What Do You Want to Hear Us Discuss?

Spencer

Big Game Energy, May 11th, 2026. James and Spencer hanging out with you. Today's episode, we have got some fun stuff to discuss. We have the NBA draft lottery reaction. Ooh. The Wizards are getting the first overall pick, and I have thoughts on this, James. We have to also update the people previously on Big Game Energy. We have actually several things we could address here. What do you wanna address first from previously on? Um, well, let's- Because there's several things we should address from previously on let's

James

go, let's go with the number one. Most traction this week. It was your take on if James Harden had SGA's whistle, James Harden would've won multiple titles. We got a lot of comments in that one. Spence, a lot of people saying we were spewing a lot of kaka. A lot of people were on your side saying, "Bro, this was true. This was true." He wasn't lying, though.

Spencer

I of course know I'm in the minority on my view on James Harden. That doesn't mean I don't know ball, though. Go look up my Twitter account from the years of 2016 through 2020. There's a lot of James Harden defense there that I spent way too much of my life doing in my young adulthood. So I, I don't have to speak anymore on James Harden. J- just the timing, though, of that. Just the timing of when we dropped that clip to him, them being horrendous in games one and two, followed up by a heroic effort in game three in which he clutched up. Yes, James Harden clutched up in the playoffs- Word and won the game for the Cavs against the Pistons to keep them in the series, 'cause that could've been a 3-0 death blow. But now it's 2-1, and at the time of this recording, it will be game four on Monday night, and I'm gonna time travel a little bit for anyone catching this later. I think the Cavs get it done. It's 2-2 going back to Detroit.

James

Oh, man. Hey, you know what? We need 2-2 because we joked earlier off the air, but we can say it on the air.

Spencer

Yeah.

James

Who would've thought round one would've been more interesting and exciting than the second round? We were getting swept by the Knicks. We're getting ready to get swept by the Thunder. Luckily for the T-Wolves, man, they pulled that out. But yeah. Hey, I was praying for you. When I saw game three, what was happening, I was like, "If the Cavs go down 0-3, we are so screwed."

Spencer

Yeah.

James

We were already screwed from the jump with the 76ers. You screwed us, Philly. We cannot believe this process.

Spencer

That was the other spot that I felt like we should address, was how quickly- The 76ers went out sad and then Okay, what's, we'll come to the Knicks in a little bit. But for the Sixers, I know Joel Embiid missed game, I think it was game two.

James

Two.

Spencer

I, that counts for something. It's not nothing. However, man, that aged like milk. And I think honestly what this tells me more than anything is how flawed are the Boston Celtics that they blew a 3-1 lead to this team, the 76ers team who- Yeah is in a rebuild year kind of, and Joel Embiid was gone most of the postseason, and you couldn't beat that team?

James

No.

Spencer

And you lost game seven in Boston?

James

Yeah, on your home court. Now, I, hey, I will say this to a degree, Spence. You already know how I feel. Jayson Tatum was acting like a little B-I-you-know-what. I'm sitting out game seven 'cause of right knee stiffness." But that's another thing for another day for me. I'm with you, Spence. Even though in our clip we both went for the 76ers to win, me 76-7, you were 76-6. But I do remember the part of the clip where I said "Whoever wins this series is going to the finals." Luckily that part came out at least accurate, 'cause that's what we feel right now.

Spencer

Yeah, I That could end up aging very well. I think where we're at though for the 76ers, it's gonna be an interesting off-season because I think they can choose to say, "Hey, we overachieved. Let's run it back and just build on it," or they can say, "Hey this thing is We tried it again, it's still not working. We got young guards that look like they're gonna be a very good duo in the future." Do we cash out on the Joel Embiid sweepstakes right now? Do we cash out? Is it time to sell the stock? Yeah. It's not the highest it's ever been, but will it be ever as high as it is right now? I'm not sure. Eh, no. And I think there are gonna be some teams, Houston Rockets, that are gonna be looking to make some moves this off-season. I think there could be- There could be a partnership there. I don't know. Maybe if Rafael Stone still has it in his heart of hearts to be friends with Daryl Morey, who left the Rockets and that is why Rafael Stone's the GM now. But I think there also might be some bad blood between Tilman Fertitta and Daryl Morey. Maybe we don't see it, that pairing happen, but I don't know. Something to consider. Man. Just coming back to the Sixers. Man. I don't know.

James

Dude. Spence, this, I swear the last two weeks you've been on the big men musical chair. We were talking about Giannis one week, Cat next week. Now we got Embiid on the sweepstakes?

Spencer

What does that tell you?

James

Hey, man. Alperen Sengun. You better pack your bags, man.

Spencer

It was- Yeah, I think that, that seat is hot there for Alpi. But-

James

Yeah, very

Spencer

hot that's a topic, we can discuss that later in the summer. James The NBA lottery, in its final year under this format, the NBA lottery actually got it right this year, and the Washington Wizards are picking first overall. Now, that being said, they were also the team that was the most shameless in their tanking this year, making multiple trades for guys that they were going to leave out of the lineup for the entire second half of the season. Oh, yeah. And now they are rewarded with their choice of AJ Dinwiddie, Darren Peterson, or Cameron Boozer. James, how we feeling about the lottery, and what were your other reactions to some of the other teams?

James

Yo, you mention it. The other episode we talked about, okay, you can't be purposely tanking, and this last year you saw the Wizards do it. I don't know how many times the Utah Jazz sat out their whole starters for the whole fourth quarter every game of the season. And then you had the Grizzlies, who traded away Triple J to the Jazz, who were tanking. And basically with Ja on the gun rant and every other thing about the Grizzlies, they purposely all tanked, and they somehow found a way to get the job done. I'm gonna be interested in what the Jazz do in their pick just because you got Triple J and then you got Laurie, and then last year you picked up Ace Bailey. What direction are these guys gonna go? That's my biggest point. 'Cause it would be nice maybe if AJ fell to the Jazz, which I don't think that will happen, 'cause I think AJ is the number one pick for the Wizards just 'cause of the fit. I agree. So do they go Darren Peterson to the Ja- I, I don't know, Spence. I'm, I feel really, confused on what the Jazz will do just on, like, a what fits and how are they gonna do things. Another team, Spence, in my eye that, I'm And I know we can talk about this later down the line, I'm really excited for is the Hawks. The Hawks got the eighth pick. A team that really surged, after trading Trae Young, and now they, I feel like they have their identity and they can go for either best player available or they can trade that pick and actually get a guy on their team. We'll see.

Spencer

Yeah. What are the Hawks cooking over there? They get the eighth overall pick after they made a little noise in the playoffs in the first round. Yeah. They had the Knicks sweating for just a little bit. But I wanna mention another team, massive winner obviously is the Los Angeles Clippers. Kawhi Leonard is gonna get some help as they land the fifth overall pick. The Pacers' gamble fails tremendously, and now the Clippers have a chance to get Kawhi some help. Darius Garland next year, who is going to maybe be available via trade, or I don't even know he'll be back with the Clippers next year. This could be a spot. Darius Acuff, Kingston Flemings. I think it could be a good spot for one of those point guards 'cause I think the top four is pretty set. I think it's gonna be DeBonte, Peterson, Boozer, Caleb Wilson. I think that top four is pretty set. I think after that it's gonna be your choice between Kingston Flemings and Darius Acuff. And I even think- Yep Darius Acuff, of those bunch, he has actually a chance to be the fourth overall pick, I think. But-

James

Agreed

Spencer

Darius Acuff, imagine him going to LA at the fifth overall pick with the Clippers. I

James

could-

Spencer

Look, I'll say- That could be fun. That could be a lot of fun it will be fun. Maybe they won't trade Kawhi Leonard after all.

James

Ig, it will be fun. It just been, I've just been laughing over here the whole time 'cause you said "Kawhi's gonna get some help." Like they didn't pair up him and PG. Like they didn't pair up him and Harn.

Spencer

They just needed more time.

James

That's what's got me going, bro, 'cause, I will say Kawhi did ball out this year and I'm just glad, I'm glad the Clippers, did get this pick. I really do feel bad for the Pacers just because in this game, hey, in business you always gotta take risk in business. And the Pacers, by trading Sabonis and thinking they were not gonna be outside of the top f- four, yeah man, that sucks. I would say I'd feel bad for the Pacers. And, the team that traded Haliburton to the Pacers, the Kings. Those two I feel bad for. The Pacers and the Kings, man. So sorry for you. Remember the last video? I was like, "Good luck," "Sacramento next year." Damn, man. You didn't even get top four. Damn.

Spencer

Same camp as the Brooklyn Nets. Same thing happened to them. And good news is the Rockets had a chance to have that pick, and a lot of fans were upset that the Rockets traded that pick basically and punted it down. And instead of betting on the Nets to fail, they bet on more so the Suns to fail in the future. We'll see how those picks end up working out in, in the next few years. But now the Rockets can rest assure, hey, that pick ended up being the sixth overall pick, and they'll be a good player. That's, Keaton Wagler territory, Nate Amend. Mm-hmm. So there's gonna be some good players. I really like this draft class a lot. I think there's players- Oh, yeah that are gonna be good players as deep as the 15th overall pick. I think this is gonna be a good class, but it is top-heavy. So I will say this too. I think that when we go to this format next year, this new format that we mentioned in a previous video, when they go to this new format next year, this pomp and circumstance there's probably some people that are finding out that it was the draft lottery this year or that it was yesterday from us right now maybe. That's how off the radar it is. I think next year under that new format for the first year, the draft lottery is not gonna be just something that you get a notification for on your phone. People are gonna tune in for the lottery next year- Oh, yeah 'cause it's gonna be so wide open It's a 16 team lottery- Mm-hmm and it's even flat odds across the board, and there's not much disparity between the odds.

James

Mm-hmm. No, I'm with you.

Spencer

It's gonna be wild next year.

James

It'll be wild next year, 'cause I'm looking at teams that are... Like, look right now. Like, teams that are picking eight, nine, and 10, let's just say. This year it's the Hawks, Mavericks, and Bucks. Now, let's just say the Bucks don't trade Giannis, and you look at the Mavs and you look at the Hawks and it's like, these teams right now that got this pick could potentially have a better chance of getting the number one overall pick next year than they did this year. And you mentioned, one thing I wanted to come back to, Spence, you said it's top-heavy, right? You said 15 players you really like. Spence, unfortunately, out of those 15 players, one's gotta go to the Oklahoma City Thunder sitting at 12.

Spencer

Mm-hmm.

James

So Spence, man. When-

Spencer

And I'll do you one further. Not just that, depending on who you ask, someone might say, "Oh, there's way more than 15 players." Well, the Thunder have the 12th and the 17th pick.

James

When will the rain and the Thunder stop?

Spencer

They can't keep getting away with it.

James

Oh,

Spencer

man. Yeah and here's the scariest part, too, is those two picks could definitely be used in a deal to move up further in the draft if they want to. They could probably trade it for some players. There's a lot of things they can do there, and it's scary to think about. They're probably gonna win back-to-back championships and they're gonna add the 12th and 17th picks in this stacked draft class to their- Yeah already stacked roster. Oh, man. Next year they gotta foot the bill, though. They're, they... I don't know. I don't know if AJ Mitchell's gonna be a Thunder for long.

James

No. Yeah, I don't expect a

Spencer

lot of guys to- Some of these guys have to leave at some point. This factory cannot continue in OKC.

James

Yeah. You, who would've thought? Who would've thought out of all the cities right now to be cooking up a factory, it's kinda like your minor league baseball teams. I don't know where some of these teams play, but out of all cities, Oklahoma City Thunder. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, I should really say. In BFE in the middle of the States is somehow cooking up a factory. God dang it, Spence. Who would've thought, man? We went from we miss the days of Lakers versus Celtics, now everything's gotta come through- Oklahoma in these fly, these flyover states, man.

Spencer

That's where the conference runs through the West is OKC. But now that the Wizards have the first overall pick, James, does the road to the East run through Washington when we have Trey Young next year, AJ Dinwiddie, and Anthony Davis in the front court? A big three like that-

James

Like

Spencer

that runs the East James?

James

Hey, they just get another one. It's like that. No, Spence, I'm gonna be honest with you. Look, the j- the Wizards at worst should be number nine seed. They have to be the nine seed. Only reason why I'm putting them at the nine seed is because we already know the number one thing is AD's health. I've never been an AD fan. I've never been a fan of Trey Young either. Those are the two worst guys I prefer to have on my team: guy who never shows up, and a guy who's too small to play against his own food. Whatever. But when you get AJ Dinwiddie, now I like that guy. Yeah. I like that guy. That's been your

Spencer

guy.

James

I like this guy. Man, now he may not be good in the playoffs, like he was in this damn f- round one, screwing me out of my bracket. He looked

Spencer

amazing in the tournament. It's just the rest

James

of- I know

Spencer

BYU is a bunch of trash bins.

James

BYU is the... But no, and honestly- Just a bunch of

Spencer

trash bins.

James

No, I'll say this, Spence. The Wizards should be a, at least a play-in team. Seeing kinda like what the Hornets did, now it won't take that long for the Wizards to pipe it up. But then, and I would be afraid if I was like... I will say it like this, Spence. If the number one seed was the Pistons and they were playing unhealthy, Trey Young, AD, and AJ Dinwiddie in the first round, I might pick the Wizards over the one seed. That's how confident I feel if it's a best of seven. Now, if it's the Celtics with a healthy Jaylen and a Jayson Tatum, I probably won't pick the Wizards. But again, just like kinda how we thought this year, we thought the Hornets were gonna be the eighth team and we were gonna pick the Hornets beat the Pistons, that's gonna be me next year- when the Wizards are in the play-in tournament and they win the eighth seed. That's gonna be me next year.

Spencer

Speaking of the Hornets as we wrap up, I, it just feels weird looking at the top of the draft and not seeing any of the three following: the Hornets, the Pistons, or the Rockets. 'Cause it felt like every year you were getting at least one of those teams in every single lottery. And the Jazz, but hey, we know they're still up there. That's- They're still fighting the good fight.

James

They are still they, yeah, they still are fighting the good fight. I will say the Hornets I do believe they're in an interesting position. I thought last year when they drafted Knipple, I thought it was the segment to get LaMelo out of Charlotte, but they ended up really working really well together as a pair. I really wanted to see what they do at the 14th pick. I don't, I feel like they'll go big man. But we'll see. It'll be fun. June 23rd, man

Spencer

Yeah, I'm excited. That's gonna be a good day. I'm excited for this draft class to see where all these players end up. The Knicks are about to win the entire damn Eastern Conference, and it's blowing my mind how they have come this far, James.

James

Yeah, dude, I thought, Spence, this team had no shot. Didn't have the... I thought they had no physicality, I thought they had no hope against the 76ers, and I got bit in the ass so bad by Jalen Brunson, KAT, even freaking Landry Shamet, and all those guys hitting three-pointers. 11 three-pointers in one quarter. And hey, you know what? Who's ever playing a closeout game versus the Knicks, buckle the F up. Against the Hawks, you already saw what happened. And now against the 76ers. All I'm saying, Spence, are we riding the Knicks winning the finals? We know they're going to the finals. Can they win the finals?

Spencer

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm not ready to crown them against either the Cavs or the Pistons, as I think either of those teams can catch a fade with the Knicks. But I will concede that the Knicks are definitely the favored team to come out of the East right now.

James

Okay.

Spencer

I don't care who comes out of the West between the Spurs, the Wolves, or the Thunder. Whoa. Sorry, Lakers, I'm already writing you off. Sorry. Damn. Already writing off the Lakers. Do not care. Any of those three teams are going to mollywhop the New York Knicks. I don't see any of those teams having any much of a sweat over the New York Knicks. And I say that as someone who has enjoyed the Knicks, but once we get down to the postseason, all three of those teams have the ability, when the, in the playoffs, when the game gets shorter, and it's a lot less slow-paced, and it's running through Jalen Brunson in crunch time. I know he has this absolute... He has a ton of crazy clutch moments, and I'm not gonna poo poo Jalen Brunson at all. But all three of those teams just have way too much to throw at Jalen Brunson. I, uh, KAT has had an excellent playoffs, but all three of those teams defend a very well down low. It's just pick your poison. The, it's, I don't see a chance for the Knicks. But winning the East for that franchise would be massive. So hang your hat on that- It would be massive Knicks, but I'm not buying you all the way.

James

All righty, man. Hey, let's go to no huddle. Hey, Spence, we are 111 days away from college football, and of course, Spence, I found a fun fact. Did you know- alabama's last 10 full-time starting quarterbacks have either made it to the playoffs or the national championship in year one as the full-time starter? Now, Spence, Keon Russell from the Dallas area, hey, he looks like to be the number one guy for Alabama. Where do you have Alabama Crimson Tide going, to the playoffs or the national championship?

Spencer

I think for the Alabama Crimson Tide, every single season you are not just shooting to make the playoffs. You are gunning for it all. You're Alabama. I know Nick Saban's not there anymore. But it is national championship or bust every single year for Alabama. That is why we had fans, after one game of Kalen DeBoer's career, fans calling to have him be fired after one loss. This is a crazy fan base. They have a ton of resources. They have a ton of talent. They have to expect to make the championship.

James

Yeah. No, I'm with you. But, yeah, Spence, to go through kind of history, and this starts from '09. So Greg McElroy, National Championship. 2011, A.J. McCarron, National Championship. 2014, Blake Sims, playoff appearance. 2015, Jake Coker, National Championship. 2016, Jalen Hurts, National Championship. 2018, Tua, National Championship. 2020, Mac Jones, National Championship. Bryce Young, '21, National Championship. Milroe in '23, playoff appearance. And Ty Simpson last year, playoff appearance. So that's a very high pedestal, man. QB U. So Keon Russell.

Spencer

Hey-

James

QB

Spencer

U

James

hey, man. You watch out now. Hey, a lot of people will say no because of what happens in the draft, but hey, we can have this discussion down the line. We'll have to do our research. We can do that. All right, Spence, man, we keep it rolling in college football still. Now, besides the fact that I found out Ryan Day's son, who plays quarterback, committed to Northwestern. I find that a little bit odd, that your son didn't commit to Ohio State, but that's another thing. LeBron James Nepo stuff. No, I'm just kidding. I don't wanna go there. But Spence- Speak on it did you know, Spence, Northwestern, the Wildcats, they have All right. Did you know Northwestern Wildcats have an all-time winning record versus four SEC teams? Can you name those SEC teams- Oh,

Spencer

my G-

James

right now?

Spencer

As you know, I'm a diehard Northwestern Wildcat football fan. Let's just name SEC teams. Let's go with Vanderbilt.

James

No.

Spencer

Let's go with South Carolina.

James

South Carolina's one of those teams that Northwestern's record, one and 0.

Spencer

Let's go with Tennessee.

James

No.

Spencer

Let's go with Missouri.

James

No.

Spencer

Let's go with Texas A&M.

James

No.

Spencer

Texas.

James

Texas is the second team on this list that Northwestern's record, one and 0.

Spencer

Let's go with Oklahoma

James

Oklahoma, yes, is the third team on this list. Northwestern's record, 3-1.

Spencer

Need one more. Let's go with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

James

No, definitely not this time. That's all- I know I always throw some Alabama

Spencer

in there James usually pulls out Alabama Crimson Tide stats. I thought he might have a reverse Crimson Tide stat for once.

James

Yeah, reverse, uno.

Spencer

Let's go with Florida.

James

No.

Spencer

L- let's go with Georgia.

James

No.

Spencer

Let's go with LSU.

James

No.

Spencer

Arkansas.

James

No. Oh, gosh. Kentucky. 'Cause the team went blue. There you go. The fourth team on this list. Northwestern's record, 2-0. There you go, man. You named the four SEC teams that Northwestern has a better head-to-head record with.

Spencer

Yes, I knew Northwestern football history very well there, James.

James

Right. Of course. Right. Hey, there you go. Well, you do well. All right, Spence. Hey, we're gonna roll it down to the NFL. Last two subjects. Now, Spence, look, I'm a diehard Eagles fan. I love that we won the Super Bowl, two years ago. W- cool, fun. Fun, fun times, whatever. Now, somebody put up this tweet, Spence. Someone put up, "The Eagles 2024 defense should be in the same talks, in the same way as the 2000 Ravens, the 2002 Bucs, and the 2013 Seattle Seahawks." Spence, out of these four teams, where are you ranking Philly's defense from 2024?

Spencer

That was a very tough defense, man. When they lost two games at the beginning of the season, and then they basically ran the table once they were at full strength. I... But I will say, I just don't think they have the aura that those other defenses have because, small nitpick, Jalen Hurts was Super Bowl MVP. Some of those other defenses were so elite that the Super Bowl MVP that year was someone on the defense.

James

Okay, good bro, you was about to piss me... I thought you were throwing shade at Jalen Hurts for a second.

Spencer

No.

James

But- No I, but, but I caught onto what you were saying. No, I'm with you. W- you know, of course, I want to put the Eagles at number one. You slaughtered Pat Mahomes, and this and that, and blah, blah, blah. But when you think about it, Spence, you, we mentioned it, there's no... There was not as much aura. You're talking 2000s Raven, you, you got Ray Lewis in that mother You got- Super Bowl MVP

Spencer

2002.

James

Yeah, you got 2002, you got Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, and all them bad boys. Dexter

Spencer

Jackson, Super Bowl MVP

James

MVP, yeah. And then 2013, you got basically, God dang it, I forget their name. What was the nickname of- The

Spencer

Legion of Boom.

James

Yeah. 2013 Seahawks, you got the Legion of Boom, and- And guess

Spencer

what? And guess what? Malcolm Smith, Super Bowl MVP.

James

Yeah. So I'm with you on this. All three of those teams had more aura. And one thing I will add to it- All three of those teams, like w- they did not allow 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter 'cause they were blowing their teams out. Like- True the Seahawks, hey, when they put a stomping on Peyton Manning and them boys, they made sure "Hey, you not catching one lick of heat." Yeah.

Spencer

Eight points the whole game is crazy.

James

Super crazy. All right, Spence, man, last one. Hey, look, we're getting close to that fantasy lifestyle and I know you're getting ready. You're licking your chops. Let's go. Look, Mike Clay from ESPN, now, hey, he projected his top 10 passing leaders. Number one, Brock Purdy at over 4,200 yards. C.J. Stroud, number two, at over 4,100 yards. Dak Prescott, just cusping 4,100 yards. Tyler Shuck, number four on this list at over 4,050 yards. Number five, Jared Goff at 4,030 yards. Now, Spence, when you hear an ESPN guy like Mike Clay mention the top five passing leaders next year will be Brock Purdy, C.J. Stroud, Dak Prescott, Tyler Shuck, and Jared Goff, what are your thoughts on that?

Spencer

I like Mike Clay. He's not someone that's trying to be hot take-y. He is going here strictly from data. However, all of those situations are situations where we need some stuff to really go right, and I think all of those guys have good situations based on what we've seen in the off-season. But a lot of them have new variables in place. Brock Purdy, new receiving corps. No Deuan Jennings and no Brandon Aiyuk. Now you got Mike Evans and Ricky Pearsall. C.J. Stroud, not the same group of weapons he had last year. Improved offensive line, we think, but we don't know for sure yet. Hopefully the run game's better. And what was the other names? Remind me some of those.

James

Dak, Tyler Shuck, and Jared Goff.

Spencer

Tyler Shuck, great as a rookie. Ended the year as one of the best quarterbacks in fantasy football, which again, that's where we're coming from here with Mike Clay, but his second year, teams have film on him now. Mm-hmm. They might see some tendencies. He might have a little sophomore slump. We've seen it happen time and time again in the NFL. That is not guaranteed. There's a lot of those situations I'm not a huge fan of. Dak Prescott, though. I am a big fan of that one. For fantasy football, Dak Prescott is about as good as it gets.

James

Yeah. No, I'm with you on this. Looking at the top five, I only feel confident with Dak and Jared Goff in this top five. Now, of course, to round it out, Mike Clay had Joe Burrow, Matthew Stafford, Jayden Daniels, Cam Ward, and Pat Mahomes. Now- I'm, like I said, those out of the top five, I'm okay with Dak and Jared Goff. I believe they would do, 'cause you mentioned the other three, just the different variables, like what is gonna happen. If, in a perfect world, I do believe Joe Burrow and Dak will lead this list in passing, 'cause if Joe Burrow stay healthy, you already know Cincinnati gonna have to play 40 to 41 every other game. Their defense might've got a little better, so that means they gotta play 38 to 35 games now. So I believe Joe Burrow and them will be top five in passing yards. But I know in fantasy, who's your first quarterback you draft in fantasy-wise?

Spencer

It's the same every year. It is Joshua Allen.

James

Even though he's a dad, he might not be getting enough sleep. Could it be Lamar?

Spencer

Oh, no, I want that dad strength. What are we talking about? He already was strong, now he's gonna really be bulldozing fellas.

James

Oh man, I can't wait for fantasy, man. But all right, Spence, man, I'm done with No Huddle.

Spencer

I got one for you.

James

Oh, we switching to-

Spencer

Steve Kerr is the new highest paid coach in the NBA. James, you're a big fan of Steve Kerr, aren't you? This is, this is a- What was your reaction to seeing Steve Kerr turn down $7 million a year from ESPN to return to the Golden State Warriors to stay the head coach, and now he is the highest paid coach in the NBA?

James

This is a travesty to the sport. This could not have gone to a worse coach. Now, like I, I just can't believe. I'm shocked, Spence, because I did see the news, and I thought he was gonna go broadcast. Because you look at this Warriors team, and we talk about it or maybe I talk about it a lot, in the past, five, six years, you have not seen Steve Kerr develop players. He's basically been gifted Steph Curry, Klay, and Dray. And I won't even give bless with Dray, a la Austin Rivers. Mm-hmm. Put my Austin Rivers mic on and a backpack shooter. I'm sorry, I don't wanna go there. But no, I do find this, I find this bad for the Warriors, just because again, you just seen young talent go out the door, haven't been able to develop. You got an older Steph Curry. I don't care how many people he brings in the seats, he's box office. But Steve Kerr is just, I think he's way over, in over his head at this job. In my opinion, he should've just took the ESPN job, stayed by his buddy Joe Lacob and freaking Stephen A. Smith, and just chopped it up, man. Chopped it up with Kendrick Perkins and Richard Jefferson and all the guys. But I, this is a bad signing for the Warriors. I, in my heart of hearts, you should've just went a different direction 'cause you're already there. And as many rumors as I hear about you're not shopping Draymond there's no value, so you, you don't have any, you got nothing, so S- Steve Kerr, man, hey, bad choice to be with the Warriors next year.

Spencer

Yeah, I had to get your reaction on that one. I couldn't believe that w- when I saw it, but all right, James. Good episode this week. We will talk to y'all later this week. We will be dropping a new episode on Thursday, but until then, for James, I'm Spencer. Thanks for tuning in. We'll see y'all next time.
