Hi guys, welcome back to Real Love Real Life Podcast. I'm your host, Jasmine.
SPEAKER_01:And I'm Ernesto. Did I say that funny? Ernesto. What do you mean? Ernesto. Ernesto. I feel like I always get like nervous and that's funny.
SPEAKER_00:You know, I actually uh watched uh heard, listened to a podcast last week, and it was so funny because right after the introduction, the girls started laughing, and I was like, that is us every single week.
SPEAKER_01:Like, why is it so hard to just like it feels like the diving board, like you're ready to live like it's just that little once we get in, we can't stop.
SPEAKER_00:But like it's like that little introduction that's just so jump in. I think you're doing it too short. Like, you gotta do it. Like, I'm I'm your host, Jasmine, and then you're gonna say, like, and I'm your host or co-host Ernesto.
SPEAKER_01:That's true.
SPEAKER_00:Don't just say Ernesto. Um, but anyways, it's your show.
SPEAKER_01:No, just kidding.
SPEAKER_00:What are we talking about today?
SPEAKER_01:You are what you think if I think that's what the actual cause is.
SPEAKER_00:You are what you think?
SPEAKER_01:You are what you think.
SPEAKER_00:I like it. I you know, I actually just posted a video kind of like that. Um, I was I was in the car waiting for Kevin to get out of school, and sometimes I don't I feel like I'm not grateful enough for like the things I have and for what I have, all that. And I just took a moment and I'm like, I was looking at my TikTok account, I was like, I have a hundred and thirty thousand followers. Like, could you like could you just like put that that's crazy like in in your head? Like 130,000 people chose to follow you. You go to Instagram, I have almost 60,000 followers. Like, that is a freaking like football stadium, which is absolutely like insane.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's crazy. That's a couple football stadiums.
SPEAKER_00:So I literally like I popped up my phone and I was like, take this from like the uh a ninth grade like dropout. Like you can do whatever. I I don't remember exactly what I said. You guys can go back to it. But I'm like, I'm like, you are whatever you think you are. Yeah. Like I I I mean, I've said it in like previous videos. I felt like I was always the black sheep of the family. I felt like cousins, like Theas kind of always like looked at me from over their shoulder, like, you know, I was just like the rebel all the time. Um and and I'm like, and and I'm here now.
SPEAKER_01:Like exactly.
SPEAKER_00:I literally I influence people, like I hate to say like I'm an influencer, but I really I influence people to do things like every day, to buy stuff, to like if I make a coffee and I post a video about it, I'll have immediately 10, 20 comments, people saying, like, okay, now I'm making a coffee. Like I influence people to do things like every single day, to you know, wear whatever they want to wear as like plus size girls, things like that. Like, it is amazing what you can do when you decide, like, I'm not gonna be what other people said I was gonna be. Like, I'm no longer like a black sheep. I'm no, I'm I'm no longer gonna like say, like, you know, I can't do it. I dropped out of high school or whatever. Like, I went to the ninth grade. And I literally go to events with like people that, or I mean, we hang out with people when we go to events that literally have their bachelor's, their masters, and like all of these crazy things. So, I mean, you kind of have to stop like doubting yourself and just go for it. And I feel like when I was little, I kind of always knew that that's what I wanted to do. Not exactly like influencing all that because that wasn't like really a thing. But I remember when like the first phones came out that had like a camera.
SPEAKER_01:You're recording yourself?
SPEAKER_00:I would record myself.
SPEAKER_01:I'm pretty sure everybody has that trait that are like big on social media when like back in the day they were all recording themselves.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, and there's actually a cousin of mine actually has a video. She had a camera, you know, those cameras that like you would open those like recorders. I got into hers one time and um I started recording myself dancing, and like till this day, like my family still makes fun of me. They're like, remember you were like shaking your shaking your butt on the camera, like when you were they probably thought I was gonna be a stripper, no, not a content creator, but like I loved recording myself. Like I didn't think of like I wouldn't think of the consequences like later, like, oh my family's gonna find it and they're gonna make fun of me. I just loved recording myself. You weren't shy, and now that I'm finally like not shy to do it, I just like I can't I can't stop. I record 20 plus videos a day.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's crazy. Literally. So whatever you think about on a daily basis, daily basis is what your world is gonna become.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:So the seeds you plant in your mind, once they sprout, depending if they're good or bad, that's that's on you.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And sometimes they won't sprout till six months, a year, a couple years. But once they do, man, I hope you planted something right because you know, that's what it starts with. Just a thought, then an action, then it becomes reality. Then like 10 years later, you're like, dang, man, that one decision has led up to all this. I'm just like, dang.
SPEAKER_00:I feel like I spent way too much time overthinking things, like doubting myself, um, you know, like saying, like, who's gonna watch me? Like who's like in the beginning.
SPEAKER_01:Um when people make fun of you, like, oh, you just got two likes, too, yeah, 35 views.
SPEAKER_00:So it's like you spend all this time like just thinking, what are they gonna say? What are they gonna think now that I'm here and I like I think back and I'm like, okay, they're obviously they're probably still talking about it, they're probably still making fun of it, they're probably, but like if I would have not cared back then, like I also try not to think of it that way. You know, you can't just like spend your life like regretting what you didn't do in the past. But I'm like, you know, I could have started my content creation journey like so long ago if I didn't spend so much time thinking I can't do it, they're gonna make fun of me. Who's gonna watch me? You know?
SPEAKER_01:You just think about what other people are gonna be like, man, they look ridiculous.
SPEAKER_00:Because like we are, we all have like that cringe start. I feel like even like influencers that I follow now that have like millions of followers, like they'll post a clip of like their very first like vlogs and stuff, and it's like yeah, came along with it, we're pulling teeth, but like now it's just you know, it becomes like so natural. So obviously, you know, you're not gonna be perfect from like the first video, even the 20th video. Like, like you said, it could take you years, months, years.
SPEAKER_01:Who knows?
SPEAKER_00:Um, and then you're really like, okay, I was like, I was meant to be here.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, exactly. So what what do you think some things how do you stay focused?
SPEAKER_00:So I'm I'm a huge like planner. I that helps me really like stay focused. Um, I love writing things down. I have a phone and yes, I could like type like all day, but I I like to literally grab like either um a marker, a pen, a pen, whatever, and I like to write down what I'm going to do the next day. I almost feel like it's not just a planner, it's like affirmations. Like, yeah, because I will put after I do like my list, like you know, this bodysuit, this, that, like all these products that I have to do on the bottom, like I will put like uh Tuesday August, so and so 20, 20 videos, uh repurposed, three videos on Instagram. Like I am, I am writing it down. And in the morning I wake up and I look at it and I process it, and I feel like I already had some time to process it the night before. Like, I don't know, that's just the way I work. I mean, same, like I have a vision board. I have a vision, I it's been two or three years that I've had a vision board, and we were looking at it last night. Yeah, I think there's only like two things left to scratch off, and it's August.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, like it's not over yet.
SPEAKER_00:It's not over yet, and I have like two more things left on there. Last year I scratched everything off on there, and I truly believe that like having whatever you want, like put it in front of you, talk about it, pray over it, like speak on it, like it's already yours. Yeah, um, a lot of people ask me like things about like my vision board and stuff, and I'm like, don't be like generic about it. Like, if you want this truck, don't go on a magazine and cut out any truck and stick it on your vision board. Like, I literally went on the Chevy website. I I literally did my Tahoe, like I spec'd it out how I wanted it. It was a Z71, it was that red, whatever that red it is. It's not like the regular red, it's this other red. Um, the leather seats, like the moon sunroof, whatever it is. Um, I spec'd it out how I wanted it. And I literally, like, as I was building it, I was visualing myself like driving the truck. And I put two, three pictures of the truck, the inside, the outside, and then I got a picture of like Chevy will give you like this like 3D thing of what it looks like if you're sitting in the truck, like how it'll look out. I did that too, and I put it on my vision board. I did it in January, and in June we got the truck. So it took six months, and I'm not saying that, like, you know, some people like laugh at like the whole vision board stuff, and they're like, okay, like that's nuts. I think if you know, you're you're claiming it, like I said, you're praying over it, you're claiming it, and you're working your butt off towards it, like it's gonna happen. There's no way that it can't happen.
SPEAKER_01:And I feel like growing up, we didn't nobody tells you how to like use the universe to your advantage, like to truly talk to God and ask him for whatever you truly want. Yeah, it's like all you really hear is just work hard, but you know, having faith is having having faith will take you farther than how you harder you can work, you know?
SPEAKER_00:Oh yeah. I'd say all the time, like especially um, we've already talked about it, like when you know you got laid off or fired that time, like when my like TikTok blew up, like genuinely, like I don't I don't think I've ever like prayed like so hard. I was already creating the content, I was already putting in the work for free, right? Because I loved it, I was having fun, but I didn't have we we weren't in a situation to just be having fun. Like I needed to get something out of it like immediately. And I talked to God about it and I was like, I love doing this, but if this is not if this is not for me, please like take it like away from me. Like I don't I don't want to be like wasting like my time on this 12 days later I have a viral video that completely changed our lives.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_00:So like don't stop like with the negative thoughts, stop with like you know, oh like who did I hear say that one time? They were like I I was born like poor, so I'm gonna die poor. And I was like, I was like, whoa, like please stay away. There is just no way.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, the broke mentality.
SPEAKER_00:I want to do everything different from the way that I grew up, from the way that I saw people around me growing up, like the total opposite.
SPEAKER_01:Yes, like we we can all be poor, but bro having like a broke mentality, yeah. You can come from nothing but you know, do something with your life and get out of poverty, get out of whatever situation you're in, you know. But that broke mentality of you know, it is what it is.
SPEAKER_00:Your tongue is so powerful, like you gotta be careful. Literally, you have to stop saying like the words, I'm broke, I'm tired, I'm this, I'm that. Like, like stop because you're literally like claiming that over your life.
SPEAKER_01:Like, be grateful for whatever you have, you know. If you got a little hoopty, yeah, even if you gotta walk and walk, take the bus, hey man.
SPEAKER_00:How many people can't walk there? And like you know, some people be like, oh my god, like how corny or whatever, but that's literally like all it's about. You change your mentality, and everything around you, you're like you're going to start seeing things so different, and then things just start getting so much better.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, so before you went viral, like on a daily basis, like it took two years for you to blow up, right? Yeah. And obviously, there's days where you're just like, man, this ain't working. Like, what would you do to like shut that out right away? Because like fear and you know, that could creep in real quick, be like, man, this I'm like you said, I'm just wasting my time.
SPEAKER_00:I feel like the negative thoughts can come in so fast, and you don't even like, you know, you're not expecting it, and then next thing you know, you just want to throw everything in the trash. You don't want you don't want anything to do with it. But like I said, I really enjoyed it.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:I really like I loved it. I love like I love hitting record even now, even now that I'm so like used to it. Um, like I love hitting the record button. I love recording myself. And I'm not gonna lie, you guys call me whatever you want. I love re-watching my videos.
SPEAKER_01:You enjoy it?
SPEAKER_00:I like rewatching my videos. Um, you know, I'm like, oh, I could have done like this better. Oh, I'm gonna do this again, like with another video. I'm gonna do this again on my other account. Like that, like that's truly like the love that I have for it. But I think to your question, like back when, you know, I wasn't like making any money out of it, it's I feel like I'd be on a roll, like recording, you know, days. Like, I'm I'm like, oh my god, it's been like seven days that I've been like posting three videos a day. And then like you hang out with somebody that you know will make like a little joke out of it or you know, say something like completely unnecessary. And then you're like, yeah, I don't know if like this is for me. So like I don't know if you remember like that time that um somebody told me, we're not gonna say the name, um, but we were having dinner and and that person was like, um, I was so excited, I was sharing like with you know who who we were having dinner with that I had reached um, I think it was 10,000 followers. Again, I wasn't getting paid yet. I wasn't on TikTok shop, none of that. Um, but I had been consistently posting my recipes, all of that. So I was so excited, and I mentioned that I had hit 10,000 followers, and and she did like this like ugly like little laugh, and she chuckled and and was like, and how much do you get paid? And and I said nothing, and she did like a like like dude, like what the heck are you doing? That I couldn't I couldn't stop playing, like I wouldn't tell you about it, obviously, but that lived rent-free in my head for weeks. Dang, like I was replaying her, like chuckle like that, and I was like, I'm silly. I'm silly for thinking that you know I could be an influencer, a content creator, but then you go back to the comments, and you know, you have people thanking you for your recipes. Um, you have people saying, like, okay, we need more of this content. You have people saying, Hey, can you do this next? Hey, can you go here? Um, I mean, remember that time that uh follower, um, I still remember her, Adri, she sent me a$25 Chipotle gift card because she's like, I love watching you eat. She was like, Here's$25. I hope it's enough. Please record a video eating Chipotle.
SPEAKER_01:That's crazy.
SPEAKER_00:And that, I think that was like kind of like right after that, like that like remark about like how much do you get paid? And I was like, there is a stranger in another state that all she knows about me is what I post. Yeah, and she sent me a gift card to a restaurant.
SPEAKER_01:But like going back to that person, that just showed you the lack of faith that person has.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. I mean, I I don't talk to that person, I don't have any like relationship and I don't want to.
SPEAKER_01:Um, but yeah, that that's like it's crazy how there's people like that, like so pessimistic, and then versus you go into the real world and you're like people are like, man, you know, they help facilitate you, you know, achieving more. And people are like there just like smirking and like pathetic.
SPEAKER_00:Now that I'm here and you know, I've met like so many amazing people, like you know, in my content creation journey, I've been to so many events, and um, I look back and I'm like, I can't believe that I ever let people like that that have been in the same position for 10 years plus.
SPEAKER_01:Um like, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:I can't believe I let people like that put me down when I've been in a room with millionaires. You too. We've we've been in meetings with, you know, we can't say his name, but like we were in a room with a guy and his wife, they're freaking millionaires, and they want like they're literally like interviewing me and they and they want to like c collab and do all of these things. Um then we go to these events, and you know, we were with other creators, creators that have millions of followers, and I'm like, I'm here and you're there, and I can't believe that you let me like you put me down like that at some point.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, it's just how how it is. But again, that's their it tests you too how bad you want something. So you cut you gotta thank people like that, people that persecute you because they're the ones that lay out the red carpet for you to be blessed. Yeah, they throw dirt on your name, but luckily that's you know what's gonna help grow that flower and blossom something. Yeah, they put fertilizer in it, but yeah, it's just crazy. So whatever you think, man, you really truly become. And I feel like now I look back, I'm like, man, like the when I used to drive to work to like heal a band and stuff like that, you know, for an hour I'm just listening to YouTube videos of like, you know, motivational speakers, yeah, just like you know, knowledge, wisdom. And uh, you know, most people will probably laugh at that, but I'm just like, you're just feeding your mind, you know, you're become more becoming more mentally resilient. And I'm like, you talk to older people and then they're like they kind of appreciate how you are. They're like, man, you got a good head on your shoulders, versus you try to talk to people your age about stuff like that, and they're just like, Yeah, bro, whatever. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:You know, let's talk about, you know, let's talk about what where I'm gonna go this weekend or something like that.
SPEAKER_01:Like, yeah, so I'm just like, you know, you you truly gotta, you know, be careful on what you consume, you know. If it's a whole bunch, if it's a whole lot of nothing, man, it's gonna do nothing for you, you know. So it's like whatever you feed your mind is gonna be reality, and yeah, people think it's not real, you know, manifestation and all that, but it's like you just look at our stories and you just see the works of God, and you know, I think that's why you go through those, through those, you know, tough times, you know, all those trials and tribulations, so you can see the miracle being worked, you know. You're like, how? The only question is just the higher power, you know, and you know what I mean? And perfect example of you know how you went viral, we're going through it, and then boom. But just being resilient, yeah, uh feeding your mind good thoughts, you know, planting good seeds, and you know, that's the difference between people, you know. People will rather try to survive than create the reality, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Or they're so scared, again, like how I was of getting made fun of and things like that. And and now I'm like, who gives a shit? Yeah, like either way, like either way they're gonna talk. If you have a hundred followers, if you have a million followers, like there's always going to be those people that always have something to say. And the thing is, is that we can't control what you know how others think, their negative minds, and and the negativity that they put out in the world. The only thing that you have control over is the way that you take it. Yeah, like I wish that I wouldn't have um, you know, like that that time that we were having dinner and like she made that like comment. Like, I wish that I wouldn't have took it so personal because I think that I stopped like making content for a few days after that. Like I was bummed out, and then that was when like the girl sent me the gift card and I was like a little motivated again, and you know, things like that. So that got me back on, and I'm like, that was like three days of like content like that could have got me like further, and I and I took a step back because of what somebody else had to say, like it and at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. She's not in my daily life, like she's irrelevant, she's so irrelevant, and you know, you're proud of me, the kids are proud of me, and that's really all that matters.
SPEAKER_01:But look at there's nobody that watches you more than your haters. Oh so it's like you're you're laughing and making remarks, but yet you're making fake accounts to watch you. Exactly, make it make sense, exactly. But hey, that's why you gotta, you know, do good so you can show them, show them the works of the higher power and be like, man, just like he said, he will prepare you a table in the presence of your enemies. So you just gotta keep doing you. Everybody's you know has their own gift, everybody's a special individual. And um sometimes it takes another individual to, you know, bring back that spark in somebody. You know, a lot of people's light is them. Sometimes we gotta help brighten that up. Yeah, you know, everybody's truly special, but there's there's gonna be haters, but that's just a great balance, you know. Your overachiever. Well, guess what? For your overachieverness, if that's a word, there's an underachiever. So you know that's just how the world works, and you know what I'm saying? They're gonna watch you, they're gonna talk smack, but you just gotta keep keep doing you and be yourself. Yeah, they just hate you because they can't be themselves.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, you could literally change your like entire life. You have to stop focusing on what people are gonna say, what people are going to think. Um, our friends, Lynette and Angel, they've been like really like on my mind lately. Um they're going to the Philippines in a few days. Shout out to them. Follow Lynette and Angel, Barrio's babes. Um they're going to the Philippines so and like after like all that they've been through, and obviously not gonna tell their story because I'm hoping that they can get on the show with us and we're gonna let them tell the story, but like they are also the perfect example um of what you can do when you set your mind to it, when you put your faith in God. Like, again, like I said, I'm not gonna say much about them, but like go and like check them out. Literally, like you are going to be so mind blown. Like their story is just it's so powerful. I mean, just like ours, and and there's so many other people, right? Um, I think you just have to change your mindset, um, and you can do so many amazing things.
SPEAKER_01:Yep, exactly. So you just you gotta really be careful, you know, and always strive to be better, you know. Yeah, reflect, man, I messed up here, I gotta do this better. But it's also we have to seek people that are better than us as well. You know, we can do a lot of stuff ourselves, but you know, older people have more experience, you know, they're more educated, more have more knowledge. So sometimes we need mentors in our life and help people steer us in the right direction, you know. Yeah, you have to network as well, you know. It's there's a lot to it. It's just you know, being like a competent adult, um it takes a lot to it. It's not just, you know, um working hard and providing a roof over uh a roof for your kids, you know. You gotta, you know, talk to them good, you know, and don't be uh be slow to anger, you know. You don't want to just be baiting them, you know, but you gotta discipline them to a certain degree. So it's like, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00:I think right now that you said like you know, you you have to like network and stuff, I think um, I think that that is so huge. Yeah, that's that's a huge you do not know, like you the doors that you can open by like showing up somewhere, meeting someone, like so many things you learn, you can learn so many things from different people. Like I can say that I could tell you something about every single event that I've gone to that has like stuck with me. Yeah, and I think this la the last one that we had, like when we went to Miami, like I met like so many good people that shared so much like good information.
SPEAKER_01:Nobody's gatekeeping, huh?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, like I was literally telling you about something like yesterday, um, about somebody that we met in Miami, and I used like her resources, like stuff that she shared with me, I used it. So I'm like, that is the power of networking. If I would have never gone to that event, if I wouldn't have showed up, if I wouldn't have been a social little butterfly, like I wouldn't have had that valuable information. So, and back then, if you would have told me go in that room, there's 200 people in there, walk around.
SPEAKER_01:Not only that, for me showing up too, I got I was able to go and member.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, that too.
SPEAKER_01:So just show up, guys.
SPEAKER_00:Show up show up. You don't know like what's waiting for you. So that showing up, meeting people, you just you don't know. Like it could literally change your life.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's why. Um speaking of showing up, I kind of forgot the story a little bit, but what one of the motivational speakers I used to listen to, his name's Les Brown. And I think back before you know he made it, he wanted to be like a disc jockey or whatever on the radio station. It's like the ones that change, I think, the music on the radio. Okay, and uh I think he used to go every single day, seeing if they're hiring. Every day, no, we're not hiring, no, no, until one day I think somebody didn't show up there, and boom, he had an opportunity. Oh, and it's like, man, you just gotta keep knocking. Yeah, keep knocking till you make a way.
SPEAKER_00:Like that's literally it. I love that. I love that. I saw a post yesterday, it was it was a picture, and it said, um, the water didn't break. What was it? It was like the water didn't break the rock. It was like the consistency of like the water like hitting the rock until finally, like, it started making a dent in it, and then eventually it broke in half. That's literally what you're saying. Like, you keep knocking, yeah, and like doors will open. And back to like everything, you know, the vision board, writing stuff down, like that, like that is just like that's just a little bit of it, but like get up, do it every single day. Like I did. I literally recorded and posted content for two years, didn't make a dime out of it.
SPEAKER_01:Not one.
SPEAKER_00:And then, and then you go from that to like literally, like it's your full time job. It's your full time job, by the way. That that has been on my vision board for two years now. Yeah, and that's it. Like, it's my full time job.
SPEAKER_01:Wake up and you see it every day.
SPEAKER_00:I wake up and I see it. Social media is my full time job, I have it engraved in my head so. Social media is my full-time job.
SPEAKER_01:And that's and it became a reality.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Literally. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_00:Like, like, stop with like the next. Obviously, we're not perfect. I have my days. I threw a little fit right now when I was getting in the car coming here because I was sweating.
SPEAKER_01:Sweating is hot. It was in the desert.
SPEAKER_00:I was sweating. It was hot in the desert. Sweat.
SPEAKER_01:It's 110 outside. What's your channel?
SPEAKER_00:Kids are like, mom, can you make me a sub before you go? I have to be in the car in like 10 minutes. And I'm overstimulated. So, like, you know, obviously stuff happens. Sometimes I get a little crazy. A little crazy. Um, but at the end of the day, you know, I'm I'm grateful. I'm I write my stuff down. I have my little vision board. I like I manifest these things and I work my butt off for them. Like it's change your freaking mentality.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, it's and I think I think universally, that's what everybody concludes to every religion, every race. They're like, you are what you think.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:I I I think Marcus Aurelius is the one who said it, a man is what they think it. I think he's the one who actually quoted that. Somebody fact check me in the comments. But yeah, it's like everything you feed your mind is what truly becomes reality. Why do you think people that are so negative just more bad stuff keep happening? Yeah. They're like, what could go? It's like Murphy's like, it's like, what else could go wrong? And then something else, you're just like, this guy can't catch a break, versus the guy that's, you know, high frequency, vibrating, right? You're just like, man, everything he touches turns to gold.
SPEAKER_00:So I have a little, a little quick story about that. You just said, you know, when people are so negative and they're like, what else can go wrong? And then boom, something else goes wrong. So I I I have someone in my family, I guess. Um the girl can't catch a break. The girl cannot catch a break. But when I hop on Facebook, the the stuff she shares, the memes she shares are just like I'm just like, ew, like that's not even funny. Like I scroll because I'm like, I'm not claiming that over my life. Like, just negative memes. She's always like saying negative stuff, and literally the girl cannot catch a break. And every time, like that I have a conversation with a family member, they always like bring her up and they're like, Poor thing, like you now she's going through this, now she's going through that. So recently, um, I talked to my sister, and then she's like, Oh, did you did you hear about this? Like, um she got pulled over, and when she got pulled over, she called her son crying, so she panicked him, and then he got in a car accident.
SPEAKER_01:Oh man.
SPEAKER_00:And he's on house arrest. Oh. So he shouldn't even have been driving in the first place. And I'm just like, like, my I told I told my sister, I was like, I I was like, I can't like you can't make this stuff up. She's literally claiming all of this negativity like into her life all the time.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:With the like with the little memes, and she's sharing these things, and and she's sharing like really negative stuff, like on her statuses, and I'm just like, girl, like maybe if you changed your attitude a little bit, like you it wouldn't, it wouldn't be this way so much. So that's just my little thing. Like, again, all goes back to like she probably wakes up in the morning and it's just like I'm gonna go have a terrible day. Well, guess what? Yes, the fuck you are. Like, so change your mindset.
SPEAKER_01:Not only that, it's who you hang out with too.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:The people if you're hanging out with negative people, you're gonna be the next negative person. Yeah. And it's like, man, I like perfect example at work. There's this one guy, he just has the worst attitude in the world, and it's like, man, if if we didn't have a lot to lose, I would have done whooped your ass already, dog. Like, you're lucky this ain't back in the day, homie. I would have smacked you up. But it's like horrible attitude, and everybody that works with him has a gets like the same attitude of not giving a damn. They're just standing around at work, they feel entitled. I'm just like, man, who do you think you are? Get your ass to work.
SPEAKER_00:Like, yeah, and see, like you said, they're hanging out with him.
SPEAKER_01:And everybody around that circle, they're just getting dragged down. And guess what? Once it's time for layoffs, I hope you're the first one to go.
SPEAKER_00:And they will. Like that attitude and that mindset, and then the people hanging around with him, like that's why you have to, like, as adults, like, we need to know better. Like, my little, my little negative Nancy detector is like on point all the time. Like, I'm staying away.
SPEAKER_01:I'm about to hit 30 years old. Like, that's what I was telling my other coworker. Like, hey, I'll respect to the dude, but I'm like, he has nothing going for himself. I'm like, Yeah, like I don't know, you guys like are all on his Johnson. Like, the dude's not like dude's an apprentice, like, second-year apprentice, like, homie ain't even making cheddar yet. Like, yeah, but he feels like he's all that in a bag of chips. Boy, sit your ass down.
SPEAKER_00:Well, yeah, I mean, don't don't hang out with him.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's why I was like, you gotta a lot a lot of people now, too, you gotta lead by example. A lot of people are gonna be like, man, this food's crazy over here, you know? Nobody's looking and he's still working hard. And I'm like, hey.
SPEAKER_00:Well, I'm gonna.
SPEAKER_01:What you guys do in the dark comes a light, man. Exactly. I was like, you guys think you guys are over here getting away with this, standing around, not doing stuff. I was like, the guys with experience know you guys are just dicking around. You guys are just well, and then when they do get laid off, they're talking shit or trying to fight the foreman that gave them the check. Like, no, dude, you did it to yourself.
SPEAKER_00:Yep.
SPEAKER_01:Like, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00:And that's the way it works, like, everywhere, not just in construction, literally everywhere. Like, you do good, like you get good.
SPEAKER_01:And if you don't, then it's like if you see people doing good, man, you gotta go, you gotta be around that. You gotta be like, hey, hopefully, some stuff sprinkles off on me.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, that's why I'm I'm so grateful. Like when, you know, I was living with my sister and stuff, I was like, she mentioned it to me too. She's like, Jasmine, you know that, you know, you're like the I think like the three or the five people closest to you. And I was like seeing them every day, and they're very, you know, they're smart, they're educated, they're very responsible, they're on their stuff, like, you know, they're in their early 30s, house paid off, cars paid off, like they're doing so good. And I'm like, I like that's exactly where I had to be. Like there's a little bit of that did sprinkle on me because you know, I was doing terrible. And you have to start like you gotta start looking like You gotta be like, man, I need to get it together. Like, if if your life is just going like that bad, you really have to look around too and be like, okay, let's let's start cleaning some stuff up, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And it just it it doesn't it doesn't happen overnight, just put one foot in front of the other, yeah, and that's it. Exactly. Persevere, and it's like anything in this life that's worth achieving, it's gonna be hard. The best views are always the toughest climbs.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Like literally. And I'm like, hey man, you just just gotta be optimistic, have faith. What do they say? What walk by faith, not by what? Sight, something like that.
SPEAKER_00:Something like that.
SPEAKER_01:But yeah, guys.
SPEAKER_00:But I like, I actually think the topics that you pick are really good topics. So we're gonna let him pick more often. But with that, you guys, we will wrap up today's episode. That was so much fun. Yeah, see you next week. Love you bye.
