Hi everyone, welcome back to She Builds With Heart. I'm your host, Lulva Kapadia, an industrial engineer, an entrepreneur, and a chocolate business coach, and a mother of two kids. Often, when we start our business, we are only focused on sales and we get desperate to get sales for our business, and in the process, we fail to enjoy the journey of starting the business. In today's episode, I want to cover the facts that are you facing challenges to get new leads for your business? Are you on the same platform? Are you worried from where will I get new clients? My business is only running in my close circle of family and friends. And some of us who live in tier 1 cities and big places where we don't have a big social circle, it becomes challenging to get leads for our business. And if this continues for more than 8 to 12 months, ultimately we lose our interest and we give up on our business idea. So let me just open a few windows for you. Let me just take you on a journey that before you are seeking sales for your business, what are the things and parameters you should be thoroughly prepared with? So I want to ask you a question. Do you have an organized menu? Do you have a structure or a system where with every season, with every festival, you know what is the menu that you are going to go with? Do you have a hard copy of it? Do you have a soft copy of it? Often it happens that we have so many products in mind, and anytime if any person or a client inquires us for uh like, can you help me with these chocolates? or do you bake brownies? Can you share your menu? And we think, like, okay, yeah, I can share the menu, but what is it that you're exactly looking for? And she'll say, I want brownies, a few customized, maybe with some hazelnut or something, and then you think, Okay, yeah, I can make those count kind of brownies, and then you think, figure, figure it out. You don't have any uh uh price calculations prior happening to this, and then uh you type in the chat box, yes, I can make uh Nutella brownies for you, and one piece would cost 120 rupees. And I also have the option of plain brownie and walnut brownies, but you don't have a copy of it, so you waste a lot of time in just interacting, and also if you don't send an image of your menu, the customer would lose trust because every time you you are quoting a different price to different customers, okay. Then is your social media page active? We should be able to use the power of social media of spreading our business. So, first thing, do you have a business page on social media? Is it a public page and is it an active page? Because social media needs consistency, you can't just keep posting about okay, I'm making this buy this. Social media is about educating, it's about creating a presence, it's about telling people okay, we are there in the market if you need something. So instead of doing direct marketing on social media, we should focus on doing indirect marketing. For that, consistency is really important. If you decide that three days in a week I'm going to post something on my social media page, irrespective, then make it happen. Three days in a week. You can also decide the days, okay? It can be Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. So that consistency because that is how slowly you will grow, and slowly you will start to get new leads from your city and from other cities as well. Also, now coming to the third parameter: do you have a LinkedIn profile? Often we just focus on Instagram when it comes to social media and forget about creating a business profile on LinkedIn. You should also create a strong business profile in LinkedIn and keep giving out educational stuff on LinkedIn profile and get start to connect with new people, start making contacts on LinkedIn because LinkedIn is a pro uh platform from where you can get good corporate leads as well. But you can't really push your product and ask people to buy it, you have to create an awareness about it. The fourth parameter is do you have good pictures and videos of your product? If you are into a chocolate business, so your picture should be tempting. Your picture should tell the client about what exactly the product is. So you can use your own mobile phone, but use a good light, natural day light, and click good pictures. Put use those pictures on your menu and uh try and create some small behind-the-scene videos for your product, and you know, uh just try and create good content for your product which is varied, and use it on the social media platform. Then see sales, it doesn't come when you ask people, okay, this is my product, will you buy it? Sales come when you tell a story, when people connect with your story, when they know why you are doing what you are doing, when there is consistency in whatever you are doing, you are not doing just a Diwali business, but you are doing a year-long business, and 365 days you are consistent with your product, with your quality, with your social media presence, the way you are interacting with the clients, with your preset templates, uh using the power of WhatsApp business. Are you using it effectively? Do you have a menu on that? Do you know that you can uh even like people can select the products, add it to the basket, and even make payments so it becomes your mini website, your business WhatsApp? So try creating these platforms, and when you narrate a story, you post good behind the scenes videos and pictures, organic content on social media where you are not selling, selling, but you are connecting with your audience, you are building trust, then the lead starts to come. Also, when you are posting or pitching or marketing or creating your menu, in your head you should have clarity of your target audience. Who is the target audience for which you are creating the product, and what is it that your target audience will pay? So, when you actually start to promote your product, your own in your head you are only talking to your target audience, and when you are talking to your target audience, you are hitting the right audience and you will get better leads. If you are confused in your minds, kids, adults, um, teens, corporates, events, weddings, baby showers, B2B. So, if you are confused in your head, so when you create a post on social media, it would be confusing and people would not able to be able to connect with it and relate to it, what exactly you are trying to sell, and who is actually the audience who should connect with you. So, at the end of the day, clarity in defining who your target audience is, and clarity in defining what exactly is your product that you are selling, what is the USP of your product, and why anyone should buy your product is very important. If all these factors are aligned, if all these factors are clear, your business will run and revenue will come. But revenue, sales, and numbers are all the secondary part of it. The primary part is defining clarity. So I hope this was helpful for you. How uh you are facing challenges and what what are the number of steps that you should take to define clarity so that you get better sales leads in your business. If this was helpful, you can share it with your friends and family. You can register for my free webinar on three secrets of how to build a successful chocolate business.
