The Wake Up My Daughters Podcast
The Wake Up My Daughters Podcast is a Scripture-based podcast for Christian women growing in daily discipleship with Jesus through consistent engagement with God’s Word.
If you are a Christian woman over 50 who has felt spiritually dry, distracted, or quietly stuck in complacency, you are not alone.
This podcast is designed to help you renew your mind, deepen your walk with Christ, and be formed through Scripture in a steady, practical rhythm with God.
Each week features Scripture-based teaching and guided reflection to help you engage God’s Word more deeply and be transformed by it. Select episodes also include original Scripture songs to help you hide His Word in your heart. You’ll be encouraged to open your Bible, strengthen your spiritual roots, and walk in the purpose God is shaping in you.
You were never meant to walk this journey alone. And it is never too late to be awakened, renewed, and transformed by the Word of God.
Let’s wake up—and walk it out together.

In this episode of Advent in Advance: Preparing Our Hearts for Christ, we turn to Verse 2 of “Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus.” This verse draws our attention to the joyful anticipation of the Messiah’s coming—a reminder that God’s promises are fulfilled in Christ, and our natural response is gratitude and praise.
Through scripture and song, we’ll reflect on the hope that Christ’s arrival brings, not only for the world but for each of us personally.
📖 Scriptures we explore today:
- Isaiah 11:1–2 — The promised Savior, filled with the Spirit, brings hope and restoration.
- Luke 2:10–11 — The angel’s announcement of great joy for all people: the birth of Christ the Lord.
- Psalm 98:4–6 — A call for the whole earth to sing praises in celebration of God’s faithfulness.
💡 Reflection Questions:
- How can I express my joy and gratitude for God’s work in my life this Advent season?
- What are some ways I can bring praise into my daily routine, reflecting the anticipation and celebration of Christ’s arrival?
Advent joy isn’t just about emotions—it’s about choosing to recognize God’s goodness, even in the small and ordinary moments of life. As we prepare our hearts, we’re invited to make joy a posture of worship and daily living.
At the conclusion of this series, you’re invited to join me inside my online community, Watered By the Word, for the in-depth Advent study: Silent Night, Holy Word: A Journey Through the Carols. Together, we’ll explore Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus verse by verse, and discover how the joy and truth woven into this carol can deepen our worship.
