. I mean, it's it's a consistency that Dark Knight. It's like people say the Dark Knight Batman begins or the Batman is the best Batman movie.
SPEAKER_01I mean, nine out of ten people say that Dark Knight is.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would say the Batman's better than Dark Knight Rises. I wouldn't. I want to make sure you said Dark Knight rises, right? Not Dark Knight Returns. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Hey, can we compromise with Dark Knight Returns?
SPEAKER_02I mean I mean it's my favorite story. Can can we compromise with it at three? I mean it's my favorite story. Uh um I'll put it in. I'll put it in, I'll put it where we uh we are going for three, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'll I'll put it, I'll put it there. Okay, all right, all right. Yeah next up, I've got Hellboy Three.
SPEAKER_00You didn't laugh. Yeah, this shit ain't funny.
SPEAKER_02I mean it's very funny. And okay. Um I'm gonna say Civil War. Yeah, but see 'cause like the thing with Spider-Man is it's hard if we're gonna pick a Spider-Man movie, we gotta count them like as a whole, but like everyone loves the first two Rainy movies. Everyone loves the Spider-Verse movies. And then you're not gonna give me Spider-Man 3. I don't want Spider-Man 3. Who the fuck? I was like, why would you want that? That's the you took it out of my mouth. I'm gonna tell you like this.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say the Suicide Squad, but then it's not part of that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's considered like that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_02Ooh, Deadpool 2. Do you wanna go Deadpool 2 or you wanna go Deadpool 3? I can kind of go out of the way. I mean, Wolverine, don't people consider Deadpool and Wolverine the best. Between that and one, that and one. See, because I feel like one's better than two. That's what I said. But I'm saying they would say they would consider the argue that which one is the best movie would be Deadpool the Wolverine and Deadpool. Two gets overlooked. I think Deadpool 2 is the perfect answer. Deadpool 2's also kind of got like, it's got some diehard 3. Yeah. Okay, I'm cool with that. I'm cool with that. This is what we really will have to revisit, because there's so many superhero movies nowadays, guys.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it is.
SPEAKER_02What are we at number one? All right, Spider-Man Far From Home. What are we at number one? Yep. I feel like Civil War is a cop-out answer. I also feel like it's not. This this is gonna be my issue with picking Civil War. If you don't say Winter Soldier, you say Civil War. I got two movies for you. You tell me if I'm wrong. Blade 2 or Ninja Turtles 2 Secret or the Ooze. So the thing with Blade is it is kind of like a tossa, right? Like you'll hear a lot of one or two, it's like even the thing is nobody says Blade Trinity. And if you do, you drink too much bleed, and you should really stop.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Bull. Steven, see, I feel like Secret of the Ooze is considered better than the first Ninja Turtles.
SPEAKER_01No, Ninja, the first Ninja Turtle is widely considered better than the first one. Maybe in the second one. Yeah, Secret of the Oz.
SPEAKER_02But then again, I've always liked Secret of the Ooze.
SPEAKER_01I always like Secret of the Ooze more, but the first one is regarded as the best of the franchise because it's the more serious tone, more close to the comics, everything.
SPEAKER_02All right, and just FYI, guys, I did recently re-watch the first Ninja Turtles, and it holds up. Yeah, it's really good. It's really fucking good. I think that's what I said.
SPEAKER_01Critically wise, and you know what I'm saying, fan wise, the census is that number one is best.
SPEAKER_02Plus, you know, super shredder.
SPEAKER_01I think super dudes is number one.
SPEAKER_02All right, guys. Our top five for the best super. Hero first place loser movies are Guardians 3, X-Men, Days of Future Pass, Dark Knight Rises, Deadpool 2, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Secrets of the Ooze. This is a fucked up list because we got Guardians 3 at one five. You want to hear a hot take? A good hot take? I probably enjoy Secret of the Ooze more than that movie. I do too. I don't even know why. Like, honestly, if we're talking about in the order of like, if I had all these in front of me, which one I would start with, it'd probably be Secret of the Ooze. Also, like, man, why not, bro? Like, Secret of the Ooze is more fun, it's more different. Like, we need some more Ninja Turtle movies. I know we just got that new animated one, but like.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm ready for a sequel to that one. You know, we missed the opportunity to put TMNT here.
SPEAKER_02We did. We did. But I forgot what happened. If we're gonna pick it, it's gotta be Secret of the Oze, because TB franchise.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it is. It's literally part of this franchise. Yeah, I forgot about that.
SPEAKER_02I just thought about it when we were talking about it. But uh guys, this has been another edition of One Tate Real Talk. And it was all in one take. One shot. Keep it real, guys. Keep it real. Peace. Peace.
