The hardest part of any meaningful pursuit isn't the work itself but simply getting started. Once you begin, you'll enter a zone where quitting becomes impossible, but first you must overcome the initial resistance.

• The real challenge is sitting down to begin, not the technical aspects like editing
• We often fill our days with distractions instead of doing what truly matters
• Fear of failure stops many from starting, but failure provides wisdom that propels you forward
• You already have everything you need to begin—no additional money or education required
• Don't worry about negative comments or judgments from others
• Improvements and skill development happen naturally through the process of doing
• What you have inside you—whether a business, song, degree, or invention—is needed by the world

Let me know what you're planning to start or if you've already begun something new. Let's be accountability partners—I'll check in to see if you've gotten started yet.

Speaker 1:

Hi, thank you for watching the Brother Musician Podcast Today. I'm going to let you in on a little secret. The hardest thing about doing this podcast is getting started. I failed so many times I do so many takes at trying to get this content thing correct. The hardest part about it, though, is actually sitting down at this seat, not the editing part. I got the content. I've been doing what I've been doing for 30 years, so I got the content. It's about just sitting down at this seat and getting started.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes, we fill ourselves with so many things to do throughout the day that we don't do the things that are really going to matter. You have something that's in your head that you know you're supposed to put out to the world, but you haven't gotten started. I just want to encourage you get started. Once you get started, you're going to be in such a zone where you can't quit. I mean, it's just a matter of you getting started. What are you doing, like right now? Like you know, you have a business inside of you, but you rather work for somebody else. I get it. I get it the stability, the independence, the. You may fail, so what if you fail? I got to say it. I say you can't tell me nothing because you haven't failed enough times, like the wisdom behind you failing or you not getting it all the way right. The experience that you got is going to propel you forward. You've got everything that you need inside of you to get started. You don't need no money, you don't need more education, you don't need anything else. You just got to take that leap of faith and get started. Get started on your business.

Speaker 1:

It's funny because I started this podcast about six days ago. I wasn't thinking that I would enjoy doing podcasts, because I remember when I first got started doing a podcast, it would take me hours and hours just to edit. Once I got into it and started really getting my workflow together, I ended up. It ended up being a shorter time and I'm producing better content At least, I think I'm producing better content. But hey, I, this is something that I enjoy doing, but I just had to get started.

Speaker 1:

Eliminate all the excuses and get started. Get started, don't wait, don't you? You don't have to go to sleep, you're not too tired, the kids are not doing too much, you is you. You just have to get started. Like, this is my podcast, I get it, but you got a podcast inside of you. You have a business inside of you. You have something inside of you that you're supposed to be doing that you just have not gotten started yet. You got a song that you're supposed to write. You got a degree that you're supposed to be working on, but you haven't gotten started. Get started, get started. The world is waiting for what you have to offer you. Probably you may even have an invention that's going to change the world. Get started and do me a favor.
