SPEAKER_02

Hi everyone, welcome to another episode of Bench to Bold. I'm Marnie. And I'm Alisa. And today this is gonna be like a Rorschach test. Do you know what a Rorschach test is?

SPEAKER_01

But you always have these great sayings. Well, I I I read a lot of scared. War, war, the war, war scares me, but Rorschach. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So it is, you'll probably know what it is when I tell you. So what it is is a test where they would put like ink blots down and they would ask people, ask the person in the office or however they were doing it, the test, like what that was or what that looked like to kind of get an idea of what was going on in their brain.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

All right. So I don't know. So when you said, let's do a what's in your bag, I was like, oh gosh, this is like of my version of a roar, like what is in your bag is kind of like what's in your brain.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I felt like, did you see the the Louis Vuitton um advertisement of what's in your bag? I did not. Okay, so that's where this is stemming from. And I did that on my uh Ashika Lisa. Okay. I didn't know. I saw your yes, okay. So Louis Vuitton used the P9, but they did it for uh for athletes. Right. And LeBron had one, Wim Wimby had one, and and so forth. And they were showing what's in their bag in the Pharrell P9 Louis Vuitton bag. So I have a red one, and so I showed what's in my bag. So I thought, hmm, this could be fun because you always have a lot of neat things going on. And well, thank you.

SPEAKER_02

Either I have like a lot of stuff, like S H I T, like a lot of it, or I have my jacket just to like it's either a massive bag, okay, filled with everything that one would need on a, you know, on what uh, you know, um, on the game show. I could be on a game show with this bag for sure, and probably win uh or something like that.

SPEAKER_01

I'm excited to see what's in your bag.

SPEAKER_02

And or I have like a credit card and you know, like that's it. It's either all or nothing. All or nothing. It's either all or nothing.

SPEAKER_01

Well, at least you have a credit card. Do you take do you carry your driver's license? I do. Okay, that's yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I have that too. Yeah. Driver's license and credit card. That's it. If I just take my jacket.

SPEAKER_01

All right, so you want to go first?

SPEAKER_02

Um no, you'll go first.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

You'll go first. I still, you know, you'll go first. This is might take a little while. What's in there?

SPEAKER_01

I got some, you know, yeah. You might have a cookie in there.

SPEAKER_02

I do want food in here, so I'm saving it. That you know I never go anywhere with that. I was wondering that because I didn't eat today. So I was wondering if you had to do it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, good. Well, I'm excited.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Are we gonna do tit are we going tit for tat? No, just uh, I don't know, should we? No, just unload it. Well, let's start with okay, so we gotta highlight the bag. Okay, okay, this is one of my newest Gucci bags. Um, yeah, I'm loving this bag. Do you like to go back to the silk? You know, I thought I'm monochromatic dress today, so I thought, you know, why not add a pop of color? Right. But let's talk about what's in the back because that's more important. Let's see. The the most important thing in here, because I'm old as shit, are these.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, I know. I need to go.

SPEAKER_01

Amazon, you know, the glasses. Okay. You know, I love bling, so we gotta bling the glasses up. Let's see. So I love these glasses, and I get commented on these glasses all the time. And, you know, I love these glasses. But without these glasses, I'm done. I can't drive. I can't, I damn sure can't look at my watch, see what time it is. I can't read any kind of message on my phone, so I have to have glasses. Okay. And you can drive with those. Well, I mean, when I'm driving, I stop at a stoplight and I have to look at my phone.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Because I can't drive. I wear gr I wear uh contacts to drive. I didn't have my contacts in, no, I couldn't drive. Right. But these are important because I can't look at my phone without the glasses. We gotta look at our phone when we stop at stoplights, you know. So I have to get it. And they're important because, you know, these are not round, they're square, so they can sit on my nose so I can drive and just keep them here so I can see, you know, I can't see long distances, so I got my readers for when I need to look down at my phone. Okay, that's important. These are the most important things. Second most important thing in in my in my bag would obviously be my wallet, because without my wallet, you know, this one thing about this bag is everything damn drops to the bottom of it. There's no compartments. You're gonna need to have like bags inside your bag. Yeah, I need a bag inside my bag. We'll talk to um somebody about that. Amazon. They have they have uh dividers. But yeah, so I have my wallet. Okay, because this is important. Now, does that attach to anything inside the bag? It does, not in this bag, but if you have um and and also this will attach to like your belt loop, okay, which that's really good. So this is nice because it'll carry my business cards on one side, and then it has a zipper where I can put cash, which I never have cash, so I don't put anything in there. And then, of course, I have a ton of credit cards and my driver's license, which is super important. Let's see, what else is important? The most the next most important thing in here would be my fireballs. Oh, yeah, you love those. So my fireballs. Yeah, they've broken two T. I know, I was just gonna say, but you have to in moderation, don't be Yeah. So my fireballs. And then you can't go anywhere. When you come to everybody's studios, you have to get some MMs.

SPEAKER_02

In a Tiffany box. In a Tiffany box. Faux Tiffany.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, faux Tiffany box, MMs. So, you know, I hadn't eaten today, so those sort of gonna come in handy here in a little bit. My next important thing, oh, this might have been before the wallet, is the phone. So we we can't go anywhere without the phone. I literally left this phone at the Derby, set it down. I forgot to tell you the story, and had no freaking clue where my phone was. So this is a lesson. Don't ever turn your phone on silent. Yeah. Had my phone been on silent, I would have never found my phone. We were leaving the derby and we got in a rush trying to get the hell out of there. Randy was trying to rush me to beat the crowds. We get to the Uber line, and I laid my phone down to pick something up and walked away from it. And it was on the wrong table. And had he not had his phone to be able to call it, I wouldn't have found my phone. So, note to self yeah don't put your phone on silent, which I do. You know, I got my keys, these are important if I want to drive. Um, and then, of course, we have some lip gloss. Of course, yes. The Lisa Luxe Beauty lip gloss. This one is trophy lips. So I don't go anywhere without my Lisa Luxe Beauty. Um, and then I have my hairbrush. Gotta brush the hair, you know, because it's it's a hot mess most of the time. Um, and then I have my compartments. I have, do you compartmentalize stuff? Well, this bag kind of has yes, I do. So I have so I have my two different little cute little um makeup makeup bags here because I don't like to, you know, throw lip gloss down inside of my bags because I don't want it to, or lipstick, if it melts, it gets on my bags, and I don't want that. So, you know, I get my little makeup mirror in here, inside of here, and I carry my Lisa Lux Luxe Beauty products. Um yeah, so I think, you know, and I carry a hair tie most of the time, but I didn't bring one today. Okay. But usually that's in here.

SPEAKER_02

So that's yeah, that's for the most part that's pretty, you know, efficient, actually. Yeah. I feel like I'm like I I'm gonna be this is like almost too much, but okay, we're gonna get into it. Well, yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_01

I gotta I gotta wait for the cookie.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I know the cook, so we'll get to that. All right, I did throw my belt in here because I just took it off because it wasn't latching. All right. So because it's a podcast day, I have my favorite. Have you had this? No, it's like chocolate milk. What is it? It's coconut water with chocolate flavor. Oh my gosh. Okay, it can't be low calorie, but it's delicious. All right. I didn't even know they made a different flavor. It's so good. We're gonna share some of that. All right, so on the what this one side, which is pretty organized, all right. I've got pictures, all right. So I've got photographs that I have a night, a napkin, like a nice souvenir, and I've got a funny picture of my mom and some pictures of my children. And I, you know, I I carry pictures. So it's like either the mother load, I carry everything around. But um, and this um happens to be a very fancy, I'll show you a very fancy um photo uh carrier.

SPEAKER_01

Air Mez. Yes, so it was a gift. Now, can you buy does it yes? Yeah, okay. So you can buy the inserts. I didn't even know AirMez made a day planner.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so you can buy the inserts, and there's pictures of Goldie and all that.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, so that's just pictures. That's a picture.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, this is just photographs in here. How cute. So I've got pictures in here. I ran out of space, so I just shove them in here and then I love that. I have it, but I still like pictures. I have you know, it's when's my next trip. I gotta go to Air Mess. Yeah, and get this. And you can like buy the different inserts like and take them out and swap them out. Yeah. So like this one is like family stuff. I mean, but you can use a day planner for it. You can. You can get because it's got the rings. It's got the you can um swap it out.

SPEAKER_01

So that's my pictures because I still like pictures because that's see, it's it's it's good to show what's in your bag because you have actually two things that I'd like to add to my bag.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so this is my old okay, so I this is my old wallet, but I use this wallet when I okay, so when if I'm not taking my jacket, I have three options. Either I take my jacket and there's a nice zipper pocket, I throw everything in there. If I don't do that, because I want to be not have the jacket, it's hot, but I don't want the big bag. I have I do carry a wallet with me, and this um can put a lot of stuff in it. So then you can carry this wallet, and it's an old designer wallet, it's old Louis Vuitton. It used to be blue, but I dyed it black because it changed color. So um, but I you know it's great because you can keep all your stuff in here and then just carry this almost just like as a little colour.

SPEAKER_01

You could actually get a chain and put it and make it. I've done that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's I mean, I do I have like a it looks like a tassel like for a um uh like what you would put on a drapery or something. And you could do a crossbody with that. That's it. And so this is a good so this is something, and I keep it with me so that I can do a quick transfer. If I don't want to carry the big bag and my jacket is not gonna be necessary because it's like nine thousand dollars. So this, my grandmother, it's nothing fancy, but my grandmother who passed away had written my name on it, and so I carry my mom's charm bracelet, which I can never get on my wrist because it's like it's almost impossible to do it. It fits me, but I carry my mom's charm bracelet. I need to zipper this up, but my grandmother, I'm very sentimental. My grandmother, Jane, had written my name on it.

SPEAKER_01

And so How cute is that keep it with a little Hello Kitty, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So she had given me some jewelry before she passed and uh had written my name on it, and so I keep it with me because you have a piece of your mom and your grandma with you at all times, yeah, and your kids, and right, and so those are the things, and then you know, I have like a bunch of stuff like Goldie wrote me a note, so like I just chucked that in there because that's always something nice to have. And then, all right, so now on this side, now we're getting into I brought this book because it's my mom's book, and I carry this with me because thank you. Because I feel like this is a great book.

SPEAKER_01

Anybody looking at this looking at this podcast, listening to this podcast, you have to read this book.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you. Briefcase essentials. Very inspiring. A 2.0 or something like that. Because I have so many of my mom's stories and so briefcase essentials. I carry that with me in places when I have all right. So now we're gonna get to some good stuff. I have stationary in here because I you need to write a note. I like to write notes. We'll cover up my address, but whatever. But I have stationary because I do like to write notes and it's something good to do. Um, okay, so now we're gonna get oh, some glutathione. You know, I'm obsessed with glutathione. This is not an ad, but I I wish it was. I wish you were getting paid for this ad. No, oh my gosh, the glutathione. Maybe you can. Do you want one? Yes, I've never had it. Oh, the best. Thanks. The best glutathione.

SPEAKER_01

So what do you do? Just drink this?

SPEAKER_02

Just drink it. Is it carrying them with me?

SPEAKER_01

Does it have a taste?

SPEAKER_02

It tastes like grape juice. Oh. It's delicious.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't even know you could drink it. I thought you had to take it like in a pill form. Well, you can, but this is like peptide.

SPEAKER_02

All right, so here, I'll show you how to do it. All right. This is my favorite brand of it.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm. Okay, so it's just like, okay. Is it jelly or is it liquid, liquid?

SPEAKER_02

It's liquid, so be careful with your white pants.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, I'm not gonna, I'm I was a little nervous about that with the grape because I would definitely get it on these.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, really, but all right, now let's go.

SPEAKER_01

So glutathione, let's talk about that for a minute. What's that good for?

SPEAKER_02

It's the master detoxer.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, if you do glutathione, okay, so this helps. This is good. I mean, certainly having this packet is great and wasn't attractive how I did it, but that's just how I usually do it in my bathroom, not on my podcast. But um, but I love glutathione, so I'll talk about it all day. Yeah. Now, when you get it intervenously, it does it like the it's the what they call the master detox. And so that will make your skin really bright. It'll clean everything out. You might feel like a little sluggish for the rest of the day when you're doing because everything is like getting cleaned out of your system. But when you do like a couple, like if they do like a triple dose of it in an IV, your skin will glow. I mean, more glowy than than any fancy, yeah, any facial. The glutathione. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Even after one, or do you have to just do it for a certain.

SPEAKER_02

Like if you were like if you have like a big party to go to, do go get an IV with glutathione, and your skin will be like uh unbelievably sparkly. I mean, I got it. It changes, it really does change the way that it really is amazing.

SPEAKER_01

So your skin's always glowing.

SPEAKER_02

Well, thank I don't do enough IVs. Like, I feel like I'm always kind of I try to, you know, I'm like you can tell like if your fingers are like if you're dehydrated from your fingers, but um but doing an IV.

SPEAKER_01

Sometimes they say.

SPEAKER_02

But doing an IV will definitely get you hydrated, but the glutathione is my favorite part of the IVs.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna try it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's really and then I I just take one or two of these a day.

SPEAKER_01

How often do you get the IVs?

SPEAKER_02

I mean What's the recommended? Probably like every two weeks, like once every two weeks. They're expensive. Yeah, I'm sure. So I think that like everything good is expensive. It's just it's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and especially peptides. They're so popular right now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and the glut, I mean, that's an the glutathione's an add-on, so it's like, okay, so now I'm, you know, add, but it's it's so worth it. It's you really feel better.

SPEAKER_01

And you get it better intravenously. You do.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, these are, I think, out of all the brands that I've tried, and I've tried a bunch of them, the best ones, but but uh and and they're and they're good. All right, I'm looking for the cookie. Okay, so now and I got a bunch of other junk in here. I got a bunch of receipts, like the dry cleaner, which by the way, I don't think dry cleaners do a good job anymore. I've decided. You know, it's funny that you said I'm like, wait a minute. It looks I don't think they do it sometimes. Do they just put it in the washing machine? What is going on?

SPEAKER_01

I think they just press it, but they really don't dry clean it.

SPEAKER_02

Because I I take care of my clothes. I don't like to send things to the dry cleaners that often. But and I don't even like to be a pain in the ass. But I was like, wait a minute, this looks not good.

SPEAKER_01

You have to go to a specific dry cleaner.

SPEAKER_02

I have to go to a better and they're nice people. I don't I feel badly because I don't want to be a nitpicker, but like I don't think that they're doing a very good job. All right, before we get to the cookie, we have, of course, um, oh, I forgot I had this in here. Okay, wait a minute. I'm glad I'm doing this. Hand sanitizer. Oh, that's important. All right, very I like it. Yep, that one. I have some, I have a lot of that. I like that one. That one smells like oranges. I've got um, oh, I got a Starbucks gift card, which is great. We should go to Starbucks. And then I have, I think I told you, you know, I made these for my mom, the grippies. Oh, yeah. All right, so we're getting a prototype made, but I have so these are the these are the pro this is my prototype. Like they have to send it to, you know, to get the actual prototype. But I got these in my bag because I sent a bunch of other prototypes. So now I'm just waiting for so imagine um imagine if you can't use your hand that well because you have Parkinson's or dementia, and now you have something to grip onto when you're doing face shaving. Oh, hi. Yep, do that too. That's that's the most important. I I had to try it with this one because I was like seen this one. Yeah, so that's a little face razor.

SPEAKER_01

So this little derma plane really good? Yep. Yeah, I need to get these. Are these disposable? Or you just disposable.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

On Amazon.

SPEAKER_02

On Amazon. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We need to.

SPEAKER_02

Are these my I might have gotten these at uh that store blue planet blue, no, not whatever. Blue Mercury. Blue Mercury, yeah. Um, but so uh like this, if you're trying to, it's hard to hold this thing even when you have it's not, but if you put a grippy on, then you get a much better grip and you can really fabulous idea. Not just for shaving, but like for brushing your hair. So um these are you can use the grippies for anything. You can use the grippies for anything.

SPEAKER_01

Now, are the are they gonna be size? Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, and we're having grippies from men too. Don't be so worried, men, for tools, for mantles and like razors and things. Oh, Robbie, I actually I'm gonna I need to talk to you about this now that I think about it. With ALS, Robbie's very involved in ALS. So I got my grippies, they're coming soon. Um, I've got uh a Sharpie because you have got a lot of stuff. I told you, I mean, it's been 10 minutes. I'm still waiting on the cookie. Okay, so I got a Sharpie because I'm gonna have to get my MMs out. All right, now let's talk about my cookie. There's a lot of other junk in here, but let's talk about the name of that place, Common Market.

SPEAKER_01

Is that where we went? What's the name of that place we went to of behind the stadium, behind the Panther Stadium? The good lunch place that you took me to? Oh no, community matters. Community matters. Holy crap, I want that cookie over there.

SPEAKER_02

This one's better. Well, okay, because this has no soy, no dairy, no eggs, no gluten, no seed oils, no sugar alcohols, and no refined sugar. So, where do we get this one from? You have to order it online. Yeah. But, okay, you ready to try some? Yeah. Okay, it's so delicious. I think it's a place called Nowhere Bakery. You know, living in California, I'm still on. Do they sell these at Erwan? No. But is this something like air?

SPEAKER_01

It is something like Erwan? Uh-huh. Someone told me the other day on my social media that I needed to learn how to um pronounce Ermez. So I'm I'm really practicing on my pronunciation. So Erwan, is it Erwan or Erwan? Okay, so Ermez, Erwan.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Um, okay, so this. You know, there's mean people on social media.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, first of all, you can pronounce it any way you want. This is good. I know, right? Holy shit. Uh-huh. Yeah. Do they make a pumpkin one? I don't know. So this is like a limited edition from this paper.

SPEAKER_01

Baby low calorie.

SPEAKER_02

No, I don't think it's that bad. I can't read it, so it doesn't matter. That's my new thing. If I can't read it, I can't either unless I put my glasses on. Right, then it doesn't really matter. But how good. But again, it's healthy. No soy, no dairy, no eggs. It's this place called Nowhere Bakery. So nowhere bakery. We love your stuff. We have to order them from California, I think. Um, I can't read it because I don't have my reading glasses here.

SPEAKER_01

Because but you Marty needs reading glasses, but won't get them.

SPEAKER_02

I do I have them, but I think I need stronger ones.

SPEAKER_01

And I saw I saw you with them on online, and it looks good. Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

It's not. So why are you waiting?

SPEAKER_01

It's just, it's more of a um it made you look really studious. Nothing. Okay, you're not already.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, I liked you with your okay, thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Where do they need of course? They don't play, they don't put the um Costa Mesa, California.

SPEAKER_02

California. So that's Southern California.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, made in California, but there there are no calories on here. So I'm sure those it's really in real ingredients, really indulgent. Right.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I gotta have a I I but I feel like it's okay because it's not like we're eating. I mean, this is lunch. We're working hard. Yeah. This is our lunch. Yeah, we're burning the calories off. So, I mean, and talking. So that it's I mean, I think that these are an match with the coconut water, it's really it's so good. Of course, it's chocolate with chocolate cookie.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you can dip it. But it's healthy, right? It's healthy.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it's not unhealthy.

SPEAKER_01

I like the pay that has no dairy and no soy.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Um, no sugar alcohols, no refined sugar, too. No seed oils.

SPEAKER_01

It is healthy. So I feel like this is a big cookie. You always find the good stuff. It's like the candy. What candy that they sell at Hare Cedar that you turn me on to? The gummy one?

SPEAKER_02

Rotten.

SPEAKER_01

Rotten. I love rotten. I'm buying those weekly now.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, rotten. I love them. I love them. They're very nice people. So good. They're entrepreneurial.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I like the ones that got the little things that are like nerds on the outside. Yeah, those are my favorite. Yeah, that's my favorite. Yeah, they're so kind of crunchy, sweet, sour.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. Eat rotten. That's what it's called. I mean, like, how great, what great marketing is that? Eat rotten. Well, they're really eating good. But I told it's all about the packaging these days. I mean, branding's everything. That's how it goes. Like, you know, and I look in my fridge and like I, you know, the kids are trying to, you know, become the new poppy, which I'd be fine with. Oh, I also have these too. Which I know. I saw those. Okay, these have you had these before? I have. These are, I mean, I like the dark chocolate cherry. That's my favorite one. See, I'm not a dark chocolate person.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like but it's supposed to be healthier. So maybe I convinced myself that I wish I could make myself like it, but I don't. Now, the the These are really. Pure deli dark chocolate sea salt caramel, I can do that. Okay. Because the caramel gives it some sweetness. But I feel like when you just do plain dark chocolate with something, if it doesn't have any and that those have the cherries, so that gives it a little bit of sweetness.

SPEAKER_02

These are pretty sweet. And then they're not these are dangerous though, because I travel with these and I can eat the whole bag on them.

SPEAKER_01

See, that's the thing. I couldn't travel with them. Because I would literally be driving down the road just popping them.

SPEAKER_02

That's pretty much about it. I mean, I've got a sweet thank you note from a sweet young man that um I sent some books to his parents. And so, you know, that was nice to keep.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'm excited about your new books coming out. Thank you. And your new Major League Baseball. Um yes, thank you.

SPEAKER_02

Again, it, you know, you know, I mean, you just gotta keep plugging away every day. Every day you can't stop. No, I mean, and the thing is, my mom would say this like you can course correct and you can change your vision. Oh, absolutely. And that's a good thing to do. And also it's helpful to like figure out where you want to go and what works and what doesn't work. But in general, to get anywhere and have any success, you just have to keep your foot on the gas at all times. And you know, get a little bit of luck, which happens from hard work.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That's it.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like we've both been fortunate.

SPEAKER_02

Well, we're fortunate. Yeah. I mean, and again, it's like having work pays off. It's just it's the only way. And and you have to just be consistent.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And it's tiring. You know, that's why we go to bed early and we take our glutathione and yes. Go. I mean, um, what do we take to sleep? Magnesium.

SPEAKER_02

Magnesium. I told you I'm gonna send you. Um, I might post it a picture. I was like, this is like all like in the morning. I'm like, look at my counter.

SPEAKER_01

I know. Well, I do all gummies because I like candy. So I feel like that's my treat. Okay. In the morning. So all of my vitamins are gummies.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Yeah, mine I have to just put out.

SPEAKER_01

Because something's not exciting to me to have to take a multivitamin pill. So if I have a gummy, it excites me, and I'm like, ooh.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_02

So I get some candy. Like you're getting rewarded.

SPEAKER_01

It seems like I'm getting rewarded. So my pre by pre- and probiotics and my um multi-women's multivitamin, my vitamin C, it's all gummies. And I look forward to that in the morning. I literally sit down with my handful of gummies and my coffee and bottoms up. Yeah. And my dogs, and it's, you know, my quiet little boy.

SPEAKER_02

Now, do you pre-portion them? Because like I when I go on vacation, I do. Because it takes a long time. I remember like just the individual.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and I was like, oh boxes exhausting. And just drop them in. Yeah. Yeah. When I travel, I do that. I gotta do that because I'm about to travel next week. And I gotta, I've been thinking about that because that's I've been gone for two weeks. Right. And one of the multivitamins, I get six of them. Okay. It's not just one gummy, it's six. So that's why I love it. It's like a treat.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

And then uh the other ones are like two of each.

SPEAKER_02

So will you like z I mean this is like becomes a full-time opera?

SPEAKER_01

I know. Like just so I have a big um big one that I've saved that emptied when I got a new one. And so I throw them, I ration them out, and I throw them all in that one big thing. Got it. Because gummies won't fit easily into a pillbox. Yes. So I ration them out for 14 days. So it's seven, eight, nine, ten gummies every morning. So you figure ten times. So I'm taking a hundred and what, forty gummies. That's I every morning I get up, you know, I'm going to brush my teeth. And as soon as I do that, you know, I do my gummies and I brush my teeth. So I have it right by my nightstand.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, just putting it all together is uh a heavy I mean, I like the thing is I guess it's just part of, and maybe that's why people stop doing it because you're just like, oh, this is so much.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I yeah, it's a lot.

SPEAKER_02

And I take a ton of magnesium at night and vitamin D and all these other things. And I'm I I I now can like even almost tell, like I don't even have to look. Like I've trained myself, like I'm so trainable that I can just pour and shot, I can be like, nope, I I can feel the weight. Right. I know exactly what it is. And uh and then I say about the gummies, they look different. I know what they do look different.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know what the ones with the vitamin C have like little sugary crystals on the outside, and then the probiotics have they're jelly-like, more jelly. The women's vitamins are more smooth gummies. Okay, yeah. And then the other ones um that I take, elderberry, um, have ridges in it. So I know when I'm pulling it out of one big jar.

SPEAKER_02

Well, which ones I should go where you're leaving the country, often other countries for your safety, we're not gonna say where you're going, but um other countries often have really incredible pharmacies. So when you're in another country, you can go to their pharmacies and find so many cool things. Yes, like everything.

SPEAKER_01

Everything, everything they don't regulate it like we do here in the United States. No, but in Mexico, you can find opioids, narcotics. I mean, you can get steroids, you can get whatever you want.

SPEAKER_02

In Mexico, and this is actually sad, they had this drugstore called Sanborns, and we would go to Acapulco a couple times a year growing up, and they had this lotion and it smelled really good, and it was like they called it like crema de tortuga. And then I found out that it was really from turtles, and I was like, I was so upset. Oh Lord, but it smelled really good. But I the minute that I found out that it was from turtles, and maybe they somebody was just joking with me and they wanted me to think that it was. I hope it wasn't. I never used it again. But I they sold it at the drugstore, it probably was like turtle.

SPEAKER_01

I love to go in the drugstores in other countries and look around. It's we yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Some of the stuff's really weird, but um but you'll probably find some good, um, good stuff there. Good supplements and good things, like they've got good hand cream and things like um just.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know what's really big right now? Korean skincare.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but I think that that's always I I I do think that the Koreans, there was a place in Los Angeles, okay, and no frills. I mean, this place is not fancy, all right. And it was in Koreatown. And I would sometimes get um a like a birthday gift certificate to go to this place, all right? So they would you would go in there and it was all women, and you would sit in the hot spring there in like in Koreatown. Let me tell you. So then after that, then you go and you get like a massage, all right? But it's like it's you know, it's baiting on you. Oh yeah. Yeah. Then they it's almost like torture, but it was great. Um, then they would take you and they would do like a rub, like a salt rub or something. I mean, and scrub you down to the bone, okay? And these ladies were in these like tunics. Then they would take these buckets, all right, which was my favorite part, but probably like water torture. They would take buckets, all right, and take the buckets and spill the buckets of water on you to get the salt scrub off, all right. And you're like, you're in a room with like a bunch of other naked women, all right? And yeah, this Korean place in Koreatown in Los Angeles, and they all looked great. The ladies looked great, they had beautiful skin. And amazing. They would do this. And this was probably 20 years ago. I went to this place, and uh, but I mean it's still open, but yeah, you would go, and I and I think that like they sold their products there, but uh yeah, it was in Koreatown in in Los Angeles, but no frills, and it was like, you know, a hundred bucks. You get a massage, you get the sauna, you get the scrub, you get the bucket, whatever. Then they put lotion on you, and then bye.

SPEAKER_01

It's like a few places here I found now. They're in strip malls and they're kind of scary to go into. But once you get in, a foot, there's a off of a there's a foot place where you can get a foot massage, and it's like an hour. Yeah, I mean, they do it from the knee down, and they'll do your shoulders for $40. I know. It's one of the best foot massages that I've ever had. I'm I'm I'm I mean, I'm I'm sometimes it can hurt because they press any bad jokes. Right. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

There's a few bad jokes. They all come to mind.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, but yes, I'm sure they're relieved that you're a woman going and not a man actually. Oh yeah, there's a few men that come through there.

SPEAKER_01

Not for foot massages. Right, exactly. They're like, oh yay, we we you know it's funny because they position the chairs so you can't see the door in the back. And I'm like this, you know, I'm nosy. I want to turn around and see what man's walking back. Maybe I'll recognize one. I mean, you know, in their business suit.

SPEAKER_02

Places they probably are very recognizable. Asian massage parlors. Yes, I know.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, that uh that does definitely it's almost embarrassing to be walking in there. You're wondering there's a subway next door, and the people look at you like, what are you going in there for? Yeah. You know, I'm like, I'm truly going in there for an Asian foot foot massage. I don't know what Harry behind me coming in in his three-piece suit is gonna get when he gets in here.

SPEAKER_02

That was like the place in Palm Beach. There were a lot of uh, you know, very expensive cars in the parking lot, you know, over there at the the one um massage parlor there. But you know, it happens. Yeah. Uh yeah, so the so Korean skincare. I I mean I think that like that um I'm sure you'll find tons of cool stuff out of, you know, when you're in European skincare, great.

SPEAKER_01

I'm actually using some right now that Tosca here in Charlotte has put me on a regimen. Does that do my skin look great?

SPEAKER_02

It looks beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

I've had it. I've had um yeah, I've had a couple of um micro needling sessions I'd never had before. That's does it hurt? Ooh, it's I've never had one. Oh, it's spicy. It is, so you do it really quick. Oh, yeah, you feel it.

SPEAKER_02

Is it like so it's like acupuncture on your face kind of?

SPEAKER_01

It's pinpricking, constant. Ooh. All over your face, neck, and chest, even up here on your eyebrows, right above on your lips. Oh no, that would hurt. Like I have a lip. And there's certain areas depending where it's at on your face, and that's more sensitive. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. That it hurts more. Yes. They don't she doesn't numb you beforehand.

SPEAKER_01

No, no. No, but hers doesn't go as deep. Okay. So that's what she specializes in. As she said you don't need the deep, deep. Okay. Um, so I'm on my um, I had to actually cancel this week because I had some things going on that I could not get there, but she wanted to see me weekly for five times.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Um, so I'm gonna go next week and then I'll pick up when I get back because I'm gone for two weeks. So I wasn't able to go back to back, but still I'll get it done within, you know, a six-week or seven-week period.

SPEAKER_02

So it's not like a relaxing facial, like oh no, hell no.

SPEAKER_01

It's like a workout. The the part before that, total relaxing. Okay. Feels so good. But then she gets down to business. Yeah. Yeah, but she's really good at what she does. So anyway, yeah, so I'm on some European, great European skincare. That's why I asked you that time, you know, because I know your mom used to wear nothing but Sicily.

SPEAKER_02

The Sicily, and she looked great until literally the last breath. Her skin looked great.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, I've seen pictures. She looked fabulous. And I I there is But I like to have that glowy look. You have it. Well, but you've done you've never done microneedling. I have not done that. Microneedling is, you know, it stimulates the collagen.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I mean, I've done Botox and silver and whatever, all of that. I mean, I'm gonna do it.

SPEAKER_01

But your skin's so it must be the glutathione that's doing it.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I think that that does help. You know, it certainly helps. I I do sauna, you know, I don't, I I don't I think that's not drinking. I think drinking or smoking. Drinking fluids, yes, but not drinking alcohol. I can tell if I've had a drink. I can I know that like I feel dry, it just feels crustier.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I just feel crustier. And especially dehydrating. Yeah, it's not uh, yeah, I can, I can, I can feel it. But you're gonna there's gonna be a lot of good products that you're gonna find over there.

SPEAKER_01

I'm excited.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I I um just even just the basic things just to keep like the lotion, just to keep in your in your house that aren't even like face lotions necessarily. Yeah, just things like uh hand lotion. Hand lotion if you get a little bit more.

SPEAKER_01

Keep it in my car. I really keep hand lotion in my car because uh, you know, when you're driving, I just think about it when I stop at a stoplight to keep my hands moisture. I don't I'm so scared to get, you know, H spots and wrinkly hands because that's what really determines when people look at you what your your age. I was looking at last night, uh Vanna White was on TV and she's always looked so great. And then I looked at her arms and her hands, and I could and sh I could really tell her age was starting in it was from her arms and her hands, but mainly your hands is what people look at.

SPEAKER_02

Well, your hands look beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

I don't have it, and you know, you don't have any age spots. Uh-uh. For so many years I did the tannin bed, and so many years my mom and I would lay in the and my girlfriends would lay in the sun, you know. But I don't have any age spots.

SPEAKER_02

No, you don't.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I really try to keep my hands moisturized.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I would see some people driving with gloves.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah. And some people I had a friend in Winston-Salem that had to get her, she had a uh skin disorder where she could not have sunlight, so she had to get her windows tinted like to the max of so but anyway, a lot of people do that just so they don't get um sun through the through driving. Through the driving. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And keep their sunroof closed. Well, your hands look pretty. Thank you. So any lotion, you'll any lotion will be, you know, we'll be lucky to be on those hands, Alisa. It'll be a fortunate lotion. All right, so let's see what else. I guess we're gonna stop because I there's more, but we'll save that for part two.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we'll save it for part two.

SPEAKER_02

We'll save it for part two.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you got I'm still on the Air Mez. Um I would use I would use, yeah, your photo book. I would use it as a day planner. Yeah, they have you know, I like the size of it. I have a Louis Vuitton one, but it's a little big, you know? That fits down in most sizes.

SPEAKER_02

No, I mean I can throw it in, and the good thing is with that, and I can, you know, change, I can swap it out. Like I have other um, you can uh buy the different inserts.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So that you can have like if you want to put um do you need we don't need a hand sanitizer now, but I do like this hand sanitizer. Keep it in that zone. We'll eat it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna have to order some cookies.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the cookies are really good. They're good for you know, actually it's good for traveling too, because you can just throw it in um you can throw it in a bag and it will last these last a long time. It'll last a couple maybe for you, but not for me. Well, I mean like a couple hours while you're traveling. Yeah, yeah. So I mean it'll it'll last.

SPEAKER_01

And then it's healthier than getting a cookie at the airport.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and then you just have your little I love it. I know. Look at these cuties. They were so cute. Gosh, wow. All right, well, thank you everybody for this um what's in your bag slash oh, get your shit together. Marnie and Elisa episode of Bench to Bold. I'm Marnie.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm Alisa. And I'm until next time, yep.
