Preconceived notions. We have these uh notions about uh Job um that we um we have from I guess childhood, maybe growing up childhood or whatever, or just things that we've heard around the way about Job. So um I'm gonna go ahead and begin us in prayer and then we'll go ahead and um and get started. I have book uh chapter 37, Job chapter 37. Father, we thank you for this day. We thank you for this time. We ask that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight. God, prepare our ears and our hearts to hear what's what we are needing to hear in this time and in this time that we spend together, Lord. We thank you for this day. We thank you for this time, we thank you for seeing us again on this side of heaven, and we just give you glory, honor, and praise in Jesus' name. Amen. So I have 37, and today we are um basically, as you guys know, I'm just gonna give us a little bit of, we're gonna go back a little bit and get give us a little bit of history. Um, as we know, Job, I think I was the one that talked a little bit about Job and his little buddies, his friends. He had the three friends who um, you know, were pretty negative about, you know, once he lost everything, he had those three friends that sat with him for seven days and were like, you know, they didn't say anything for seven days. They were quiet, and then after that, they just kind of went in on him about what did you do? Did you curse God? Did you do something wrong? And um, you know, Job is like, you know, uh, look, I didn't do anything wrong. Um, and then we get to verse uh chapter 37. I don't recall going through uh chapter 32. It was not in our handout or our outline. I'm not sure if it happened on Sunday when I wasn't there, but um in chapter um 37, there's a young man by the name of E uh Elihu, who um basically this chapter is pretty much dedicated to him. This is the time that he spoke up. But let's talk a little bit about him. He is a young man who um it really doesn't give a lot of a description of who he was. He was probably somewhere, somebody in the town that um kind of knew, you know, it's a small town, so people know what's going on. They knew what was going on with Job, and he I'm sure he was one of the ones. Um, he was some of the people at the at the wayside listening to his buddies and friends um as they were being negative about him. And because he was a young man, he specifically did not speak up, you know, in that time and should be in all times that young people should should listen to wisdom and then you know, kind of take wisdom. And you know, it's not always like that. And he did that, but he did. He listened to what they had to say, and then he got a little righteous indignation, and that's what pretty much 37 is about. Um, I'm gonna go back to verse uh to chapter 32 for just a second to talk about um about Elihu, Eli Elihu, who had waited to speak to Job. Um, this is verse 32, chapter 32, verses 4. Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because others um were years older than he. Um, and when he saw uh that there was no answer in their mouths of these these three men, he burned with anger. He was like, Yo, y'all supposed to be his helmy, and y'all are y'all, y'all are not saying anything. Then Elihu, and it tells he's the son of this person, he said out loud, I'm young of age, um, but for some reason I'm anxious. Well, I am young of age, and you are aged. For that reason, I was anxious and dared not to tell you what I think. I thought age should speak and multitude of years should teach wisdom, but there is um a spirit in a man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding. Um, those in years may not always be wise, nor do they, nor um may they be, nor may the elders always understand justice. Therefore, listen to me. I will give you my opinion and tell you plainly what I think. So basically, he took the time to tell them what was going on. So he gave a little bit in um chapter 32, but then he really goes in on in chapter 34, chapter, I mean 37, it jumps to 37. So let me give you a little bit of breakdown in 37. So basically he got the the um seniors told, he said, listen, you know, y'all are supposed to be encouraging your boy, you're supposed to be helping him out. Um, but you're not really encouraging him. You're you're really just beating him down even more, basically. Um, so he started out in the first couple of uh verses in chapter uh 35, 37, I'm sorry, um, where he used the nature. He talked about the nature and how he it's it's really written in a very poetic sort of way. So Job is kind of written, kind of it's kind of hard to explain, like Brother Michael talked about last night, because it's a little bit of poetry. Um so when you're kind of you got to really dig through it in order to kind of figure out what's going on. But basically in verses uh one through five, he talks a little bit about the storms and basically the run, the rumble of the thunder and lightning and how it crashes in the sky. And basically it's making um you know analogies between God and how God created all those wonderful things. How can God allow all these things to go on? Why would God allow those things to go on? It's basically talking about the majesty that God is just like an amazing God. Um so we shouldn't underestimate his power. Um, if nature alone is powerful, um that must mean that God is powerful also. So then he talks about the control, how God controls the weather, the snow, the rain, the storm, the ice, um, and and all of those things, and all that's going through verses uh six through 13. And you guys can take the time to kind of read through that. Um, let's see, I'm gonna read a couple of them. Um, chapter verse six says, uh, for he saith to the snow, be thou on earth, likewise to the small rain um and to the great rain of his strength. He sealeth up the hand of every man, and all the men know his work. And this is the this is the King James version. I don't have time to pull up the other one, or I have like three Bibles sitting around me. Um, then he tells the beasts to go into the dens and remain in their place. Um, and out of the south cometh the whirlwind and the cold in the north. So basically, it's a lot of poetry about God and what he does and you know how he does things in a very meticulous way. He uses the storms, he uses the snow. When it snows, it happens this way. Um, when it rains, it happens this way. If God can control the weather, um, then who is God not to correct um who we are? Who is God not to teach who teach us things? Who's God not to show love to us? And who is God not to show his authority towards us as well? Um, in other words, he basically was saying, not everything um that happens in life is because God is being like not a merciful or just God. We can't just we can't dispute his the the random things that happen to us in life. There's always a purpose behind everything. Um he tells them to consider his works, God's works in um verses 14 through 20. Um, he asks Job, can you explain to us how the clouds are floating? Um, control, can you tell us about lightning and how it happens? Um, can you tell us about the waves from the heat and where it comes from? So again, it's just giving more insight into just the different things that God does. And it just doesn't, if you look in your human mind, it doesn't make any sense. You cannot put together in our finite mind some of the things that happen on this earth. And he's saying, so when this is happening to you, we have to remember the source and where this came from and that he's not always a negative thing. Um, again, he says, God is powerful, he's just and he's righteous, um, but beyond our human understanding. Um, just because we don't understand something doesn't mean that God is always absent, doesn't mean that God is unjust. By no means does it mean that. Um, life is like a storm when things don't make sense um and the answers don't always come, and sometimes when prayers are delayed, um, in 37 he reminds us that God is all majesty, he's all powerful because he does all these different things. Um yep. All righty. All right, so that is um what I had for you guys today. Um, is talking about just the friendships. And um, this young man uh just came out of the blue. Um, and Job allowed him to speak into his life for good reason, um, because he did, I mean, there was a lot of people speaking into his life, a lot of people, his friends, and now this young man who was in the town who came and spoke into his life. And thank God he spoke words of wisdom, encouragement, and insight. Um, and um Job listened to that. And as uh as you guys, I don't know if you heard earlier, as the chapters go forward, God will speak and it'll it'll be a turnaround. You'll start seeing the other side of it as the chapters go on. As uh Philip said yesterday. Spoiler alert, God does speak, and you know, there is a change because you just can't constantly be going through stuff. God would not be a good God if he allowed things to um just happen. Somebody's raising their hand. Um I I heard somebody say yesterday, um, God is the type of God. He trusted Job so much that um, and this is two different stories, but it it's the analogy is the same. But he trusted Job so much that he would not turn his back on him. I heard somebody say that um Job could have gone into the lion's den with the lions with a stake on his back and came out untouched because God he trusted God enough that God was gonna take care of him and be there. He was that kind of man that he just knew that if I walked into a lion's den with a stake in my hand and on my head and everywhere and walked through that lion's den, that God was still gonna take care of him. And he did, God took care of him. So um that is my time. I mean, well, it's not my time, but I'm gonna wrap it up from there. Um, I have a few more minutes. I don't know if there's any questions or comments or
