Steps 1-3: Self-Awareness and Communication
Speaker 1let's go . Number one consider yourself . Look at it from the other party's perspective before jumping to conclusions . Number two remove all personal feelings . Only deal with the facts . Sometimes things are not always what they seem to be , and sometimes what you see is not what it really is . Number three avoid negative words . Remember the objective is to resolve the issue . Derogatory words seem to inflame the situation .
Steps 4-6: Addressing Issues Properly
Speaker 14 . Address one concern at a time . Addressing multiple issues can sometimes feel like an attack . Work to resolve the most important issue . Number five address the concern . Address the concern to the individual or individuals using words . Like us , we team together .
Speaker 1Make sure you use an email . This way you have a paper trail , so so if you have a question , you know exactly what was said . Number six listen , listen to the entire response , never
Steps 7-10: Proper Escalation Protocol
Speaker 1interrupt . Number seven avoid spreading the word . Spreading the word tends to create division and can cause people to choose sides . Avoid involving parties that are not involved .
Speaker 1Number eight conflict versus harassment . A conflict means to be incompatible or a simple clash . Harassment is aggressive intimidation or pressure . Know the difference . Harassment is to be taken to your superior immediately . Number nine bring in a third party . Bring in a neutral party to mediate the conversation . Now , this is done to avoid yelling or disrespect from either party . This also brings a different opinion . Be willing to listen to the other opinion . And lastly , number 10 , send a copy of the email . Send a copy of the email to an immediate supervisor or teammate and then wait for the steps on how to proceed .
