April 20th, big game Energy four 20. For those that celebrated James, we are going to do our final mock draft it, it is the week of the NFL draft. It is NFL Christmas. This week we are gonna do our final one round mock draft ahead of Thursday. We are going to talk about NFL defensive lineman getting paid this weekend, a champ, and we will end with Rapid Fire takes James a week a month from now though you and I will be in the dr. I can't wait. Ooh,
Speaker 2I cannot wait to play some golf with you. I played the other day. Spence, as we talked about in the last video, let's just say I didn't kick the troops' butt like I said I was gonna do. Let's just say that didn't happen. My team, we did okay. We shot five under, but I think there was some cheaters.'cause the team, there was three teams that shot 14 under and I'm like, someone had to cheat. That sounds like some
Speakerpencil warriors right there.
Speaker 2Yes, it felt like that, but it's okay. Hey, and what I was happy about my team, hey, like I said, we were five under, we technically shot six. Birdies had one bogey, but we ended our round with five straight birdies. So I like our odds, you know, for the next turn. But Spence, you mentioned four 20 and guess what man? I did that little, you know, shout out to Laramie tonsil. If you don't feel like getting drafted this Thursday, you know what to do, man. Plug in right now, man. Photoshop, whatever you need to do. Laramie tonsil style for freaking this Thursday. If you're trying to go to the Jets, just put the mask on right now.
SpeakerI do genuinely wonder, do you think if the Laramie tonsil situation happened in 2026 when marijuana is legal in so many states now, do you think it would have the same? Kind of effect that it had back then.'cause his draft stock really did tank that night. But I honestly feel like if something like that happened, nowadays one AI is running rampant nowadays, people would probably just run it off as ai. But even then, even if it was real. Again, people aren't really caring as much about a anymore. I know the NFL probably would still suspend someone that tested positive for it. Oh,
Speaker 2yeah.
SpeakerBut the NBA basically is like, yeah, we don't care if our players get high. The BA, like, they're full on admitting it. Like Kevin Durant talks about, he is like, yeah, I play high. He's Kevin Durant.
Speaker 2Do I believe there'd be a lot of like at stake? I don't, but I do believe like some of these. Teams, like maybe some owners who believe. Smoking marijuana is bad and all would like, Hey, you know what? I'm not drafting this guy. Let some liberal state that allows that crap.
SpeakerYeah. The Broncos would be all over. It'd be, oh, he's gonna be perfect for our culture here.
Speaker 2Yeah. We fly Mile High Club and then we get high. Yeah. It works. Yeah. Denver's your spot,
Speakeralrightyy. We are gonna do our final mock draft. This is the final mock draft ahead of Thursday's. First round prime time in Pittsburgh this year.
Speaker 2Ooh. Okay. I love it.
SpeakerJames, we're gonna go pick for pick back and forth with each other. Okay. We're gonna do the first round, no trades, but there was a big one over this weekend. We will talk about a little bit later on. But we'll go ahead and then let's get this draft started. You, star
Speaker 2or me.
SpeakerI'll take it first, James. Alright, cool. I don't expect any rumor that we've heard recently to come to fruition. There's been rumblings that the Raiders might look to trade this pick. I don't see it happening. I'm a Fernando believer I think it is. No doubt about it. Fernando, Mendoza going first overall to the Vegas Raiders.
Speaker 2Yeah, they should start the draft at the number two pick. Don't even waste my time at number one, let him walk and then just start it at two with the Jets.
SpeakerGet it on.
Speaker 2Yeah. Jets, hey look. We earlier we said it was Caleb Downs. I thought that'd be, crazy. But I think what they're gonna do is they're gonna go with, they're gonna go with Reese from Ohio State.
SpeakerYeah. Probably the best player on the board there. Makes a ton of sense. And I think the Jets defense gets better there. All right. Cardinals at three. Obviously a lot of different directions they can go. Mm-hmm. I don't expect this to be a quarterback here, though. There have been a lot of Ty Simpson rumors lately. I just think this would be extremely, extremely high for them to draft him here, even though me and you both are fans of Ty Simpson. I'm not a fan of him as a top 10 prospect, so I'm gonna go agree their best offensive line prospect on the board, Francis maoa. At number three.
Speaker 2There we go man. Hey, so I know what everyone's thinking is gonna be Jeremiah Love. I'm going with who I think Robert Solid would go. He's a defensive guy. Gimme David Bailey.
SpeakerDavid Bailey, number four, to the Tennessee Titans. And that leaves number five. I would hate. For this to happen from a fantasy football perspective, I always look at things through a fantasy football lens for the New York Giants with the fifth overall pick, I think the rumblings are true. I see them taking Jeremiah love here at number five, especially considering they have another pick at number 10 coming up, they can afford to draft with a little bit of a luxury. So I think they go, Jeremiah Love at five.
Speaker 2I think the Browns right here, they'll go. So Sony Styles, I was this close to doing Reuben Bain, but hey, I got a big head and Little Arms. I don't know if I can work in Cleveland. The other guy did in Michigan. Yeah, but we'll go with Sony Styles.
SpeakerSo styles to the Browns at number six. The Washington Commanders on the clock with the seventh overall pick. There are some wide receivers on the board here. It's gonna be interesting to see who the first wide receiver off the board is. I'm going to go with who I think is the best wide receiver in this class. It's not carne Tate. It's not Mackay Lemon. I am going with Jordan Tyson from Arizona State here at seven. Overall, a bit of a reach perhaps in some people's eyes, but he's my wide receiver, one in this class, and I think the commanders solidify a probably weak unit outside of Terry McLaurin. Now you got Jayden Daniels some weapons to work with.
Speaker 2Yeah. And guess what? We're gonna go Saints. I think, hey, what? What they got, what they saw with Tyler Schuck last year. I think they go Mackay Lemon at the eight spot right here. Receiver.
SpeakerAll right. Neither of us are high on carne Tate. I guess he remains on the board. He'd probably be off the board for a, a lot of people here.
Speaker 2That's where it's happening. I don't care any, he'll definitely be drafted. No, no higher than 11.
SpeakerYeah. Kansas City Chiefs on the clock at the ninth. Overall pick. I see some very, very good prospects on the board for them here. Caleb Downs. Ruben. Bain, Mansour, Delaine. Obviously the chiefs let both of their cornerbacks walk, and ironically, they both walked to the Los Angeles Rams, so they have a big need at corner. I am gonna go with Monsour Delaine here to the Chiefs at number nine. Best cornerback in this draft should come in and immediately be a very, very good contributor from day one for that chief's defense.
Speaker 2Agree. I'm with you. So next pick. They went. Running back number five. We're gonna go, Hey, let's protect your ass though, Jackson Dart and Jeremiah love. Let's go with Monroe Freeling from Georgia,
SpeakerMonroe Freeling from Georgia to the Giants at number 10. Move the board on up here a little bit. The Dolphins, Miami Dolphins picking number 11. This is a great spot for the Dolphins. They played their cards right? They might have even been willing to trade up by this point, but if they stayed at 11. They let a really, really talented wide receiver prospect fall right into their lap with Car Tate, obviously no more Tyreek Hill, obviously, Jalen Waddle was traded away, so the Dolphins, they get a new wide receiver. One Carne Tate. And Malik Willis and him, we'll see what magic they cook up this year.
Speaker 2Right? There we go. I know. That's what I'm waiting for. Go Flames, Cowboys. They're gonna go draft Ty Simpson. No, I'm just kidding. This is where Caleb Downs goes. Just easy. Get this one out the way.
SpeakerYeah. Honestly, if I am a opposing fan in the NFC East and I see Caleb Downs go to the Cowboys, I'm, that would not make me feel very excited. That's a very good value for them there. And I love that selection for them. So the Rams at 13, I think they have a lot of different directions they can go. Correct. This website is saying that their top need. Is wide receiver. I'm not sure really why they think they need a wide receiver. I know Puka is kind of crazy and Devonte Adams on his way out. But I am actually gonna go with not a wide receiver for them. I think Kenyon Siddiq goes here to the Rams. They have a lot of tied in usage in in LA in that offense, but they've never really had an elite talent like Kenon. Sadik, I think they bolster the unit for Matthew Stafford. His weapons get a lot stronger. Kenon Sadik to the Rams.
Speaker 2Yeah. I'm with you on this one. Yeah, I, this is a pick that I see the Rams finally, taking. Finally, I know they always trade their first round picks. I know this one's from the Falcon, so, 14 Ravens. I thought this would be Ruben Bain, but I'm gonna go with McCoy from Tennessee, the Cornerback, just because it just, and I don't even wanna discuss what Zay Flowers said the other day about Mr. Harbaugh. The practices were way too tough, that's why everyone's getting injured. I want to hear it.
SpeakerYep. Now that's soft stuff here. Mm-hmm. All right. The Buccaneers, arguably at this point in the draft, they get the best value, and I really could see Ruben Bain falling this far, but I don't see him falling any farther than this. Reuben, Bain. Mm-hmm. To the Buccaneers, a defense that. Need some work, need some help there. And Reuben, Bain arguably one of the best prospects in this draft, but he's got those tres arms. Big, big head, little arms. I can't,
Speaker 2can't
Speakerbelieve that he falls down the draft board a little bit and he lands with the buccaneers.
Speaker 2Give me for the jazz. Gimme the Penn State Guard next. Yeah, no way. I'm butchering the name.
SpeakerI was gonna say, you wanna give his name a shot? Give it a shot.
Speaker 2All right. We're gonna go with. Vega, IE.
SpeakerHonestly, I don't think he didn't do too bad. Other sites I've seen him listed as Vega, ie. We'll go with that. But that was not a bad attempt. That is a tough one. The lions. I think they have to go offensive line here. I think Spencer Fano is a layup for them here. They have had a lot of retirements on their offensive line over the recent seasons, and I think they get a good prospect here with Spencer Fano from Utah, who in a lot of people's eyes, I've, I've seen some people say he is the best offensive lineman in the draft. So they get some good value here.
Speaker 2Mm-hmm. Vikings for me. I'm going to Safety outta Oregon. Dylan, thin men. I call him thin men.
Thin
Speakermen. That's
Speaker 2how I
Speakerthin men. I think that'd be m that's how I would say it. Alright. Panther's on the clock at 19. I have seen some people mock the tied in Kenya Sik here, but he's off the board. Mm-hmm. I am gonna go with, for them. I'm gonna go Caden Proctor. Another guy who's very polarizing as a prospect. A lot of people say he has the biggest potential of anyone in this class. It's just gonna be a question of his motor and his work ethic. James, you're a roll Tide fan, so I know you like Caden Proctor.
Speaker 2I don't like his past blocking game. You watch the Florida State tape and if, you know, the defensive ends are pinning their ears back, watch out Caden Proctor, but, all right. Golly, I took two cowboy picks. This is, how do I wanna say this? Gay bro? I can't believe I gotta do both for the gimme ca gimme Ty Simpson. No, I'm just kidding. All right. Uh, let's see. Oh, we went, we went Caleb Downs. So let's go with Mr. Falk from Auburn. Just right there filling up a, a need, with the trade with Michael Parsons to the Packers. I know they got some return back, but still, let's get some edge rushers for the Cowboys just because of that. NFC East with some of those running backs.
SpeakerPittsburgh Steelers on the clock at 21. They have a lot of different directions they can go. I'm gonna give them a wide receiver here. This draft side we're using is listing Omar Cooper as the top wide receiver, but you and I both have a have a love for Casey Conce. Yeah, I'm gonna go with him here at 21 for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They try to lure Aaron Rogers back for one more run at it. And they give him some weapons to support him. In the meantime, I know they have Michael Pittman and DK Metcalf, but we add some wide receiver talent to, and plus a wide receiver room that was terrible in years
Speaker 2past. Yeah. And plus also some special teams weapon. Casey from a punt returner pro, aspects pretty good. All right, Spence, I know we said no trades, but can I trade you the 22nd pick for the 23rd pick? You pick for the chargers and I'll get to pick for the equals.
SpeakerI'll trade you the 23rd pick for the 28th pick. How about that?
Speaker 2Okay, I'll get back to back. Alright, let's roll. Oh man, let's keep this rolling. Now. If it's me saw what Justin Herbert went through, we are going offensive tackle. Let me get Caleb Lu Moon from Utah.
SpeakerAll right. Caleb LMU from Utah at 22. Yeah, we know Justin Herber always pre, pretty much ends the season with linemen that are gonna be back in groceries and doing stock at Costco at the end of the day, so I love to pick for them. All right. You're Philadelphia Eagles, James? Yeah. 23. Where are we going?
Speaker 2Yeah right now, if this is me, if I'm right here, Spence, I'm looking at either. Offensive tackle, edge, rusher, or safety in my eye, I'm gonna go with, and right now I'm gonna go with Akeem Akeem Medis me, uh, Medi whatever.
SpeakerMeador.
Speaker 2Meador, thank you. From Miami, Florida. Just'cause you lose Jalen Phillips to the Panthers. We don't know what we're gonna get outta Nolan Smith. I'm gonna go there, but I would not be surprised if they took Quinone Mitchell's teammate Emmanuel Warren from Toledo. That's where I think they'll go Thursday night. But this is a pick. I see.
SpeakerOkay. I like for the Browns here. I think I see them going wide receiver here. We'll go Omar Cooper here. I'm not a big fan of Omar Cooper, to be honest with you.
Speaker 2Thank you. I'm not either,
Speakerbut we're talking about the Cleveland Browns here, so I could see them making a pick like this. That doesn't make sense in my eyes. And I could see them really being happy about Omar Cooper. And, I don't think he's a scrub, but I just think there are a lot better wide receiver prospects this year than him.
Speaker 2Yeah.
SpeakerBut we'll go Omar Cooper here for the Browns.
Speaker 2Yeah. Okay, so let's go with the bears. I'm gonna go with the defensive tackle McDonald from Ohio State. I know it's gonna be a risky one, but I think that's where he'll land.
SpeakerI'm not gonna lie. You might have sniped My Texans here at at 28.. Bill's on the clock at 26. Obviously they are in an all in type of year. Every year is an all in year when they have Josh Allen at the helm. Indeed. I don't know really what their biggest need would say. This site is saying Edge we'll listen to this. We'll say their edge. I'm not seeing
Speaker 2Zion Young from Missouri,
SpeakerI like TJ Parker from Clemson. Uh, it reminds me of I like him a little bit more than than Zion Young. Go ahead.
Speaker 2I was gonna say, it reminds if Zion Young gets drafted here. It reminds me of that Dru ski meme where he is like, me. I'm me. I wasn't expecting him coming. Me.
SpeakerYeah. I like TJ Parker as a first round pick. I like him a lot here. I like him coming outta Clemson. And he helps bolster a defensive line that will be led by Joey Bosa.
Speaker 2Yes, indeed. Joey Bosa and Bradley Chubb. Yeah, man.
SpeakerYeah,
Speaker 2that'd
Speakerbe fun. Gotta get some, gotta get edge rotation nowadays in the NFL and TJ Parker. I think at 26. Not a bad pick at all. I think he's gonna be a player.
Speaker 2Not a bad. All right, so let's go tournament 27 49 ERs. Scroll that list up for me. Spence, I think I know where I'm going with this direction just because it seems like they are playing receiver by committee. This is where they go. Denzel Boston.
SpeakerDenzel Boston from Washington, the wide receiver. All right, my Houston Texans on the clock, and I'm not gonna lie, I would've really liked Caden McDonald to be on the board. Here he is off the board, so I have to pivot a little bit. But the good news is the Texans are in a spot. I really feel they are in best player available mode. I think they can get whoever they have, top of their board, they can get them here. I'm gonna go though with another Clemson defensive lineman for the Texans. I'm gonna go Peter Woods, the defensive tackle, if there's any need for the Texans, it would be interior defensive line. It's the really only. Hole and I put that in quotations'cause they do have some solid players there. But if you had any weakness on the Texans defense, it would be the interior defensive line. They just paid Will Anderson over the weekend. Now they solidify someone in the middle to clog up some blocking lanes and set up some one-on-ones for Will Anderson and De Dene Hunter. I love the Peter Woods pick here.
Speaker 2All righty. So let's see. I got the Chiefs at 29. Looks like this. If it was me, if I'm in this position, I'm either going Zion Young or I'm going the another cornerback. So we went cornerback already once and you know, you gotta fill a void when you're playing teams like the Chargers and the Broncos and the Raiders. So let me get, let's go. We're gonna go Terrell. We're gonna go the cornerback from Clemson going two cornerbacks gonna follow the Eagle strategy, man. Hey, why not, man? It worked one time.
SpeakerI like that. I like that we get one really elite prospect in the top 10. One falls to them at 29 and just like that, they went from having no corners to two corners on first round contracts that they get for a very affordable salary for five seasons. Dolphins on the clock. Again, I'm loving all these teams that have multiple first round picks. Correct. It's gonna make the draft really interesting when it comes to trades. Mm-hmm. I think that's why we can expect a lot of trades. We're not doing any trades in our mocks. But I think we're gonna see, and we say this every year, but I genuinely believe this year we will see more trades because we have so many teams with multiple first round picks. But the dolphins on the clock here. We gave him a wide receiver earlier. Let's continue to bolster that offensive line. I'm gonna go Max Hin nacha. Not sure.
Speaker 2Nacho not bad.
SpeakerSome of the names in this year's draft also really tough to say. What's, I think in years past, there has not been so many unique first names like we have seen this year.
Speaker 2Yeah. This one right here for the Patriots wrapping up after losing the Super Bowl, I am gonna look, and this is a shocker for me, I don't think they would go. Offensive tackle here'cause they got the new left tackle and left guard last year. But I think what they'll do is they'll go, Emmanuel Warren Safety from Toledo,
SpeakerEmmanuel McNeil Warren from Safety from Toledo, and the Seahawk Super Bowl champions at 32. A lot of different directions that they could go. But I think they are another team that is in a spot where they can go best player available on their board, and I think they're gonna go with cornerback from Tennessee, Colton Hood.
Speaker 2Yep.
SpeakerI've seen him actually in a lot of mock drafts go there and I, I think it makes a lot of sense. Again, they're BPA and I think this mock draft looks pretty good. I really could see something like this happening. But like I said, just a moment ago, James, I don't think this is gonna be anywhere close to the final mock because we're gonna see trades on trades on trades.
Speaker 2At least for one thing's for sure. We got the number one pick rank. We'll go with that. Correct. We were one for one. And can't tell me off this ledge for sure.
SpeakerYeah, but y'all let us know in the comments, what do y'all think about our mock? Which ones did we get right? And what players did we leave out that are gonna be steals for teams in the second round?
Speaker 2Heck yeah. Or even heck. What is your team? What do you think your team's gonna draft? Man? I wanna know, man. Do you think the Browns are gonna draft the receiver? Do you think, heck, you think somebody's gonna steal, get a steal? Let us know.
SpeakerWell, James, I mentioned it a couple times in our mock draft, but this weekend defensive lineman got paid in the NFL. First News came out early in the weekend that the Texans gave Will Anderson Jr. A three year,$150 million extension that will now tie him to the franchise through the 2030 season. I'm a Texans fan. I was ecstatic when I got this notification on Friday. James, you're a roll Tide guy. So we both are big Will Anderson fans, but this is just the first bit of news later in the weekend on Saturday, in the midst of NBA playoffs, NFL, once again, stealing headlines and a blockbuster deal with the Giants trading Dexter Lawrence to the Bengals for the 10th overall pick straight up just the 10th overall pick and they gave him a new contract, a one year$28 million extension. He had two years left on his deal, so he's now got a three year deal with the Bengals. James. What do you make about these deals, these defensive linemen getting paid this weekend?
Speaker 2Yeah, so of course with Will Anderson. I'm always gonna say woo ta. Okay, now that I got that outta my system one, love it for the Texans. Two. Their defense was super elite. We said it all year last year. They could just have a heartbeat on offense. They would've won the Super Bowl miles and miles. That's how I feel about the defense, was just that elite. But Spence, let me roll this back to you. Are you worried, though, I wouldn't say worried is the right word. What are your thoughts on 30% of your payroll being on two defensive players like De Neil, hunter and Will Anderson? We get what Will Anderson's gonna bring, but as you mentioned, your team, you've got people coming up on a payday soon, like CJ Stroud. How do we feel about at least two players. Taking 30% of your cap,
SpeakerBoth these guys have. Each year they've been together both getting double digit sac totals, and not just that. That's a casual way to look at defensive end production. These guys both excel in the run game as well. It does not get any better than the Will Anderson Dene Hunter Duo. They compliment each other so well. You can't really double team either of them. Basically every single play, one of them is gonna have a one-on-one matchup and good luck to any offensive lineman. That is dealing with those guys in a one-on-one. That's why in the mock draft we did earlier in the episode, y'all can go check that out. I mocked them to get a defensive lineman on the interior.'cause that just opens up more lanes, more opportunities for'em to have one-on-ones. So yes, it's a lot of cap, but I'm also cognizant of the fact that. Dan Neil Hunter is on his way out. He won't be on the cap much longer. I know they keep giving him one year extensions every single off season. And so yeah, we're gonna have them both under contract in a few years for a combined$90 million basically. But it's well worth it again, when you're actually getting production from these guys and they're giving you. A defense. They're the anchors of the defense that is truly generational, truly should have had more success than they did. Shout out, cj, you are not getting your deal for a little bit. That's why we paid Will Anderson first. But all in all, I'm not worried about it. What one bit the money will work out. And Nick Rio, the GM for the Texan, has done a really good job of staggering contracts. He times it well to when one guy's contract comes up, it's time. To pay another guy. And he's constantly rolling the money over. And unlike teams like the Cowboys, Nick Castro's very good about paying his guys early than, or earlier than the market would dictate and getting them ready to go in the contract. So I'm really happy about it. I'm excited that Will Anderson ain't going anywhere. And I was a little worried that they weren't gonna pay him and they were just gonna let the option run out. But like I said, they took care of'em early and we will see this contract age very well, I think over the years.
Speaker 2Yeah, man. I, you mentioned it too. Dexter Lawrence getting traded to the Bengals. I will say this, the Giants won this trade. We can joke about the Cincinnati Bengals thought process on Yes. Did they get, did they upgrade on the defensive side with Dexter Lawrence? Yes. But it's just how they did it with you Didn't want to pay your best defensive player. Trey Hendrickson, and you let him go. Now you trade your top 10 pick for a guy for, yeah, you extend him one year, but guess what? He's only on a three year deal. And guess what's gonna happen? He's gonna want another extension next year. And now you're gonna have to do either the same baloney with Trey Hendrickson that you did with Jesse Bates. Is are you gonna pay this guy or are you gonna trade him, or are you gonna let him walk? And the Bengals let people walk. So in the end, I like this trade for the Giants. And I don't wanna joke about Dexter Lawrence's weight. Everyone jokes and says like, man, he looked like he put on some weight to get outta New York. Hopefully he'll be he'll be needing to shed a few pounds chasing Lamar Jackson.
SpeakerOne stat about Dexter Lawrence that I saw this weekend, it just blew my mind. Warren Sharp tweeted it out. It was the total amount of pressures generated from being lined up as a nose tackle. It was Dexter Lawrence with over a hundred. And then literally a massive gap between him and the number two Vita vea of the Buccaneers with like 30, I forget the exact number, but it was like a massive gap. Dexter Lawrence does some, he has a very unique skill set in terms of defensive lineman in the NFL and the Bengals. Their defense ha, for years has just been super disappointing.
Speaker 2Yeah.
SpeakerAnd I, I like to see them make some moves. Trey Hendrickson's over here probably like why couldn't this have been me? Why, why?
Speaker 2Yeah, why couldn't this have been me last year and you got Dexter Lawrence this year, and then we could be somewhat dominant on D
SpeakerDefense. Correct. And you could have kept your 10th overall pick. Like, what are we, what are we doing here? Now, he's a Baltimore raven, and he is gonna be. Coming after Joe Burrow, but I think all in all, I think it's proving a concept in football that I've always believed in. I truly believe to build a contending team, you have to build in the trenches, get your quarterback first. Obviously, we all know that your quarterback, it's starts and ends with quarterback playing in the NFL period. It's always gonna be that way. It's the most important position in all of sports. But after that. Build your offensive line. Build your defensive line. Yep. It makes the rest of the units jobs so much better and easier to do their jobs. Whenever you have solid play in the trenches, get dirty in the middle of the field first, and then add the sexy skill positions like corners and wide receivers. But I like to see these big boys get paid. And two true game wreckers in Will Anderson and Dexter Lawrence I think they're gonna make massive differences. For their teams going forward. Now both in the a, FC, so
Speaker 2whew. I know a FC north too, to be precise. Yeah, it's insane. Now, Spence, I know we're gonna joke. I was, we're gonna go to the quick takes, but Spence, you paying Jacobi Brit top tier dollar?
SpeakerOh yeah. Jacob, Brit out here requested money. He wants starter money from the Arizona Cardinals. I got that notification and I, I respect it and it makes sense, but Jacoby. Come on, man. Man, come on man. I know you put up numbers last year and I appreciated it. I picked you up off waivers in fantasy and you won me some games, but. Dude, you won like one game. It was like the game against cowboys on Monday night Football. I don't think he won another game besides that. Yeah. And maybe he was just being the tank commander, but dude, you should not be out here re requesting a new contract.
Speaker 2Yeah. You know what's sad is when like Malik Willis, who you know, I love, he won more games as a backup. For Green than Jacoby did, and Jacoby played most of the season, like I think Malik only played like two games and got two doves as a starter. Like
SpeakerYeah. If I'm the Cardinals, I just, I look at that request and I say, denied. We're drafting Tyson Simpson, and you can choose to show up or not you want starter money. Okay, we'll just make you back up. That's fine.
Speaker 2Yeah. Yeah, dude, I saw that and I was like, man, this is insane, but Alright, Spence, man, let's go to the quick rapid text man as we wrapping up this lovely episode. Now, Spence, we got the draft this Thursday. Now Spence, can you guess the top five colleges with the most number one over picks right now?
SpeakerLet's go ahead and get the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Speaker 2No.
SpeakerReally.
Speaker 2Okay. They're not even in the top 10 on this list. They have two, but not in the top 10.
SpeakerOkay. How about USC
Speaker 2number one at six players? There you go. All right, man. Four more.
SpeakerOkay. I'm trying to think of, uh, how about, can I get LSU
Speaker 2No, LSU does have three, but they're tied for. I guess you would say six or seven.
SpeakerAh, man. Just outside the top five. Okay. Um, let me see. Can I get Ohio State?
Speaker 2Ohio State is also tied with LSU at seven with three.
SpeakerHmm. I have a feeling some of these are gonna be some really weird schools.
Speaker 2I'll tell you this, they're all well, recognized schools. So Power five, no random, like no randoms, but we got. No, nevermind. Cannot tell you the hint actually.
SpeakerOkay. I, oh, I got one. How about Oklahoma?
Speaker 2Oklahoma tied number three at five players.
SpeakerOkay.
Speaker 2Oh, actually, matter of fact, Oklahoma's tied second with the other two teams with five players, so not threes. Five.
SpeakerLet's go ahead. Let's do. You, not you saying Alabama is, it's throwing me off.'cause I wanna say Georgia.
Speaker 2Georgia tied number two with Oklahoma with five players. All right.
SpeakerI was a little hesitant on Georgia'cause the only one I can think of for them off the top of my head right now is Matthew Stafford. But I'm sure there's more, and I'm sure there's an obvious one I'm not thinking of right now. Um. How many more am I needing?
Speaker 2You need two more teams and technically if you guess the third team,'cause there's a tie for fifth with four players. I'll give you the one.
SpeakerMm. I already guessed. LSU, um, let me give Florida State.
Speaker 2No.
SpeakerMm-hmm. I was thinking maybe with the, okay. How about Miami?
Speaker 2Miami's tied seventh with the other LSU Ohio State schools. Dang. With three players.
SpeakerUh, how about Notre Dame?
Speaker 2Notre Dame? This third team tied for second with five players. So we got USC, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma. We are now missing the one team in the top five.
SpeakerAh,
Speaker 2with four players.
SpeakerCan I get Clemson?
Speaker 2No final guess.
SpeakerUm, Michigan?
Speaker 2No. Your team that you were looking for in the top five, they're tied with four players. Stanford. Oh yeah. And Auburn,
SpeakerStanford. I should have, I should have thought about Stanford. Andrew Luck. John Elway.
Speaker 2Yeah. And then you got Auburn with Cam Newton and, yeah. Oh, hey man. Matter of fact, I guess we'll see Indiana up there to this Thursday. They'll get, I, I don't know how many they have. Number one overall, it only gimme a top 10 list, so we're gonna say at least one player from Indiana. We'll be drafting number one overall because we'll do the ECT later.
SpeakerAll uh,
Speaker 2any
Speakerrapid takes.
Speaker 2Yeah, man, I totally got lost, man. Hey, you already know, man. Hey. The Lakers, man, they beat the Rockets man in game one on Saturday night, and as I told you in the last video, the X Factor is who.
SpeakerLuke Ard,
Speaker 2Luke Canard. So Luke Ard is the third player to shoot a hundred percent from the three point line with five plus attempts in a single game in Lakers playoff history. Can you guess the other two players right now?
SpeakerOh gosh, I don't think Kobe did it.
Speaker 2No. At least you know that one. I won't even give you that as a guess.
I
Speaker 2will give you
Speakerthis
Speaker 2Only Lakers, i'll give you a hint. One, he was a very known head coach two. This guy was, I would say he was an all, all around six man of the year.
SpeakerOkay, I'm gonna go Byron Scott.
Speaker 2Byron Scott back in 1991, he did it.
SpeakerOkay. And then I'm gonna go. Lou Williams?
Speaker 2No.
SpeakerDerrick Fisher.
Speaker 2No. I will give you one last hint. He used to be a Houston Rocket.
SpeakerMy boy Trevor Za.
Speaker 2Damn you. No big shot. Bob Robert Orry from Alabama. Real tie, Robert Orry did it back in 1997 for the Lakers.
SpeakerHey, Robert Orry doesn't get enough respect on the all time list. Seven championships, goat seven championships. Yeah,
Speaker 2he got more than your goat. That's
Speakerall that's exactly right. Whoever your goat is. Big shot. Bob got more rings then put some respect on his name.
Speaker 2Okay, definitely. But hey man, lunar did his thing in game one, Spence. I don't expect that to happen in game two and I hope Kevin Durant shows up so the rockers have some type of life on the offense side.
SpeakerYeah, my beard is my beard's in danger right now. This is bad. This
Speaker 2is bad. This is really,
Speakerreally bad.
Speaker 2Yo, I couldn't imagine if like the rock, and I don't think the rocks will shoot that poorly again on Tuesday night. But what if they go down oh two and all of a sudden the magic God, like you mentioned. Luca and Austin Reeves come back for game three. Oh, dude, I'll feel real so bad for your beard. At least it'll grow back when we golf in the dr at least. Yeah,
SpeakerAnd honestly, my, my beard does grow pretty quick, but I haven't been clean shaven in over 10 years. James. It's been a long, long time since I've been clean shaven, dude.
Speaker 2Wow. You, so your 10 years? I haven't cleaned shaves in over 12.
SpeakerYeah.
Speaker 2So we're Right. Neck and neck.
SpeakerYeah. Once I was able to have a full beard, I, I have not looked back. I love having a head side. I'm a man, you know what I'm saying?
Speaker 2I'm a man. I like beef jerky and a beard.
SpeakerAlright, well that is big game energy for today, April 20th. We will see y'all next week though. We will have a live stream for the draft going on on Thursday. I'll be hanging out with our boys, Reuben and Nick. James gonna stop in for a little bit, hopefully, but we're gonna be breaking down the entire first round and we will see y'all next week. We'll be breaking down. The draft fallout, and we will be talking about some NBA playoffs then as well. So until next time, for James, I'm Spencer. We'll see y'all next time on Big Game Energy.
Speaker 2Let's go.
