Done, we're recording. Oh, fantastic. We've got Jane in the office with us today.
SPEAKER_01Hello, Jane.
unknownHello everyone.
SPEAKER_00Ah, there we go. Hello everyone. She's a bit shy.
unknownYeah, there you go.
SPEAKER_01But new new equipment then, Kelly. So uh very uh very kindly um supplied by our marketing department. Correct. Little bit of um struggles getting it there though.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so we ordered it from a a very reputable organisation that we've dealt with before. By the way, the phone might go off because we're actually sat at our desks, just to let anybody know that. But we bought it from a reputable establishment, and they gave us the option to get it delivered to the post office in Southampton, which I thought was better because we might not be here. And so we went with that and the post office delivered it to the post office, yeah, and the post office that were receiving it rejected said delivery and sent it back. So then we had to wait for it to make it back to the mainland sorting office and get sorted back, and then they resent it. And then when they eventually sent it, uh they sent it without the SD card that we needed to record it to. So but here we are.
SPEAKER_01So are we naming and shaming or are we not going there to our many followers?
SPEAKER_00It depends whether they're gonna give us something free. We can do it with some headphones.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we could do it some headphones. BACs.
SPEAKER_00Bax UK or dot com or I can't know what it what it is.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, some new headphones would would uh be really nice.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because we've got one and and like we get on, but I don't really want to be cheek to cheek like a lady in red with you. No. Well, maybe yeah, so that's that really. So hopefully this is coming out okay. I'm looking at the little faders, the little LEDs, and I'm clearly talking more than you. So I'm gonna stop and uh give it to you.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. So um well, I I like to ask questions really. Yeah, yeah. Oh yeah. So Kelly, uh I mean it's been a while. Like so and now we've got the new equipment and uh we're back up and running. Tell me what's going on. Let's talk, let's talk work first, shall we? And then we'll go we'll go personal life after. Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So we've got so within the group, there's loads going on. There is so the bit that has probably well it has come out now in the in the press is that we've uh adopted, taken on board a very reputable estate agency in the Crown Dependencies. Yeah, and I can't remember the name of it. Lawson's there you go, yeah. Thank you. And but no longer is it gonna be called that, it will be Cherry Goffrey Properties. Yeah. So the rebrand is going. Oh, sorry, go on.
SPEAKER_01No, I was gonna just gonna say, and um, yeah, the rebrand, yeah. I was gonna talk about the rebrand. And the slogan as well. Very clever slogan, play on word. Property that you value. Good, very good, yeah. Yeah, it's good. Yeah, if you think because it's we normally do finance that values you. So um, so yeah, so Mawson's Estate Agency. Cool. Um, but obviously now not no longer Mawson's Estate Agency, Cherry Got Free Property.
SPEAKER_00Yeah property that you value. So yeah, so all exciting things on the radar. Yes. Uh in the well, it's happening now, so it's not even in on the radar, it's actually happening now.
SPEAKER_01Did you see the pictures of the new branded on the building as well? Or over LinkedIn? No, I didn't. Oh, it's fantastic. Oh, really? Yeah, yeah, it looks really good.
SPEAKER_00Because we've got a new colour scheme for that, and we're blue. Yeah, like a dark blue. Yeah. Yeah, it looks really smart. So yeah, so that's good. I think we've still got the little Cherry Goffrey pac-man. We do, yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. So um that we've that sort of is is everywhere that we that we operate. But yeah, so that's really exciting. With regards to us within Southampton, yeah, it's all pretty good, I think. So got the next Cherry Goffrey networking event coming up at the end of March. As we speak, this is the third of March when we're recording this at our desks. So three weeks. 2.42 in the afternoon, in fact. Correct. Splendid. And we and in 18 minutes, Jane's gonna go home. Yeah. Are you Jane? Are you going home or you got something else to do?
unknownGoing to the gym.
SPEAKER_00Going to the gym. So, yeah, so off to the gym. Fabulous. That's good. Been working out. Been working out. Reminds me of a joke. Yeah. How do uh what do constipated accountants do? Work it out with a pencil.
SPEAKER_01I think that can definitely be left in.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so that's all good. Insurance is all good. I went to a lovely networking event last week as well. A new one for Southampton. But we'll talk about that because we might get them in at some point, maybe to have a chat. That was really good. Nice group of people, and we've got a few meetings coming off the back of that as well. So that's really nice. Yeah, that's good. A little bit of work on the Isle of White as well. So I think we've just uh signed up to do or agreed to do another charity golf event over at Westridge and Ride on the island, so that's really nice. That's for charity. Yep. So that's uh I think you and I are gonna play in that with our boys. Yeah, that'll be very exciting. I'm looking forward to that. Yeah, it'd be really good. So that's good. What about you?
SPEAKER_01Well, a lot of activity, shall we say? The activity's good. Okay, so we just just be going out just to let the brokers know exactly what we're looking for, just to refresh them, really, because it's great that they're thinking of us, but sometimes we just need to just dial down to what we actually are looking to help with. But quite a number of um personal loans like coming through, so that's nice to see. And we've been helping people out. Save somebody £890 a month, the other Wowza.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, could you save me £890 a month? That'd be handy.
SPEAKER_01Potentially, Kelly. I can do magical things.
SPEAKER_00I know that, but yeah. Um I interesting story. What we're talking about £890 a month.
SPEAKER_01No, no. Well, good, but it's not a second.
SPEAKER_00I uh suggest that anybody that has gotten into the habit of going out and having coffee, going out and having lunch, going out to a cafe or a restaurant or a bit more regularly than they than they used to, that they check their bank account to have a little bit of a sense check on it. Because I did that at the end of February and was absolutely horrified about how much money my wife and I spend. We take our boy out as well, but how like how much we spend with either lunches, cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, takeaways. Yeah, it blew my mind. And I was like, actually, I can't really afford that, but we're still spending it. So, yeah, a bit of an eye-opener.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it's really important. I mean, a little financial health check, really, isn't it? Just to see what where you're spending your money. A lot of um like mobile banking apps will do that for you.
SPEAKER_00It's exactly what happened with me. Okay, yep, yeah, it's really good. And it gave me the insights into what I'd spent, and that absolutely I never checked that, but I could never really understand why I had no money left at the end of the month, and now I get it. Yeah, so yeah, so that's not great. No, and my wife's exactly the same. So, yeah, but so that was a kind of a good, like genuinely run a bit of a sense check, yeah. A little bit of sensible in the middle of our little podcast.
SPEAKER_01No, it's a very valid point, and it's really quick. I'm sure most other banks do it, but yeah, NATO does have a spending where you spend your money. Like I mean, it's not telling people to stop enjoying life, is it like but it's just like you say, it's just maybe one less coffee.
SPEAKER_00Well, I realised I spent more in that month than I spend on my bills. Oh wow, okay.
SPEAKER_01However, you talk about takeaways doesn't mean I want a takeaway today.
SPEAKER_00I know, but you're not eating today. I haven't. Because you are a specimen. Well, I wouldn't go that far by I'm trying to lose a bit of weight. I know, yeah. I don't think you need to. But fair play. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But 36-inch waist tells tells a different story. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I have no sympathy for you. But yeah, so anyway, just a kind of a bit of a sort of an interesting segue, sort of related to what we do. Yeah. What about you, Jane? Anything exciting to talk about? No. Okay, that's good, quick and painful. Yeah. Thanks for having me. Quick and painful. Yeah, there you go. Instant input. Thank you, Jane. Well, personally, then, can I? Personally, what have we done?
SPEAKER_01Oh, haven't you um got books to go somewhere?
SPEAKER_00What for concert? Yeah. Yeah. So my beautiful wife and beautiful son are fans of Bruno Mars. Excited. I took my wife to see Bruno Mars at Hyde Park several years ago, but we did not take our son. He has really I don't know where he was, I think it was like three, so yeah. But he is playing a world tour, he's just released a new album. And so couldn't get tickets. I was on pre-sale, couldn't get them, but I did I could obviously. You can always get them if you're prepared to pay the money. Oh, yeah, for sure. So I got them on resale, took a deep breath and hit the button and bottom. And uh yeah, so we're going on the I think it's the 18th of July to Wembley Stadium, and our son's never been into Wembley Stadium before, so that'd be pretty cool. Oh, amazing. Yeah, it'd be good. So yeah, it's good.
SPEAKER_01What about you? Well, you'd be saving uh all your money back on from not buying a coffee, so you'd be fine. There's a few coffees, mate. I'd say well that mate, uh try to play a bit of golf. Yep, still got it, right? Modest as well, confident. Oh, confident, okay. That's the word you're gonna use, is it?
SPEAKER_00Okay, it's not the one I'd choose, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01And then uh George has just got back from a skiing trip to Andorra. Yeah, nice. Saw the pictures amazing. He's uh he had one ski lesson, right? And I think he gets his dad's confidence because he was telling me how great he was at it. Right. Right, but he was, wasn't he? We're probably doing quite well, so he's one of those annoying children that just pick something up and my son's like that, yeah. So, but no, he had a fantastic time, so it's his first proper school trip away. That's cool. So we all remember that, don't we? Yeah. Where was yours? Mine was I went to it was in Aachen in Germany. Yes.
SPEAKER_00You got something in your throat?
SPEAKER_01No, Aachen. Oh, okay. Aachen, A A C A G N. I got an A in German G C S E Kelly.
SPEAKER_00No, it's great stuff. She's not taking part, but she's sort of taking part.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I got an A in German G C S E, so gut at Deutsch.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. All I know is Ichlieberich and uh Volkswagen. Volkswagen. Porsche.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Porsche, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I've got a Mercedes-Benz. Oh, very good. Excellent.
SPEAKER_01Do you know the one of the one of the main words that I used to always remember? Yeah. It's not rude. Oh, yeah. It's from my German oral exam. And it was uh because I wanted to be in the REF when I was younger. And it was the Königflugelkeiten. What does that mean? It means the Royal Air Force. Yeah, but but I just f always remember it because it's quite a fun word to say, the Königflugelkeiten. That is. Yeah. If you pop a German accent with it, Königflugelkeiten Wanna do a German accent. Yeah, the accent's.
SPEAKER_00I love your accent. For those of you that have not met John, well, shame on you. But his accents are second to none, without a doubt. They are literally, I don't know anybody who can do accents like John. You don't know which accent they are.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, yeah, I I give it my best shot. I put my heart into everything that I do, you see.
SPEAKER_00So that is that is not incorrect in any way. No.
SPEAKER_01So that's good. I can't remember what we do.
SPEAKER_00No, we said how impressive they are. I I I don't know about you, Jane, but I said I don't know anybody who can do an impression quite like John can.
SPEAKER_01No, I think I can back that up. Yeah, there you go, thanks. There you go. Thank you very much. Second to none. Second to none. Second to none. Yeah. I can't remember what we're talking about. Uh school trips. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. So I went to Germany, so I did the whole um trenches and like all of that sort of stuff. Like so um that was obviously as a kid that you just can't comprehend it, but getting to see it first hand's quite quite an important thing. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. So but yeah, that's basically anything else we've been doing. No, not really. Dog walks, the usual sort of stuff. Um I'm going to um Wales in April. Very nice. To Barry Island.
SPEAKER_00Oh when you're in Barry Island, there is a Do you want an omelet? See, everybody. The best Brazilian accent I've ever heard. I like uh Who's Court is that jacket? Who's got Is that Jacket? Yeah not bad, I'm getting good.
SPEAKER_01But did you understand the omelet reference?
SPEAKER_00Oh, you're talking about omelets? Yeah, when I said do you want an omelet? Yeah, I got it. Yeah, I got it, mate. It's very good. When you go to Barry Island, I've not been. No. But apparently, somewhere around there, there is the only it's the only one in the UK. Right. There is a I can't think of the name of it now. A Denny's. Oh right, okay. So have you ever been to America? No. Okay. So if you go to America, all over the place, a bit like we used to have little chefs. They have a thing called Denny's. Yeah, okay. There's like a chain of these kind of restaurants, and they do like pancake stacks. Like a Winpy. Sort of, but way better. Yeah. And I've been to the States a fair few times, and every time I love a Denny's. The American slate Denny's. Oh, do they? But they all go there. Yeah, yeah. And they go there on a Sunday morning and they all like smash the food. Pancakes. Yeah, there's big jugs of syrup on the tables everywhere, and like it's really good. And they decided to open one near Barry Island. It's the only one outside of America, I think. We'll have to try and go. So if you can find it, go there.
SPEAKER_01Do you know? Um Stacy used to uh she went out to see her her one of her best friends moved from Wales to go and live in Canada. She went and stayed with them for a few months, and she got really into Tim Hortons, like a coffee shop. Oh, I don't know anything. And one day we were driving back from Chichester and they had a Tim Hortons, so we had a Tim Hortons. She was like, oh that takes her back. Yeah, that's nice, I like that. But it's nice to be back, isn't it? Nice to see me and you.
SPEAKER_00Joking aside, it is fab being back doing a little bit of this with you because it kind of makes the when like the days can be sometimes a little bit dull every now and then. Actually not very often, but but when they are doing stuff like this, is like something to look forward to, isn't it?
SPEAKER_01It is, yeah. I think um but I think it's nice because we're gonna have a chat, we're talking about what Cherry Godfrey and what they're up to, how we're helping. Yeah. Just uh and and exciting like things like the Cherry Godfrey property.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think that's gonna be amazing. It absolutely will be. So, and that's the first of many exciting things I think that you know, keep em peeled, as they used to say on police something. You won't remember that because you're like seven years old. But do you remember that, Jane? No, please camera. Please chemarch. Police five? Yeah, no it was a guy called Sean Taylor, and he used to say keep em peeled at the end of the show. It was good. Keep him peeled. I remember that, keep 'em peeled.
SPEAKER_01Maybe that needs to be the slogan at the end.
SPEAKER_00Oh, maybe it was Crime Watch. I'm sure the next time we have one of these we may have a little bit more structure. Actually, we probably won't we.
SPEAKER_01No, I just think it's important. It's good to have a chat.
SPEAKER_00But I quite like the fact we've been able to do this in our office. Yes. Like I'm sure it will still sound like an excellent podcasting recording studio. Yes. That is the gift of AI. We've got a little button on here which I have depressed. Yeah, very nice. Which is AI mode for background noise reduction.
SPEAKER_01I yeah, well, that is cool. But also on there, I believe you can press a button and make some like cool like sound effects.
SPEAKER_00You can if you record them into it. So if we get some little like, you know, like sounds or something like that. Yeah, or like a something like that, yeah. We can record it, like save it as a file, and then particularly as it usually sits in front of me, when you're in the middle of a really deep and meaningful conversation, I can just go, maybe don't let me hear it when we've got like a charity visitor. What do you mean? Oh my goodness. Yeah, so there you go. Is what it is, it's all good stuff. Hopefully, this will sound great. I'm sure it will. It's gonna take about 26 hours of cutting it down to make it fit a minute long. But yeah, thank you very much.
SPEAKER_01Enjoyed it. Thanks, Kelly. You too.
SPEAKER_00Cheers, buddy.
SPEAKER_01Cheers, mate. Bye. Bye bye.
