Welcome to The Rebellion series, a journey over the next 5 months to help you take back your life and live in alignment with your soul's true calling ❤️🔥
Alignment 001:
Are you living the life you have always dreamt of or are you living the path thats was laid out for you by society and those around you?
Living our purpose is our souls true calling, but finding your purpose is the hardest part, what is it that you love to do and can contribute to society and be rewarded for in return?
In this episode, we dive into how so many of us are living a path that was never ours, how to find our purpose using the Japanese concept of Ikigai and how to allow this purpose to evolve and grow with you as you do in life
See you again next week, where we continue the Alignment chapter of this series and talk about how society trains women to abandon themselves, how we are raised to put everyone else's needs above our own, and how we can take action to change it and put ourselves first instead

Let me ask you, are you living the life you have always dreamt of? The life that you imagined you would be living, the life you know in your core, deep in your soul, that you should be living? Or are you following the path that was set out for you by society? Are you copying those around you? Are you living the life that your parents lived, that your friends are living, that everybody else in your family has ever lived? Or are you brave enough and courageous enough and rebellious enough to join me on this journey over the next five months to take full accountability for our lives and do a complete audit on how we are living, whether it is aligned with our soul, whether it's the life we know we should be living, and taking accountability and changing it. Over the next five months, we are going through a journey through alignment, understanding how being different is actually your blessing, not your curse, how you can become her and embody the woman you know you were put on this earth to be, how you can then empower yourself and be rebellious enough to be that rebellious good girl, and how you can actually take these actionable steps to change your life so that you know you can go into 2027, proud of the woman you are becoming, and proud of the journey you are finally going on. Because we are not here to play small, we are not here to fit into the box that everybody else has told us we need to fit in. We are here to live the life that we know we are supposed to be living. So if that sounds like something you're interested in and you want to become the woman that you know you are put on this earth to be, then welcome to the rebellion. All about finding your purpose, finding what you are supposed to do with this one precious life, and doing what sets your soul on fire. The Good Gar Rebellion is all about reclaiming your rhythm in mind, body, and spirit. Each week we are unraveling years of conditioning to reclaim our wild, rebellious, and intuitive truth. So if you're ready to reclaim your power, reconnect with your wildest self and rise as the woman you were never taught to be, you are in the right place. Welcome to the rebellion. Have you ever stopped to actually ask yourself whether you're happy? Whether the life you are living is the one that you want to be living, or as I said before, the one that society set out for you. We have been raised with controlled, conditioned, and realistic goals. Never we were never encouraged to dream too big, too wild, too out of the box. And for that reason, so many of us just end up living lives that aren't in alignment with who we are, with how we want to be living, and actually our own true values. For example, how many of you have ended up in relationships that potentially don't align with the woman that you know you can be, with the partner that you actually know you deserve? How many of you have ended up in jobs that you know aren't actually the job you want to do, but it's just what pays the bills, it's comfortable and it's safe and it's secure? How many of you are living in the hometown or in homes that you don't actually like because that's just where you were raised and that's just what everybody else has done? How many times have you actually stopped to ask yourself whether a decision is your decision or if it is a conditioned pattern that you are just repeating? This series is all about understanding how we are living our conditioned patterns and allowing ourselves to bring enough conscious awareness to that to take action and to change them. Because so many of us were raised with the same goals. Get good grades, get a good job, find a partner, get married, get a house or a mortgage, rent somewhere, have babies, work for an average of 40 years, and then when you're in your 60s, when you've paid your contribution to society, then you can retire. Then you can enjoy your life. Then you know you've done what you need to do, you've paid your price, you've done your bit, and now you can enjoy your life with your retirement. But only if you're lucky enough to retire with enough money to support you comfortably for the rest of your life. I'm sorry, but what the fu what the fuck? What is that? Why are we not encouraged to dream big and spend time in nature and find the relationships that nourish us and find the work that empowers us and nourishes our soul and is aligned with who we are supposed to be? Why are we so conditioned and so expected to stay in a box? And if you are here, if you are listening to this episode, if you are one of my girls, I know that you feel the same way I do. Fuck that. Because that sounds like hell, to be honest, in my opinion. That does not sound like the kind of life I want to be living. And if you clicked on this episode, if you're listening or watching, then I know that it is not the kind of life you want to be living either. Because let's face it, you can't travel in your 60s like you can in your 20s or your 30s. And the retirement age is just being pushed further and further and further away. So unless you have your own private retirement, you're just gonna get older and older and older and older before we're actually allowed to retire. So why is it that we allow the government, the system, wherever it is we live, whoever makes the rules, to tell us how we can and can't live our life? Because you need to be living your life how you want to be living your life, not how somebody has told you is the only possible way. So if that sweet little dream that we were all sold sounds like prison, welcome to the rebellion. Because we're about to unpack it all, and I'm going to help you find your purpose and find your meaning for living and give you the skills, the empowerment, and the knowledge you need to take action to make that dream a reality. Because what you want to be doing, the only person standing in your way is you. So let me give you the skills, let me give you the wisdom, let me give you the guidance that you need to take action and make it your reality. Because as I said, if you are here watching this, if you think you want more, you deserve more. You are here for more. 100%. If you are not happy with the way you are living, you need to have the bravery and the courage to take the action to change it. Because we were not put here to live in the system, to contribute to society, to climb the corporate ladder. Like, yes, being in society and having community and being a part of something is an amazing thing, but you were not put here to be a number at a desk typing on a computer screen all day, which isn't even real. We were put here to experience the world. We were put here to learn and evolve and love and grow and express how we feel and go through situations with people and dynamics and learn from them and grow and do it again but in a different way. You were put on this earth to interact with other souls, to learn about yourself, to learn about other people, and to continue to evolve, to interact with the natural world, to show it love and respect and care, and allow it to show you love and respect and care in return. We were put on this earth to experience everything, the energetic and the physical realm all exist all together all at once. And we were here to experience it, to play with it, not to sit at a desk for eight hours a day and type on a screen and send emails. It's just not what we were supposed to be doing. We were not put here to make other people rich, we were put here to make ourselves rich in mind, body, spirit, in every aspect, physically, financially, emotionally. Yeah. We were put here to be so much more than we are encouraged to be in our day-to-day life. But it's all very good and well for me to say you need to find your purpose, you need to find yourself's calling, you need to find what it is that brings you joy and what lights you up. It's all very good me saying that, but actually understanding what it is that you need to be doing, that you should be doing, that is unique to you, is a process. And for this process, we're going to look at the Japanese concept of ikigai, which is about finding your life's purpose, finding your reason for living. And I understand this and I know this because I have been through this myself. I have taken myself out of the conditioned norm. I've taken myself out of the life that I was raised to believe would make me happy. I was in the corporate world. I spent eight years working in property. I was climbing the corporate ladder. I was kind of in the position to go from a consultant to manager to director. I was being pushed in that direction. And it was something that I wanted to do. I wanted to do it. I was like, yep, that's it. I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna climb the corporate ladder, I'm gonna be successful and XYZ, I'm gonna have all of this, I'm gonna have the house, the partner, I'm gonna have it all. And then we went into lockdown. I've always wanted to travel, and I was supposed to travel in March 2020, and we all know what happened in March 2020. We went into lockdown because COVID happened. And in COVID, I then got put on furlough for 12 and a half weeks. I spent 12 and a half weeks doing nothing. Obviously, I know we couldn't really go anywhere, but I was at home, I was reading, I was meditating, I was doing yoga, I was going on walks, I was spending time in nature, I was spending time in the sun, and it was in that moment that I started to recognize myself again. I remember when I would work, I would look in the mirror and I would look so tired. My eyes would always be bloodshot and I just looked awful. And it was in COVID that I didn't have to use eye drops anymore to make my eyes not bloodshot. My eyes were actually white because I was rested and I was whole and I was happy and I was relaxed. And it was in that moment that I realized that there is more to life than what I'm living, and I'd always had a calling to travel, I'd always wanted to travel, I always knew that it was a part of my life, and I really decided to push that after. And I started a travel blog, and I've been through many different adventures and I have been on a journey to find my purpose. I have done the Icky Guy practice again and again and again and again. And you also have to understand that your life is going to change, you are going to change as a person as you grow, as you evolve, your goals, your desires, your dreams, your visions, they are all going to evolve with you. So it's about understanding that yes, you might have a set plan and a structure now, but that plan and structure might not work in five years' time. For example, five years ago, I wanted to be a travel blogger. I wanted to travel consistently and blog about everywhere I went, and then I got so burnt out from moving around constantly that I didn't really want to do that anymore. And I feel like now I'm better at sharing my voice, which is why I have the podcast, which is why I focus on working with women because I know that I'm put here to help women. That is a purpose of mine. I'm here to empower you to do the things that I have done, to take action and have the courage to change your life as well as inspiring you to travel. Yes, I still want to inspire you to travel, but I also want you to help find that deep-rooted confidence within yourself to make it your reality and make it happen. Because you don't have to do, you don't have to do what I've done. You don't have to completely blow up your life. There could be one aspect of your life that isn't in alignment, and that's all you need to change, and that's okay. Every single person's journey is going to be different, and every single person's experience is different. Everything we all need to change, it all varies. For example, for me, I changed everything, absolutely everything. Now I think back to it. I was in a safe, comfortable relationship that I could have been in for the rest of my life, but I knew that it wasn't aligned with the life that I wanted to be living, the life that I should be living. So I left the relationship. I know that I could have stayed in my hometown and I could have built a life there, and I could have built a life in the country that I was born in, but I don't want to be there. So I left. I know that I could have climbed the corporate ladder, and I could have been successful, and I could have been really good at what I wanted to do, but I know that it's not my purpose. I know that none of those things truly align with the woman I was put here to be. I am a free spirit, I am wild at heart, I should be out in the world exploring and adventuring and encouraging you to do the same. So, yes, you don't have to completely blow your life up and change absolutely everything. But I encourage you through this process that we're gonna go through, figure out what it is that is mainly out of alignment in your life, and you know what it is. Like, I'm gonna tell you what to do and steps to take, but you know deep down, whether you want to admit it to yourself or not, you know what is wrong, you know what is out of alignment, and you know what it is you need to change. We all do. We just have to have the confidence and the bravery to take the actions to make it happen. So, welcome to the Japanese concept of ikigai. Ikigai is your reason for being motivated to get out of bed in the morning. Finding your ikigai is finding your life's purpose, and to know your ikigai is to know your reason for living. We can all have dreams and desires, but why do you want them? Finding your why, finding the reasoning behind what you want, makes it more realistic. It gives you more motivation and it makes you actually more inclined to go after what you desire because you understand the emotional attachment and the emotional depth behind just wanting X, Y, and Z. But to find your icky guy, it's not going to be outside of you. Your icky guy is within you. Your icky guy is a process and something you have to go through yourself. It's a process of uncovering all of the layers and understanding what it is that brings you joy, not what you've been told should bring you joy. It's about unpacking all of the layers and all of the things that we have been raised as truth when actually you need to ask yourself if they're your truths. Is it what you want to be doing? Is it how you want to be living, or is it just how everybody else in your life is living? So discovering your icky guy is discovering who you actually are at your core. And then it's a link between your desires and the world's desires. What is it that you do? What is it that you want to do? What is it that lights you up? But also what is it the world needs more of? What is it you can get paid for? What is it you can contribute? Because yes, we still need to contribute to society, but in a different way that we're raised to believe. You don't have to climb the corporate ladder and spend your life contributing to the world in that way. You can be of service to people like I am being of service to you right now. I am sharing my voice and sharing my opinions and my wisdom and my knowledge with you to empower you to become a better version of yourself. That is my contribution to society. It looks different for every single person. And your icky guy can be simple. You don't have to overthink it. You just have to do what comes to your mind. So, as a part of the rebellion, we are going to have one piece of homework every week. After every episode, there is going to be one rebellious act that you need to make to take the action to actually follow along to this series and take the steps to change your life. Because you can listen to the content, you can consume it, and then you can forget about it in a week. But if you keep coming back, if you keep doing the practices, if you follow me along on this journey, then I promise you you will have the courage and the knowledge and the belief in yourself to change your life. So, homework number one is to do your icky guy. So your icky guy looks a bit like this. This is a really, really bad drawing. It's awful. But you'll have four circles or four pieces of paper, whichever is easiest for you. And in the top left, you're going to write, what do you love? Underneath it, you're going to write, what are you good at? Then to the right and the bottom right, you'll write, what can you get paid for? And in the top right, you're going to write, what does the world need? So don't overthink it. Just write down everything you love in the first box, everything you're good at in the second box, what you can get paid for doing in the next box, and what the world needs more of in the last one. And then look at all your answers and figure out where there is common ground. Where is it that something relates in every single one? For example, for me, what do I love? I love being in community with other women. I love sharing and listening and being in spaces with women. What am I good at? I'm good at holding space. I'm good at giving people a container to share how they feel, to empower them to be different, to change their lives. And what can I get paid for? This. Sharing my voice, holding community, holding retreats, doing things like this to bring women together. And then what does the world need? It needs more spaces that women can come together to empower each other and know that they have women in their corner who are on their side, who want to see them win and want to see them succeed at life, and know that they also feel the same way about them back. That's what I'm good at. So understanding what it is that you are good at that you can link together. That is your icky guy. What is it? It might be that you love telling stories and you're really good at writing and you could get paid for creative writing. And then what does the world need? It needs more stories about X, Y, and Z that you have a passion about. It's gonna be different for every single person. No one's icky guy is gonna be the same. No one's answers are gonna be the same because we all love different things. The world needs different parts of all of us, but you were put on this earth with a purpose. You were put on this earth with a soul's contract, a soul's calling, something that sets your soul on fire, and you know it. You know it deep in your bones, what it is that you're supposed to be doing and how you're supposed to be living, and what you're supposed to be contributing to society. And your iki eye is about finding the courage to make that your reality, to find the courage to actually understand that no, this is my purpose, this is my passion, this is what I can get paid for. Because you only have to be one step ahead of somebody else in order to help them along their way. And understanding what it is that you're supposed to bring to the world is just one of the greatest things you can do. Understanding what it is that sets your soul on fire, what's gonna bring you joy, what's gonna make you motivated and happy to get up out of bed every day is one of the best things you can do. So, this first step in the alignment process in the Rebellion series is finding your purpose, finding what it is that brings you joy, finding what it is that sets your soul on fire and that is going to get you motivated to get out of bed every morning. But it's also about understanding that your purpose and your passion is going to change. Everything is going to evolve with you. And if you create something now and it doesn't feel aligned with who you want to be, that's okay. If it doesn't serve you, let it go. Doesn't matter what anybody else says, what anybody else thinks, what anybody else has to say about your life. If you are in a job and it is wildly successful and you are doing really well, but it makes you want to die inside, fucking quit. If you're in a relationship and you have the life that everybody else wants, but you know that you're not truly in love with that person, end the relationship. If you're in a hometown that you have friends and family around you and you know you're secure and you know you're safe, but you dream and fantasize and wish you were somewhere else, then leave. This is what you are supposed to be doing. Wherever you are supposed to be, you need to be. You know where you're supposed to be, you know what you're supposed to be doing, you know how you are supposed to be living your life. So this series is here to give you the courage and the confidence and the knowledge you need to make it your reality. So make sure you do your ikiguai practice. If you would like any help, any questions, you can come and find me on Instagram at Iam Isabel Martucci. I'm gonna have a substack all about the rebellion, and you can also find more information about the Ikigai process on there. I am so excited to see where we all go at the end of these five months. So if you have found something really interesting, you found your purpose in your Ikiguy practice, then make sure to comment and let me know what it is. And make sure to share this episode with any of the guys and girls who need to hear this message. Anyone else who you want to come along this journey with you, because changing your life is incredible, but changing your life alongside your girlfriends, alongside those people that mean the world to you, is even better. So thank you again so much for listening. Make sure you do your icky guy practice and make sure to come back next week because we are talking all about how society conditions women to abandon themselves to put everybody else before them happy. So we are getting deep into the juice of female conditioning and unpacking how we can actually change that so that we put ourselves first and we make sure we put our happiness and our joy and our creativity and our abundance before everybody else. So, thank you again for listening. You can come find me at Instagram at I am Isabel Martucci, and I will see you again on the podcast next week. As always, all my love.
