Welcome to our third week of our Easter Sermon Series where we take a look at "The Power of the Cross!" In today's sermon, we go back to the beginning in Genesis. Patrosky explains the theology of sin, and how paid the price for us on the cross.
FYI We had some issues with audio during our service, and there are some moments where the Pastor's mic cuts out in this episode.

They did what was right in their own eyes, and that was sin. And that's what sin looks like. Sin looks like when we do what's right in our own eyes, comma, and the thing that we do goes against the will or the command or the law of God.
SPEAKER_00That's what sin is. Hey everyone, welcome to the Brick by Brick Podcast from Renovation Church, where faith gets built one truth at a time. In this sermon episode, you'll listen to our most recent Sunday morning message. So whether you're new to faith or have been walking with Jesus for years, there's something here for you. Kickback, hit play, and let's build this thing together.
SPEAKER_02You know, I've said this before. We are choosing to be very specific about uh about Easter. We know that the scripture tells us that the Easter season starts well before the actual cross. Um we know that that um Easter, what we call Easter, was actually a resurrection Sunday for some of you. Um what we call Easter a resurrection Sunday for them, it was actually Passover. And it began for the early believers, the March to Passover um began well before a lot of the events that we generally see like as the passion of the Christ. The events of Easter started really six days before that. In John chapter 12, we see this, right? In John chapter 12, hopefully you're there, verse 1, it says that six days before the Passover, not before Easter, not before Resurrection Sunday, they're in season of Passover. Passover, if you don't know, comes from um they recognize how God um used uh the used his grace for them to free them from slavery, from God.
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_02That for every um the in their obedience they took the the the blood of the of the animal and they spread it over the doorposts. Some of you I see you nodding your head, the spirit of death was released through, and uh everywhere that that's everywhere that that that act of obedience was, that spirit of death passed over. Make sense? And so they call it Passover and they celebrate this. And so six days, verse one here, six days uh before Passover, it says that Jesus came to Bethany where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead, right? Very famous, very well known, how Jesus had raised from the dead. Uh it says, here a dinner was given in Jesus' honor, and Martha served, as she often did. Martha served while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. It says, and then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume, and she poured it on Jesus' feet, and she wiped his feet with her hair, and the house filled with the fragrance of the perfume. It's colorful. You can almost imagine. And it says, But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, uh, who would later, uh who would later was to betray him, he objected. And he said, Why wasn't this perfume sold for the money given and given and the money given to the poor? It was worth about a year's wages. And it says in verse 6 that he didn't say this because he cared about the poor. He said this, why? He was a thief. He was a thief, and as the keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it. And so Judas, this very intimate thing happens, and Judas stands up, and he doesn't stand up and object, right? With with something so on the nose that would everyone would be like, whoa, wait a minute. Be like, understand here. He objects with something good, doesn't he? He objects and says, Whoa, whoa, wait a minute. Why are we wasting this perfume? This perfume could be sold and instead it could be used to bless the poor. But we know what was in his heart. He didn't want to bless the poor, right? He wanted to bless himself. And really it begs the question, doesn't it? That it's not really about the things that you say you're gonna do, right? Sometimes it doesn't even, it doesn't even matter the things that you do. Is it not more important the heart behind the things that you do? Because this tells us you can do good things, right? You can have good intentions, right, on the outside, but on the inside your heart could be corrupt. Kind of makes you think, doesn't it? Kind of makes us want to reevaluate the things that we do and why we do those things. But in verse 7, it says, uh, leave her alone, Jesus replied. It was intended that she uh should uh save this perfume uh for the day of my burial. He says, You will always have the poor amongst you, but you will not always have me. And so in verse six, six days, or I'm sorry, in six days before the Passover, right? Um days before the triumphal entry, days before Jesus would turn over the tables, days before he would drive out the money changers, days before he would um wash the disciples' feet, days before he would pray for the disciples, pray for you and I. It says that he prayed for all believers. Days before all of these things happened, the Bible tells us that Jesus had the cross on his mind and it was always in the distance. Do you see that? That even days before he does all of these things, Jesus says, no, wait a minute, she did this because one day I'm gonna be buried. And I think that's an example that Christ sets for us, right? That we are supposed to live our lives always with the cross in the distance. And I hope that's what you're getting from these messages here, right? And I don't want to over-romanticize the cross. I don't really understand how you could over-romanticize the cross. The cross isn't something, it's not romantic at all, but I really would say that this is an example that Jesus sets for us. Because I believe that we're supposed to live our lives. I'm not one of those pastors that would say, man, to be a Christian, you gotta be uh dull and boring and you know, live a colorless life. I mean, what kind of life is that? Are some of you like, I'm doing this wrong? You're not supposed to be living a dull, like that. That does not equate Christianity. Christianity is supposed to be filled with life, color, vibrance. That's the kind of life that Christ died on the cross for us, right? The Bible says that he came to give us life, but life more abundant as well, right? John chapter 10, verse 9. He says that I am the gate. Whoever enters through the gate, or whoever enters through me, they will be saved. So Jesus is saying, Look, I'm the way. Like whoever comes through me, whoever walks the path that I set for them, they will be saved. He says they'll come in and they'll go out and find pasture. And he says, and to the contrary, the thief comes to own what? Steal, kill, and destroy. But I come that you might have life and have it to the full. Why? Because I am the good shepherd. And the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Some of you this morning, you need to hear that. You genuinely need to hear that it's okay to smile. Yeah. It's okay to smile. It's okay to be happy. It's okay to live a life. The good shepherd knows that you've had your run-ins with the thief and that you've made mistakes. But to be a Christian doesn't mean that you have to now live a life that will be day in and day out. That's not what it means. Live our lives over. He says, I am the good shepherd, and I came that you would be free of those things, and that you would have life, and that you would live it to the fullest. And though the thief destroys, destroys what? Think about it. Can he destroy our souls? Right? Can he destroy the thief? It's not his? No. Are we not gods? Come on. Are we not gods? So what does he desire to steal? I know I'm using the the male for Satan. Um and no woman objected in this room. They were like, yeah, that trick. But what he desires to steal now is your joy. What he desires to take from you now is your peace, is your happiness. So that if you're in this life, you would not give an example of the glory and grace that Christ has bestowed upon you. Knowing that you are bought with the price, and one day you will go meet him in your glory. But today I want to keep you low. And God says, No, no, no. I came not only to give you life, but amen. And so as we live our lives, we live our lives with these five principles being in the distance. Okay? Cap, I want to tell you those five things again. Five things that the cross tells us that as we live our lives, we must understand that these things they must always be in the distance, as the example that Christ showed for us. Number one, the Christ is the fulfillment of God's plan. We continue to carry out that plan by God's grace, but the cross is a fulfillment of God's plan. Number two, that uh to follow Christ, we talked about this last week, to follow Christ, we must be willing to suffer in his humiliation. Paul says, look, I want to join Christ in the resurrection. Do we not? We want to join Christ in the resurrection. But he says, by any means necessary, I'm also willing to suffer humiliation that I might join him in the power of his resurrection. And so for us to join God in the glory of his resurrection, we must be willing to suffer humiliation in this life. What does it mean to be humiliated? Is it so on the right? But often or desire, we are suffering some form of humiliation. And suffer humiliation. Why? Because we suffered. The same thing for us. And the cross shows us that he was willing to be taken down to a low place. And to join him in his resurrection, we must be willing to do the same. That's a hard one. Get it. The cross reminds us that it is okay to suffer humiliation. Number three, the scripture tells us that through the cross, the price for sin. Of worship? For example, the old expression of worship of the temple and the priest model. The cross shows us that when the veil was ripped, we all now have access to God. Amen? There is no difference between God. Your prayers go up like my prayers go up, like her prayers go up, like their prayers go up. And Christ and God, his ear is attentive to our cries. And the cross tells us that. And lastly, the scripture tells us that not only are we freed from sin, but here in this life, we have been clothed with righteousness and we have been made clean, white as snow. And that's important. Amen? And so that means that we live our life now. Those things that make us happy, that don't go against the will of God, we live our lives now, but always having the cross in the distance, using these five things that the cross tells us as guardrails to remind us that yes, we've been given life, life abundant, and yet we are made clean. Life, life abundant, and yet the scripture tells us I am sinless. Life, life abundant, but yet there will be times that I must suffer humiliation, and for the cross, that is okay. Does that make sense? So here Jesus is, knowing six days before all of these things would even begin for him in Bethany, that this perfume was being poured out for him and that one day he was going to head to the cross, and it did not stop him from doing the things that he did. It did not stop him from ministering from John chapter 12 all the way to John 19, as he was on his way to the cross. It didn't stop him from doing any of those things to live out those five truths. And I would argue that the most fundamental point that the cross makes is the point that we make today. That through the cross, there is forgiveness of sin. Through the cross, there's forgiveness of sin. And I think to fully understand this truth, you need to fully understand how we got here and what is sin. Okay? So many of you have heard this, but we're gonna like go to the basics. And I want you just to indulge me in this for two reasons. Number one, I don't want to assume that anybody here knows anything. I think that's I think that's one of the greatest mistakes pastors make is we don't share the gospel enough because we see you Sunday after Sunday after Sunday, and we think, surely you know the gospel. What? I remember when I was a I was a youth pastor, many, many, many moons ago. Many, many moons ago. And we were saying um, guys ever heard like true love weights? Trash. No. I kid, I kid, parents, I kid. Uh so we were doing this true love weights thing. And um, you know, you you know, I don't want to, you know what true love weights is. And we were talking about how the Bible, how the Bible talks about um, it talks about abstinence and all of these things. And I and I would just never forget this young lady who had been coming a youth group forever, stood up and she goes, We're not supposed to be doing that. And I was like, No, that's what the word of God says. She was like, Oh, okay. Okay, I guess I better. And I'm like, yeah. And and I remember thinking, that's on us. That's on us. That we would just assume that there are certain things that because you come to church, you know. And so we're gonna go back to Genesis. Genesis chapter 1, verse 1. And for many of you, you're like, oh, I've been here, done that. Indulge me because I don't know that anyone knows how we got to this place where we would say there is sin in this in this life and in this world. And number two, this is an opportunity for us to all get on the same page of what sin is. Okay? For us to all get on the same page of what sin is. And so turn your Bibles to Genesis chapter 1. It's in the beginning. Well, don't go that far. In Genesis chapter 1, I'll paraphrase some of it, but some of it I want you to read for yourself. In Genesis chapter 1, it says, In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. In verse 2, it says, Now the earth was formed and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and it says that the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. We talked about that before, right? I love how in John it says that in the beginning was God and the Word was with God. Here it is. Amen. Here it is. And in verse 3 it says, And God said, Let there be light, and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day, and he called the darkness, and the darkness he called night, and there was evening, and there was morning the first day. And so this was the first day of all things. Okay? God created the heavens and the earth, he created light, he separated the darkness. And this is all on day one. If you keep reading, you'll see that on day two he created, and then again on day three, and then on day four, and then eventually the Bible says that he gets to where he creates man and woman in his image. And we know them as Adam and Eve. Right? You guys know this. He places them in the garden, he gives them permission to eat all of the trees except for one. This was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And if you keep going, you get to Genesis chapter three, which, if we're being honest, is not too far in the Bible. Would have been nice if we could have three chapters. Two, really, technically. But hey, I'm not here to judge. Genesis chapter three, it says this. Now the serpent, wrap your head around this. Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the other wild animals that the Lord had that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, Did God really say you must not eat from any tree in the garden? Crafty. Because he knew what her answer would be, right? The woman said to the serpent, We may eat from the fruit of the tree in the garden, but God did say, We must not eat of the fruit from the tree that's in the middle of the garden. You must not touch it or you will die. See, so she knew. Right? There was no ignorance. She knew. And then verse 4, it says, You will not certainly die, the serpent said to the woman. For God knows that when you eat, when you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. And can I just say how enticing that must have felt if we are honest with ourselves this morning, that you might be like God, knowing, having the knowledge of good and evil, right? How many of you know that it's not speeding until they put up the speeding sign? No, think about it. Right? This is I'm not advocating speeding. My gosh, don't go out there and speed. But it's not speeding until you can drive down the highway going whatever you want until you see that sign that says 70. And when you see that sign that says 70, you gotta do what? Did someone just shout out 80? No, you gotta slow down. And now you're going 70. But when you see a sign that says 60, you gotta do what? You gotta adjust. Right? And it and so it's it wasn't God holding them back and trying to create humans and putting them at a lower level. It was God saying that I've given you life and giving you the ability to live life to the fullest, and you will be able to do that if you don't eat of this tree. But the moment you eat of that tree, you will see speed signs everywhere. Truly, that's what it is. And the Bible says, Well, let's just read it for ourselves. I'm gonna resist that temptation too. Let's just, I want you to read it for yourself. In verse 6, it says, When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, that means she was looking at it. Right? She was like, Oh. I don't know why you would say not to eat that. It looks good. It actually looks real good. How many of us do that to sin? It looks good. I'm guilty. It looks really good. I don't know why they want me to go. Forty five on a four lane highway. This just don't make sense. You know we do it. Can I tell you that's not the point? The sign says forty five. And we and we justify. Slow lanes, fast lanes, they got this lane, this. I'll just get in this lane. I'll just my wife hates it. I'm a left lane driver. It's who I am. Helps me see everything. But that's what we do. And that's what she's doing. She's looking at it. She's admiring it. She's saying that it is good for food. I don't know why he would tell us what to eat. It's pleasing to the eye. It's also wisdom. How does she know that? Serpent told her that. Ain't no way she could look at that and be like, oh, that's good. And if I eat it, the serpent told her that. Right? She's looking at it, and the longer she's looking at it, and the longer she's blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And don't worry, ladies, uh, we're gonna get to where Adam was here in a minute. But the longer they looked at it, and the longer they're like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, the more the words that the serpent said begin to ring true in their ear, the longer we stare at sin, the more we will begin to justify it in our own lives. It's just human nature. And she's looking at it, and it says that she's like, it's also like I can get some wisdom for that. So she took some of it. It says that she ate it and she gave some of it to her husband after she called him. Hey, come in. No, no, no, no. Why? Because he was right there with her. Looking at it too, staring at it too, being like, Oh yeah, you're gonna get some of it. I don't know, you're gonna get some of it. She took it, she ate it, she didn't fall over dead. And when she didn't fall over dead, she gave some to him, and he was like, Let's go. And and he ate it too. And so both Adam and Eve disobeyed God. The first sin that recorded in the history of man disobedience, right? You could argue, oh baby. No, no, no, no. It's it's disobedience. They did what was right in their own eyes, and that was sin. And that's what sin looks like. Sin looks like when we do what's right in our own eyes, and the thing that we do goes against the will or the command or the law of God. That's what sin is. John Wesley says that sin is a voluntary going against a known law of God. I wish I could better understand what he means by voluntary, right? Because I would love to have a conversation of like, okay, on the one hand, I understand what you're saying, but at the same time, are you saying that like you can't sin in ignorance? Because Jesus, while on the cross, he prays, right? Father, forgive them, for they what? Know not what they do. But yet he's asking that the Father would show grace and mercy and offer up forgiveness. Either way, we don't know. That's the history I feel like, and one day we'll get there. But either way, I think this is clear. Sin is when we go against the law or the will or the command of God. Because when we do that, we put ourselves at a place higher than God. And we say to ourselves, although I know that the sign says that I should be going this fast, however, I've justified it, irrelevant, but you know what? I can go this fast. Right? Why would they put 120 on my car if they only want me to go 70? Justify it however you want. However you want. But the reality is that's what sin is. Are we clear? When we say, I'm gonna put myself above God, God says that I should do this, God says that as a believer I should do that, and I'm gonna say, but with this life that I have, that I'm saying is mine, not his, it's mine, I will do this. That, my friends, is sin. And the Bible also says that the wages of sin is death, meaning that the payment for your sins is death, right? Easily put, if you work a job, and on that job, right, you work 10 hours for$10 an hour at the end of the day, you owe$100. Why? Because the wages of your work got you ten dollars. And if the wages of sin is death, that means that we in this life, because sin has entered into this life, we now sin, and the Bible says that the wages of those sin is death. And so at the end of this life, you will be given the payment of death. And that's why I'm saying when you get there, you cannot use my name. You cannot use your spouses, you cannot use your parents, you cannot even use your own. There is only one name you can use that will get you out of that payment of death. Amen. And the cross tells us who that is, and the cross tells us who that is. Turn your Bibles to Romans chapter 5. Romans chapter 5, starting in verse 12. Now that we know what sin is, now that we know that the Bible tells us clearly that sin is a payment of that sin is death. I want to take two or three minutes, and I'm gonna ask you to read Romans chapter 5, verse 12 through 21. Romans chapter 5, 12 through 21, and then we'll come back, and I want to highlight some of Romans chapter 5, 12 through 21. I won't go through it all, but I want you to take the know that sin, how we got here, is that the first sin was Adam and Eve and the disobedience, knowing that the wages of sin is death. Now that we're all on the same page, I want you to pick up that person, play music so you won't have to hear your own voice and think that everyone's going out. But I want you to read this out loud. Take two, three minutes, maybe swap off every five every five verses or so, and I'll come back in like three minutes, and we'll finish. How beautiful is that God's body, reading God's word out loud for yourself. I pray the Holy Spirit hides that in your heart so that you might not sin against it. Truly. But if you read this for yourself, does it not illuminate now? Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin. And in this way, death came to all people because all have sinned. Why do we receive death because of the because of our sin? Right? I know that it could be easy to say, oh man, come on, Adam. I've thought that, like, bro, you did us dirty. But Adam doesn't make me sin. Okay. Because of one man's action, sin entered into the world, right? And and I want to be very clear when I say this, because I know that some of you have been hurt by people in the world and it was wrong and it was sinful. And I'm not trying to give those people who hurt you a pass and say, oh man, it's because they had no choice. No, no, no, no, no. Adam didn't make none of us sin. Adam opened the door so that sin would not enter into the world, but yet we all have free will. We all now have access to sin because of this one man's action. But that's where it stops for him. And now that we have access to sin, we freely sin. And because of that sin, it says, and in this way, death came to all people because what? All sin. To be sure. Sin was in the world before the law was given. Against anyone's account where there was no law. You drive on the road as fast as you want until there's a speed sign. He says, make no mistake, sin was there, but it wasn't charged to anyone's account where there was no law. Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses. He says, even over those in by breaking the command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come. Verse 15, don't miss. But the gift is not like the gift is not like the trespass. The many by the trespass of the one man. He says, How much more did the grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man Jesus Christ overflow to the many? Greater is He. Amen. Then the sin that now runs rampant into the world, because of one man's action, sin is now running unchecked and rampant in the world. But but the gift of God is greater. Verse 16 says, Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man's sin. The judgment followed one's sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. Do you see that? For if by the trespasses of one man death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace, gift of righteousness reign in the life through the one man, Jesus Christ? Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in the condemnation of all people, also one righteous act resulted in the justification and life of all people. One day when you get there and you understand that the wages of your sin is death, you should also know that the gift of God is eternal life. And it will be that name, not mine, not yours, not your grandpa's, not the one who discipled you, brought you to Christ. It will be that one name and that one gift that you will receive that will grant you access into eternal life. And it is by the power of the cross that it's the only thing, the only thing that combats the sin that is running unchecked in this life. Amen. And the cross tells us that, that you don't have to be tossed to and fro by the waves and the unchecked winds of sin. The cross tells us that there is forgiveness. If you would only receive it, you read it for yourself, that through one man sin came into the world, but also through one man came after the trespasses of many. We are the many. And his grace and his mercy was sufficient. And so though we live not intentionally, hopefully not intentionally, going against the commands and the will of God, when we do sin, the Bible tells us that through the cross there is forgiveness. And that is a truth. That's a truth. It has to always remain in the distance as we live our lives. Amen. The Bible says that all you have to do is through faith receive the gift that was given to you by the grace that Jesus Christ, when he gave, when he laid down his life, you have to receive it. And so today I want to give you the opportunity to do that. I don't want to just walk us through sin and walk through like the gift of God is justified. How many know you've got to receive a gift? Yes? That's a gift you have to receive. Fortunately, it's not a gift that you have to jump through hoops to receive. You just have to receive it through faith. So I just want to ask those of you, any of you who don't know Jesus, I feel led to ask you to stand. And all that goes against everything that I because I'm like, oh, I'm gonna be so private. But here's the thing if you can't stand up in this place, it ain't gonna be any easier out there. Amen. So let's bow our heads. If you don't know Jesus Christ as your Lord and your personal savior, right? I know that's kind of Christianese language, but all I'm really saying is that the scriptures that we read here today in Romans, if you've never put yourself into that scripture and thought for yourself, wow, I am the one who sins, and I am the one who is in need of the gift of the Savior that comes and does away with that sin. If you've never made that conscious thought to say that I want to receive that gift, then this morning I want to give you the opportunity to do that. The Bible says that if we would just simply confess with our mouths, right, that Jesus Christ is Lord, then we shall be saved. I just want to give you that opportunity. And so if that's you, I want you to stand up. I don't want you to think, oh, people are gonna hear me stand up. They will. That's a good thing. I don't want to assume that you don't know Christ this morning. And so if you want to know Christ in a more intimate way, then I just want to give you that opportunity.
SPEAKER_01Amen. Amen. Anyone else?
SPEAKER_02Let's keep our heads bowed. There are others of you who you are living your life just driving by speed signs. Just driving by speed signs. You know, and I'm speaking metaphorically, but you know that that sign and you don't care. Doesn't mean you're this horrible person, it doesn't mean that, right? There's no shame connected to this. But if if that's you and you're saying, God, I need your help to slow down, then would you stand? If you're saying there's something in my life that I need to give over to God, there's something in my life that I need to say, Lord, I am I am just blowing by this, God, because I haven't given it the importance that you have. And Lord, today I want to surrender this part to you, Lord. In Jesus' name. Two prayers. Still with our heads bowed. The first one I'll pray. The second one I want everybody to repeat after me. But the first one, Lord, I pray for the person who's standing and says, I there are speed signs in my life that I need to slow down for. And Father God, I need your help and I need your grace and I need your mercy and I need your power to do so, Father God. Lord, I just ask that you would give these people the boldness to choose you. Despite how it looks, despite the perceived humiliation that comes, Lord, whatever it is, God, give these people based on their humility of heart, Lord, and the glory and grace that only you can provide, would you give them the ability to slow down? Whatever that means and whatever that looks like in their life, God, God, we as believers, we stand with our brother and our sister, God, and we ask that you would help them to slow down. In Jesus' name. And now with our heads bowed, if you stood because you want to know the Lord and the grace that He provides, I want you to repeat this prayer. Listen to the words that you say. And as you humble yourself, lean into them. As this church family will help you live those out. But I'm not just gonna ask the people who stood. I think the first act that a new believer should feel is their family supporting them. And I don't think that anyone should ever have to say the sinner's prayer by themselves in a room full of brothers and sisters. And so I'm gonna pray the prayer, and I'm gonna ask those people who stood for salvation to say it after me, and every saved person here in the place, I want you to say it with me so that together we pray this prayer. Would everyone say, Dear Jesus, I know that I'm a sinner, and I know that the wages of my sin require death. For payment for those sins. So would you accept me now as your child and forgive me of my sins and help me live for you all the days of my life. In Jesus' name. You can be seated. Let me say this, and I'm gonna get out of here. If you pray that prayer for the first time, I feel this is necessary to say, don't expect your life to just turn on a dime. That's unrealistic. I don't want to sell you a bag of goods. If there were dishes dirty in the sink when you left this morning, they are there when you get home. No, I'm serious. If your marriage was in trouble, don't think because you said that before it's not still in trouble. You have work to do. But what you now have is you have forgiveness of sin, and you have brothers and sisters in this house. Who will stand with you? Amen? That's what you get. You get the family of God to come around you, to walk with you, to serve with you, to love on you. As we all walk through this life as a result of Genesis chapter three, this broken life, this human experience that we're all having, we do it together through the grace under the shadow of the cross together. And when you fall, just like I fall, just like they fall, the cross tells us that there is forgiveness. Amen? And we live into that forgiveness and we keep moving forward. Amen. For payment for those sins. So would you accept me now as your child and forgive me of my sins and help me live for you all the days of my life. In Jesus' name. You can be seated. Let me say this. I'm gonna get out of here. If you pray that prayer for the first time, I feel this is necessary to say. Don't expect your life to just turn on a dime. That's unrealistic.
